i remember specifically hoping to passively pick up more cn through genshin cn dub (like how one picks up japanese from watching too much anime), n i remember being kind of disappointed when it felt like it wasn't rlly working (and it still doesn't really feel that way), but sometimes i'll hear smth, ask what it means, n then suddenly go "!!!" when told bc i heard some character idle with it all the time, or i'll be reading smth in cn n i'll be like "hehe i know that word (bc i saw it pop up all the time doing genshin-related translations)"

The Túrin and Nienor "happy ending after death" ask got me thinking, because that sort of thing has happened before. Long ago, I was Tales of Berseria anon, and Oscar and Teresa had a similar ending, where they died but then became (more or less) gods in their world. Now I'm curious if there are other examples of this. It's a nice way of subverting the "incest always ends in death and tragedy" trope, where they DO die but then are deified and able to stick together anyway.

I can't think of any other examples, but maybe others can. It is, like you said, a nice subversion.
