Astro Observations - 12th House Profection Years

Twelfth house deals with the subconscious mind and our subconscious patterns.

You'll think a lot and reflect a lot on the past. The ruling planet will tell you what that is. Venus - love life, relationship, etc] A lot of the of the thoughts you had as a child also come back up.

Twelfth house seeks to heal you from your emotional past.

If you follow your ruling planet and planets you have in the twelfth house, you'll notice a lot of subconscious habits you did when you were younger and its up to you do what's best like for example Taurus can point to bad eating habits or being more creative and social. You may hadn't thought about these habits as much in the past but they come back up.

Twelfth house can seem like a test of one’s character and identity. People during this time could wonder who they are.

I look at it as being in the cocoon stage of your you becoming into your adulthood.

“Nobody likes you when your 23.” is a common misconception.

It can seem like this especially if you are in the workplace. People could think you're not ready while at this stage. This house opposes the sixth which means you could have some emotions around your work life and daily routine. You start to think about how you can emerge as your own entity.

The Twelfth house is associated with spirituality and the connection to higher realms.

You can get more in touch with spirituality here. However you choose to religion, New age spiritualism, or finding a connection with God. Meditation and praying can be key themes here.

It represents the need for solitude and introspection, allowing for deep self-reflection.

You'll find a lot of isolation in this period whether your used to that or not depends on the rest of your chart.

This house can bring hidden talents and psychic abilities to the surface.

You find your “superpower” towards the end of this protection year if you don't already know it, you can put your Tweltfh house placement/and its ruling sign in the comments and I'll help you.

It encourages the exploration of dreams and the subconscious mind.

Dreams will be frequent and this is because you subconscious mind will be more active then ever. These dreams can carry into your real reality as you may think on them throughout the day. Your sleep is important.

The Twelfth house often indicates a need for closure and letting go of the past.

It can bring about a sense of sacrifice and selflessness. This house signifies the importance of forgiveness and compassion. It represents the need for healing and releasing emotional baggage. Through this you get a sense of transcendence and spiritual growth. This house can indicate a need for solitude/isolation to recharge and find inner peace.

The Twelfth house often brings about a sense of empathy and compassion towards others.

I look at the twelfth house as a big shrooms trip and I'm not encouraging them but if you've ever tried them then yeah that's this house.

Seasonal Circle Read Sample

For the Seasonal Circle Spread, the entire deck is spread out in a circle and key points along the wheel are read. Usually this spread is read from turn of season to turn of season (from start of spring to start of summer, for example), but it can be done at any time. I use my intuition to determine the best start and end points if this reading is done mid-season.

For this reading (done mid-May), I read a teeny bit back to hit May Day, then forward for the 1st of June, Solstice, 1st of July, 1st of August, and the potential rewards to be reaped in the upcoming season thereafter.

May Day

May Day brought you the energy of the Hierophant. A good time to get things in order, you may already have felt this season bringing focus for new projects and building new habits.

First of June

June comes in with the energy of the Ten of Pentacles. Goals you have been working towards for a long time are coming into fruition.

Solstice

Solstice (June 20th this year) will bring a shift in fortunes. If you've made good use of the Hierophant and Ten of Pentacles energy, you will be prepared to weather the storms and reap the rewards of fortune smiling upon you.

First of July

The Four of Pentacles warns us to be careful of being miserly. Perhaps you put something away in preparation for the turning of The Wheel; now is the time to reevaluate using it. What is held onto is never lost, but it never grows, either.

First of August

The Moon suggests that all is not as it seems. Beware of tricksters, or deals that seem too good to be true.

Upcoming Season

If you play this season right, you will be rewarded with a new opportunity in the next. A new friendship or partnership is on the horizon, provided you've not stretched yourself too thin. This summer’s lesson is discernment, being able to determine true gold from all else that glitters. Recall the ant and the grasshopper, and remember that there is a balance to be had between work and play. While the ant may be full all winter, we are not ants. There is bounty enough to store some away for later and also to use some of your resources now to live your life and enjoy it.

I was pouring a promised libation out to Hermes, Apollo, Aphrodite, and Dionysus this afternoon (I'd asked them for help with a personal matter involving a sibling) and as I was looking up at the sky talking about the situation I saw three hawks start to circle something a little ways in the distance. Hawks aren't exactly uncommon here but it had been a while since I'd seen any, let alone three at once, so it caught my attention.

And while I was trying to figure out what type of bird they were (not an eagle, too short a neck to be a vulture, etc) one of them swooped down into a neighbor's backyard and back up along the tree in my backyard, close enough that, if a branch weren't in the way, I would have been able to see its feather markings. While hawks were somewhat usual, experiencing that certainly was not. So, of course, when I got inside I looked up if any Greek gods are associated with hawks.

And, of course, Apollo is.

I've been thinking a lot about the difference between "this is just a Thing That Happens" and a sign so it was nice to see a direct example of how something differs when it's coming from a god.

Butterfly Effect

A butterfly white and pure, like light, or heaven, lands in your garden one predestined golden dawn. A thousand miles away, a hurricane in it’s shape almost makes me swallow my pride and text you. 

I was born in an ancient city, walls overflowing with slurs and graffiti. It was a sad place to visit, let alone exist in. A sight the faint of heart would be advised to not look at.

When I came of age, fragile and breakable, a baby bird, afraid to spread my wings and fly away, I asked God for a sign, some divine message that I was doing the right thing by staying and not an irreversible mistake. He send me cards to play fortune-teller with, and some friends whose palms I could try and read. 

Still, my grandmother’s bloodline carried a curse almost as ancient as the place I came from and so my head couldn’t stay on my shoulders and my mouth opened before I could think. Sometimes it’s hard to breathe, in this side of the world. The butterfly in your garden flies away with most of my words. Some of my prayers.

The light in your eyes is what I think about late at night. The secret I whisper to my pillows while I beg God for crystal clear answers. All the friends whose palms I could read have disappeared on me like clouds. My tarot deck is sitting somewhere collecting dust. 

If my wide eyed gaze is so frightening, how will I ever make anyone stay? 

How will I break my curse? 

In your garden, the sun never sets. It’s always a golden dawn shining through your opened windows. The butterly in your garden is a force to be reckoned with.

Some days I’m stronger. 

Others,  I lose. 

A second from now,  tomorrow,  yesterday 

i’ll be falling into your arms, hoping you’ll catch me. 

More often than not, you’ll let the hurricane pass.

Refinement and the implicit Cycle.

We always tend to view stuff in cyclical ways not in a spiral up or down, and that's not bad or wrong!

The world is constantly turning around and we are constantly turning around in the world revisiting ourselves and I have to say that mostly for me this process is semi-conscious! We all do it to some degree and if I even look into my blog I will see this aspect repeating.

The Circle of Practice

There's always the emphasis in practice about a circle or about circling or moving in a circle, tracing a circle, using a circle, seals contained in a circle, what if we zoom out of that and see our whole practice represented in a semi-circular fashion . I don't mean it cyclical because a cycle usually denote a repetitive routine where stuff are tip-toed around forces/seasons and conditions. I mean that semi circle because we are really not always exactly revolving on the same stuff but around stuff that are on the surface looks similar but deeper are very different!

planetary forces as a circle What does this mean practically speaking?

One of the lessons that you start to slowly have to tick inside your mind is this more comprehensive outlook on your life, just like the speed of planets like mercury, saturn, mars, jupiter, etc. You would start to feel that there's a rhythm and structure to how these spirits conceptualize time. A spirit of Saturn might have a time frame that you and I can't exactly orient ourselves toward easily and wonder why they talk in a cryptic fashion, but it is because our time perception is different. A spirit of Moon would have a similar time perception to us in comparison despite the fuzziness of time for these spirits.

Spiraling up

The phrase spiraling down is common but we never hear other saying that we are spiraling upward in life. We really do often spiral up, we don't need to actively try to do that but we often can see that we visit same situations, blog posts, topic, grimoires, magical style with deeper and deeper depth. That's something to look at! the deeper we go into mysteries(directional-wise it is down) then we would go up. It's not even a descent into mysteries anymore, the whole operation across the planetary cycles around your center opens up the door to how you should orient yourself!

Now step back, see your practice through time and think for yourself what place you spiraled upward and what place spiraled downward, what amendment and change of direction need to happen?

Hmm…I’ve had this thought forever but what is going to happen to Cattleya and Bernadette’s fairytale magic? The rule of the Mystery Pryer pathway is that the less known about your magic’s origins and the less it spreads, the more powerful it is. Now we have a whole slew of transmigrators which will definitely spread the magic, not to mention any one of the transmigrators could have published a book of fairytales and marketed it to the public which would further impact Cattleya and Bernadette, especially if their magic becomes common place stories. Now we’ll see how the affects unfold from now on I guess (I think they might have to dig deeper into history which is…blasphemous ngl).
