i LOVE crazy meta posts and wild speculations, i write unhinged interpretations myself, and fandom is first and foremost about having fun.

but i am very, very tired of seeing serious theories that constantly call the final fifteen fake/a conspiracy/a magic trick/etc. retconning that scene would take away the ENTIRE emotional weight and the importance it has for both their character archs.

When Izuku Midoriya needed saving, it was Katsuki, Todoroki, and Iida who went rocketing across the sky to reach him.

Both times, our Twin Stars decided to set their own needs aside and allow the other’s trusted friend to take the lead in bringing them home. Izuku knew Kirishima was the right choice to get Katsuki away from the league quickly and safely, and Katsuki knew Iida was the better man for the job of catching up to Izuku and bringing him back.

Can we please just take a moment to appreciate the parallels. Please.

ALSO the end of the episode when jemma is telling fitz that he’s the real hero because he was beside her the whole damn time in the lab and was giving her hope when she had none and then she kisses his cheek and walks away and he sits there smiling and then that smile slowly turns into more of a thinking contemplating oh shit face AND THEN HE KNOWS HE NEVER GOT OVER IT HE NEVER GOT OVER HER

who, me? what am i thinking about? oh, nothing in particular - just penelope visibly upset after her one chance at an engagement had been ruined and her mother asking her what she did wrong to cause that, penelope downright asking her if she cared about her beyond having a ring on her finger and portia ignoring her in favor of her other daughter, penelope calling herself stupid and everyone around her calling her stupid for thinking she could ever find love, cressida ripping her dress, the ton calling her pathetic and constantly making fun of her, telling colin not to concern himself with the featherington girl because she simply does. not. matter. people ignoring her or scowling at her, colin asking eloise if she wants him to drop penelope and eloise saying no because he's all penelope has at the moment. penelope comparing herself to the dead stag on the wall.

something so hauntological about watching mash season 3 knowing how it ends...none of the characters know henry's never going to make it home, the actors all found out in real time. but the narrative knows how this ends, and the narrative is waiting with an open mouth. so the narrative has henry prefigure his own death throughout the season. in o.r. when hawkeye reassures him one day you're gonna have to go back and die in your bed in bloomington, henry says that he's done that several times. he complains in private charles lamb that everything in this country disappears except me (untrue) followed by boy, would i like to wake up some morning, look down and find myself gone (true). when he gets trapped in the wreckage of the latrine in bombed he knocks twice for "dead" rather than three times for "alive." then there's the scene in the consultant where he soaks in the pool, calling it heaven but says the water could be just a titch warmer (burning burning burning), avoiding conversation with frank by submerging himself underwater. henry spends the whole season unknowingly rehearsing his impending death. he goes around camp trying on other people's deaths for size, haunting the narrative before he's even out of it.

i know i run the risk of pissing off my favorite anon who came into my inbox to call me names BUT i'm seeing a lot of reviews for iwtv s2 that are basically just whining about the lack of lestat. i can only speak for myself, but as someone who LOVES lestat i did not think the season suffered because he was not there. i think those reviewers should open their minds a bit more. also, to my knowledge, no one has seen episodes 7 and 8, so who knows what could happen?
