i really need omega as a pilot for the rebellion now. the ending of the last episode has opened up so many possibilities for characters to just… canonically know each other? and i love that. can you imagine her interacting with the full ghost crew? hera would definitely remember, they’d be strong friends. kanan might have some reservations but he’d appreciate her strong will and courage. she’d be like an auntie to sabine and ezra. in another universe they might’ve all spent some time on pabu hiding out and recovering from a bad run and hunter could finally be a grandfather for a while. because let’s not lie that’s exactly how he’d act towards ezra, probably sabine too. omega would follow orders with a military professionalism generally lacking in a rebellion full of people with mismatched skills and she’d be really well respected, maybe a relatively high ranking squad commander, who would be an excellent trainer to newer pilots. and idk i really want her interacting with cassian andor?? just a quick meeting and a drink shared because i find it hard to imagine them being friends beyond a deep respect for one another, but. they’d be a relatively similar age i think. which is wild.

There are two types of parents (broadly speaking).
Allow me to illustrate.
Scenario: Omega finds her brothers have been captured by slavers in "Rampage"
Hunter: silently shakes his head at her, waves her away, wants her to keep out of sight
Echo: "YOU KNOW WHAT WOULD BE REALLY HELPFUL RIGHT NOW? OUR GEAR. HINT HINT."

headcanon that that's where the experimental b-wings ended up
so...what do we think of omega leading a squadron of experimental fighters and insanely overqualified pilots and it being a mirror of clone force 99
(it's called havoc squadron btw and when they get called in their entrances are exactly like the bad batch's entrance in tcw s7)
(they start out as a squad of pilots but they're eventually a spec ops squad due to previously mentioned overqualifications)
(the other members may or may not be mox, deke, and stak and they occassionally get help from a "liberator of ancient wonders" named lyana hazard and a scientist named emerie karr)
(this concept may or may not be my next fic...)

list of things I cannot believe from tbb finale:
an actual good ending
hunter being alive
crosshair being alive
wrecker being alive
echo being alive
tech being actually dead
cody vanishing just like that
the entire “wolffe joining rex and the clone rebellion” plotline going down the drain (???)
howzer saying “aight imma head out”
rex not being in the finale
”clone force 99 died with tech” line
hunter still breathing
clone cx-2 being absolutely not fucking relevant whatsoever
clone cx-2 not being tech
clone cx-2 moving/speaking/behaving like tech but not being tech -> could have been him but sadic writers chose not to go with that plotline the very last second so they had to cut from the finale the scene where tbb (and us) get a tech/cx-2 face reveal
grown up omega being a pilot for the rebellion
hunter choosing to be omega’s dad
the writers denying us the whole “tbb goes back to ord mantell just to skin cid alive and robbing her of everything she has” subplot
ventress/fennec not being in the finale
hunter tbb alive
dead tech (I was a very skeptic tech alive truther)

WAIT
TBB SEASON 3 FINALE SPOILERS
Omega said ‘Keep an eye on Wrecker and Crosshair…” not “keep an eye on Wrecker, Crosshair and Echo”
If my guessing is correct, the time when the Rebellion needs pilots in Rebels is after Old Man Rex is recruited which means the Clone Rebellion is over. Which means Echo never came home.
Echo who deserved rest and peace but chose to help, is the one who didn't make it.
I’d hope that I'm wrong but I don't think I am.

Maddi's Reaction to TBB S3 Finale
Warning: SPOILERS. LOTS AND LOTS OF SPOILERS
The episode title killed me a little bit, ngl
I mean, "The Cavalry Has Arrived". Talk about a callback lmao
Ofc Omega found a way to release the Zillo Beast. And Echo's reaction was amazing. "How do you know?" "Because it's exactly what I'd do!"
Same with Hunter, Wrecker, and Crosshair: "Echo or Omega?" "Omega." "Omega."
I was so fucking convinced that the og operative - the one with the sniper rifle - was gonna be Winter Soldier-ified Tech. Like, I was banking on it, and it turns out he was just a random clone. (I might make a rewrite changing that outcome lol)
Emerie finally became a good guy! After Episode 10, I was rooting for her to wake the fuck up haha. Glad she came to her senses, and very proud that Echo had the sense to trust her.
Oh, speaking of the not-actually-Tech operative, HE CUT CROSSHAIR'S HAND OFF?! CROSSHAIR BBY NOOOO
Ahem. I'm not mad. It's a TV show, it's not real, I'm not mad.
Sorry, where was I?
Hunter and Crosshair finally acting like brothers again makes my heart so happy. "You should stay here. I'll go after Omega." "Not a chance."
Ooh, when Echo found Omega and the other kids, the way he greeted her made me wanna cry a little bit. And the way the kids hugged her before Emerie flew them to safety - guys, my heart can't take this cuteness.
Echo's speech to the prisoners gave me Fives' battle for Kamino speech. "You've all been through enough, and you all deserve your freedom, but Omega and I can't do this alone. Will any of you help us?" compared to "We're one of the same. Same heart, same blood. And my blood's boiling for a fight." "But what about our training?" "Your training is in your blood."
Hunter, Crosshair, and Omega working together almost non-verbally to kill Hemlock was amazing. Our baby Omega has grown up so much since Season 1, and I'm so proud of her. Also, yay, Hemlock is dead!
Nala Se's "sacrifice" to destroy her work kinda made me tear up, ngl. (I say "sacrifice" because it wasn't a big thing like Tech's death, she just got shot by Rampart and dropped the detonator at his feet. It still made me tear up tho.)
Everyone recovering on Pabu made me so happy, but we didn't see Phee and Omega reunite, which was kind of a let-down. But, everyone's safe and happy, so I'll take it.
Now for the big thing: THE END SCENE
Oh my god baby Omega grew up so much. Her long hair in the really loose and messy ponytail made me so happy haha. Also, was that Hunter's bandana? TBB team, can we confirm?
Speaking of Hunter, his older look makes me so happy. No armor, just soft, comfortable clothes. (I do miss the old bandana though)
Hunter's concern about Omega becoming a Rebellion pilot is so fatherly omfg. Also, our baby is a Rebellion pilot!!
Omega's little salute to Hunter and Batcher made my heart melt a little. Seeing Tech's goggles on the dashboard also didn't help. And Hunter's final line - "She'll be fine."
Guys, I'm in awe. This episode was amazing. Laughed, cried, and melted the whole way through. Perfect ending for our favorite squad.

OKAAAAAY!!!! let's play another round of......
✨ OmegaFett99 trying to fit in a live action Omega everywhere!✨
I'm this episode I will be reviewing a GIF I saw while scrolling, specifically, this one ⬇️
Tumblr media
She says that they need a pilot, and according to my research, Andor takes place at around 5BBY, TBB takes place at about 18BBY, and that would make Omega (who was around 12 in 18BBY) about 26 years old during 5BBY, and assuming that season 2 is set a few years after the finale of season 1, it could be at about 7BBY, and that would make Omega the age when she left for the rebellion, which is 29-30.

Nighty-night, Dr. Scalder.
Eva's taking straw!Lula 🩷
Imperial!Sea World next showtime's about to begin!
"Your fate is now tied to her's."
"That's exactly what I'd do." ARCs are so badass I love 'em
"We do this together." Hunter said fuck ya Plan 99 Round 2 idea
And now the Zillo's loose on Wayland
We're waking up MULTIPLE CX units?! And they're all different!!
HIS HAND
"Causing trouble, Havoc 5?"
Emerie if you betray them now
"We'll survive. But you won't." That is not a threat, that is a promise
"Clones don't leave our brothers behind." It's the ✨loyalty✨ your honor
Nala Se picked up a thermal, Rampart a gun... He's planning to snipe the information isn't he
That's so many blood samples...
Not the Hemlock Special :(
Nala Se had the last laugh.
"You're forgetting one thing. I have them."
Holy hell with the force Hunter hurled that spear, he pinned CX-2 off the floor.
SCORCH 😭
Hemlock's losing his (mental) grip and 'Megs knows it
BYE HEMLOCK
Left Wayland mere seconds before Empire arrives
"The databanks were destroyed." puts it mildly
Funds are now funneled into Project Stardust
Glad to see Emerie didn't betray everyone like I feared.
Pabu's beautiful at night.
Omega's so grown up... and a pilot for the Rebellion now!
Bummed we only got to see Old Man Hunter
"I know you are. But I'm not."
Lula and Tech's goggles are now on the new ship, ready for new adventures...🥹

The Sun Still Sets In Summer
Omega wants to join The Rebellion, and Hunter must learn to let go.
Fresh off the finale, and the epilogue got me feeling things. Mostly feeling that Hunter would not have let Omega go without a whole lot of struggle first.
This is just part one, the finished fic will have a chapter for each season :) I really wanted to explore Hunter's state of mind and thought process when faced with Omega growing up and wanting to leave for The Rebellion.
Set post-TBB finale, beware of spoilers!
Words: 1,022 Content: angst, communication issues, overprotective dad Hunter, implied PTSD
Tumblr media
The sun is still warm, though the wind carries a slight chill. Just enough to nip at Hunter's fingertips, an omen of the coming winter. Still, he keeps the window open for the view. Pabu is ablaze with reds and yellows, the changing leaves incandescent under the setting sun.
He’s enjoying the warmth on his face when Omega enters, laden with a heavy basket of produce from the market.
“Careful with those. You look like you’re about to tip over,” Hunter chuckles, only briefly glancing up from the filleted fish on the cutting board.
“Lyana says it's a good harvest this year,” Omega replies brightly. She sets the basket down next to the fish with a barely-disguised grunt, and hops up to sit on the counter. “Even the meilooruns are cheaper than usual.”
“Don't tell Wrecker, they'll be gone in a day,” Hunter jokes. “Get down from there and help me with dinner.”
Hunter had never thought of himself as someone who would enjoy routine, let alone thrive on it. But in the years since they had found their peace on Pabu, he has been lulled by the simple, easy rhythms of daily life, found comfort in the small rituals they create. He rises early in the morning. He works, he tends the garden. He sews patches in his family's worn clothes. And he's never been happier.
Omega hops off the bench and pulls out a pot to start on the vegetables. As she does, she flicks on the subspace radio and tunes it to her usual station. The music puts a bounce in her step as she slices the vegetables and sets them in the pot to stew, and Hunter can't help but smile. It’s a familiar song, a tawdry pop tune Hunter had always found overloud and irritating. A favourite of Omega’s, though, and she hums along as they work side by side. The moment is mundane, like so many thousands over the last five years. They have never stopped feeling like blessings.
“Wrecker and Cross should be back from the docks soon,” Omega says, giving the pot a shake. “Think they were going to help Shep repair some of the ships after their haul.”
Hunter adds the first fish to the pot as the song fades out. It's replaced by a news bulletin, read in a strong, stern voice.
At the first mention of Ryloth, the sun's warmth is stolen from the room. Hunter glances to the side: Omega's hand has tightened on the pot handle, frozen in place. There's an anxious flutter in Hunter's ear: Omega's pulse has quickened. The radio speaks of the smothered rebellion on Ryloth as a cause for celebration. The announcer espouses the joy of a coming peace, of unity within The Empire's broad embrace. Under the flowery language, Hunter can hear the Twi’leks’ desperate struggle for freedom.
‘Rebel extremists have attempted to retake the system's capital, though losses have been minimal. Sources say Imperial casualties are far outweighed by those of the insurgents.’
“I've been speaking to Hera.”
Omega's words bring a lump to Hunter’s throat. She's not looking at him, not even facing him. Her words are icy around the edges. “It's getting really bad out there.”
He can't say he hasn't been expecting this for some time. But not now. Please, not now. He's not ready.
“Omega—”
“They need pilots. The Rebellion are doing what they can, but people are still suffering.”
“The Rebellion will find its volunteers. People will go. Your place is here,” Hunter says, his tone clipped. The scrape of his knife against the fishscale grates against his nerves. It only drives his hand harder on the blade.
‘Imperial reports predict that the rebel terrorists on Ryloth will be eliminated within the month.’
“People out there are suffering. They’re giving their lives. How am I supposed to sit here when I know I could be helping?”
The sun through the window is losing its battle against the horizon. The room has begun to dim, the light turned cold and blue.
“It's not safe for you out there.”
“I know it's not! That's the point, I—”
“I said no, Omega!” Hunter’s knife impales the cutting board, cleaving the fish's neck from its body. His words are harsh, a barking command, and it feels discordant, out of place. Hunter hasn't used that voice in years. Not since the battlefield. As much as he instantly regrets the outburst, it still has its desired effect: Omega has fallen silent, her protests all but dried up in her throat.
For longer than Hunter can bear to count, neither of them move, neither speak. His jaw is tight, his nerves frayed against the silence. The sharp staccato of Omega’s heartbeat hammers in his ear. She inhales softly, trying to smother it, but still Hunter can hear how her breath trembles. Outside, the last dregs of warmth have abandoned them, the sun slowly drowning in the black ocean below. Hunter wants to apologise. He wants to explain. He wants to take his little girl in his arms and hold her so close to him, have her bury her head in his chest like she used to after a nightmare, trusting him, asking him to keep her safe.
But many seasons have passed since she had last needed him for that kind of comfort. And now when she hugs him, her head reaches higher than his.
He wants to apologise. He does. But the words don't come. They're smothered, crushed between the weight of the past at his back and the future ahead. His mind swims, a sordid mess of tangled thoughts and feelings he can't hope to decode into anything logical. So instead, he reaches up with unsteady hands, and closes the windows against the twilight chill. He switches off the murmuring radio. He continues slicing fish. Over his shoulder, he hears Omega move. She bends to the bottom cupboard to pull out plates and cups, and, stoic and wordless, with eyes downturned, she begins setting the table for dinner.
For all his guilt, Hunter can't help but feel relieved that the conversation is over.

ok so the ending of TBB still has me in shambles. aside from the obvious reason (tech not returning still doesn't sit well with me and hit me way harder than any fictional death should have), i find that i relate to epilogue Omega so much and am just now realizing it.
she's getting ready to leave her family on the island and become a pilot for the rebellion. i'm about to leave my family to move TO an island for the job of my dreams (for now- i'll hopefully start my PhD in a few years). i accepted the position around when the finale aired. it's going to be a huge change. we both have to leave our beloved pets with our families, we're both in for adventure and probably a bit of homesickness. we're on our own, but we make friends easily and are optimistic even when things get tough.
idk. eldest daughters leaving the secure comfort of what they know in order to use their skills for something bigger? hitting me like a truck rn.
i'm so nervous for this big move, but i gotta trust Hunter..... she'll be fine!

Okay, finished TBB series finale and spoilery talk behind the cut.
I'm kinda lowkey sad they didn't bring Tech back in some way but I understand why they did it from a narrative standpoint and HOLY SHIT the emotional impact seeing his shattered goggles as Omega was leaving home really sucker punched me. So, I'll give you that point, Felony.
I'm refusing to acknowledge Scorch is dead. NOPE. Clone Commando's have katarn armor and he completely survived being shot in the chest four times and then falling hundreds of feet to the foliage.
He ends up falling into a lake, pulls himself to shore and is discovered by the Imps and given treatment only to be rescued by his squad afterwards. That's the real canon ending. La. La. La. La. La.
Honestly, it wasn't even Scorch, they murdered my murderbaby and I'm so grumpy about it. You can't just use his colors and then completely wipe out his ENTIRE FUCKING PERSONALITY.
So yeah, I refuse.
Riyo is STILL alive and doing well and is helping rescue clones because she is the GOAT. This makes me so happy. I also game away lowkey shipping Emery and Echo?
Uhhh all in all this season has been mostly okay. NGL TBB has always been kinda mid in my opinion. I am glad we got a REAL ending for TBB and ugh Hunter telling Omega she's their kid really tugged on my heartstrings.
I love the idea Wrecker/Crosshair/Hunter co-parenting Omega.
I am however freaking the fuck out over her becoming a Rebel pilot considering their average life expectancy. LOL
It DOES feel like bait for maybe a new project maybe? Like I would absolutely die and be sent to another plane of existence for an active Rebellion era project, especially one that is centered around the pilots because GIVE ME MY FAVORITE CORELLIAN SON WEDGE ANTILLES RIGHT NOW.
This would also give us a chance to get some damn answers about the clones. How did Wolffe escape the Empire? How did he and Gregor and Rex end up living together on Seelos.
What happened with Cody and WHY DID REX CALL OUT FOR HIM IN THAT ONE EPISODE. -slams pots and pans-
I have more questions than answers than when this show started. L M A O
brb gonna cry at the thought this might be the last real clone content we get in SW.
