We don't talk about Helen Blackthorn enough imo.

Her father was killed during the war, and yet her loyalties were still questioned because her mom was a faerie.

She was sent to Siberia in exile for YEARS!!!!

Meanwhile her brother was kidnapped and the Clave was like "well he's fae what do we care?"

Her other brother ended up having to almost become a father figure at the age of 12, because she wasn't allowed to take care of them!

She was only able to get permission to get married for the exchange of being made a public example and humiliated!

Even after her uncle died Helen was still not allowed to become head of the Los Angeles Institute, despite living in Siberia doing extensive research on wards which would later become how the Clave knew that Malcolm Fade was up to something! She would only be allowed to be co-head of the Institute after the Clave was exiled from Idris.

And when she was finally able to reunite with her siblings again they had all grown up so much they didn't want anything to do with her and viewed Julian as their go to person when they needed something! They thought of Helen as a stranger and not their older sister.

I recently found a deleted scene from LM where Cameron confronts Emma about the end of their relationship and he tells her that the only "serious relationship" she seems to have is with Julian.

Obviously referring to the fact that the parabatai relationship between Emma and Julian seems to be different from the others, Emma tells him that of course being a parabatai is something serious but Cameron walks away convinced that there is something more there.

Before leaving, he tells Emma that she seems to be the only one who doesn't see Julian's "cold" and calculating side, so she gets defensive and tells him to never say that about Jules again.

The last thing Cameron tells her is that she and Julian "deserve each other," clearly angry about the situation, and leaves.

I don't know how I never read that scene but I thought it was very good, I understand why CC didn't add it at the end but it would have been nice to read what Cameron thought when he discovered what was going on between Emma and Jules.

Do you think parabatai celebrate their anniversaries? Like every year on the day of their parabatai ceremony they go out and find cool demons to fight together? Or, in true Shadowhunter fashion, they give each other weapons? Do they have certain weapons for each anniversary (i.e. dagger for ten years, sword for 20, spear for 30, etc.) Because if they don’t they should totally start doing this.

I think there should be a scene in twp where Emma, Kit, and Ash all stand in a room together and cause Julian, Ty, and Dru to simultaneously come to the horrifying realisation that they all have the same type (blonde. Jace Herondale adjacent.)

people need to start talking about Julian Blackthorn more because he’s awesome, he raised a family at 12 while running an institute with no experience, no help and no one knew for 5 years, he killed his father to protect his siblings, he went into faerie to get Mark back, he united downworlders and nephilim in order to fight the cohort, he’s very clever and his plans always work, he turned into a true nephilim and SURVIVED he’s one of my favorite characters and we NEED to talk bout him more. that’s all😁
