My sister made me a tea pet and I'm so happy! It's so fucking cute

I was a huge fan of the velveteen rabbit as a little kid. The idea that love makes things Real really resonated with tiny me. And the idea that tea pets gain a soul over time from being used and being fed tea reminded me. So my sister made my a little bunny!

His first tea bath is an old tree shou puer from my favorite local tea shop @friday-tea

Honestly I cried a little during this session. I felt very loved and seen and supported in my interests. And! I inspired my sister to make a delightful little guy! Maybe several delightful little guys as she is currently working on a frog that spits. It's sibling mutualism!

Had a 6 person Purple Beauty Tea session

Da Hong Pao (大紅袍) (ft. New tea pet!)

Today I was feeling a bit low so I treated myself to some of my Da Hong Pao (Big red robe) oolong. This is my first tea session with my new tea pet! It's an unglazed red clay fish which I found at a ceramic's stall in a market. I love incorporating small memories in my tea sessions, and I feel that this fish will work wonderfully as a tea pet.

I used 5 grams of leaf for 100 ml 95-100 degrees C water. Strong, dark and fragrant, with very forward woody and earthy notes and a sweet stone fruit-like aftertaste. Lovely as always <3

I still need to come up with a name for my new tea pet tho...

Soooooo, you know that absolute chonker of a tea pet that I bought? Well, I decided to finally bring it back to my dorms to accompany me on my desk, since I can't exactly properly use him as a tea pet due to his big boi size......so what did I do?

I gave him a new purpose.....as my honorable pen holder......I'm proud of myself XD

And don't forget to make sure to spritz some water every now and again (without the pen in the way) to help make your local monkey god grow, cause hydrate or diedrate
