Thasmin is so damn poetic because here you have two individuals that explicitly had decided that they didn't want to go on. They were both ready to just call it quits in the worst way. With a little convincing, they both decided for themselves to keep going, to step off that ledge. And that's WHY they meet. "Nobody else got to be us." They found each other because they decided to choose hope!! And that's exactly how life is!! There are so many things waiting for you. Wonderful, incredible people, places, things, ideas, stories, etc. They're all waiting for you if you just keep going. Thasmin embody this realization in every way.

For someone who has struggled with this for a long, long time, I appreciate them so much. :'))

U.N.I.T. got majorly confused when they learned Graham O'Brien had started the support group for The Doctor's companions as seen in The Power of The Doctor. From The Gold Archive book.

Either U.N.I.T. wasn't made aware of Jackie's current status of being stuck in Pete's World, or they somehow gained communication, which explains why she's a (non-)attendee. Anyway, this detail was borrowed from the script where it says this.

This also explains how Mel got to be hired by U.N.I.T. by the time of The Giggle.
