There are two types of parents (broadly speaking).

Allow me to illustrate.

Scenario: Omega finds her brothers have been captured by slavers in "Rampage"

Hunter: silently shakes his head at her, waves her away, wants her to keep out of sight

Echo: "YOU KNOW WHAT WOULD BE REALLY HELPFUL RIGHT NOW? OUR GEAR. HINT HINT."

Omega: *sneaking back onto the Marauder late at night*

Hunter: *From the pilots seat* Where have you been?

Omega: *Freezes*

Omega: Erm…with Crosshair?

Crosshair: *Spins round in the Co-pilot seat*

Crosshair: Try Again.

Star Wars protagonists are usually on the front lines inventing new and exiting ways to have daddy issues (what with the dead masters/parents/guardians, evil masters/parents/guardians, disownment, being a child soldier, codependency, and whatever the fuck Anakin was doing with Luke, Leia, and Ahsoka) but somehow Omega managed to become a well-adjusted adult with a supportive living father figure, which in hindsight is the most unintentionally hilarious ending the writers could have given her. Somebody get Hunter and co a 5 pack of “world’s okayest dad” mugs for breaking the curse after almost 50 years completely by accident

Still thinking about that scene I wanted after last week’s episode of Bad Batch.

Hunter and Echo aren’t mad, they’re just disappointed.

Imagine Hunter and Echo on the way back from their nerf nuggets delivery and one of them decides to tune into the holonet for some entertainment and they happen across a broadcast of riot racing and it’s just:

“That looks like… Wrecker and Omega? And TECH?!”

One of the funniest ideas I’ve had when creating ideas of Bingqiu having kids is what if one of their kids makes the declaration one day that they want to be a Bai Zhan disciple.

It has to be an absolute record-scratch moment when they hear their kiddo go “i wanna join Bai Zhan!” when asked about which peak they’d choose at Cang Qiong, and the look of horror Luo Binghe and Shen Qingqiu share when that declaration sinks in.

Cause they have provided the best education for their children since the day they’re born— fitting for a heir of the Demon realm and child to the 2nd ranked peak lord of Cang Qiong. They’ve gone to great links curate lessons plans to their children’s needs, get the best tutors for any subject they’re not acknowledging in, and this one wants to choose the peak of sword-wielding brutes???

Oooh you better believe that Bingqiu are trying everything to convince their kid to choose someplace else— anything else besides Bai Zhan. If they don’t wanna choose Qing Jing that’s fine, stings but it’s fine, there’s plenty more to choose from!

You can learn plenty more about leadership at Qiong Ding if your heart's set on ruling, or there's Qian Cao whose a very respectable choice there's nothing to sneeze at for all those medical skills. If it’s about swords then Wan Jian fits the bill! And yah know, An Ding isn't that terrible.

Just for the love of god, don't choose Bai Zhan.

Girl Mom Breha Organa who is a moderating force to her husband and daughter while also being a loving and supportive guiding figure

Boy Dad/Uncle Owen Lars who just wants to keep an innocent boy safe in a terrible galaxy for as long as possible

Boy Dad Clem Andor who also saw a scared boy and gave him a safe place to call home

Girl Dads/Uncles/Big Brothers Tech, Wrecker, Crosshair, and Echo who also give Omega everything she needs to survive and a family to love completely

I NEED to know what CosWan think of Hazel’s parents/their lovely neighbors compared to Timmy’s bio fam

They see moments, sometimes. Scary moments where it hit them like deja vu. But, aside from their initial fears when meeting their neighbors, they find it hard to think of the Turners in the same breath as the Wells family.

Hazel’s parents are just so… different. Relieving even. There's a lot of "Never"s with Hazel's parents. Cosmo and Wanda can leave Hazel’s side for long periods of time, without worrying.

Not that they ever stop worrying. They still do. But its a first that their worries are unwarranted.
