brought myself to tears thinking about luo binghe and his loneliness. during all the worst times of his life, he was alone. when his mother died, he had no one. when he was being abused on qing jing, he had ning yingying but there wasn't much she could do for him. in the abyss, he was alone. when he was grieving sqq for five years, he had subordinates but he didn't have anyone to hold him and comfort him

and it's that loneliness and isolation that xin mo capitalizes on. those feelings of loneliness and isolation make his self esteem worse and his emotional state more unstable, because deep down is a miserable and lonely child that wants to be held and comforted and love

luckily for him, all shen qingqiu wants is to hold him and comfort him and make him feel loved! I think post-canon, they'll spend a long time confronting those wounds left by loneliness, except now instead of having to bear it alone, sqq will be there to hold him in his arms and tell him I'm sorry you were hurting, I'm sorry you were alone, you never should have gone through that. and there's the promise that he won't ever have to be alone again because that's the promise sqq made to him. from now on, wherever binghe goes, shen qingqiu will follow

Charlie had been very worried about what his parents would say to him regarding his injury. Worried that they'd be upset with him for having to remain in Hogwarts because of his injury.

And the thing is, Charlie wasn't misbehaving at all when he got injured. He was careless, but not misbehaving.

So what words exactly would Snape have had to them regarding this accident?

Words that have made them so mad that mentioning that Snape (and saying he was nice to us earlier) immediately gets the two cross again, and has Molly mad at him for the rest of the event, being exceptionally mean about him (saying she isn't surprised he wouldn't have got any gifts)?

You know what I think?

I think Snape went to stand up for Charlie.

I bet he told them that their child was far too worried about disappointing them when he was injuried. I bet he called them out for putting too much pressure on their oldest children (both Bill and Charlie are worried about disappointing their parents and feel a lot of responsibility towards the youngest). I bet he went and told them to their faces that they were the problem, and not Charlie. And I bet all this because of how mad they are at him. If he'd said 'Your child is a clumsy oaf because of how you raised him', neither of them would have been this mad about it. Annoyed, yes, but they would have also told Charlie off too. But because they're so irrationally mad with him, I think what he said to them was 'Your child is under far too much pressure from you, he was more worried about you being disappointed in him than his own injury, what the hell are you doing to these kids'.

He called them out and they're mad at him for it.

okay so @lordofthesoups said nyarlathotep cultist Arthur once and I’m taking it and running.

Kayne’s bored. He’s passing through universes, he’s killing all versions of himself, he’s dissecting different Arthur’s left and right like the guy’s a frog. But he’s bored as hell.

so why not fuck up a timeline? Why not shadow Arthur’s footsteps his whole life, get to him before Parker does. Kayne’s his savior, thank you, now get on your knees.

Arthur never recovers the way he does with Parker, and Kayne has no intention of letting him. He leads Arthur to a cult in his name, whispering pretty words in his ear. Salvation doesn’t work, but the opportunity to forget sure does.

Arthur’s a drunk. And hey, drugs were rampant in the dirty corners of the city, and they made Arthur quiet.

Kayne is his god now, and he’s feeling a little less bored. This Arthur ate from his palm now, worshipped his name, and things were looking up for Kayne.

now this all stemmed from an idea where Arthur is on his knees weakly calling out for Kayne, intoxicated out of his fucking mind, and Kayne ignores him until he breaks

however if we’re asking for proper plot, there could be the Parker comes in guns blazing etc etc. OR we can move to good old New York and the police bust the area (cue Detective Noel)

and we can have like a Noel/Oscar/Arthur situation trying to reverse all the damage Kayne had done to him

don’t- don’t ask what happened to John in this universe I don’t know

we can keep Soup’s bellaverse route but that’s their thing and I’m not gonna fuck with their perfect au (promise promise)

This seems to be an uncommon opinion but thank god SSO is making (what appears to be) serious headway into the story.

For years it felt like it had stalled out. It was valid wanting main characters and villains to be visually updated before continuing, but it slowed things down.

I'm glad they aren't going "we need to update Mr. Sands, Darko is a pretty old model compared to the Dark Riders, Avalon really needs an update, so does Pi, etc"

Because yes it absolutely would look better if everyone had the same number of polygons. And yes it WOULD be great if SSO picked up those threads mentioned throughout the main story. But if they did that and got all those map areas that had been brought up in the story quests then it'd be another 10 years of filler in the main story until they can 'wrap up'

And honestly I'm tired of waiting. This isn't even an impatience thing, this is a "I've played this game for 10+ years and at this point I don't care how it's wrapped up, as long as it IS wrapped up."

Probably helps that I don't expected a 'satisfying' ending from SSO, I just want AN ending to the main story. I expect Garnok to be 'defeated' and for the Soul Riders to be victorious, probably through the power of friendship. That's all I'm expecting.
