The truth just got exposed and Boasberg has nowhere to hide…
Judge James Boasberg has officially become the poster boy for lawfare. If there’s a left-wing plot to rubber-stamp or a political enemy to take down, his gavel is always ready to swing. The man’s a busy bee. From running interference for the Deep State during the Trump years to shielding the Swamp at every turn, Boasberg isn’t a judge—he’s a glorified rent-a-gavel for the regime. In a recent piece, we gave him a name that fits: the “Antifa Judge.”
Revolver:
There are activist judges… and then there’s Jeb Boasberg. While other radical judges dabble in partisanship, Boasberg has set the gold standard. He’s what every weaponized, DC swamp judge aspires to be: shameless, biased, and proudly unaccountable. This guy checks all the boxes: NeverTrump leadership? ✔️ Judge shopping games? ✔️ Absurd cruelty toward J6 defendants? ✔️ Boasberg isn’t just on the bench—he’s leading the resistance in a long, black robe. […] Wouldn’t it be just par for the course if we found out USAID was somehow funding Judge Boasberg’s activism? At this point, nothing would surprise us. That’s how absurd—and corrupt—this whole circus has become. As it stands now, with his impressive progressive resume, Judge Boasberg is an activist’s activist—he’s the Antifa of the judiciary. And it all starts with his availability—Boasberg keeps himself right there on the shelf, ready for any judge-shopping assignment that needs a partisan rubber stamp. Need a biased bench-warmer to weaponize your case? Judge Boasberg is your guy. He’s not just available—he’s eager. Heck, he’ll probably show up on his day off just to help the regime get the ruling it wants.
You can read the entire piece below:
Judge shopping, NeverTrump leader, and J6 cruelty: Jeb Boasberg is the Antifa of the bench…
So it’s no surprise that he’s now bending over backward to protect the very criminals the American people want deported.
Bloodthirsty gangbangers…
Watch:
Tumblr media
Boasberg’s most absurd stunt was blocking the removal of violent Tren de Aragua gang members by claiming they don’t meet the legal threshold for deportation under existing wartime authority. His excuse was that “TdA” isn’t a foreign government, and there’s no war. Well, that weak legal argument just collapsed under the weight of some pretty damning new intelligence.

Ty and Livvy were the last to come to say good-bye to Jules; Livvy embraced him fiercely, and Ty gave him a soft, shy smile. ... "I've got something for you," Ty said. He held out a box, which Julian took with some surprise. Ty was absolutely punctual about Christmas and birthday presents, but he rarely gave gifts spontaneously. Curious, Julian popped open the top of the box to find a set of colored pencils. He didn't know the brand, but they looked pristine and unused. "Where did you get these?" "Fleet Street," said Ty. "I went out early this morning."
First off, this is one of my favorite Ty moments from TDA. Second off, we can infer from this that gift giving is one of Ty's ways of showing love. So, what if he makes a point of giving Kit his favorite candy or giving him a weapon or stele while they're on their roadtrip? These subtle gestures of love that really convey Ty's true feelings.
(Sidenote: Ty's love language being gift giving is even more apparent to me when I think of how he gave Tavvy's his headphones when the older people were talking about scary stuff in QOAAD and when he gave Dru Church to pet outside the cave while he and Kit went in to meet with Shade/Ragnor.)

I wonder if people have theories for what the Baron will look like in TDA.
Imps look more like their classic design, meaning they have different animations while Hellknights look different but still use the "format" set by 2016.
I also expect a different look from either 2016 and DE.
Maybe they'd use something from concept art but still retaining the animations and size.
There's at least a version of the modern Baron in concept art where they look fleshy but have glowy bits, like a middleground between 2016 and DE, sort of.
There's also unused designs with different horns and without eyes.
Or maybe they could make them a bit more classic, therefore using something from the DE Gladiator.
Or even base them on the red demons with yellow horns from the classic Doom cover box art.
I'm on the camp of "give it another unique/new design but make them bleed green this time".

1x06 of Alaska Daily was heartbreaking and scathing. The ep addressed systemic inequalities in searches for missing white women are treated vs how searches for missing Indigenous women, after a white woman falls overboard from an Alaska cruise ship and an Indigenous woman goes missing in the woods.
Stanley and Roz’s deadpan exchange where Stanley (the paper’s editor in chief) is required to do an obligatory reprimand of Roz after she raises questions about the inequalities at a press conference and says he is “talking” to Roz about her “behavior” was gold.
“Are you done ‘talking’ to me?”
“Yeah. Good chat.”
And then Stanley heads out to the woods to join Roz in the search for Jade. I appreciate Stanley.
The gala having Indigenous performers while a million dollars is being spent on the search for one white woman and almost nothing spent on the missing Indigenous woman — Jade’s search gets done by the community, not official forces. A gala attended by the wealthy who are profiting off the governor’s puff PR “task force” where most of the money is spent on PR not resources.
The rapid-fire dialogue and the wry or deadpan humor of the team of reporters and the friendships among the reporters at TDA is enjoyable and the show finds humor while being raw about a range of issues from corruption to inequalities. I also liked that this ep developed Stanley and Roz’s friendship, the mutual respect, Stanley being a mentor and ally.
It’s interesting how the show depicts Roz, Eileen, and Stanley’s different kinds of angers. Roz’s anger is deep and quiet and stirred higher by being not listened to, not heeded, being overlooked. Trying to get people to listen. Eileen’s is sometimes a bulldozer and at times, well-intended white liberal crusader but she doesn’t always stop to think about the real personal impacts, she latches onto causes, but genuinely cares. Stanely’s anger is a tired anger. He knows how broken the system is. He’s given almost no budget to run the paper. He believes in the power the press has to bring about change, uncover truths, so Stanley tries to push and encourage his team to do work past the external limits set on them. Stanley and Roz in different ways both live in frustration, boxed in, but they know where the hidden cracks in the walls are and how to apply pressure to get them to crumble. While Eileen rams her her way head-on at every wall.
The whole cast is stong, and Hillary Swank, Grace Dove, and Jeff Perry (who plays Stanely) deserve a ton of critical attention of their roles in this. The show itself deserves a lot more attention. I hope it gets a S2.
Don’t sleep on Alaska Daily.

any filming headcanons? i remember that canonically, chris and camera two guy have a prank war in tda, and beth suggests that stuff happens on set/on days off that aren't aired. what other shenanigans do you headcanon happening on set?
You always come up with interesting asks for me, I haven’t seen many headcanons about this!
So you know how everyone in TDI looks like a fashion disaster? They didn’t actually choose those outfits themselves. They all showed up in something similar to their final designs and the producers made them change into their current outfits so they would all stand out and look more flashy to the viewers.
On every season, they have one free day a week while filming where they can wear whatever they want and they won’t use the footage as long as they’re not in their film clothes. If they’re in pajamas or their bathing suits, they can still be filmed though. (Chris opposed this but the producers said “for fucks sake McClean, you torture the poor kids enough let them have a day”).
During season 1 interns had a weekly card game night that usually falls on the previously mentioned free day. Duncan and Geoff accidentally found their game night once and the interns let them join after Duncan pulled out a wad of gambling money. Though Duncan normally runs his own card games and gambling rings in the Killer Bass cabin, he and Geoff will still crash the interns’ game just for the hell of it.
Most of the interns that were brought on the show were teenagers and college students that didn’t make the cut for the show and the film crew is made up of mostly older and experienced camera people and editors. The film crew does their best to look after the kids since they know how Chris’s temper can get. There have been multiple occasions where someone on the film crew saw an intern getting chewed out and they stepped in to take the blame.
In World Tour, the cast and crew were usually stopped in one location for a few days at a time. One free day for the cast to explore the city, as long as they weren’t wearing film clothes and weren’t recognizable. Getting challenges set up and cleared in each location also took a couple days and the challenges and eliminations took place on the last day they were in the country.
Yes, everyone sang in World Tour themselves. Some were a little more auto tuned than others. And yes, every one had to sing when the bell went off, but because the teams were often in different places when the bell went off, there were at least two different songs recorded in the same episode with different lyrics but the same backing track. The producers liked the way Team Amazon sounded better so their songs made it on air in those instances. “Oui My Friend” is the one instance where team Amazon and team Chris had sung two different songs but they were both featured in the same episode.
The interns will sometimes take pity on the cast and leave some pizza boxes or giant bags of McDonald’s in their rooms after a challenge day. The film crew didn’t film them eating so that way no one would get caught.
Everyone plays pranks off camera on the show, but the film crew are the reigning champions especially when it comes to Chris. Some of their greatest feats include filling his tanning bed with hotdogs, bribing Chris’s hairstylist to dye his hair gray, hiding pictures of him from “Fametown” around his trailer, and replacing all of his hair gel for bacon grease.
Thank you so much for the ask and once again, sorry it took so long. I hope you enjoy and let me know if you want more headcanons like these!

I'm curious, is anybody here thinking about buying the LitJoy TMI box set or Fairy Loots TDA box set?
(I know they’re both hella expensive, but I would be able to get one of these boxes as a birthday present. Although, I don’t think I will wish for the TMI set. Of course, the TMI set has more “exclusive” things about it and CoB is signed, but I just don’t love TMI as much as the other series...)

Will Ty Call on God Himself to Defeat Lucifer and Release Livvy in TWP?
Tumblr media
Bringing back the dead, Johnny Rook had always said, warped the fabric of life, the same way making humans immortal did. Invite in death, and it would stay. Could anyone bring back the dead and have it work? Kit had asked him once. Even the most powerful magician? God, Johnny had said, after a long, long pause. God could do that. And those who raise the dead may think they are God, but soon enough they will find out the lie they have believed. - Lord of Shadows
When reading this excerpt from Lord of Shadows, it makes me consider what consequences Ty will have to suffer in TWP for bringing back Livvy. Invite in death and it would stay. We know that Magnus can sense dark magic on Ty like it's a cloud around him and that there's something like a necromantical string of magic that connects Ty to Livvy. He's literally "warped the fabric of life."
From TDA, we know that it can take extremely drastic measures to remove strong bonds of Magic. To remove Emma and Julian's parabatai bond one of them would have had to be stripped of their marks or they would have had to destroy all the parabatai bonds that existed. Only an act from heaven itself (turning into actual Nephilim) spared them from having to choose between those two options. Similarly, we see that the only way that Clary was able to bring Jace back from the dead is by the help of Raziel himself, a supreme heavenly being. When Johnny says that only God could bring someone back, he was being truthful. So, it seems that the only way for Ty to truly heal or undo the damage he has wrought by raising Livvy is to get Heaven itself to intervene.
TWP will call the whole fate of the Shadowhunting world into question and will change their world forever. I know their fate is most likely called into question because of Janus and whatever he sets in motion. Ash even hints at this in SOBH in a letter to Janus. But what if it's also because of the intervention that Ty will have to receive to solve his necromancy issue? If we think about the villain the TWP gang will be facing, Lucifer himself, then we have to also consider who is archenemy has always been: God. We also know that Cassie has already stated that TWP will turn on pieces of Biblical Mythology and that TWP is set up to be the ultimate closer to the Shadowhunter Chronicles. Well, when looking at the Bible and the Book of Revelation (the last book of the Bible that depicts the ultimate final battle between God and Lucifer), we see God seal Lucifer up in hell with his demons for good in the Battle of Armageddon, epically defeating him.
So, what if Ty calls God Himself down to finally defeat Lucifer and Janus which in turn burns up the necromantical bond he shares with Livvy because of being in the presence of God, the purest and most holy being that exists? We know that Ty has a way of summoning people (like how he did with Annabel) and getting things done that should be altogether impossible (raising Livvy). We also know that being in such close proximity to Heavenly power can destroy things like with Emma and Julian's parabatai bond. It would also check the boxes of turning on Biblical mythology by directly paralleling the book of Revelation and would very effectively change the Shadowhunters' world forever. If Lucifer is banished with his demons by God then Shadowhunters no longer have the one thing that defines their entire life: fighting demons. (I honestly hope that just Princes of Hell get banished and not all the demons. I think it would be an incredibly awful way to end TSC if Shadowhunters just lost their entire purpose for existing.)
I'm quite positive this would release Livvy to the afterlife and I believe that both her and Ty will be aware of this if/when they do call on God. I can very much see this as the moment that Ty comes to fully accept that Livvy is truly gone, that this is what must be done. I also believe this will serve as the moment where Livvy finally gets to take control of her situation as a ghost because I believe they will mutually agree to do this. She'll finally get to be that protector that she's always wanted to be. Plus, they'll actually get to properly say goodbye this time.
I believe that towards the end of TWP, Ty will be a pariah in the Shadowhunting universe for raising Livvy. This could be his moment of redemption in their eyes, could finally give Livvy peace, and would save the entire world in the process. It would also be the most powerful ending the TSC universe has ever seen, which would be fitting for its final one.
(I know this probably seems incredibly out there, but I would really love to see what any of you think of this theory. I also think that they would more likely call on Raziel instead, since he created them if I’m remembering correctly.)

It's interesting how the Doom box art has this red demon with yellow horns.
They exist to be generic enough, vaguely resembling some ingame designs at best (Barons or Cybies) and are a result of Don Ivan Punchatz not being as familiar with the material as the actual devs (Also, lots of games were like this at that time).
It also makes Doom a simple concept where some designs could just be good enough to indicate its intention.
There's also the aspect of "making the game's universe seem bigger" because there's stuff about the setting outside the actual game.
But since 2016 and DE have illustrations with this design, i wonder if TDA will officially make this red demon an actual enemy.

Happy friday friends! and Happy New Year! <3  I’m putting this week’s ‘life/reading/writing’ update under a read more for some mentions of pet illness/death in case anyone wants/needs to avoid that. <3
It’s been an extremely rough week for me. My roommate had to put one of her cats down on Tuesday after she got sick very suddenly, and it both of us very hard. I don’t think I’ve ever been this upset over the loss of a pet, I loved that cat so much <3 <3 Definitely not the end of the year either of us wanted or were hoping for. Outside of that, the rest of the past week was alright. Work is going pretty well, I bought and set up a bullet journal for the year, and we had a junk removal company come to get rid of some stuff we’ve been hoarding and not dealing with (a broken microwave and entertainment center, a rug we recently replaced, and a few other random things) which has already made the apartment look a million times nicer already. I also got a lovely gift from a friend last night (because the post office took forever and a half to ship it), but I think that was a bit of fate as well, because I certainly needed the pick-me-up this week more than last week <3
Reading-wise: I FINISHED THE DARK ARTIFICES. I have SO MANY THOUGHTS AND FEELINGS AND AHHHHHHH because I powered through those three books so fast the past month, determined to finish them before the new year. So if anyone wants to yell about them at me or with me, please feel free. Related: I CAN NOW WRITE FICS WITH TDA CHARACTERS. (and I’ve already started because I have no self control). It’s really nice to finally finish all the books to know I can pull info or characters from any of them now <3 <3
Writing-wise, I finally wrapped up Dreaming Wide Awake, and and got a few ask prompts finished and posted as well! I didn’t get to all of them but I’m making decent progress! I didn’t get as much writing done this week as I hoped, between the holiday weekend being busy at work and then the other events of the week leaving me entirely unable to focus on my day off, certainly not enough to write. But it’s a new year and we’re going to start it off right, hopefully with a TON of writing productivity this upcoming week! I really want to clear my inbox prompts, so we’ll see how much of that goal I get done.
I’m thankful for the small victories of the past week, but it sure is one that I’m glad to have behind me. A rough end to an already difficult year, but I’m a firm believer of the ‘every second is a second chance’ stance of time moving on and things having the possibility of improving, so I’m definitely leaning into this landmark point of ‘moving forward’ even more than usual.
I hope you’re all doing well, and that you all had a wonderful New Year’s Eve and start to your year today! I hope you’re all as safe and happy and healthy as you can be, and that whatever goals and wishes and dreams you have for the upcoming months come true <3 As always, my ask box and messages are always open for anything from Shadowhunters/TSC chat and prompts, to music and movies and other random interests you might want to share or talk about! <3

Oh, Cassandra Clare! I don’t mind cliche or crazy melo but I can’t stand boring
Sorry, gotta rant about Queen of Air and Darkness.
Perhaps I should have known this book would not work for me since I barely made it through Lord of Shadows and my resounding feeling about that work was a giant meh. But still - I loved all six books of the Mortal Instruments series, with all its delicious overwrought melodrama (fakecest! evil parents! mortal illnesses! love pentagons!) and enjoyed the Infernal Devices one. And the first book in this series worked for me.
But now, somehow, it's as if the switch flipped off. I'd say I am getting older, except I was not the target audience even with the earlier books and I enjoy plenty of other YA fantasy even now. I think it's because Clare has one idea/situation she writes over and over and over and it's beginning to wear thin.
So, problems:
1. The plot. It's all over the place and nothing in it is particularly interesting or compelling. That would be fine if there were characters/ships I adored as I've read many a poorly plotted novel because the characters, separately or together, were compelling. Alas, that brings me to the next problem:
2. The characters are boring and paper thin. It doesn't help that the book has seemingly 7561 POVs - that results in clutter and repetition without getting to truly know anyone.
3. The OTPs. Good God. They are divided into two categories - characters from other series and original TDA characters - neither draws you in.
a. Look, I love me some Clary x Jace. I read six freaking books about their never-ending tribulations. But enough is enough. Retire them, Clare. Clare strikes me as someone who had a shiny new toy and still keeps playing with it even though it's ratty and worn out now. That's fine if you are a Velveteen Rabbit, not so much if you are a YA author. At this point, I am mildly puzzled she didn't invent a time machine for the sheer purpose of sticking them into the Infernal Devices somehow. Be done. Let Leather Pants Draco and AU Ginny live in peace.
b. Alec x Magnus and Tessa x Jem. Same. They are awesome, they are cool, they deserve to be happy, THEY SHOULD BE LEFT IN THEIR OWN SERIES ENOOOOOOOUGH!!!!
c. Julian x Emma. I do not care. They are nice people so I suppose I wanted them to get a happy ending in an abstract "they are nice and nice people deserve nice things" kind of way. But my emotional involvement was nil because they pretty much got lost in the shuffle of the bazillion other characters and because I felt I knew them less/could feel them less than characters in some 200 page novel.
d. Mark x Christina x Kieran. SIGH. It's not enough to write a poly relationship in a cursory fashion, say "I am super progressive," and call it a day. I want to have a reason to care whether these people are happy together or not. I have no particular interest in OT3s in fiction or in real life so there is no inherent appeal to me in the situation where I like the trope so much, I don't even care how well it's written. I could probably go for it if I cared about the characters (I have cared about many a pairing/situation that is not normally my thing because of loving and/or understanding the characters) but the writing failed to make me care for any of these three separately or together.
e. All the other ships. Whatever. If Clare didn't bother to develop the main couples, would she really bother with the secondary ones? Nope.
4. If one were feeling uncharitable (and oh, I was, after reading this mess of a book), one would think that the author thought bringing back popular characters from other series, sticking in every possible romantic set-up she could come up with, throwing in a lot of purple prose, and checking a number of "I am so woke" boxes (I have a trans character! And a poly relationship! And my bad guys are bigots! And one of the faves is autistic!) would be enough that she would not have to develop either compelling characters or an interesting plot.
I think this is the last Clare book I read. It's not you, it's me. Or maybe it's not me, it's you. Either way, I am out.

Part 1) I’m going to be brutally honest here, as someone who was bullied off this site because I disagreed with the people saying 2x07 lacked consent (many even outright calling Alec a rapist themselves), and as a survivor myself, this whole ordeal with cc misusing the word for her own reasons is all too familiar. I’m honestly just tired of people using the worst experience of my life as a cheap way to prove a point.
(Part 2)That being said, the difference for me is in the fact that cc is supposed to be a professional. The fact of the matter is, she made a choice to reply in such a frankly stupid way when all she had to do was ignore it, or heaven forbid, show some maturity. And it’s not like this was a one time thing. She’s never, ever, handled criticism well. Her lashing out, getting called on it, than deflecting the blame is basically her MO at this point. And I sadly don’t see that changing anytime soon.
(Part 3) As you pointed out, she completely and utterly missed the point. Not to mention the sheer nerve of her disregarding people’s outrage over fictional characters when she herself came after the show runner over something as benign as Simon not being a two timer. I think it’s safe to say that the women lacks any sense of self reflection. (Finish)
About this post
Thank you for sharing your opinion. I’m sorry, that you had to go through such horrid experiences. And never stop being brutally honest with these things, it’s very important to have people speaking up. So, thank you for doing it.
CC’s behavior has become worse and worse, since the show started and having success, also the voices about comparing it to the books and all, growing louder. But I feel like it’s a grave she’s been digging for herself over the past years as she’s already shown, that while writing the books, she’s not open to criticism and that led to the books, that are of less quality with wasted potential.
Another point is, that she is pretty tone-deaf regarding important things, and only uses them, when she needs it, but doesn’t have any serious interest in it. Things like charity; when she announced she was writing the Malec First Time, she said it was for a LGBT+ charity, she didn’t name a specific charity, didn’t call people to donate in general, it was just a fancy label for why she wouldn’t post the Malec story like she did with three (?) sex scenes of straight couples on tumblr. (Also, this ended with the Malec trilogy being announced, which is now pushed back to 2019, I think, and no mentions of a charity anymore.)
Or her complains about how she was treated for writing a gay character or downright ranting about how ‘some hot dude actors’ took the characters away from her and how all her hardship stems from being a woman in the industry. She mentioned in an article, that at a signing, a fan confronted her with the accusation ‘that she would probably want to kill off Alec’ (paraphrasing here) and replied ‘Of course, I could kill him, it’s my characters’, but not understanding at all what kind of fear that question was born from and why the fan was so shocked at her answer. She didn’t get the point of people being worried of not getting the Malec wedding in the POV of either Magnus or Alec, and she went on a long explanation about ‘What POV really is’. She always talks down to people and acts like they don’t get the ‘magic craft of writing’. (Not to mention, that her POVs are really inconsistent.)
This list goes on and on, but yeah, basically I feel a lack of heart in what she does and how she writes, how she just throws in LGBT+ characters like ticking off a list. She busts out big topics, when she needs it and uses the book fans as shield by saying ‘I’m speaking up for the fans of the books, that were upset/triggered by this and that’.
I have the theory, that she got too big too soon. The world-building she did for TMI lasted for the three books and that should have been it. If that hadn’t been the hit it became, it could have been her training trilogy with her possibly expanding the universe, nothing against that, but staying a smaller name, so there’d be less of a rush to deliver again with TID, while writing the next three TMI books. It was too much at once. She mentioned in an interview for the movie, that publishers told her, nobody wanted to read about werewolves and vampires, etc. but then she got published anyway and maybe a ‘See, I knew I was going to make it’-reaction happened and she closed herself off to any critical voices because they’ve been wrong once … and that spiraled out of control.(It’s just speculation on my part, but I do know that feeling and had that reaction, and I guess I’m lucky, that I’m not published or a public figure in any way. I feel like the reaction would be even stronger then.)
I think, the TMI characters are still the biggest draw and with the show producing new material for those, with her trying to establish new characters, that catch less interest because they are new, is getting more and more difficult. In addition to that she keeps loosing people with her behavior, she definitely did with that comment. And her constant dismissal of people’s concern and that narrative ‘they are just fictional characters‘ doesn’t help her much.
Then she’s taking on too many projects at once, writing for different universes, which dilutes the quality of each book. And I did notice, that in the big bookstore in my city, they also don’t have the TDA books on major display anymore and almost always in combination of a TMI box set. I think, that says something compared to the display of past years.
I’m just always confused how you can be a writer and constantly dismiss the importance of fictional characters and their impact. (I mean, I have my share of OCs and favorite characters and as a very introverted person, they have been some of the best guides in my life.)
I’m sorry for this getting so long, but sometimes when I get talking, it’s hard to stop because with certain topics a lot of things have piled up. I hope, I didn’t completely overrun the point you wanted to make.
Have a nice day!
