Holymoly, those new spoilers make me facepalm so hard...

Why the heck is Goha Company suddenly growing according to the ep 121 spoiler? When did that happen? During the time Yudias and co. were gone to find Yuamu? Already after Yuamu vanished? Actually between ep 120 and 121??? Also why can Yuna suddenly send Zeyet to the Kamijo's? Since when does Zeyet listen to someone who isn't a Darkmen/Yuamu? Is she brainwashed or did losing to Rovian make her suddenly switch sides? And is she gonna duel Luge or Epoch? Luge hasn't dueled for a while (and he'd be the last GR main antag to get a duel this arc) but Epoch being part of the main squad also gives her "more relevance" to duel I guess.

Manabu vs Phaser is a duel I wanted to see but the timing is kinda odd. Is ally vs ally needed rn? But I guess the writers couldn't find any other opponent for Manabu for this arc so they go for Phaser and have MIK on the line for that. While I would love to see Manabu defeating Phaser, I think Phaser will win but eventually agree with Manabu that MIK shouldn't merge with Goha. That would be just a typical Rush era anime twist. (loser still kinda gets what they want)

Sabyuas vs Fukamura... well, have fun with your 4th L, Sabyuas. Honestly, this would technically be an interesting duel if it wasn't for such a dumb reason. Why is freaking soy sauce the focus and not just Fukamura questioning Yuamu in general which pisses Sabyuas off?

Ep 124 being called "Mask of Deception"... Well, the 'mask' part would make me think of Menjaburo due to his deck but Idk if they still care for him to duel. 'Deception' could be for either Yuamu or Yuna and the latter hasn't dueled yet. Actually, I would like Menjaburo vs Yuna considering he used to be "more attached" to her than Rovian since Yuna was the one impressing and convincing him to join the Rovian Bandits.

Btw: Bruyea still hasn't dueled in this arc when Sabyuas, Fukamura and Zeyet all have 2 duels confirmed. They either really don't want to give him anything or it has to be ep 125 or 126 since ep 127-128 are likely the arc final.

Ngl, I'm not a fan how besides Yuamu's bs to become Otes and erasing memories, we now have to deal with Goha Company rising in the same arc. Like couldn't that have waited for the next arc? Or was that needed to "foreshadow" Yuna as the next main antag?

last movie you watched: the new hunger games!! went to see it at the cinema with two friends :) it was good, unsettling exactly where it needed to be (which was. most of the time LOL) and its managed to pull off the 'act as a standalone but still have room for a sequel if someone wanted to' balance v well. and id watch a sequel! but overall i cant lie i prefer the original trilogy...

currently watching: house md on my own, im on season 7 rn and [spoilers] have finally left huddy hell. i love masters btw my friend masters ❤️she just had her first main pov ep and it was a good un. im also watching doctor who when mine gustes and peris schedules line up, and also taskmaster with guste :)

other things you’ve watched this year: ummmm lots but some of my faves are still across the spiderverse, also limitless and alien, and also american psycho but thats sort of from last year, i watched it nye with nami and it hit 2023 like halfway through for me LOL

currently reading: money by martin amis!! its good ive read time's arrow by him before too. he's got a fun way of writing but idk how i feel about him putting himself as a character in this one lol???!!! also i guess i technically have a few other books on the go too but tbh im not actively reading them... btw if anyone wants my goodreads send me a dm !!! i would love more friends on there

currently listening to: my albums 2023 playlist which is um. 1500 songs strong still. i swear ive listened to plenty its just that i keep adding more oopsy doopsy

currently working on: editing my longish nrmts fic so that i can finally start the last three out of ten chappys.... problem is is that im doing this mostly at work when the bars quiet LOL. im also trying to draw more frequently!! ive made it as easy and low stakes as possible for myself (using a biro in some small lined notebook, means i dont get fixated on making things look perfect and also means i dont need to fill up too much space to finish a full page) but its still a habit in progress ....

current obsession: honestly probably the gym. im following what i guess based on exercises and number of sets and reps would be considered a powerbuilding program?? october saw me doing proper strength building work for the first time Ever rather than just hypertrophy/muscle building and ive finally started doing bench press using an actual barbell rack set up!!! and i really like it :P

What has been the BL that took you by surprise this year?

Love In The Air!

I remember watching the pilot trailer when it aired but truthfully I forgot about this show until everyone started talking about it again 😅 Anyways... I fell in love so fast it’s not even funny. My mental health has been meh at best the past few months and I needed a show like LITA to just watch without having to really think :) Also the cast? Like?! In love with all four of them (especially Noeul).

The Eclipse!

I watched ep 1 when it first came out but never continued the show because I wasn’t feeling it (little did I know 🤡). Everyone was hyping this show up so I made myself sit down and watch it... ended up binging all 6 (aired) episodes and safe to say I was hooked... I mean if anyone on here saw my blog you were probably fed up of me talking about this show (very sorry). So yeah... It’s now one of my favourite BLs. We won’t talk about the cast because I will never stop, lets just say I am now a Neo and khaotung fanpage!  

This technically doesn’t count but I finally watched Bad Buddy this year and I’m mad at myself for waiting so long.

What has been the BL that you felt a bit disappointed with this year?

Cutie Pie- I didn’t dislike it but I found myself getting bored and skipping a lot, especially towards the end... shout out to Perth in that black shirt tho😏 Also loved the side couples

Even Sun- Listen I will do anything for BounPrem but lord I was struggling with this one. Why was the intro so long?! also who wrote the script because ooft. Skipped everything apart from the BounPrem scenes. 

What has been your favourite BL this year?

KinnPorsche- Lets all act surprised! This show was my entire personality all summer and the reason I came back to tumblr lol. Met so many lovely and amazing people because of this show and it will always have a special place in my heart. It also gave us the masterpiece that is Why Don’t You Stay aka my most played song of 2022. Again the cast is everything to me! 

Semantic Error- No explanation needed for this one really. I swear Seoham has been in the military for years! Why is it going so slowly?! 

Between Us- Are we only 4 episodes in? Yes. Do I care? NOPE! After waiting almost 3 years they could just stand in that locker room arguing for 12 episodes and I would still watch every second! As much as i tried not to, I did and still do have high expectations for this show BUT so far everything is perfect- I don’t really care about Team’s friends as characters or the relationship between Bee and Prince? but I also don’t hate it.

New all mix ep is making me scream. Okay. So.

The part when maho was listening to the demo of peaky around!! and then she realized that rei could've just sent it to her but rei saying that she wanted to see her reaction paralleling maho and rinku at the beginning of first mix when maho wanted to see rinku's reaction to her remix is MAKING ME EXPLODE. AH. AJZJXJS.

Also rinku training up w dalia, ibuki, and yuka paralleling the part in first mix where she too, technically trained under yuka but this time she had dalia and ibuki w her is AAAAJCIDISJ.

AND THEN. And then the part w muni where she's drawing and notices her ring fit adventure rip off controller thing on the ground and instead of training herself up like rinku she decides to stick w drawing bc 'it's better to focus on the things you can do today than the things you cant' and then they show a drawing of younger rinku on muni's tablet is AICIXHSHJCSJ. Muni is better at drawing then dancing, so she decides to hone her vjing for YUKA IS AAAA.

AND THEN AND THEN shinobu gets the demo and the demo makes her SMILE AND SAY THAT THIS IS THE FIRST TIME IN A WHILE SINCE A TRACK MADE HER WANT TO GET BETTER AND THEY SHOW THE SCENE OF YOUNGER SHINOBU LISTENING TO KYOKO'S TRACK IS AAAAAAAAAAAAA.

AND THEN THE SONG WAS SO SWAG. THE SONG WAS AMAZING. IT WAS SO SWAGULAR. I WANT THE FULL VERSION.

There are probably other details that caught my eye while watching that I cant say rn bc I'm super giddy still but YEAH. THIS. I LOVE THIS. YES.

alr i have unfortunately not been able to stop thinking about puppet history and i came up with a possible explanation for ryan's "business" with the genie at the end of ep 6. so all we know from the ep is that ryan gets the lamp and uses at least 1 wish to get prof back. there's also the genie's line about doing business with ryan. im assuming for now that it means he used smth other than a wish to get prof back. but what could he have possibly offered the genie in that moment?

[im thinking that ryan offered the genie a chance to undo the wish IF ryan wins an episode of the show. we know from s4 that if the person with the lamp unwishes smth, the genie is able to take the wish away. now, why does it matter that it would come if ryan wins? ryan, according to the algorithm, has never officially won an episode. being 31 episodes into the show without a win, it would definitely seem like a statistical wonder if he won. also smth plot important usually happens when he wins

i think its going to backfire at the end though because has anything good ever happened when ryan has won. now, having no way of possibly knowing what will happen next season, this is all speculation. however, i think that bc prof and ryan are on good terms, ryan is going to win an ep (either the penultimate one or finale) and it's going to serve as the catalyst for the genie's return. i also think it will usher in the substitute's return

i think the genie and the sub are going to team up at the end because they'd benefit from helping each other. the genie hates prof and masterminded a whole deal just to get rid of him (yes i think he was the head of that deal and i could elaborate but not rn). hes def not happy about being forced to resurrect him on a technicality. and then the sub obv hates ryan and probably does even more so now after the finale. its a match made in hell and i think theyd team up to get rid of ryan and prof

oh shoot i think i may have forgotten to mention it (pls ignore this if i did) but literally, what could ryan have offered to the genie other than something bad happening if he won. he just fist fought a hologram that was trying to murder him, i doubt that he wouldve been able to come up with something that has literally no statistical possibilities. besides, wanting to win an ep got him into this whole mess in the first place, it would make sense if he didnt want to win anymore]

hii!! thanks so much for the ask! ive been thinking about the points you've made and i think i finally got my thoughts together so that they'll (hopefully) make sense.

ok! so! im not sure if ryan did have to offer something to the genie. in my understanding of genie lore (which is Very limited) i dont think that genies can outright refuse wishes. so i dont belive that ryan had to offer anything. HOWEVER! genies can interpret and mess around with the wish if they feel like it. unless ryan isnt aware of this, (which is possible) its possible ryan did offer something to convince the genie not to mess around with his wish. the problem is what does ryan have to offer? it could be as simple as if the genie needs a favor, ryan has to help out. I feel like that gives us the most options on where the lore takes us.

i honestly dont know if ryan is going to win in future seasons. my guess is that he wont lmao. listen! its a complex victory algorithm!! the professor probably doesnt have that much control over it!! (although i can see the professor saying that he balanced the victory algorithm and ryan still loses lmao) if ryan DOES win, it will absolutely backfire and it'l be hilarious.

GENIE AND SUB TEAM UP GENIE AND SUB TEAM UP!!! YES YES YES I LOVE IT!! they definitely can help eachother out and it would be incredible to see!! i can see ryan and the professor teaming up after the genie and sub team up! also if ryan has this secret deal with the genie, it would complicate this whole team up thing more becuase if ryan doesnt help thr genie the genie might be able to rekill the professor (or send him back in time, or to the wonderium arena).

i also think theres gonna have to be something that leads to getting the puppets out of the wodnerium arena. im not sure about that yet.

anyways, yeah! thats my thoughts on the direction the lore can be taking. we'll see what happens!

Currently Reading: False Value by Ben Aaronovitch, one of the books from the RIvers of London series, which I’m finally making some progress on. The beginning confused me and put me off for a bit, but now that I’ve read further I actually like it so far. Also still technically reading Persuasion by Jane Austen but whether I’ll ever actually finish... debatable. Also also still Star Trek Destiny. (One day I’ll finish reading a book in less than a month. But this is not the day.)

Current Obsession: Still Midam, lol. For a moment I obsessed over the remake of Dragon Quest Builders (for the Switch). I played Dragon Quest Builders 2 almost religiously after I first got it, and I thought that would happen with the remake of 1 too. But the chapter I’m playing rn is kinda meh. (Get me outta this swamp.)

Bro there’s something so precious about Malleus and Yuu’s friendship that I think I can finally put into words now. (And it’s not just me projecting I swear hear me out.)

Almost every single interaction Yuu/Mc has with Malleus, has been when Yuu was vulnerable in some way. (At the time I’m writing this, episode 5 has been out for a while.) ep 5 spoilers!! (And the other chapters lol)

So their first meeting. In episode 2. Yuu just spent the day searching for the culprit behind the injuries to no avail. Not only that, they and their buddies got their asses handed to them I. Magift. They take a breather outside, feeling tired from the long day. They’re even pondering about whether or not they’ll be getting home. (It’s one of the dialogue options.)

And then boom, Malleus appears. He doesn’t do anything Expect be like, “crap my abandoned building’s no longer abandoned :(” but he does manage to distract Yuu from their thoughts, albeit unintentionally. Still, it was a strange encounter, which leaves Yuu curious for more.

Despite Ramshackle dorm technically no longer being abandoned, Malleus still visits it again in episode 3. Here, Yuu is even more vulnerable. They are completely alone, worried that they might become homeless because of their deal with Azul. Malleus appears. Yuu calls him by his strange nickname and Malleus laughs. Never expecting anyone to call him that. He asks Yuu what’s wrong. Yuu explains and he listens.

Malleus is worried, although I feel at this point is mainly more because he likes his abandoned buildings. He talks about gargoyles with Yuu. He originally didn’t have any other intentions other than he just liked talking about them. However, once again he managed to distract Yuu from falling to deep into their negative thoughts and unintentionally gave them advice.

After they get the dorm back, Yuu thanks Malleus for the advice, and Malleus is surprised because he never intended it to be advice. He’s surprised this little human managed to outsmart Azul, and is also surprised that he was helpful to them. I think this was the moment that Malleus started to see Yuu as his friend.

At the end of episode 4, he gives us a holiday card. Yuu isn’t vulnerable in this situation, however this was the only gift that they received over the holidays. (Unless you count crowleys feast). He signed the card M.D. He wants to get closer to Yuu, little by little. A part of him probably likes the secrecy of someone not even knowing who his true identity is. But he also wants to be closer with them.

And then episode 5, some of the best malleus x Yuu content we have rn. First off, again with the Malleus appears right when Yuu is about to spiral into negative/confusing thoughts. Before, Yuu was in their room, thinking about Mickey and the mirror. Maybe not negative, but certainly vulnerable to me. They look out the window and see small green lights that looks like fireflies. And they know. They simply know who it is and their first reaction is to go outside to see him.

At this point, Yuu and Malleus see each other as friends. Their presence is enough to cheer the other up (ik its hard to know yuus emotions but do you go out to see someone you hate in the cold of night? No) Malleus smiles when he sees Yuu. Yuu then gives Malleus the VDC ticket and asks if he would go with them.

This moment is huge. Mainly for Malleus. Yuu is one of the very few, if not only people who don’t treat him any different because of his title as prince. And even so, they’re probably the only person Malleus and consider an equal. He has Silver, Sebek and Lilia, and he definitely cares about them. By those relationships have a power dynamic of sorts. With Silver and Sebek serving Malleus, and with Lilia being a parental figure to Malleus. Yuu and Malleus doesn’t have any power dynamic, they are both equals when they are together.

And of course, Malleus barely gets invited to events such as these because everyone’s so intimidated by him. (For good reason but still.) Not to mention that he grew up isolated (see his Birthday SSR) and has grown used to being alone. And yet here is this human, fearlessly inviting him to a concert as a friend. He even asks if they’re performing and is disappointed when he finds out that they’re just the manager. I just find that cute.

And the next day, Lilia comes to Yuu to thank them for inviting them, because of how happy Malleus was. Just...imagine Malleus arriving at the dorms late, holding the VDC ticket in his hand. Sebek probably stayed up late to wait for him and began to scold him, you know Sebek being Sebek. And Malleus just calmly apologizes and goes to his room and Sebek is confusion because Malleus usually is like “you don’t need to complain sm about me, I’m fine” (it’s hard to describe it. He’s not bratty he just wants Sebek to chill lol) but Lilia sees this and noticed the ticket in Malleus’s hand and is like “ho ho ho” like the far dad he is.

That strayed into headcanon/fic territory I’m so sorry.

Anyways, back to canon. Malleus arriving at the VDC stage after the overblot fight. Again, Yuu is vulnerable in some way. In this way, they’re most likely tired from fighting ANOTHER overblot. And then they see Malleus, who arrived two hours earlier, probably bc they really wanted to see Yuu, and they’re so happy! And we know this bc one of the dialogue options is simply “Tsunotaro!” So we know that Yuu was definitely walking up to Malleus with a smile on their face without a care in the world. (And freaking everyone else)

Malleus and Yuu seem to have this ability to rid the presence of any negativity when they’re together. Their presence is enough to sooth each other. Not to mention that even after (finally) realizing Malleus’s true identity, they’re reaction was basically, “holy crap are you serious? Ok.” They are as chill as always.

Yuu is even worried that Malleus wouldn’t want them calling him by his nickname anymore (one of the dialogue options is “am I not allowed to call you Tsunotaro anymore?” But Malleus simply smiles and says “no it’s fine.”

It’s just...the fact that Malleus was most likely worried that Yuu would change the way they acted around Malleus, and that worried just went “poof” in a matter of seconds...it’s just so pure man.

Malleus and Yuu’s relationship really feels like two inexperienced people finding solace and discovering friendship with one another and the beauty that brings. Of course Yuu doesn’t really have a backstory (as they’re mainly there for the player to insert themselves in) and they have Ace, Deuce and friends that they definitely care about. However, this world is still new to them, and their relationships with Ace, Deuce and the other characters are also growing. And with Malleus, well, he’s completely new to friendship like this, and is still learning. He may be hundreds of years old, but he’s still considered a teenager in fae years. (Species age differently, like what that droid said in The Mandolorian)

In conclusion, whether you ship it platonically or romantically or you’re like Leona and hate Malleus’s guts, I want what Malleus and Yuu have. And I am both excited and terrified for what the future brings them.

yeah! I technically have liked their stuff casually since their debut but I never really decided to stan them until last month! so I listened to their discography and watched their show and I’m a full blown moa now haha 😂😂😂 and yeah I’m technically a yeonbin bias tbh but they’re all so cute I just add on that I’m an ot5 lover too bc god they’re all so sweet and talented 😭 soobean’s eye smile is absolutely adorable and his laugh 😩 pls if you ever wanna see how cute he is the section after this fancam is so adorable here (safe link of soobin’s fancam from magic)

i started watching their to do episodes recently and that really sold me!! (making my way through the rest of the eps these days lol) i watched the lotte world one where poor soobin was running around and sweating being chased by the other members HAHA i think thats where my soobin bias started popping up 🫢 it’s so funny when they get competitive playing the games 😂 i also watched the mv for 9 and 3/4 the other day and i think it’s one of my favs from them rn (besides GBGB)
