the really beautiful landscape/skyscape animation in makoto shinkai's works tends to be the big thing i see focused on and that is understandable and deserved like the weather and lighting effects are unREAL but i do think we should also appreciate how absolute insane the plotlines of his original movies get. at least two movies with in universe catastrophes with major ecological implications. the guns and explosions. theres that one movie i havent seen yet with the guy who turns into a chair (?)

Let's talk about Nesta Archeron and ACOSF

Pt 1,

Something that I have always been in Acotar is half Nesta, that is, neither pro nor con, because she is a character that I cannot completely love and at the same time I cannot completely hate.

I just like her.

Nesta was a bitch, to her sister, to her father (With reason to do so in his case) and to everyone in general, she was unbearable to me and I remember that the first time I read Acosf I didn't understand anything and I was very conflicted about how to feel about her more than anything.

It was after I reread that I formed a clearer idea and that is that SJM fell short with her, her redemption arc was nice, but it could have been much more, (It needed to be more)

And funny enough is that even some of her stans agree with this (There are too many ACOSF fics).

And the funniest thing is that she has already done it, Chaol's book made me completely change the way I see him to the point that in my opinion he is the most developed male character in TOG together with Dorian, because he really seeks to fix things with those he feels and knows he did wrong, while with Nesta..., there was sex, a lot of sex, sometimes too much sex, and her arc was lost.

(And no, I'm not forgetting the training or the book itself).

Now, Having said that, I can emphasize good things that were done with his character, beyond the fact that she saved feysand lmao, that's the main thing, second to her representation of depression and the self-deprecating thoughts she had about herself, hit hard 🥲, because it does happen, and her trauma around being all cold and mean to defend herself after almost being abused, The whole thing about the cauldron and, on top of that, the death of her father, was something very well constructed, and her shitty attitude is good in the sense that it goes with a character in that state, how many times have I seen characters That are like this because simply what they have been through has made them sour? A lot, But on her, who already had a shitty life being a shitty sister, it didn't look good, because throughout the whole process, even when she tells herself that she doesn't want to be like that, SHE IS A BITCH, You can't fucking deny that.

The book itself is contradictory because it takes to the extreme 'what I want to do and I think about it but I don't do it', that doesn't happen like that all the time, many times, if you want to change, you grab your balls and you're a damn good person because you want to improve, even when it means leaving your comfort zone, Nesta came to that point very late in the book, her attitude is not simply dry, it's downright hostile, and many people confuse that.

Hostile and dry are not the same, Manon for example, is dry with those who love her, but not hostile (all the time), that is why she is such a beloved character. Rowan, at first is hostile but then he's just Rustic and that's it, because it's his way of shielding himself. Shit, Even Feyre becomes dry (and confused with hostile a lot by some fans) the first time she visits Velaris, (with all reason) but again, to shield herself, and this does not take away the affection for the character because we can empathize And understand why.

With Nesta, we understand why and we don't understand why at the same time, and that in a way, is the point, hurt people hurt people, but why did SJM take her so far if she wanted to give her an arc of redemption? And if she took it that far then why she didn't really make her go through her steps and try to fix her mess?

A character that grows is the one who is self-aware of what she did and does something about it, something for real, and the book end just when she was starting LMAO.

Now, it may be that the intention is that all of that was the journey and the end of the book was the beginning of her "i'm gonna try" era, which would make sense, but 😬 idk, i hold on to that. The book is good, and they empower her quite a bit, and that, taking away everything else, makes her a pretty good character, which is what her fans praise about her book, but I definitely think it could have been better.

MCL: New Gen favs

Hello! This is my post to participate in the E-Girl Pack giveaway by @tetrakys.

Honestly, I don´t use social media a lot, I´m not very techie, so trying to win the code with other creators has been very difficult. But the fact that I'm not a gamer nor very used to playing anything but The Sims (thanks to my brother) is one of the main reasons I LOVE MCL SINCE I STARTED PLAYING IN JUNE 2012, just 5 days before my 14th birthday: I just needed to register, not download anything, not install software that may put my computer in danger, not need to even understand a lot about computers. So, I STARTED PLAYING BECAUSE IT WAS EASY, but I stayed because, you know, Armin ;) jejeje

I was always very shy, but the game made me very happy for years. I knew a lot of people in the forum, and I really liked discovering the story and how the characters grow while I was also growing and learning to understand my own feelings. The day I met my first boyfriend, I arrived home and played MCL feeling for the first time those butterflies in my stomach. The day we kissed for the first time, I wrote in my diary that I felt special, like a girl who could be loved as my sucrette that, in my mind, was a character very opposite to myself, she was strong, outgoing, and it was easy for her to talk to people, so she was everything I wasn't. When he asked me to be his girlfriend, I told myself: "Well, he´s not Armin, but he is mine" (I actually wrote that In my diary, which makes me laugh now that I'm older). MCL was always there, on my mind and my screen, even the day he left me and I was crying, thinking nobody would ever love me again. Yes, I was a dramatic girl, but only my family (and my diary) knew it, because I used to think other people wouldn't like me, and I had a pretty low self esteem. (On a side note, we only lasted like one month, so I was being VERY dramatic).

When I changed schools, I met an outgoing and very cool girl who loved soccer and was always talking about it. I started playing soccer too, and I met a whole team of cool and friendly girls that made me realize I can be very talkative when I´m given the chance. I introduced some of them to the game (do you remember when they gave us AP for bringing our friends to the game?) I think it's fair to say that I forced them to play, and then we all started having long conversations about it ("Castiel is the best one." "No, how dare you? Nath is the best.") It was amazing, we started bonding for more than soccer, and we shared crushes. Time passed and, eventually, my new friend (Ali) started to be distant, and I hated it because I missed her so much, after all, she was my best friend, and I didn't understand why she didn´t want to talk to me. To make a long story short, she confessed to me she was in love with me. I won´t give many details of what happened next, there are some things that still hurt since being a girl who likes girls wasn't easy in 2013 (not that it is much better now, but we didn´t even know many people who were like us, felt like us, or loved like us). What I want to say though is that things got better, and we have been together for 8 years. The best 8 years in my life.

But why am I telling all this story when I'm supposed to talk about my favorite MCL: New Gen things? Well,

MCL has been with me all this time, it MADE ME FEEL LESS ALONE, I discovered my love for writing while I was reading fanfiction with its characters.

When Priya became a crush IT MADE ME FEEL SEEN. It is one of the few games that now, as a grown woman, I am still playing, cause IT'S WHOLESOME and IT MAKES ME FORGET ABOUT THE REAL LIFE DIFFICULTIES.

I always liked following a STORY, I'm a reader and a writer, so I love stories more than anything.

One of my favorite things since I started playing is the PERSONALIZATION, and I like this even more in New Gen, with the new skin colors and the DECORATION OF MY ROOM and, of course, SWEET TAKI.

I love the MINIGAMES, dressing my Sucrette is one of my favorite things, and I just love how different she can look.

The EVENTS are also something I always enjoyed, having new things to dress my Sucrette and a new dynamic each time made me stay awake all night long, just waiting to see everything the team at MCL had prepared for us.

I also have to say that CONTROLLING MY CHARACTER'S ACTIONS is amazing, maybe because I didn´t play much, but that was new for me when I started playing.

I'll let this list end at 8, because that's my favorite number. And this one is all about the BEAUTIFUL COMMUNITY that this game has. My wife and I have been playing since high school, and there are a few of my old friends from the soccer team that I know are also playing to this day, Maybe that's because we miss the old days when we had no responsibilities but to have good grades at school, or maybe it's the pure nostalgia of our teenage years, when we felt a lot, but we also were passionate about a lot of things and felt alive. Maybe we just want to save the good memories, even when they have gone, and we are "free, independent adults" (I used to want to be that, and now that I am, I don't really feel like I'm free, nor independent, nor adult).

Yep, I went deep with that one, Now I'm crying just remembering the good old days, but I also love that this game is giving us another chance to fall in love again with all the things that made us fall the first time. And maybe I'm starting to be too old to play MCL, but I don't care. THIS GAME WAS A BIG PART OF MY TEENAGE YEARS, AND I WANT IT TO BE PART OF MY YOUNG ADULT ONES.

PS: Also, I wouldn't complain if Brune was a crush on New Gen, and maybe she could be reason 9, but I don't want to be that girl who says that the sapphics would be happy if we could win her heart.

Well, that's it. I have my fingers crossed right now. I really like this pack.

Sua, who showed talent in dancing since a young age, came to Seoul from South Gyeongsang’s city of Masan all by herself to start the trainee life. Through 5 years of training and nurturing her ability to copy choreography, Sua started thinking ‘I want to teach others choreography that I make’.

“So of course I used my members. The company suggested that I created choreography for a special clip. I had only been thinking those thoughts, but it was the company’s director that made it actually happen.”

◆ Special clip Sua & Dami 'Havana'

“It was my first choreography so I knew there would be a lot of expectation, and as this team’s main dancer I didn’t want to make an easy dance, so I added in a lot of strange moves and practiced alone.

I first realized when I was doing the ‘Havana’ dance with Dami. ‘If you’re going to teach people a dance, you have to add moves that look good when anyone does it, not just yourself.’”

◆ Special Clip Jiu & Sua & Yoohyeon 'Taki Taki'

“For my second choreography, I picked the members. I wanted to make a hip and hot dance for ‘Taki Taki’, so I picked members that would fit that.

The members did really well to make the choreography look good. What I also felt then was that when the people who are performing pull off the gestures and facial expressions really well, it makes it so fun for the person making the dance. ‘I see this person can pull it off like this.’ The same move can produce a variety of feelings and that in and of itself was fun.

For my first choreography, I learned that ‘I have to create a dance that suits that person’, and for the second one, I learned that ‘it can end up looking good (even differently).’”

◆ Special clip 'COPYCAT'

After showing dances with the members, Sua prepared her first solo performance through ‘COPYCAT’. Sua received inspiration from BTS J-Hope’s solo dance for this choreography.

“I really liked it. So from then on I thought ‘everything I do turns out well’ and gained strength.

It was the result I liked the most. I still watch it even now. I think the composition was perfect. At the time our manager sent the video to our group chat, and Yoohyeon said ‘This dance is totally my style. I want to do it too’. When the members say that they want to do it themselves too, I feel like I created it really well.”

◆ Dreamcatcher B-side 'Red Sun'

Up until then Sua had only been choreographing for special clips, but after choreographing for Dreamcatcher’s B-side song ‘Red Sun’, she showed her choreography on music shows as well.

“It was so fascinating. I was happy even just having the members dance to choreography that I created, but when the music show MC introduced our song by saying ‘Sua’s choreography,’ I felt so good.

From then on I’ve been wanting to choreograph for our title songs as well. My next goal is higher, so I have to do as much research to reach that point.”

◆ Special clip Sua & CLC Seungyeon 'Tadow'

“There were a lot of fans asking for a collaboration with another company’s artist, and coincidentally Seungyeon was doing a program that released a video every month. We had been saying ‘let’s film a dance video together’ for about a year and half, and we felt that ‘now is that time’ so we created a dance together and uploaded it.

It was a choreography with a different vibe compared to our group’s concept, so it was fun. I felt that ‘it is nice to do a variety of dances’, ‘I like dances that are not confined to one thing.’”

Starting with special clips all the way to Dreamcatcher’s group choreography, Sua has even started creating her own YouTube content. Through Dreamcatcher’s YouTube channel, Sua releases her personal vlog called ‘Sua’s Private Life’ that she films and edits herself.

“It’s nice for the company to edit for me, but they have so much to do including group videos and the other members’ personal vlogs. In that way if one person does everything, all the members’ personal vlogs start to have the same vibe.

I definitely had my own style. No captions and fast cuts, to me it felt very easy to watch. So I felt like it was a good idea to edit the videos that I took in my own style. I think I challenged myself to this for practice since I want to open up my own YouTube channel later.

At first I started it fearlessly, but it turns out there’s a lot to do. I have to write all the captions with correct spacing and grammar. After one or two videos, I started to get tired of it. (laughs) So I started doing it all at once right before the deadline.”

Although Sua makes the content on her own, currently ‘Sua’s Personal Life’ is taking a break. “I filmed a lot of vlogs when we went on tour. It’s not a vlog I usually film, so the content and flow becomes repetitive. So I realized I needed to take a break.

Even so, in the future I will keep doing them. Because I bought an editing app. In order to do it, I even bought an Apple Pencil and keyboard. (laughs) I’m the type of person who needs to start something the moment I think of it, so I immediately bought them.”

To ease the absence of ‘Sua’s Personal Life’, Sua recently started filming a CeCi Korea content called ‘Solution Sua’. Sua says “if I keep doing things like this one by one, later on when I make a YouTube channel, maybe it will just feel like a continuation,” and brings about anticipation.

Yes, as far as I know Sensei will be continuing to publish new chapters for the foreseeable future in ihr HertZ magazine (although whether she will ever actually finish is anyone's guess! Personally I hope she continues for years and years, maybe finishes the main story and then just publishes loads of flashbacks and side stories😄). She hasn't published a new chapter for a few months, presumably because she was getting ready for the release of Vol.4, but hopefully we'll get a new one soon! The latest chapter is (new) chapter 12, a non-Pawpads version of Rosa Alba that is still ongoing.

I am asking once again for you to help me find this youtube video, the song in the video, the artwork from the video, or any other information about the video

Hello. This is a highly specific and request, but I am looking for any lead on tracking down a particular youtube video that I watched around the time of 2018, or any information about it. This video has almost certainly been removed from youtube, but that doesn't necessarily mean all information is gone.

So, what is the video? Well it's not actually very spectacular. It is (was) a remix of one of the songs from the anime film Your Name, uploaded to youtube around 2017 or 2018. Unfortunately, my memory of the details here are a bit shaky, it's one of those "I'd know it if I saw it" things. But here is roughly what I can recall:

As mentioned, it's a song from Your Name. I am nearly 90% sure it's a remix, but I'm not 100% sure. I am 80% sure is was the song "sparkle", but it also possibly could have been "zenzenzense" or "nandemonaiya"

It was uploaded around 2017 or 2018; I almost certainly watched it in late 2017 or early 2018

It has very probably been removed for copyright violation.

In the background of the video, it featured a particular piece of fan art. If I remember correctly, the video cycled through several pieces of fan art in the background, and this was one of them, I believe also the one in the thumbnail. The problem with describing this fan art is that almost all Your Name fan art looks exactly the same! But, ok: it featured the two main characters, Mizuha and Taki, standing together with the comet from the movie falling overhead (again, this is 90% of the fan art out there). As I recall, it has something of a fish-eye lens effect, so that the ground appeared curved. Can't remember if it was concave or convex. I believe the art was in a less realistic, more cutetsy style than the actual animation of the movie. It was stylistically distinct enough that I remember it, at least.

I know that's not much to go on, but if anyone else has a recollection of seeing this, and happens to remember the art and/or the name of the remix, please let me know.

As I said, the video is removed from youtube. However, if you go into your youtube history, and then click "manage all history", you can get to a page which shows all your youtube searches and watched videos in order, including removed videos. I have been trawling through my youtube history from around that time, plugging in urls of removed videos to the wayback machine, looking for this video. I have yet to find it. If you think you watched this video and have it's url in your history, I would hugely appreciate if you felt like searching for it a bit and sending me the url.

Anyway, that's the video I'm looking for. I need to find this video for various ~reasons~ but I think it may be lost to time. Hopefully not through.

he's what this fandom thinks shironeki is based on root a only. this has its merits but yeah it's not for me. i mostly think it's pretty boring idk.. cool design, but otherwise very meh

the "no" is because tatara. i remember like yesterday when the chapter was released. i was so shocked and furious at how anticlimactic it all was and well. i haven't changed my mind about that lol not only did i want the chi she lian story (i was obsessed with tatara at some point believe it or not) but also. really? taki's petty vengeance rather than family vendetta? tatara, kakuja and more powerful than his extremely powerful brother, dying from a wound we've seen countless ghouls survive from? (kakuhou hit etc etc i don't care. amon, out of his mind and baby kakuja, survived that.) tatara may not have been a main character but we've been teased this fight since fucking og, okay, i needed the chi she lian flashback. i needed tatara to be the one to off houji. anyway this may seem stupid but this whole deal achieved ruining taki for me

I remember way back in middle school when searching for new romance movies to watch, I first discovered a Silent Voice. But I also stumbled upon the movie Your Name and put it on my watch list but never ever got to it. When looking at the stuff we'd be watching in this class, I saw that Your Name was on the list and did a heel click. Now that I have seen the movie, I can say it's such a good film. The story and visuals are so beautiful. I really do hate that I've waited so long to watch it. 

The movie follows two teenagers from separate sections of Japan, Mitsuha and Taki. They discover that they are mysteriously switching bodies. They seek to meet in person as they get close and navigate one another's lives. When they learn that Mitsuha's community is in danger from a natural disaster, their attempts to alter history to preserve it become more difficult. There were many messages strewn throughout the film, such as gender performativity or unity. The main one that stood out to me was the theme of love and destiny. In the movie, we see Taki, despite all odds and obstacles, try and find Mitsuha no matter what. There is actually a belief that originated in Chinese mythology, called the red thread of fate. This idea said, "People who are destined to meet are connected by an invisible red string. The string may stretch and tangle, but it will eventually bring the two people together."

Overall, this movie was very touching, and though many other themes could be seen in the movie, I focused more on the love aspect of it. The whole concept of destiny and soulmates is really fascinating to me, and this movie fed that fascination.

Your Name

Before this I had never watched Your Name but always really wanted to. So, this gave me an excuse to watch it and oh my goodness I had absolutely no idea what I was missing out on. I knew the movie was gorgeously animated going in but it just blew me away and gave me goosebumps. I can’t describe how good the movie was.

One thing I noticed by the end of the movies was the connections between the people in the movie or the Kizuna. Your Name revolves around the two main characters Mitsuha and Taki. Mitsuha is from the countryside and Taki is from the big city. Throughout the movie the two characters swap into each other's bodies and learn to appreciate the countryside. Mitsuha learns to appreciate where she came from and see that while the big city is fun it’s not where her heart truly belongs. While, Taki gets to live in the countryside while in Mitsuha’s body which he has never done before. He’s always lived his life in the city and living in the countryside he learns to like the idea of a slow life. So, these two characters are connected by the countryside. In Mitsuha’s village life is slow and everyone knows each other much like a gemeinschaft but while it may share some similarities the village people have bonds and ties with everyone or Kizuna. They are bonded together and connected. Which is also the theme of the movie because Mitsuha and Taki are connected together although in a weird nontraditional way. Nevertheless they’re still connected and want to meet each other and bond. In the end of the movie they thankfully do. 

I can’t really relate to this movie because I’ve never lived in a village in the countryside. I grew up in a medium sized town with a decent downtown area. It wasn’t extravagant like New York City or something like that but it was a comfortable area. Now though unfortunately it’s starting to become more and more crowded and after seeing this movie kind of wants to make me move to the countryside. I’ve also never really felt a connection between myself and another person like Mitsuha and Taki. Maybe it’ll happen one day but it hasn’t happened yet. Overall, I HIGHLY recommend you go watch this movie right now. It’s so freaking good. The plot and the feeling of it are just amazing.

Before you continue reading this post, please be aware that you're not obligated to follow this plotline/AU as it is. However, there is a small request/favor I ask in return, which is 'you're not supposed to know who Lightnimon is, unless it's a canon muse who knows Daisuke PRETTY WELL to get the little quirks he accidentally slips in here' -- Ok?.

This AU is something I've been writing for… 4 years (or more?) so far. It's my favorite AU verse and story. It's the reason why I chose this particular Digitamamon (+ his Bakumon companion) as my muse(s). Like, not many people would care deeply about him (or her, Bakumon included), but I somehow got this… emotional attachment to them. Yep.

The plotline in question is:

One day, Daisuke (16-17yo) comes to ask Digi-Chinatown's Digitamamon to teach him how to improve his cooking skills so he can become a chef and open his own ramen shop. Digitamamon accepts the deal, but since this is too risky, Daisuke comes up with a stupid plan to work under disguise and ALIAS -- thus Lightnimon (or Lightni) is born. During the day, Daisuke is a normal and regular high school student from the same class as Hikari and Takeru. And at night he would just become Lightni and work under the orders and discipleship of Digitamamon. But the problem is… Some of the ENEMIES of the Chosen Children also eat at the restaurant, and things get a little hairy.

Now does this disguise work?

Since digimon can spot who’s a digimon and who’s not pretty well, the food scent messes with said senses and it also hides Daisuke’s scent.

Daisuke also tries his best to not talk much and only when needed. Anyone who knows him pretty well is able to identify him. There’s no in between.

To prevent being caught, Daisuke and V-mon have their own “safety route” to go back to human world and to come to the Digital World.

They also avoid using public spaces for that. So, basically he does it from his own room once everyone at home is asleep.

Thanks to 02 ep 33 we learn the 02 group’s digivices can give them the appearance and outfit they deeply want, so this is how Daisuke got this “Lighdramon-esque armor” and how he can switch quickly back to his original appearance. This is referred by “change” when mentioned.

Chef Digitamamon (he/him): The owner of this restaurant, quite strict but with a soft heart. He will fight anyone who tries to hurt his employees and customers, but he will also punch you in the head if you vandalize his building. He's like a father figure to his employees and can speak the ancient digimon language. (Not to be confused with the Family Restaurant/Diner Digimon from Adv99 Ep 23 & 02 Ep 14).

Bakumon (they/them): One of the restaurant's oldest employees. They can talk, but it's easier for them to pretend not to and just repeat the menu when someone asks them about something. They do everything, but mostly to greet and serve customers.

Daisuke AKA Lightnimon (16-17yo, he/him): Just an ordinary Chosen from Odaiba... who once saved the world from BelialVamdemon. So yeah, Daisuke's pretty famous, and of course there are bad and mean digimon who want to beat him and become famous for it. He works disguised as a digimon named "Lightnimon" (or Lightni, as almost everyone calls him) as a student of Digitamamon. Somehow, his ideas and suggestions begin to improve the restaurant to the point that it becomes quite busy later on. (Icons may be from Taki from Your Name tho, since there's no teenager Dai in canon)

V-mon (he/him): Daisuke's partner, best digi-buddy and partner-in-crime when it comes to Daisuke's food experiments. He supports Daisuke so much, but sometimes worries about Daisuke and Daisuke's clumsiness… Although V-Mon can also be a walking mess and stupid. Can evolve into several forms by using Digimentals, but his main adult evolution is XV-mon. Works as a waiter and kitchen assistant.

Gekomon(s) (they/them): A small number of the employees lately are Gekomon from the area. Some of them have probably met Mimi, Palmon, Taichi, Agumon, Jou, and Gomamon before. They have small jobs like helping to serve customers or keeping the place clean.

Shinkai- Your Name

I believe this is the first romance anime in this course, and it was made quite recently as well.

The animation reminds me of Studio Ghibli's aesthetics. Even if you can't hear a word, just looking at the movie is itself a feast for the eyes. And the romance fluff was so sweet and breathtaking. Not to mention the anticipation of Taki and Mitsuha finally meeting, only for an almost tragedy to separate them was so scary.

I think the ending was more satisfying. While I would've liked to see them grow up with each other after the incident, for them to come back after forgetting each other is almost more heartwarming knowing that even if they forgot, just by crossing paths again they fall in love at first sight. Like reincarnated lovers can forget their past lives, yet the moment they see each other, even if memories are long buried, the love rekindles a long-lost fire between them.

Another beautiful thing I wanted to add was the symbolism of strings and life. Well, strings, time, water, life, and "flow" and "union". I know this wouldn't be a magical romance without meaning. I feel like just trying to understand it would take a whole lot longer and writing it would definitely bore readers. Still, I think the transitions between strings and the cords to the comet shooting in the skies seem random and without direction, yet it also has an order or pattern of nature it follows that is random yet brings a harmony that creates life. Scientifically, the random movements atoms have may seem chaotic because it is spontaneous. Yet, the order of each spontaneous movement creates a rhythm that leads to more spontaneity which in turn sparks a new rhythm of its own. All in all, the fact that their love is almost parallel and can practically explain the movement of the cosmos and life the animation showed after Taki fell is so amazing I don't know if my frantic typing can convey how it is seriously going to be stuck in my head all the time from now on.

If your lover/soul mate/not-romantic-friend doesn't write "idiot" or "dummy" on your face while denying having feelings for you, despite feeling lost without them, are you even in love? Not romance anime once again raising standards.

I also like how at one point Taki decides to be mature and not grope Misuha's body "for her sake" only to unconsciously start groping anyways. Arguably he is a teenager, but still kind of weird.

Also, this movie apparently connects to another movie, though the main characters are no longer the main focus.

One final thing I got to point out: the flow as seen through the diverged comet path. Watching multiverse movies, you know there are different timelines or endings. In this case, there are 2 the "good Everybody Lives/No one Dies" and the "bad, no beta we die like ---" ending. The comet has the main body, and then the broken, unforeseen part that diverged and struck Earth. In terms of endings, both the comet that went around and the comet that hit Earth are identical because ether way, Mitsuha's town got destroyed and the comet could not be prevented. In terms of what is happy or not, it's hard to tell. Is the blue comet that leaves Earth the good ending or bad? What happened or what should've or could've happened? Yet both endings are inevitable. Inevitably, the comet that didn't hit before comes back and hits Earth after 1000 years. Mitsuha and Taki may not have met in high school (or at least forgets each other) but they eventually meet as adults. Even if the timeline that Mitsuha dies in means Taki remembers her and they never meet again, they still got to meet anyways even if both get hurt.

I remember hearing about this movie a few years after it was released because that was when I started getting into anime for real. I thought, eh, I'll watch the movie after I finish the list (the day I finish the list and not add a billion new ones that would take me multiple lifetimes to get to, assuming I don't keep adding new ones is the day anime must've died because I would rewatch all the shows I watched up until now because beauty in even anime cannot compare to how it captures the essence of this world's already perfect flaws in its harmonious complexion. I now watch for this course.
