Hey so, like i had this angst idea of if ganondorf was a good guy, someone else would have the evil mantle thrust upon them. Like if ganondorf had an s/o and something happened, like demise's curse just hopped to them as a different approach to finally win. On anon bc, shy.

Allow me to take that a step further in this angst of ours - and consider this: Demise's curse and that evil that is him takes Ganondorf's significant other...as punishment.

There was so much blood.

It shouldn't have been this way. The Gerudo chief stared down at his sullied fingers, the ruby red atrocity smeared thick across his palms and dribbling down his forearms. His lungs held no room for air. He could not scream. He did not do this. And yet there was no one else who could have. Amber eyes scanned their lifeless body, limbs splayed out in an unnatural state - irises darkened by the haze of death. There would be no more laughter. No more late night kisses or day trips to the market. There would be no sand seal rides, no midday spars, no evening moon watches. He tried with everything he had to be unlike his ancestors. To be righteous. To change the narrative of destruction and murder to one of peace and prosperity. To be the Chieftain the women of Gerudo Town deserved.

Still in his sorrow and heartache was he, leaned over the body of his beloved. His mouth did not move. His body would not budge. And then there was fire. Shadow followed suit. Hatred was third in line. Standing in front of him, an amalgamation of all these evil spirited things, was his own figure. Red eyes aglow, aura radiating pure malice - his own spectral body looked down upon him. "You cannot run from your destiny, boy...your kismet is eternally sealed." The ungodly grit of an evil so ancient, the voice he had tried to shake from birth, was speaking to him now. Crimson drank in the carnage of his host's loss. "My power is meant for only one in this world...and no matter where you think" the shadow's emphasis on the last word was spat with disdain, "You can run to," a dark hand waded slowly through the air stopping at the sunken head of the body below them both, "I will always leave my ruin."

The Gerudo felt wetness slide down his cheeks, though his face remained stoic. The curse meant to doom him. Just like his ancestors. Just as it will his descendants. Demise's destruction was a continuous cycle. He was nothing more than a pawn. No amount of good he would do in his life, no amount of good he'd do in the world...would undo his birthright. Inky appendages outstretched in front of his face, "Let this be your only lesson, Ganondorf," and the latter looked up to meet the eyes of his fate, "I am without end." His destiny - the very thing he tried so hard to change...took everything from him. With nothing left in him but defeat, Ganondorf slowly raised a hand. His palm fell into that of his duplicate, his acceptance to fall from grace. Power surged into his body at once in tremendous overwhelm, the darkness enclosing around his heart in a final, solid embrace. Ganondorf, the demon king, who once loved with good intentions, would drown in the fullness of the blood moon.
