the biggest reveal of the night is that Legend Xros Wars AU Tagiru is actually my memories of canon Tagiru in my mind that were repressed due to negativity, dunkery takes caused by fandom echo chamber.

We didn't give Akashi Tagiru enough credit and respect and we all were unfair to him...

So uh, do you have any tips for... Battling? I'm not a battler, I'm more of a traveler going around the world learning about pokemon.

Most my party are pokemon I had befriended. But I don't know attacks or skills at all, I'm a walking mess at this.

But! Battling is so cool, because of the KA-BOOM and the BANG and the WHOOSH sparks sparkles fire and so many things!!

Ah... I want to know how to do it.

"But Goggle Friend said they want to become a good battler," James gently reminds him, and before either of them can say anything else Jessie excitedly jumps out of her seat.

"That's easy, Goggle Friend! If you want to be a good battler, you gotta fight dirty! Poison your opponent, use any status effects you can to slow them down! Then when they're tired and weak, you strike as hard as you can! That's how you win a battle!"

"Yeah, because that works for us so well," Meowth mutters.

"Then what would you suggest, Charm Head-no-suke!?"

"You already know I don't do battles! Ask Mentor Blue Bruise!"

"Now, now," James laughs nervously, "I think everyone has their own battling style, and it's important to find one that suits you the best. Goggle Friend, your message reminds me of someone we know. Someone who happens to be challenging the Pokemon World Championships. It might be a good idea to watch some of those battles on tv for ideas on how to find your style!"

Catching method: He does NOT like to fight-to-capture, so all his party/team was ‘captured’ by befriending them all. Moar details of those achievements will be done through time as I learn more about the games & poke in general (gimme a break, I only watched til Gen 3 anime & only played PokeStadium in my childhood)

Flare - originally his starter, caught the Mega Evolution in the third time in Kalos. Evolved a bit slower, is a best boi. Due to well care & friendship, Flare is very strong and was able to endure tough battles since he was a Charmander. [he/his]

Lightning - first ‘caught’ poke, actually befriended an Eevee with some snacks and took him to the Pokemon Center to heal from an unfortunate battle (interrupted by Flare at Charmander stage) with a Radicate. Due to Eevee’s quick moves & splendid speed, Dai nicknamed him by ‘Lightning’ and a friend gifted Daisuke with a Thunder Stone when heard about that name. [he/his]

Trickster - second befriended poke, chased her to get his goggles back once he arrived in Johto. Learned that she was actually trying to use it to free her family from a Net set by Team Rocket. Daisuke and his poke-duo helped her & they became friends. Got the name ‘Trickster’ because she’s pretty smart & helpful against the baddies. [she/her]

Sonic - third befriended one, followed Dai when looking for food. Joined the party for the food. Got named after a popular game character. [they/them]

Vee - Luckily found them in an Unova adventure. Joined party after spending a good time with Daisuke & his team. Got nicknamed ‘Vee’ because of the V-shaped ears. Vee does not fight, them only blesses the party with luck. Besties with everyone in party. [they/them]

Lupin - Recent befriended one, saved from drowning in the sea when she was a Rockruff. Evolved faster and got the name ‘Lupin’ because of ‘lupine’ word. Very nice doggo. [she/her]

Persona AU(s) - extra info

So figured a few things out and since Rui is my main muse nowadays, i think he's the "protag" in my Persona AU-verses; something something like Wonder/Nagisa is in P5X? Or uhhh, P3R Ep Aigis with Aigis herself...

The Velvet Room:

Rui's Velvet Room is a very cozy living room with a fireplace. It's bigger like a mansion, something to mean he would like a safe and comfortable place for himself instead of a small apartment and isolated from others (or a dorm room, it depends which verse is.)

When he's there he finds the blue a bit jarring but also it makes him calm at the same time. He usually finds himself there when he's spacing out... or being dragged by his Attendant when he needs to have a talk.

The Attendant:

The Velvet Room Attendant is none other than Yuugo. You know, Kamishiro Yuugo from CSHM? Yeah. That one. Yuugo's personality is a contrast to Rui's "sensible and straightforward" -- he's polite but tends to be kinda ambiguous. He has the behavior of intervening, acting like a lead figure and fighting for what is right.

Since Rui is sorta enby... well, Yuugo also has some ambiguity regarding his gender, but he still uses he/him pronouns anyway.
