The Rules

I am an indecisive bitch with no sense of scale or scope, so things are subject to change.

As long as it’s something that you can play on a console or computer or anything else that’s powered by electricity, it counts.

okay now that its not lost ... ,media... here's a big ol infodump of fun behind the scenes stuff (sorta reposted from my twitter but i go into more detail):

as a prerequisite, i've actually done like one transcription of mesmerizer before (see bottom of this post). actually recreating mesmerizer started when the twelve by twelve fusion collab got announced to be worked on. i like homestuck, i heard the song, and i decided that doing a mesmerizer part would be really fun to make. iirc i started back in early september for that. cue 4 months later and i (sort of) have the full song done. by sort of i mean that in actuality i finished the song via finishing the like the wind remix, meaning that if i wanna actually recreate the song i'm gonna have to go back and un-rip-ify the like the wind version. oops.

anyway, here's the mixer (with just the bass part playing), all the plugins just splayed out everywhere, and the playlist.

almost all the instruments are either from the mesmerizer stems or are just stock. iirc the only thing that's not from base fl studio is the guitar, which i got recommended from the video "stop using fl slayer" by HowToAvenge101 (i've been using this on and off for a bit). this project is so cpu intensive that my laptop begs for mercy every time i try playing it, so when i was mixing it i had to assemble it piece by piece without being able to hear the whole thing unless i exported it. i said it on twitter but special shoutout to chickensuitguy for helping out with the mixing

below are the screenshots from the piapro demo for miku and synthv for teto i used for this.

i've used miku before when i made miku holly but somehow i managed to get the demo again so im taking the most advantage of this (coughcoughmikualbum). for some of the vocaloid/synthv-related stuff on my youtube channel like parts of the ultimate showdown remix, what i did was use the web version of synthv and then ai-convert it, but i kinda felt bleh about doing that so all my unreleased projects using that are probably gonna be retooled now that i have acquired teto, and will hopefully be acquiring miku soon.

also, expect a fukkireta remix in the future (as in hopefully within the next few days). my vocaloid arc starts NOW.

below are some of the especially difficult parts to transcribe (guitar, piano, lead synth respectively, all from the choruses, not the verse, iirc)

these were REALLY challenging to transcribe and then reharmonize. and yes, you saw that right, i retooled my recreation of the fireflies lead synth to help make this. honestly i'm surprised i got it this close, massive props to 32ki for making such complex layered compositions but also aaagh. aaaaaggghhh. i would have recorded the stems playing themselves but i think my computer would either come to life and try strangling me or explode.

finally, here's my original attempt at transcribing mesmerizer, before i even got the stems. its kind of out of date but its served as a good baseline for making this track (and another one that's a remix waiting to be released for a certain latam tourney...)

also btw seeing how people reacted to the rips getting "lost" was really funny. i wanna shoutout the troll reuploads:

(side note, i was gonna make a last christmas x subways one to be yet another troll reupload on my own channel to reference with the mashup i just uploaded but idk if i wanna finish it lmfao)

so. reflection. making this has made me realize that i'm still somewhat inexperienced with fl studio despite using it for over five years now! like hell even importing the gangnam style midi for the double switch took me like an hour to figure out, so also special thanks to minindo for showing me how to do that. but overall this has legitimately been one of my favorite projects, i am SO happy i pulled this off.

anyway thats all. i have made too much mesmerizer content over the past year and this rip is the big intersection point between my mesmerizer obsession and my subways of your mind obsession. hope yall enjoyed the rip(s). more mesmerizer shitposts to come
