So I know there are some people who showed interest in seeing more of this silly man who made a short appearance in my last Lone Emmet and Cub chapter [ this page here: tomorobo-illust.tumblr.com/post/741586192947134464/see-hi-res-version  ], so here he is! A complication of doodles I liked enough to clean up and colour.

Ten years after Toji Zenin was born, came a little girl. She was named Tenka - meaning heaven and flower. The clan hoped she would be better than her brother but to their disappointment, it was another failure. The Zenin clan all thought that except one - her brother. While the rest of the clan looked at her as another stain to their name, her brother saw otherwise.

At first, Toji just pitied the pile of flesh that was unfortunately born into the vile clan. But when he held her for the very first time, it was also the first time Tenka ever opened her eyes. Toji feared that she would cry the second she saw him but to his surprise, she giggled as she reached out her dainty little hands to him. It was at that moment that Toji saw her as his light.

Life was not kind to the two siblings as they suffered from the constant berating insults of their own clansmen and the disappointed stares of their parents. Although that did not matter as long as they had each other by their side. Unbeknownst to them, their time together would be cut short on his 14th birthday.

"Aniki!" The 4-year-old girl shouted as she ran into her brother's arms. "Look! I made you a flower crown made from the Azlea flowers that grew in the gardens for your birthday!" Tenka beamed at her older brother, proud of the gift she made him. Toji chuckled at his sister, grateful that she remembered his birthday. It wasn’t common for him to be noticed but that was one thing Tenka never failed to do; after all, they were each others’ world.

They walked through the clan grounds as Tenka babbled to Toji about random stuff she thought of. The sun soon set and painted the sky with hues of gold. Toji stopped by the stairs and sat on them while they watched the sunset.

"Aniki? What's your wish?"

Toji's eyes widened. No one has ever asked him what he wished for on his birthday or even any day. For once in his life, someone bothered to know what he wanted. He softly patted his sister's head and spoke. "I wish to see you happy and safe Tenten." Silence swept the air as the siblings didn't bother to speak a single word and enjoyed the peace, but little did they know it would soon be ripped away from them.

The eerie silence cuts through the night as an unknown man spoke with the head of the Zenin Clan - the father of Toji and Tenka.

“We’ll pay you any amount you want. All we need is the kid with the heavenly restriction.” 

“You can have the girl. She has no use for us anyways.”

The two men shook hands and sealed the deal that would forever change the lives of the two siblings for the rest of their life.

“Let go! Help me! Aniki! Please let go of me!” The cries of the young girl were left unheard as she was dragged away from the place she called home by men she knew nothing about. Marks of blood were left with every step she took from her wounded feet. Tenka struggled and tugged her arm, trying to break free from their grasp but it was all rendered useless.

Meanwhile, on the other side of the estate, Toji lay restless on his bed. ‘Why do I feel like something is wrong…’ he thought. He tossed and turned but to no avail, he still felt wide awake. Minutes passed until he finally decided to take a walk and see if Tenka was awake. It was not out of the ordinary for Toji to feel sleepless at night, which is why he brushed his suspicions aside. Unfortunately, he was sorely mistaken.

The moment he reached Tenka’s room, he realized then and there that he should have trusted his instincts the moment he had it. The room was a mess - the picture frame that held a picture of Toji and Tenka was now shattered on the floor with blood staining it. It seemed as if someone stepped on the broken shards of glass. Having seen this, Toji was now in a panic.

‘What happened?’

‘Where is Tenka?’

‘Is she safe?’

All these questions swirled inside the mind of the 14-year-old boy. Toji never feared anything - not his clan, not his brother, and not even his father, but for the first time in his life, he was terrified. He ran out of the room shouting his sister’s name, not caring whether or not he was bothering the people in the estate. He searched for hours but he never found her. He knew that his last resort in finding his sister was asking his father. He knocked on his father’s study and to his surprise, he was still awake.

“Come in.” a gruff voice came from behind the door.

Toji never liked his father and neither did Tenka but unlike her, Toji never hid his hatred for the man. The two glared at each other the moment Toji stepped in the room. Toji wasted no time and asked. “Where is Tenka?” Their father sipped on his tea, simply glared through his cup. Toji, irritated by his actions, jogged to his father and slammed his hands on the desk. “Answer me old man! Where the hell is Tenka?!” The older man set his cup down and stood up. “I sold her. She was useless anyways.” He spoke as if the girl that was sold off wasn’t his daughter.

Toji stood there in disbelief. He looked at the man before him with pure resentment. “Well? I answered your question, now leave.” The man dismissed his son without even taking a glance at him. Toji left with a heavy heart. If only he listened to that voice in his head, and now he is forced to live a life without the one and only person he cared for.

Screams and cries echoed through the room as men strapped down Tenka on a table. She thrashed as much as she could to try and escape her bindings but this all stopped once she felt a painful sting across her cheeks. Her hair was grabbed, forcibly turning her head toward her captor.

"Stop thrashing around little girl. You will never escape, for you will be my little secret weapon"

Tenka could only stare through her tears in horror at the madman who cackled about all the experiments he would do on her. All to form the deadliest human weapon in his disposal.She suddenly felt something pierce her neck and a groggy feeling washed over her body. No longer able to feel her limbs, Tenka had no choice but to slip into the inky void of unconsciousness.

For several years, Tenka was stuck in an endless cycle of suffering just so that she could be the perfect human weapon. The sorcerers that held her captive saw potential in a child that had heavenly restriction, especially one that had no cursed energy at all, because everything comes with a price. The price for having no cursed energy is heightened physical attributes. The group of sorcerers thought that the Zenin clan was stupid for ignoring the children that could open up new opportunities for them.

For days on end, they put Tenka into experiments that would leave her wishing to be in the arms of death. Dosing her with different kinds of poisons so that she could build immunity against it, grueling hours of harsh training that left her with large cuts and bruises, and even going so far as to give her meals that could rival the taste of wet rags covered in vomit.

It has been 9 years since Tenka was taken from her clan’s estate and it felt like she had gone through all the 9 rings of hell during those years. Until one day, it seemed as if the gods finally heard her prayers for the past years because they at last brought someone to get her out of the hellhole.

It happened after Tenka had gone through the day’s experiments. As she laid unmoving on the cold floor of her cell, she heard shouts and screams from outside her cell door. “Someone has breached the facility, all security personnel are requested at the ground level immediately!” Tenka heard a guy shout through the intercom. Tenka’s eyes widened to this information. She dragged her battered body near her door and started slamming her fist against the metal. She called out for help, shouting for someone to save her amidst the chaos, despite her dry throat already screaming for her to stop.

Suddenly the door opened and all hope in Tenka’s eyes faded as it was the man in charge of her experiments that stood in front of her. He grabbed her by the collar and lifted her up, a sadistic grin plastered on his face. “You really think you can escape me little girl?”. The man cackled as he threw her to the ground and looked down at her. “You will never leave this place until I’m done perfecting you! Never–!”. His words were cut short as a blunt side of a katana hit the back of his head knocking him out cold. 

Tenka looked in fear, unsure whether he had good intentions or not,  at the man that stood before her with katana in hand. He looked as if he was in his late 30’s. He had black hair with gray eyes and was dressed in a black button up paired with black slacks. He crouched down and reached out to her, only to pull away once Tenka flinched. “Hey kid, let’s get you home hm?” He smiled while reaching her hand out to her. Tenka, once hearing this, immediately hugged him and cried in her arms - thinking she was finally saved.

The man could only look at her in pity after seeing her current state. The man walked through the facility, removing anything in his path just to make sure he brought this kid out of the building and into safety.

The middle aged man didn’t bother on reporting first to the higher ups about his mission. Making it his first priority to get home and take care of the girl. The moment he opened the door to his home, he was greeted by a gasp. His wife stood there in shock to see her husband carrying a wounded girl. She immediately rushed to them and ushered them in. “Oh my god! Is she alright? Are you injured?”. The man nodded. “I’m fine dear, but the girl… Can you help her?” He asked his wife, looking down at the child in his arms. The wife nodded and went to get supplies to help the young girl. The man walked to their spare room and laid the girl on the bed. He sat on a chair by the bedside, waiting for the woman to come in. The woman came rushing in and immediately tended to the girl. 

After tending the last of Tenka’s wounds, the woman sat and tried to talk to her husband on what happened to his mission. “Honey… What happened? Where did the girl come from?” she looked at him in concern as she put her hand on his thigh.

"I just found her there… they were keeping her – experimenting on her. Based on the files I got in their lab, it seems she has been there for 9 years, my love.." The man spoke in a sullen tone as pity paints over his wife's face. He gently but firmly held his wife's hand and looked her in the eyes. "Love.. you can say no to this but… is it okay for you to let us adopt her? This can also be a way for us to finally have the kid we always wanted…" His wife only smiled. "I'm fine with that, my love." The two looked at Tenka with a smile, ready to take care of her as if she was their own.

From that day forward, Tenka's life finally changed for the better. No longer will she wake up to the horrendous cycle she called life for the last 9 years as she was now with the two people who would bring her unconditional love and happiness.

A post-Meursault AU: Dazai w/ lower body paralysis

The Decay of Angels are defeated, and the vampirism has been reverted. The world is slowly going back to normal. The Armed Detective Agency is rebuilding their reputation in Yokohama busier than ever as they are dealing with the aftermath of the Decay of Angels, while also catching up with other work that has piled up during the situation. Dazai, Sigma and Chuuya have made it out of Meursault alive, but after falling down in the elevator, Dazai has sustained spinal injuries that have left his legs paralyzed. The injuries were more severe than he had planned for and have unexpectedly left him on bed rest for the time being with no promise of him ever walking again. With the agency busy, it means Dazai is spending most of his days in solitude, but that’s okay. He has a lot to go through after the events in Meursault.

Notes:

I can finally start posting these! For reference, I started working on these in late September, so before the last episode of season 5 was released.

The inspiration for this AU came from me seeing @luneariann’s drawing of Dazai in a wheelchair and from me rewatching Donten ni Warau at the time. At first, this was just supposed to be three redraws of Donten ni Warau anime/manga panels, but it kinda spiralled from there.

The whole thing is going to be six pictures (plus maybe some bonuses), with short story bits for each picture. The story parts are there mostly for context, so the plot isn’t going to be anything super in-depth and the ending is kinda open. Basically, don’t expect too much lmao, I just wanted to draw pretty pictures.

Also, if you haven’t watched Donten ni Warau, you need to, because how can you exist without knowing who Tenka is.

Yes I know I already did a Tenka redesign last year but then I came across this old fanart from DA portraying the character with a lanky body type resembling that of a sighthound and got inspired...

“Tenka Chorus” is the name I gave to this AU what if edit thingy imagining a sequel app to Tenka/SLBP but with the lords descendants/whatever like BMP and BMP2. Because a lot of the hellspawns timeline historically overlaps with stuff that happens in SLBP, so leaning more towards an AU I guess.

I read this one a whiiiiiile back but its like, my fave fic ever, im not even into dresden files i have no idea what happens there but the characters are interesting and the way they all interact is super interesting, the supernatural elements really blend incredibly well and THE DUELS OMG, some yugioh fics dont bother writting duels or just do the minimun but the duels here actually serve a purpose and AUGH its just so good, the author has another 5ds/marvel crossover but i have not read that one yet LOL.

ok I have better structured survival au thoughts for ysayle

when she goes to azys lla, she turns into shiva fully intending for that to be the last time because she doesn’t expect to survive. this is supposed to be a last act of good to atone for the harm she’s caused by helping the wol and allies 

she does nearly die. her survival is a close thing, but considering her body doesn’t simply dissipate in aether, someone (🤷‍♀️ I’m leaving this open-ended) goes after her in time for her to be barely alive. it probably takes a lot of healing to make sure she doesn’t die even then, and that’s like, just the immediate aftermath

specially at first, when she’s awake she has short term memory problems. not that she doesn’t remember anything, but that sometimes she forgets things, some things are not as clear, etc. as she recovers, that gets progressively better. she also sustains heavy injuries in her arms and legs, but tbf there’s probably no part of her that isn’t seriously injured somehow. the fall, coupled with the attack, means she has external and internal wounds, and she has many scars all over her body after that (they’re not the first or the only and I’d particularly like to note that although she doesn’t die bc shiva, ravana literally trespasses her with a sword and I think that definitely left a mark). ysayle also can’t walk for a time due to her legs being injured, and even after they’re fully healed, it becomes painful for her to walk very long distances/stand for prolonged periods of time. she also has to deal with chronic pain in her legs and her hands, which would have taken more damage bc if she did fall head first she would have still died lol

as a result, it takes a long time for her to recover. BUT as she plays a part as a ghost when the wol and alphi are ripping nidhogg’s eyes from estinien, I want to say against everyone’s best efforts to keep her resting and recovering, she makes the painful and difficult journey to go there to help (and she cares about estinien enough she would tbh...)

she still has months of recovery before she can properly function entirely on her own without needing more healing so I think she isn’t likely to immediately join the scions. she probably stays in ishgard, and even though she’s recovering, she already does her best to help with the reforms and the peace effort. (it would be! super odd to be there recovering and helping after how she’s looked at ishgard for so long but I do think she’s very glad to see those changes happen and she still wants to make up for what she’s done + the need for medical attention sdkfnjksdfn)

all of that is my excuse for her to be absent from storm.blood shenanigans entirely....

but with ishgard more or less doing ok, and ysayle finally being as recovered as she’s likely to be, she’d go after the scions --- the wol, specifically, because she wants to do good and so she seeks to join their ranks. as she says herself, the wol showed her the way; and she wants to fight beside them. that’s? probably somewhere during 4.4? maybe? I have to check again what happens when

I haven’t decided exactly what job I’m giving her tbh, though she’d need one since she’d no longer rely on shiva’s power. definitely something with magic. maybe summoner? maybe some type of healer? I want to make her a frost mage but that’s a class from the wrong game---

anyways, when the scions are taken to the first, she’s already working with them. BUT because I always try to not to disrupt the story much to not get in the way of other characters and such with my survival aus, I think I’ll go with her not being mistakenly taken to the first and instead staying with the others dealing with garlemald, try to help find information to help bring the others back, etc

Meet Ingo and Emmet's Great-great grandfather, Tenka Kuroichi. For those who can read kanji, you might've noticed the pun in the family name I gave with Ten (heaven) Ka (earth). Together they mean 'the world', but also wanted a name that fit the Up and Down theme.

So my headcanon for their full names would be Ingo Nobori Tenka and Emmet Kudari Tenka. Their parents decided to give them two names just in case people had difficulty saying their Sinnoh names and vice versa.

Dear Lady Tokugawa,

I hope this letter finds you well. If it did, then let me offer you my best wishes on your marriage. I am thankful that Master Hanzo has safely delivered this letter to you. At this point, it would be safe to assume that the Tokugawa Clan is now allied with yours through your union with Lord Ieyasu. I won't pretend and say that I know exactly how you feel about the situation. We are from different worlds. But I know that it takes a lot… not to run away and simply leave everything behind. I admire your bravery.

Maybe you are in Hamamatsu. There's also a possibility that you are already in Sunpu. No matter where you are, I hope you are well and comfortable. If there's anything you need, Lord Tadatsugu will always be there to help you. It is the same with Toramatsu. He is one of the kindest people I have ever met. You will find a friend in him. Lord Tadakatsu may come off as a little strange, but know that he is an excellent warrior with the most loyal heart. Have you received one of Lord Yasumasa’s infamous sneers? He’s always like that. Still, you can be sure that he holds your husband and the whole clan in very high regard.

As for Lord Ieyasu…

By now, you must have realized how much of an unorthodox conversationalist Lord Ieyasu is. At times, his words are sharp as thorns. He lashes out to the world easily… so as to shield his heart that has been broken many times before. He is excellent at pretending. It is most difficult to determine when he means what he says and when he doesn’t. His actions speak louder than his words. Spend time with him and you will know the difference between his poison smile and his real, happy smile. It is a sight to behold.

Please… take care of him. He won't let you. He just won’t. He doesn't let anyone take care of him. He has his moments, those days when every little thing seems unpleasant to him. But most of the time, all he needs is a cup of his favorite tea and a plate of strawberry daifuku. Maybe sea bream tempura, too. If there will come a day when you suddenly feel the inclination to cook his favorites for him, there is a book in the kitchen all about them. The maids will be most happy to assist you in any way should you need help.

Lord Ieyasu is ambitious. Divine Rule… I can only imagine why he decided to be the one to pursue it. But what I do know is that, one day, he will put this country back together. I hope you will get to witness that moment right by his side. Still, he may lose his way from time to time and take up his old habit of sacrificing his heart in the process. Take his hand and guide him, as his wife. I hope you become the person in his life no one could ever be. Together, the two of you will be a force to be reckoned with and achieve what others believe as the impossible.  

Once more, my sincerest felicitations on your matrimony. May the two of you lead long, prosperous lives together. I pray that you will be blessed with countless victories and that the years ahead will be filled with everlasting happiness. One day, if you find it in you that you love him—truly and completely—hold him tightly and never let go. I wish you all the best.

On a second thought, it matters not who I am. But if I may ask you for a final favor, would you please take care of the flowers for me? That is, if they are still in the garden. I heard they should be watered carefully at the roots. Vegetables aren't suitable as fertilizer, either. You may prune the leaves they no longer need. If you end up taking care of them, you have my gratitude. Soon, the flowers will bloom.

Slbp Step-Sisters AU

Slbp fans, I have a weird “what if” but just stay with me ok? What if, the two mc’s became step-sister? Like, just imagine all the hijinks that would ensue.

I wasn’t expecting my first post into the slbp fandom to be of a crack au but here we are. Excuse my handwriting and also its my first time drawing older characters as well as an injured character so I hope it turned out okay. Anyways, for this interested in my weird au, continue below the cut.

I’ll be calling the two mc’s Hana and Tsuki since I think that’s what the fandom called them. I’ll be calling Hana’s mother, Harumi and Tsuki’s Father will be called Kage (yes, I know such creative names lol). 

This whole au starts with Kage going through Kyoto to see his daughter but he gets caught by hunters. I feel like back in the day Kage would have been a pretty good ninja but its been a while since he’s done anything physical so the hunters manage to hurt him badly.

Kage is on the verge of collapse and also delirious due to the hunters using poisoned weapons but he manages to tuck himself into an alleyway and escape his pursuers.

Harumi finds him and ends up dragging him into the restaurant. She knows that helping him might put herself in danger but she wouldn’t be able to live with herself if she left someone like that.

Kage ends up being bedridden cuz of... idk, broken leg? The poison?? and despite him thinking he’d never love again, Harumi’s kindness ends up making his heart waver

Harumi’s mom also doesn’t think she’d find love again after her husband died but when she catches a glimpse if Kage’s smile, she finds her heart beating in an old familiar way

Kaede finds him in the restaurant since she helps out there occasionally and Kage ends up staying there a bit more since it’s safe (for those who know about Saizo’s connection to Hana, I lowkey feel like Saizo protects the restaurant)

Yahiko will be really happy to have a father figure in his life again

I feel like Harumi and Kage ’s relationship would be a slow and casual one

There would be a touching scene where Kage goes to visits Harumi’s dead husband with Harumi, Yahiko, and maybe Hana

Hana would get regular letters about how her mom is falling in love and maybe she’ll even meet him on a couple of occasions while Tsuki probably wouldn’t even know that her father found another woman until its like, their wedding day

Since in my au, Hana and Tsuki’s boyfriends are lord and ninja, Tsuki will recognize Hana right away but Hana won’t recognize Tsuki

Tsuki will be cautious of Hana at first cuz its too much of a coincidence that her dad fell in love with the mom of her boyfriend’s lord’s girlfriend right? It’s gotta be a trap somehow right??

It’s not a trap, surprise. Since Hana knows about Tsuki now, she’ll make an effort to get close to her when they both get back to the castle

Tsuki finds that her new step-sister is actually the most harmless thing on earth and ends up getting really protective of her new sister

Hana finds out that Tsuki is a ninja an is really accepting about that fact much to Tsuki’s surprise and delight. Hana ends up begging Tsuki to teach her cool new ninja moves and Tsuki agree but only on the condition that Hana teaches her how to cook.

They’d probably go foraging together in the mountains

These girls will end up being best friends and with the power of plot armor, nothing is going to get in the way of their friendship and happy endings

And last but not least, the scenario below but better written:

Tsuki: Hey Hana, tell ur man to not give my man any missions next week, its his bday and I wanna go on dates and be cute Hana: I gotchu fam

(I apologize if you’ve received this multiple times my internet is shitty) TenKae Coffee Shop AU

1. It starts out with Tenko being a regular at the coffee shop Kaede works at but as soon as the coffee shop is looking for extra workers Tenko applies before they can blink

2. Ryoma is their manager and half heartedly jokes about relationships in the work place but has 100 percent shipped it the first time Tenko ever came into the shop and awkwardly ordered a tea

3. Tsumugi is their most regular customer and she’s either annoyingly cheerful ordering over the top ridiculous drinks and getting into arguments with Kaede on whether the shop has a secret menu (they’re a locally owned business they don’t) or Tsumugi is a dead inside, hasn’t slept in days and has so many deadlines due so she’s ordering a black coffee with 15 shots of expresso. None of them know whether to hate or worry about Tsumugi.

4. Kaede comes up with special ‘drinks of the week’ with names referencing musical composers that only she gets but Tenko still orders one of them despite not getting the reference because it makes Kaede happy

5. After Tenko starts working at the shop Kaede can only take male customers orders half the time because Tenko keeps thinking Kaede’s going to get harassed by them

Tenko: Kaede-san is he bothering you?Kaede: no he’s just trying to get coffeeTenko: Sir if you keep bothering our workers Tenko’s going to have to ask you to leaveKaede: Tenko-san no!
