Lady C Tea YouTube 1/9/24 (a few nuggets paraphrased by me) by u/daisybeach23
Lady C Tea YouTube 1/9/24 (a few nuggets paraphrased by me) Greetings from Castle Goring,Lady C, I can’t wait to hear your comments on the Golden Globe disaster for MoneyGan and Harry’s continuing decline. – LOL…..AH HA…..LOL….oh dear. Oh dear. Well, I am going to tell you a secret. Gina Torres cast some serious shade when she says the Suits cast has been involved in serious group texting. Then she said that she does not have Meghan’s number. Do we believe this? Isn’t Abigail Spencer her friend? Doesn’t she have Meghan’s number. Doesn’t Ari Emmanel have Meghan’s number? Doesn’t Ted Sarandos have Meghan’s number? Why is she unattainable? I will tell you a friend of mine who is connected to “everybody in Toronto” said that Meghan is loathed in Canada. She has a reputation that is undesirable. She let everyone know how undesirable they all were because she was being courted by a Prince and she was going to become a Duchess. Meghan was not popular on the set of Suits. The more successful she became, the more impossible she became. Is it any surprise she is not welcome in the group? Also, isn’t she a bit long in the tooth to be playing the ingenue? Isn’t she too old to be lapping it up in the supply room with Patrick J. Adams? As for the Golden Globe awards, there were some amazing jokes. One joke about Harry and Meghan getting paid millions by Netflix for doing nothing. Another joke about Imelda Staunton’s portrayal of the Queen on the Crown being so good that Harry called her and asked for money. And then it also came out that Sandhurst has released a book of its 200 most notable attendees. Harry was left out of the book and William was included and wrote the foreword. They have left out a blood Prince who served for 10 years and they were very proud of him initially. Oh dear. This year is not off to a good start. I can’t wait for whatever else is coming and I know some of what is coming. Just desserts.Lady C, Meghan’s biography on the Harry Walker website is beyond grandiose. Have you read it? I have. I don’t know why are waiting for the Messiah to come again when we have Meghan.Lady C, I don’t think Meghan will ever divorce Harry because she is technically in waiting to become Queen if there is an accident. She probably daydreams of this scenario. She will never allow Harry to leave her. We have to wait and see what happens. I am not a fortune teller. I have witnessed similar relationships. Harry is caught in the jaws of a Barracuda. Have you seen her teeth? I am not making any predictions. This observation is a valid one.Lady C spoke more about Prince Andrew’s Epstein scandal, the post office scandal in the UK, King Charles upcoming visit to Australia and concerns he will be too political regarding climate change.Toodles Sinners! post link: https://ift.tt/OymaICj author: daisybeach23 submitted: January 10, 2024 at 12:15AM via SaintMeghanMarkle on Reddit

Buch 11: “Who I Am Not” von Ted Staunton
Meine Bewertung: ★★★☆☆ (3/5)
Genre: Jugendroman
Da also Vorsicht!

Director - Michael Mann, Cinematography - Dante Spinotti
"You know, we are sitting here, you and I, like a couple of regular fellas. You do what you do, and I do what I gotta do. And now that we've been face to face, if I'm there and I gotta put you away, I won't like it. But I tell you, if it's between you and some poor bastard whose wife you're gonna turn into a widow, brother, you are going down."

Have you watched Trying, with Rafe Spall and Esther Smith? It's quite cute, and has the odd character part for folks like Imelda Staunton and Phil Davis. Dunno, thought of you, figured I'd ask; maybe because it's a little British dramedy show.
I have not! it's apple tv+ isn't it? because I don't have that (which is why i've also not started ted lasso). i've seen the trailer I think and looking at the cast list I can see why you're mentioning it. perhaps i'll have to give it a go. thanks for the recommendation!
#anonymous#i like that you thought of me how nice#i was wondering what navin chowdhry was up to the other day and there's my answer

I spent way too much thinking about what kind of daemons the Ted Lasso characters would have, cause I’m trying to write an AU fanfic for this. But I’ve hit a huge case of writer’s block, so I’m posting this here cause I might as well share it.
Ted: Golden retriever.
Daemon Name: Olympia. (“Oly” for short.) Named for Ted’s love for sports.
Reason for Daemon Form: Golden retrievers are friendly, gentle, energetic, patient, and intelligent (especially bc some people focus on the animal’s friendliness, rather than intelligence, like they do with Ted).
Rebecca: Arctic fox.
Daemon Name: Tannin. This is found in tea (one of her favorite drinks) and is very bitter (which is how we find her at the start of the series).
Reason for Daemon Form: Intelligent, sly, and is both predator (her initial role in Ted and Higgins’ lives) and prey (when she is around Rupert).
Note: Rather than go with a normal fox, I liked the idea of an Arctic fox cause I thought the white fur would go nicely with Rebecca’s light blonde hair. Rebecca, who is very conscientious of how she appears to others, would prefer a daemon that matches her.
*
Beard: Red panda.
Daemon Name: Staunton. This is the chess set used in competitions, and is probably the best-known form of chess pieces.
Reason for Daemon Form: Solitary, quiet, and are only aggressive when they truly need to be (aka Beard in 1x09).
Note: Did I choose a red panda for Beard cause I thought it matched his personality? Yes. Did I also choose it cause I thought it was cute for Beard to have a daemon that matched his beard and hair? Also yes.
*
Roy: Black wolf.
Daemon Name: Bia. The name of the Greek goddess of power, force, and anger. Also sister to Nike, the goddess of victory.
Reason for Daemon Form: Appears intimidating to outsiders, but is protective and warm with his “pack”.

Book Review: Who I'm Not
Reader: Michelle M.
Age: 15
Title: Who I'm Not
Author: Ted Staunton
Publisher: Orca Book Publishers
Pub Date: 10/01/13
Galley: Yes
Top 25: Yes
Convince us to read the book: This book was amazing. The plot was very descriptive but it kept you hanging, and the character development was very strong. The main character goes from a boy struggling to make money through simple cons, to pretending to be a missing child named "Danny," to an assistant in a police investigation. The story flowed very well and was a very engrossing read, hooking you in from the first pages.
Memorable or Forgettable: The style of the writing is what kept me reading. "Danny" is very mysterious, the only thing revealed to the reader is that he is a foster child who was moved around a lot. But despite the lack of knowledge of the character, you grow attached to him quickly. He is very enigmatic and complex, and the danger of getting caught always hangs over him, which makes the book a thrill.
Cover: I thought the cover was interesting and very eye-catching. It reflected the contents very well; the boy covering his face and putting on a mask.
Age Range: 12 through 17
Quality: 5Q Hard to imagine a better book
Popularity: 4P Broad general teen appeal
Annotation: It's easy to believe your own lies; after adopting the identity of a missing child, "Danny" finds himself accepted by the family as the child they lost; but really, who is conning who? This situation ends up far more elaborate and mysterious than anyone might have believed, especially when the threat of murder is thrown into the mix.

JIM CARTER MY LIFE IN TRAVEL When he’s not on a gruelling charity bike ride, the actor is happy with his books and a sun lounger pretty much anywhere THE WORST CYCLING DAY I’ve had was on a trip from Chile to Argentina. Despite riding downhill, I was having to pedal hard into heavy winds and rain. The sun finally came out when we reached Bariloche, in the Andean foothills. I’ve been an avid cyclist since I was 10 and I try to do at least one charity bike ride abroad a year between November and February. AN ELDERLY MAN IN LYCRA is not my favourite look, but cycling is a great way of getting fit and a real motivation to shift a few pounds. THE DALES ARE A BEAUTIFUL PLACE to cycle and the Tour de Yorkshire has been a real success for tourism there. I’m thrilled that cycling is gaining more interest – and not just the Tour de France. There’s also the Vuelta in Spain and the Giro d’Italia. THE MOST REMOTE PLACE I’ve been is cycling off-road 20 years ago from Aqaba in Jordan across the desert. We visited Mount Nebo and then, after Petra, rode down towards Roberts Rock and the Red Sea. ALL I COULD HEAR was total silence when I stopped for a moment; not the hum of an insect nor a breeze in the vegetation. It really struck me because you never hear silence. IT’S NOT JUST SERIOUS CYCLING though. Last summer I did a four-day bike tour with friends around the Carcassonne hills in Languedoc. We’d booked little unassuming hotels along the way. Lunch at a vineyard was always a welcome break. IT FELT LIKE I WAS LEVITATING while filming Swimming with Men. I’m also a keen swimmer, so I appeared to be the most buoyant person in the world – the unsinkable Jim Carter, everyone joked. I’M NOT AN ALL-ACTION MAN at all – give me four books and a lounger, then I’m happy. I love staying in London in the summer, even though I’m celebrating my big 70th birthday this August, as we’d miss the garden in full bloom if we went away. I hate the gloom of January, so we spent two weeks in the Maldives this year. I VOWED TO EXPLORE the world with my wife Imelda [Staunton, the actress] when we got married in 1983. I let work typically take me to cities, while Imelda and I then head to wherever there’s sunshine. I’ve never regretted spending on holidays. One of our first was to Kenya, on safari. I REMEMBER WANDERING every evening round the bay at Kiwaya, our favourite resort on the Kenyan coast, quite close to the Somali border; baboons would come down out of the sand dunes and play in the water. It offered complete barefoot luxury with hammocks as well as straw huts with open windows. Sadly the resort was shut down due to a spate of kidnappings and murders in the area. I’D BE HAPPY NEVER TO VISIT another cathedral, but in Venice just sitting in a café with a cappuccino or white wine, and watching the world go by, is bliss. I loved Venice. Getting up at 5.30am, cruising through the deserted canals and seeing the city slowly come alive was magical. THE HOLIDAY OF MY LIFETIME was three weeks in New Zealand three years ago. We started on a little island off Auckland, Waiheke, famed for its vineyards and fine food, and stayed at the Boatshed – one of my favourite hotels for its laid-back service. AUSSIES CAN BE DISMISSIVE of Tasmania, but the best art gallery and museum I’ve been to is on the island. Culturally it’s a midpoint between Australia and New Zealand. Mona, the Museum of Old and New Art, was built on a clifftop by a local working-class guy called David Walsh. You get a trendy camouflaged ferry from Hobart over to it. THE ODDEST PLACE I’ve been recognised was in Angkor Wat in Cambodia during a charity bike ride. Forty Chinese tourists went by and one stopped and exclaimed, “Oh, Mr Carson”. I was gobsmacked to be recognised from Downton Abbey in such a remote place. Even when I’m in shorts and flip-flops, I get recognised. ONE OF MY FAVOURITE MEMORIES is celebrating my birthday at the Airds Hotel in Port Appin on the west coast of Scotland. I’d been at the Edinburgh Festival before travelling on to Ullapool and staying at the Ceilidh Place, a restaurant/hotel/music venue run by the actor Robert Urquhart. IT WAS INCREDIBLY PEACEFUL to walk through the fields down to the shore and watch the cattle grazing. When the sun breaks out and the heather gets lit up, it’s as beautiful as anywhere in the world. MY IDEA OF HEAVEN is an escape to the Greek islands, where we’re off to this month, getting up early for a swim, reading, scraping together a picnic and wandering to a tavern for grilled fish and a bottle of wine. Jim Carter’s latest film, is out on Friday. Source: The Daily Telegraph - Travel

Finding Your Feet (2018)
Finding Your Feet is aimed at an older audience, the cast are all seniors and the plot has been around for so long and is so familiar its edges have been worn down. There are appealing moments but you’re not going to remember this film down the line, making it a solely for those late in their years who want something comfortable.
After Sandra (Imelda Staunton) learns that her husband of 40 years (John Sessions as Mike) has been having an affair, she moves in with her estranged sister, Bif (Celia Imrie). Stuck in her ways and busy lamenting the life she’s lost, she slowly sees her new situation as an opportunity thanks to her newfound friends at a dancing class (Timothy Spall as Charlie, Joanna Lumley as Jackie and David Hayman as Ted).
It’s a romantic drama/comedy with old people, meaning the clichés we find in all romantic comedies that aren’t trying to break the mould are accompanied by the tropes you’ve seen numerous times if you caught the likes of Going in Style, The Last Word or even The Leisure Seeker just a few weeks ago. People struggle with new technology while marveling at the concept of going viral, Sandra begins to realize retirement isn't the end, and eventually – surprise, surprise – somebody reveals they’re dying. There’s nothing necessarily wrong with these tropes. I’m never going to grow old but for those who will, those are realistic elements and they help differentiate Finding Your Feet from the stories of mid 20-somethings looking for love. Between these and the obligatory plot points, you find in every romantic comedy, however, the film still lacks an identity. I’m doing it again but can’t help bringing up Meditation Park from earlier this year. That film had a quality that made it appeal to anyone watching. This one, not so much.
To its credit, Finding Your Feet showcases actors who are quite good in their roles and prove again that just because you’re getting up there in the years, doesn’t mean you shouldn’t be featured on the big screen. The chemistry between Sandra and Charlie makes you cheer for them to get together and move past the drama that’s holding them back, so the romance works. There are enough good laughs to carry you through. It’s predictable, but also charming, warm and crowd-pleasing.
If you hear the premise of Finding Your Feet and feel intrigued, then you’re probably the person this movie is targeting, and you’ll enjoy yourself. If you don’t feel compelled, I’m not going to try and sell this picture to you. You could do much worse, but I’d urge you to check out some of the better films playing before you see Finding Your Feet. (Theatrical version on the big screen, April 15, 2018)
