I have an opinion that i don't know how to articulate well yet but the corr idea is that i think that heavy criticism of islam from within a mostly-muslim community is required and productive but the same criticism from elsewhere, europe for example, especially from non-muslims, is a justification for further targeting and oppression of the muslim minority, while in mostly-muslim countries the religious institution should have indeed their powers dismantled and their rhetoric torn to pieces. Likewise, in a mostly-muslim country almost all criticism of christianity, especially when coming from muslims, are justifications of further targeting and oppression of the christian minority..

criticisms of religions can be progressive and can also be reactionary, depending on the time and place, context.. etc

spam emails are horrifying on an entirely different level once you actually begin to grapple with the material reality of ‘cyberspace’. how many servers were involved in dumping this message into my trash folder, where are they located, how much water goes into cooling them every day? where did the metals come from to build these facilities, who maintains them, how much labour and suffering and exploitation is required to bombard me with 50 messages a day i don’t even look at for products i will never buy? not just useless or a nuisance, but actively harming the earth & its people, and for what. zero social value, zero human communication, just capital trying to metastasise

Oklahoma is attempting to pass a bill that would ban explicit romance novels. Authors, narrators, and sellers could all face fines of up to $100,000 and up to 10 years in jail for each instance.

If you live in OK, call your representative and tell them this bill should not be allowed to pass.

This is likely a test case. Republicans will try to pass it in OK and if it passes other states will likely try to pass similar laws.

In the meantime, get physical copies of books you like. Download those pdfs. Archive your AO3 stories and keep them on a physical hard drive. (Storing those files in the cloud could be problematic in the future as the company managing the cloud service can see what your files are)
