“The Israeli military has a history of attacks on media structures,” Carlos Martinez de la Serna explained. In May 2021, a tower housing the Qatari media organization Al Jazeera and the American news agency The Associated Press (AP) was destroyed by three missiles, on the basis, the Israeli military claimed, of an imminent threat posed by Hamas’s presence in the building. When questioned publicly, Israel provided no evidence to support this claim. Since October 7, 2023, the phenomenon has taken on unprecedented proportions. In response to the Hamas terrorist attack on Israeli soil, the Israeli military has relentlessly bombarded the Gaza Strip, a 365-square-kilometer territory barely larger than Malta. News coverage in the Gaza Strip has become extremely limited. “When you look at the conflicts around the world … you would usually have the international media on the ground,” said Irene Khan, UN Special Rapporteur on the promotion and protection of the right to freedom of opinion and expression. “None of them have been allowed access. Or they’re embedded within the IDF.” Only Gazan journalists can report on what is happening in the Gaza Strip. They struggle daily to survive and find places to take refuge. In many cases, their places of work no longer exist. According to the Palestinian Journalists’ Syndicate (PJS), around 70 press organizations, including local radio stations, news agencies, transmission towers, and journalist training institutes, have been partially or completely destroyed since the start of the war. Forbidden Stories has carried out this investigation in collaboration with AFP, Arab Reporters for Investigative Journalism, Le Monde, Paper Trail Media and other international media outlets as part of the Gaza Project. Supported by the analyses of experts in ballistics and audio, it illustrates one of the many strategies used by the Israeli military to stifle information in Gaza: the destruction of press infrastructure.

🗣️ It's a pretty low-cost show 🗣️
The number of people who are convinced that Caitríona and Mr McNoExistance are 'romantically involved' never ceases to amaze me. I will never understand it, never. So, here's a little brainteaser for you today. Just a quick comparison of two photos taken at different times and at two different events. Both feature the same person, Caitríona, and both are from fashion shows.
The first photo is of Caitríona with her coiffeur (the lovely Gareth Bromell).
[Caitríona at the Loewe Womenswear Fall Winter 2023-2024 show as part of Paris Fashion Week on 3 March 2023 in Paris]
*** *** ***
The second one is of Caitríona with her alleged 'love of her life' and 'bone of her bone'.
[Caitríona at the Salvatore Ferragamo show during Milan Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2017 on 25 September 2016 in Milan]
I'll leave it to you to draw your own conclusions.
(Although I can guess what those might be, so here goes 😬😬😬)
*** *** ***
If you ask me, she was breastfeeding Boo1 at the time the Ferragamo show took place. Just look at her curvier silhouette, rounded face (she was previously very lean with almost bony features), and her breasts are so full.
And her expression said it all: 'What am I doing here? I should be somewhere else right now'.
Those who believe in the idea of a cute little blonde vampire (and no children before 2021) will say that Caitríona simply put on weight during her trip to Italy. After all, that's the official version of summer 2016: a long holiday in Italy. She ate a lot of pasta carbonara and pizza capricciosa. And of course she drank many, many litres of Aperol Spritz - it can make you 'fat'! I, on the other hand, will say that I think it's a pretty poor show that doesn't take account of people's real lives. It is a complete and utter disgrace and it needs to be stopped.

Jon Kent (pretty much) Complete Reading Order
Compiled first for my personal use and tidied up for @jonkentweek ! Goes up to June 2024 and includes every appearance of this character that I could find. I used ComicVine's archive to track these down, which is both fallible and constantly being updated, so there might be some mistakes. Also, I did my best to highlight the occasions where Jon was a significant character in a story and to skip the ones that were just a non-speaking, one-panel cameo, but those were personal judgements and your mileage might vary.
Color key (and apologies for the eye strain): Red are issues in which Jon is a central character, not just a cameo, Blue are crossover events, Orange are stories that take place in alternate universes/are non canonical
Optional stuff you can read for historical context:
Whatever Happened to the Man of Tomorrow? (1997) a classic possible future story, which is, to my knowledge, the 1st time a character named Jon who is Superman’s kid appears
Son of Superman (1999) a self-contained, now AU, story about a teen Jon Kent, very classic 90s young adult comic with all the tropes that come with that, but enjoyable as the proto-iteration of Jon as an idea
Canon appearances start here
The Final Days of Superman crossover event: Superman (2011) 51-52, Batman/Superman (2013) 31-32, Action Comics (2011) 51-52, Superman/Wonder Woman (2013) 28-29 (This is the origin story of the Clark, Lois and Jon that the comics follow in Rebirth. Largely ignored by writers, as it was written to patch up New52 weirdness, but there are occasional references that might be confusing if you skip it completely.)
Convergence (2015) 5, 8
Superman: Lois and Clark (2015) 1-8 (Establishes Jon and his family in the DCU)
Superman (2016) 1-11, 13, 17-28, 30, 32-36, 38, 40-45, Special 1
Action Comics (2016) 957-972, 974-978, 980-983, 985, 987, 989-1000, 1002, 1005, 1016, 1022-1035, 1042, 1045-1048, 1050-1057, 1059-1060, Special 1, Annual 2023

Trinity (2016) 1-6, 16
Super Sons (2017) 1-16
Dark Nights: Metal (2017) 3, 6

DC Nation Presents Future State (2020) (intro, information and behind-the-scenes for Future State)
Future State: Superman of Metropolis (2021) 1-2 (Future State is another possible future, meaning that it’s not necessarily canon, but it takes place in the future of the main canon, not in a complete AU, like say, Dark Knights of Steel. Technically not necessary to understand main universe stories, but a few popular characters and characterizations were brought over to the main universe.)
Future State: Justice League (2021) 1-2
Future State: Superman/Wonder Woman (2021) 1-2
Future State: Kara Zor-el, Superwoman (2021) 1

Superman: Son of Kal-el (2021) 1-18, Annual 1
Shazam! (2021) 1
Superman Red and Blue (2021) 6 (in the short story The Special, but this mini series in general is cute and I recommend it)
Justice League vs. The Legion of Super-Heroes (2022) 1-6
Superman & Robin Special (2022) 1
DC’s Round Robin (2021) 2 (in the short story Superboy: The Man of Tomorrow)

The impact of the riots at the Stonewall Inn in June 1969 has often been overblown. Those few summer days when the beleaguered gay community fought back against the police on the streets of New York City are rightly considered a milestone in the struggle for equal rights in the West. But endless arguments about ‘who threw the first brick?’ have obscured the truth that gay equality was achieved by the activists who persisted in the aftermath, harnessing that energy and changing the world forever.
Perhaps a more important milestone was the march organised by a handful of campaigners a year after Stonewall. Craig Rodwell’s idea had been to make this a yearly commemoration that would supersede the ‘Annual Reminder’ picket events that he had been holding every Independence Day in Philadelphia since 1965. It would be known as the ‘Christopher Street Liberation Day’ – later retrospectively rebranded as the first New York ‘Pride march – and it was orchestrated chiefly by Rodwell, Fred Sargeant, Linda Rhodes and Ellen Broidy.
The march took place on 28 June 1970, and it was an audacious display. Police hostility to gay people was rife, the local media were overwhelmingly unsympathetic and there were fears of violent repercussions from observers. The day passed off peacefully, perhaps because of a general sense of astonishment that thousands of gay people would assemble so openly. A reporter for the Village Voice wrote that ‘no one could quite believe it, eyes rolled back in heads, Sunday tourists traded incredulous looks, wondrous faces poked out of air-conditioned cars’. At the head of the march, Fred Sargeant carried a bullhorn and called out instructions to the marchers as they made their way from the West Village to Central Park.
Fifty-four years later, and Pride has transformed from an important act of resistance into a month-long orgy of corporatism and virtue-signalling, full of heterosexuals desperate to identify themselves into an oppressed group with the help of trans ideology. ‘Progress Pride’ flags flutter from every high-street store. This relatively new design – a kaleidoscopic eyesore that has replaced the traditional six-stripe Pride flag – is emblazoned on schools, universities, hospitals, civic buildings. In the city of Arlington in Texas, this year’s family friendly Pride event included displays of dildos, half-naked drag queens and human dogs in bondage gear, all co-spon.sored by Lockheed Martin, the world’s largest producer of armaments. In London, numerous pedestrian crossings have been repainted with the ‘Progress Pride’ motif. Police horses find walking across the coloured stripes confusing and disturbing, so the animals have undergone special training to overcome their fears. After all, it is essential to address the rampant homophobia within the equine community.
What might the thousands who turned out on that summer day in New York in 1970 make of this distorted version of Pride? Those gay men and lesbians who risked social ostracism and physical violence to gather in public have little in common with this garish and unsettling facsimile. A poll from 2021 determined that almost 40 per cent of Americans between the ages of 18 and 24 now identify as LGBTQ. Given the vast majority identifying as such do so as ‘trans’, ‘nonbinary’ and ‘queer’, this means it is statistically certain that gay people are now the minority in this coalition. The early pioneers of gay rights didn’t risk so much for their movement to be usurped by fetishistic heterosexuals with a martyr complex.
It would be interesting to see polling data on how many gay people support Pride in its new ‘trans-inclusive’ incarnation. One recent poll on X asked a simple question: ‘Do you want Pride anymore?’ And although 93.5 per cent of respondents replied in the negative, social-media polls are notoriously useless and we would be unwise to draw any conclusions from them. Still, it is surely significant that this poll was reposted by Fred Sargeant, and that his answer was a resounding ‘No’. That the man who led the first Pride march, bullhorn in hand, should now reject the annual event that he co-created because of its embrace of gender ideology is far from trivial. Nor is it trivial that while handing out pamphlets critical of the trans movement at a Pride event in Vermont in 2022, Sargeant was physically attacked by trans activists.
[ A parade through New York City on Christopher Street Gay Liberation Day, 1971. ]
He is not alone. Many gay people have expressed dismay at the metamorphosis of Pride and feel that it no longer represents them. This can be confusing for those who have not been paying attention to its ongoing political evolution, but there is a very good reason why groups of gay men and lesbians are now holding alternative Pride rallies this year. In August 2022, police insisted that lesbians leave a Pride parade because their banners, proclaiming that ‘lesbians don’t like penises’ and ‘trans activism erases lesbians’, were causing consternation. When gay people are being escorted away from Pride marches by the police, we can safely say that the movement has fallen.
Some might argue that the LGBTQIA+ explosion is an example of what happens when liberalism goes unchecked, that it is the natural consequence of an excess of tolerance and the rise of identity politics. Yet while identity politics in its current intersectional form has proven to be deeply illiberal and regressive, there have been sound reasons throughout history for people with shared characteristics to organise and resist. Unlike the various campaigns for imaginary victimhood that dominate today’s ‘social justice’ causes, being openly gay in the 1970s came at a huge cost. At the time of the first Pride parade, every state in the US with the exception of Illinois criminalised gay sex. In services and employment, discrimination against gay people was permitted, and even most progressives assumed that homosexuality was a mental illness. This is a world away from the exaggerated or fabricated grievances of the diversity, equity and inclusion industry today.
Now that gay people have complete equal rights under the law, the protest element of Pride has been appropriated by those with an apparent craving for oppression. Asexual activists, for instance, have taken centre stage at certain Pride events, even though nobody in the history of humankind has ever been burned at the stake for not wanting to have sex. It isn’t the case that those who identify as asexual are facing discrimination; it’s that nobody cares about what they don’t get up to in the bedroom. But of course, for those of a narcissistic temperament, there can be nothing more devastating than being ignored.
[ Furries march on Congress Street during the annual Pride Portland parade, 2017. ]
Many of those who call themselves ‘nonbinary’ are similarly vocal, but there is no serious comparison to be made between the historical persecution of homosexuals and experiencing some pushback when you demand that others refer to you as ‘they’ or ‘them’. Coming out as gay in 1970 increased the risk of being violently assaulted; coming out as ‘nonbinary’ today only increases one’s chances of being employed at the BBC.
Of course, all of this must be symptomatic of the developing cult of victimhood in the Western world. Ironically, there is now power in being the victim. Those who claim to be ‘marginalised’ are able to get people fired, drive them from public life, and harass and bully them in the name of ‘progress’. Who would have thought there was so much clout in being oppressed?
Far from being a collective gesture of unity, Pride is now widely interpreted as a celebration of homophobia. This is because it has become infected with gender ideology, which seeks to eliminate gay people from their own history. Although trans-identified individuals were rarely seen at activist meetings and events in the early decades of the gay movement, revisionists are now insisting that gay people owe their rights to the hard work of trans campaigners. We are told that a black trans woman, Marsha P Johnson, was the key figure at the Stonewall riots. This is wrong on many counts. The riots were overwhelmingly dominated by young gay men. Although Johnson took part in the demonstrations, he wasn’t present when the rioting began. Most significantly, by his own admission, he was a transvestite who didn’t identify as female.
Fred Sargeant has been much vilified for exposing the truth of what took place in these early years of the gay rights’ movement, and he is now a thorn in the side of activists whose worldview depends on a narrative that runs contrary to the truth. Recently he posted a link to the Digital Transgender Archiveon the Third International Conference on Transgender Law and Employment Policy, which explicitly outlines how gay and trans movements in the 20th century were completely separate. The conflation of the LGB and T is an invention as recent as 2015. As the document explains, while the gay-rights movement in the US began in the 1920s, ‘the existence of a transgendered community that seeks reforms did not come into existence until the 1990s’.
The historical revisionism doesn’t end at Stonewall. Activists have attempted to claim that certain gay historical figures were mistaking their true trans identity for homosexuality. Just as Mormon priests have been known to baptise the dead and thereby convert them unwillingly to their cause, trans activists have been busy harvesting the annals of history for potential recruits. Those falsely claimed as trans include George Eliot, Dr James Barry, Radclyffe Hall and Joan of Arc. People who were gay and gender nonconforming are particularly vulnerable to this kind of retrospective ‘transing’. It’s very convenient for activists that the dead can’t complain.
While many trans campaigners consider themselves supportive of gay rights, overt homophobia is nonetheless often tolerated and encouraged within their circles. There are innumerable examples online of trans activists claiming that homosexuality is a form of transphobia and that only bigots have ‘genital preferences’. ‘If you’re a cis gay man’, writes one, ‘and your sexuality revolves around you not liking female genitalia I hope you die and I will spit on your grave’. A video recently went viral featuring an activist explaining to gay men why they should transition to female and that ‘maybe being gay is an outdated concept’. An online influencer called Davey Wavey uploaded his attempt at gay conversion therapy in a video entitled ‘How To Eat Pussy – For Gay Men’. One can imagine it being shown to young men at an evangelical Christian retreat for those who wish to find a ‘cure’ for their immoral urges.
This isn’t simply a case of a handful of lunatics on the fringe – this idea has also been normalised in mainstream gay culture. Australia’s Human Rights Commission prohibits lesbians from holding female-only events on the grounds that it discriminates against men who identify as female. Sall Grover, the founder of women’s app Giggle, is currently in a legal battle in Australia because she refused to allow a man to join. Stonewall has even redefined ‘homosexuality’ on its website as ‘same-gender attracted’. Its former CEO, Nancy Kelley, once suggested that women who don’t wish to date trans people are ‘sexual racists’. No, Nancy, they’re just gay.
We have seen all this before. In the 1980s, it was a common trope for gay men to be told that they ‘just haven’t found the right girl yet’ and to suggest to lesbians that they ‘just need the right dick’. The rights of homosexuals depend upon a recognition that a minority of people are attracted to their own sex. Once sex is eliminated from the equation, gay rights are no longer tenable.
The most obvious example of how gay rights have been threatened by trans ideology is that young gay people are disproportionately at risk of surgical ‘correction’. Given that between 80 and 90 per cent of adolescents referred to the NHS Tavistock Clinic were orientated towards their own sex, it is clear that in many cases homosexuality was being treated as gender dysphoria. I am usually mistrustful of accusations of various ‘phobias’ which can be used as a rhetorical technique to discourage disagreement. But if medicalising people for being same-sex attracted doesn’t qualify as homophobic, I’m not sure that anything does.
And so Pride and its accoutrements have come to represent an ideology that seeks not only to erase the foundations of gay rights, but also to re-conceptualise same-sex attraction as a condition that requires medical treatment. When police officers decorate their cars with the Pride colours, when NHS workers display the rainbow lanyard, when schools decorate their halls with bunting in solidarity, they are almost certainly doing so with the noble intention of promoting equal rights. But they are inadvertently promoting a movement whose end goal is the eradication of homosexuality.
This is not to deny that the ‘Progress Pride’ flag and all it represents have been embraced by many gay people. It is clearly the case that a majority have not realised the extent to which the flag has been hijacked for a cause that actively works against their interests. The situation has hardly been helped by prominent celebrities, often now referred to as ‘Vichy gays’, who have cheered on this sinister development. Homosexuals are not immune to the condition of useful idiocy.
Given that Pride has become so divisive, and given that so many lesbians, bisexuals and gay men now consider it to be an essentially hostile enterprise, it would be prudent for corporations and government bodies to stop pretending that there is a consensus on this issue. Ignorance is no longer an excuse. By flying the ‘Progress Pride’ flag, they are taking a side in a highly contentious cultural debate, one that alienates as many gay people as it attracts. Those who are serious about gay rights need to distance themselves from Pride once and for all.

A man who served time for domestic violence wants to wedge himself into a community where the women would not want to be alone with him for religious reasons.
By Anna Slatz June 25, 2024
The City of New York has agreed to pay out a $350,000 settlement to a man who identifies as a Muslim woman for keeping him in the men’s section of Rikers Island while he was awaiting trial on domestic violence charges. Ali Miles, formerly known as Dylan Miles, had initially demanded over $22,000,000 in compensation.
As previously reported by Reduxx, Miles was incarcerated at the George R. Vierno Center on Rikers Island from June to July of 2022. He had been arrested on a warrant out of Arizona.
Following his brief detention on Rikers Island, he was transferred back to Arizona and placed in Yavapai County Jail. He was ultimately tried and found guilty of two counts of aggravated harassment per domestic violence, a Class 5 felony, for instances dated in November 2021 and February 2022.
He was also found guilty of disorderly conduct, harassment, threatening or intimidating, and false reporting to a law enforcement agency, which are all Class 1 misdemeanors.
Dylan Miles.
In October of 2022, he was placed on supervised probation for a period of three years and sentenced to 312 days in jail, with credit added for the 132 days he had already been held there. Miles was also subject to a domestic violence assessment.
But in August of 2023, Miles filed a lawsuit against the City of New York, seeking damages related to “gender identity discrimination” for having been detained in the men’s section of Rikers Island. The suit argued that Miles had informed the court that he was transgender and required special detention accommodations.
The judge had reportedly agreed, and orders were then marked to notify the prison and Intake Personnel that Miles was to be housed at the female-only Rose M. Singer facility on Riskers Island, but he was not.
Miles claimed that he suffered discrimination, including being subjected to “transphobic” remarks from prison staff, while incarcerated in the men’s facility. He also claimed to have been the victim of sexual assaults, in particular emphasizing his “sexual victimization” by multiple “African American male” inmates.
Miles alleged that a prison staff member said “we don’t do the trans thing here” after he demanded to be moved to the women’s section. He was then strip-searched by a male guard he alleged told him that he had “nice tits” and “one hell of a pussy.” This is despite Miles not having had any known genital surgeries.
While the City of New York rejected and refuted Miles’ claims, on June 21, they offered to settle the case for $350,000.
The settlement agreement stipulated that they were not admitting guilt in the situation, and that Miles would no longer be able to take legal action against them for this matter in the future.
Miles is a prolific litigant, and, as previously reported by Reduxx, has filed a number of suits alleging discrimination by various businesses.
In May of 2023, Miles filed a lawsuit against a New York yoga studio seeking compensation of $5,000,000 after employees reportedly asked him to use the men’s restroom instead of the women’s.
In the suit, Miles alleged that the personnel at Chelsea Yoga “deprived [him] of his civil rights because he is gay, undergoing a gender transition, and because Miles does not conform to … gender-based preferences, expectations, or stereotypes about how a man/woman should dress and conduct himself/herself.”
But shortly after that suit was launched, Reduxx learned that Miles had filed at least four other lawsuits, making similar claims of transphobic victimization in each.
In February of 2022, Miles filed a civil action for $75,000 in compensation against Sedona Soul Adventures, an Arizona-based business he had previously worked for. Miles alleged that the tourism company had wrongfully terminated his employment shortly after he was hired after subjecting him to “gender identity-based harassment and discrimination.” The suit was dismissed after an out-of-court agreement was reached.
One month later, Miles filed two separate civil actions — one against Planet Fitness and one against Bagel Point, both, again, on the basis of “gender identity-based harassment and discrimination.” In both, Miles represented himself, and failed to use consistent pronouns, often calling himself “Mr. Miles.”
In his poorly-written civil action, Miles alleged that staff at a Planet Fitness threatened to sound the “lunk alarm” on him for entering the women’s facilities, and used a slur when referring to him. The “lunk alarm” is a fixture seen at most Planet Fitness gyms intended to provide a humorous “warning” to those being too loud or obnoxious in the gym.
Miles demanded compensation of $10,000,000 from Planet Fitness, but the suit was ultimately dismissed after he failed to file the appropriate paperwork and pay $402 in filing fees as requested by the court.
In his action against Bagel Point, a cafe in Brooklyn, Miles sought $75,000 in damages alleging he had been wrongfully terminated and subjected to verbal abuse on the basis of his gender identity.
Miles had been an employee of Bagel Point for a short period of time, during which he claimed the owner, a Muslim woman, had referred to him using slurs and mocked his gender identity, as well as crafting “unsubstantiated” complaints about his performance. The action, which was rife with spelling errors, was dismissed by the court once again after Miles failed to file the appropriate paperwork and pay $402 in filing fees.
In yet another suit, Miles sought compensation from New York Presbyterian Hospital, once again claiming to have faced discrimination on the basis of his gender identity. The suit was dismissed and an appeal was not filed.

Penny, who is a manager of a tavern in Las Vegas, shared the alleged story told to her by one of her former employees who served Affleck while he gambled in a Vegas casino. In a TikTok video, she explained that Tiffany, who once worked as a cocktail waitress in her establishment, went on to work at casinos in the city where she allegedly met Affleck in June 2021. He had traveled to Las Vegas with Lopez and her mother. According to Penny, Affleck sat down at a poker table that Tiffany had been serving. “He wound up sitting at the poker table for her entire shift and she stayed an hour and half over [her shift],” she says. “She took care of him that entire time while he was gambling.” She adds that Tiffany had not taken any other customers during her shift and was only serving Affleck. Penny reports that Affleck was “very happy” with Tiffany’s service. When she went to alert the “Batman” star that she was leaving for the evening, Lopez had arrived and was standing behind him. “Ben goes, ‘thank you very much, you were great. I hope you’re here tomorrow I’m gonna be back,’” she says. Affleck allegedly then placed $10,000 in Tiffany’s tray as a tip. Unfortunately, she did not get to keep it. “Jennifer immediately snatched the money, said ‘hell no!’ and took it back,” Penny alleges. The incident left Affleck so mortified, that he decided to grant Tiffany a token of appreciation in a different way. The next morning when Tiffany arrived at work, she was surprised to discover a note from the actor along with two other surprise gifts. “There was a note that said he profusely apologized and was completely embarrassed,” Penny says. Along with the note, there was a bouquet of flowers and $25,000. “Ben is an excellent tipper, J. Lo is a piece of s–t,” she adds. This alleged incident is not the first time Lopez has been accused of treating customer service workers poorly. In a now-deleted TikTok video, a former casino dealer claimed that Lopez is “stingy” and reportedly tells Affleck not to tip. The pop star allegedly circles back to each table that Affleck was served, takes the tip money he originally left them and replaces it with $5 or $10.

The Bear Timeline
This is based on this article, but there are a few flaws within it. They cite The French Laundry as a New York restaurant, but it is located in Northern California.
We don't know how old Carmy is, but this article says he's supposed to be 26 in season 2, and the season 1 screenplay portrays him as 25
I can't explain the barbeque incident that Richie and Carmy discussed in Season 1 because Carmy was not alive when Mikey turned 15. My conspiracy theory is that the line got mixed up, and it happened on Carmy's 15th birthday.
Birth Years: Mikey 11/15/1979, Sugar 11/10/1988, Carmy 1997
2015
If Carmy was, in fact, born in 1997, he would have been Class of 2015 He wants to work at The Beef, but Mikey says no, so Carmy goes to culinary school in France. Culinary programs seem to be between 3-9 months (let's split the diff and say Carmy finished in 6 months) So Carmy graduates high school in June of 2015. Let's say he takes a month off between graduating high school and starting culinary school.
2016
Carmy finishes culinary school and maybe stages somewhere in France, or the kid is just really lucky and lands a gig at The French Laundry straight out of culinary school *the logistics confuse me on this part* Works at The French Laundry in California Works at Ever in Chicago and meets Luca Works at Noma (Denmark) with Luca
2017
Carmy returns from Denmark The Fishes Dinner
2018 -2021
Carmy moves in with Michelle and Steven. Carmy works at Empire and eventually becomes a CDC Carmy turns 21 and wins The Best Up & Coming Chef He also wins a James Beard Award
2022
Mikey dies by suicide in February, Carmy doesn't return to Chicago until the Summer of 2022 (Let's call it June since Richie was running The Beef alone for four months before Carmy comes home) Season 1 Episode 3 takes place in November (Sugar calls to say it was Mikey's birthday at the end of the episode) So Season 1 is presumably over by the end of 2022
2023
The Beef changes to The Bear. Sugar's pregnancy (Beginning of season 2-almost end of season 3) The Fridge Scene is supposed to happen in March of 2023, which means season 3 is the spring/summer of 2023

Unfortunate. {Yamada Jiro x Reader}
Description:
A fic in which Jiro is a menace and reader has the unfortunate luck to sit next to him in class and witness the atrocities he brings upon his sandwich.

Tags: fluff, jiro being a dork, reader loves messing with the poor boy, reader is assumed to be his/around his age!, not beta'd, not edited, gender neutral reader, hypnosis mic/hypmic x reader, hypnosis mic/hypmic, jiro yamada
Word Count: 1,205
A/N: Written on: June 25, 2021
I JUST, ADORE MAKING JIRO A MENACE; one of my sisters adores him (the other, saburo, so I guess its lucky I like ichi,) so I decided to write this chaotic pairing mostly for her but, to share as well
───── ⋆⋅☆⋅⋆ ─────
“Jiro!”
“(Y/n), shh!”
“How did you--”
“Shh!” Jiro frantically waved his hands in front of their face, trying to keep them quiet. “Please!”
“Why did you--”
“You two, stop talking.”
“Yes teacher.” “Sorry...”
(Y/n) faced forward, but continued to side-eye the ceiling above the boy who sat next to her. Stuck to the ceiling was a slice of cheese that he didn’t like on the sandwich he kept sneaking bites of.
They had been watching him—taking glances, really—throughout class since he did an unusual amount of fidgeting today. They watched as he slowly but surely managed to unwrap a sandwich he must have bought from the convenience store on the way to school, and hastily take bites from behind his standing notebook or whenever the teacher turned their back. At first, (Y/n) thought they were seeing things until they did a double-take and realized that no, Yamada Jiro was in fact trying his hardest to eat a sandwich without being caught. They had to stifle a few laughs as he had to frantically chew a few bites to answer a question or chew very, very slowly as he leaned back in his chair to seem less suspicious. Once he finished the sandwich, (Y/n) thought he was home-free and silently cheered for him, getting oddly engrossed in the whole adventure without sharing a word with him—until he took out another one.
(Y/n) looked at him incredulously. After fighting with the first one for a few hours, he was going to take out another one? They gripped the edge of their desk—just wait until lunch time! The second time, however, his first bite caused him to pale like a ghost; that really caught (Y/n)’s attention. Jiro looked like he was struggling to swallow a brick before he finally stuck his tongue out in disgust and opened his sandwich, taking out the culprit. (Y/n) only glanced at the moment, seeing that he must not have liked the cheese—either taste of texture wise, they didn’t know and didn’t care enough to ask—and returned their eyes to their book; it was the sudden, subtle slapping sound that caused them to freeze in place with a monotone look on their face.
Slowly, almost robotically, they turned their head towards Jiro, and watched him happily take another bite of his sandwich. The wrapping had no discarded cheese on it. They continued staring at him hard, burning a hole in the side of his head until he slowly gave them a side-eye. He jumped a bit, turning to them with one cheek full like a hamster, quickly chewing now that he had gotten caught.
“What was that?” They whispered.
“What was what?” Jiro whispered back, nervously hiding his sandwich.
“That sound.” They subtly gestured to his sandwich. “And where did your cheese go.”
“My cheese--” His face lit up in embarrassment, “Have you watched me the entire time?”
“No!” They quietly hissed. “Yes. Only glances here and there! Where did your cheese go!”
“I got rid of it!”
“It’s not in your wrapper!”
“What kind of interrogation is this, I thought we were in math class!”
“Where is the--”
A small piece of cheese fell onto his desk. Very slowly, (Y/n) turned their head towards the ceiling as Jiro pleaded for them to just face forward and pretend they didn’t see anything. When their eyes landed on the seemingly nasty piece of cheese attached to the ceiling, their face twisted in both grim and disgust. That’s how they ended up here, now lunchtime, as (Y/n) stood next to Jiro's desk with one hand on top of the desk and the other on their hip.
“Now will you tell me how you got that to stick to the ceiling?”
“I just gave it a good throw,” he mumbled through the rest of his sandwich. “A little launch. That’s all.”
“W--” They looked up at the cheese then back down to him. “Why are you saying that so casually? And what made you think you should throw it up there in the first place!”
“It was gross, I didn’t like it.”
“That’s when you put it in your wrapper to throw away later!” They gestured heavily to the ceiling. “Not just... toss it to the ceiling!”
Jiro looked at them for a while, like he was trying to process their words, before just shrugging and taking the last bite of his sandwich. (Y/n) sighed and folded their body as emphasis on how exhausted they were trying to understand his logic. They’ve sat next to him for a fairly long time in their school career, they were well aware he wasn’t dumb, but this time...
“Moving on,” he swallowed his food and leaned on his hand, stretching his body across his desk and looking up at them through his lashes with a smirk on his lips. “Are ya always starin’ at me?”
(Y/n) scoffed and flicked him on the forehead.
“Why in the world would I spend my time staring at you?”
“’Cause I’m cute and you’ve had a crush on me for years and you just can’t take it anymore so you stare at me longingly, even while I eat, thinking, ‘oh, Jiro, if only I were that sandwich, how you would hold me and--’”
“I’m going to stop you right there. What kind of manga are you reading now?”
(Y/n) smacked him on the arm—soft enough to know they were playing around, but hard enough to ease the fact they were embarrassed they had been read like a book—even if it was accidental on his part. He just laughed in response and continued smirking at them, doing his best to flirt with them since he never gets the chance; he’s always too nervous to ask them to hang out or have actual conversations with them—he was going to seize the moment.
“You can borrow it if you want. Or... you can come by my place and we could watch the anime together sometime?”
“Is that so?”
“Just admit you’re in love with me, god, (Y/n).”
It was (Y/n)’s turn to laugh, taking the opportunity to beat him at his own game and lean in close to him, a devilish smile playing in their favour.
“If I admit it, then it’d be no fun.”
Jiro’s eyes widened, watching as (Y/n) straightened up and turned to leave, heading towards the cafeteria to grab their own lunch. He stuttered a bit, no real words coming out; when they finally did, his voice cracked.
“Wait, really?” He sat up in his chair, “So... does that mean you’ll actually go on a date with me if I ask?”
“Who knows?” (Y/n) threw over their shoulder, rounding the corner and leaving the room.
What (Y/n) unfortunately missed was how Jiro leaned onto his desk again, sighing longingly only to shout once the slimy cheese had fallen from the ceiling onto his face. They heard him shout from the hall, however, and couldn’t stop themselves from laughing—they had noticed it start to fall a while back and had to leave before it fell on them instead.
Maybe they would go on that date with him. They’ll bring sandwiches with extra cheese.

Welcome to the Shadow of the Eclipse
October 4-31, 2023
Some introductory notes
The “shadow of the eclipse” is a time period lasting from 10 days before the first eclipse, to three days after the final eclipse. It is recommended not to start anything new, or schedule anything important, during these days - as usual I refer everyone to the 1981 wedding of Lady Diana Spencer to the Prince of Wales, as an example.
Of course we live in a place/time which scoffs at letting astrology help with the timing of events - therefore don’t lose hope if something falls unavoidably within the eclipse shadow. Just be prepared.
I wanted to take a more thorough approach to delineation, this time. I hope it’s helpful.
South Node Solar Eclipse
A solar eclipse happens when the New Moon lies close (in the Zodiac) to either the North Lunar Node, or to the South one. It occurred to me to do a little research on whether which Node is involved, makes any difference - and yes, it does.
Astrologers call the South Node “the dragon’s tail” - Steven Forrest calls the South Node, “the dragon’s butt” - because here we are “pooping out” what we don’t need and can’t use. (One person’s poop, however, is another person’s fertilizer.)
Eclipses conjunct the South Lunar Node, like the October 14 one, have an outflowing (outpooping?) of energy. They tend to feature external events which we have to “rise up to.”
If you’d like to note how these have affected you in the past (always a good idea to check “what happened last time”), here is a list of the previous South Node solar eclipses in this century:
December 14, 2001, 22°56’ Sagittarius
December 4, 2002, 11°58’ Sagittarius
November 23, 2003, 1°14’ Sagittarius
October 14, 2004, 21°06’ Libra
October 3, 2005, 10°19’ Libra
September 22, 2006, 29°20’ Virgo
September 11, 2007, 18°25’ Virgo
August 1, 2008, 9°32’ Leo
July 22, 2009, 29°27’ Cancer
July 11, 2010, 19°24’ Cancer
June 1, 2011, 11°02’ Gemini
July 1, 2011, 9°12’ Cancer
May 20, 2012, 0°21’ Gemini
May 10, 2013, 19°31’ Taurus
April 29, 2014, 8°52’ Taurus
March 20, 2015, 29°27’ Pisces
March 9, 2016, 18°56’ Pisces
February 26, 2017, 8°12’ Pisces
February 15, 2018, 27°08’ Aquarius
January 6, 2019, 15°25’ Capricorn
December 26, 2019, 4°07’ Capricorn
December 14, 2020, 23°08’ Sagittarius
December 4, 2021, 12°22’ Sagittarius
October 25, 2022, 2°00’ Scorpio
October 14, 2023, 21°08’ Libra
Going down that list was a very uncomfortable trip down memory lane for me. When those South Node eclipses affected me, it was generally a harbinger of some difficult “external event” which I had little to no control over - which is not the same thing as saying “it wasn’t my fault.” I brought some of it on myself due to bad decisions. Some karma chickens coming home to roost, in other words. Not all of them were dire, though. One in particular gave me something of a respite from what had been happening in my life - it was conjunct my natal 12th House cusp.
Saros Series “7 South”
This eclipse is part of Saros Series “7 South.” Bernadette Brady writes,
The individual experiencing this series will find that huge obstacles will suddenly and easily clear or, on the negative side, a pending potential crisis will suddenly manifest and move through his or her life very rapidly. Either way the individual will feel that everything is moving at great speed. (The Eagle and the Lark)
Previous Saros “7 South” eclipses in Ms M’s lifetime:
September 11, 1969, 18°53’ Virgo
September 23, 1987, 29°34’ Virgo
October 3, 2005, 10°19’ Libra
Not quite as depressing for me personally.
Whatever Shall We Do?
1) Determine which of your natal houses this eclipse falls in.
2) Determine whether the eclipse makes an aspect to anything in your chart. Use a 1° orb. In my case, the conjunctions, squares, sesquiquads (135°), inconjuncts, and oppositions made the most obvious impacts.
3) If there is a close aspect to a planet, check to see which house(s) that planet rules. One South Node eclipse was conjunct the ruler of my natal 4th House, and I moved three months later.
4) Avoid strenuously negative thoughts. If you put a lot of energy into anticipating that something is going to be horrible and painful and disastrous, well, guess what - that’s exactly what’s going to happen. If you catch yourself falling into a panic, try to refocus the energy into “the best possible outcome.”

Austria’s far-right Freedom Party has won the country’s recent parliamentary elections, reigniting debates about the rise of right-wing populists across Europe. However, survey data and election results from various continental European countries show that left-wing radicals are also experiencing a significant surge. These data suggest that Europe is not merely shifting to the right, but undergoing a broader political polarization. The driving force behind this trend seems to be socio-economic issues, including a wave of inflation that has hit the middle class hard.
Austria's search for stability
The Freedom Party of Austria (FPÖ) won the country’s recent parliamentary elections, as was expected, securing 29.2% of the vote, according to preliminary data from the Austrian Ministry of the Interior. The party, which has made immigration its central campaign theme, is still waiting for the final count, as many Austrians vote by mail. This process has sparked controversy in the past, as late-arriving ballots have sometimes significantly altered election results — often to the detriment of the far-right. However, this time, the Freedom Party’s lead over the ruling center-right People’s Party (26.5%) is more than 2.5%, a margin that the remaining votes are unlikely to close.
Despite this clear victory, the Freedom Party has little chance of forming a government. All other parties, including the People’s Party — despite its previous coalition with the FPÖ — are currently refusing to cooperate with the winner. Additionally, President Alexander Van der Bellen, who has Russian roots, has made it clear that he will not nominate the FPÖ’s leader, Herbert Kickl, a pro-Russian hardliner, for the position of prime minister. It is more likely that a coalition of centrist parties, both left- and right-leaning, will take power, leaving the Freedom Party in the opposition — this despite a clear anti-immigration sentiment among Austrian voters.
At the same time, a new trend is emerging in Austria: rising demand for radical left-wing politics. For the first time in decades, the long-forgotten local Communist Party came close to passing the parliamentary threshold. It has focused on addressing real social issues, such as housing policy, and it is gaining traction in urban areas. In 2023, the party performed well in regional elections in Salzburg, achieved solid results in Vienna, and since 2021, the mayor of Graz has been a member of the Communist Party. This suggests that the Communists could strengthen their position even further in time for the next elections, especially if they start appealing to current far-right voters, as is happening in France and Germany.
France riding a left-wing wave
The approval rating of French President Emmanuel Macron has recently dropped to its lowest level of his seven years in office. According to a poll by Odoxa, only 25% of the French public are satisfied with his performance. Moreover, 59% believe that Macron’s newly appointed prime minister, Michel Barnier, will be a “poor” head of government.
In Austria, mainstream politicians are struggling to keep the far-right out of power. But in France, following the snap elections in June, Macron found himself up against the far-left. The New Popular Front, a coalition of diverse parties that includes the Socialists, took first place. Leading the coalition and securing the majority of the left-wing seats in parliament was Jean-Luc Mélenchon and his far-left party, La France Insoumise (“Unsubmissive France”).
Although Macron’s political maneuvering has thus far succeeded in keeping Mélenchon and his allies out of government, the French left is gaining momentum by focusing on social issues such as utility prices, pensions, food costs, and education. They are steadily reclaiming voters who had previously shifted to Marine Le Pen’s far-right National Rally.
Not long ago, the biggest concern for centrists in France was the potential victory of the far-right’s young new leader Jordan Bardella in the 2027 presidential elections. Now, however, the question of the day is which radical left-wing candidate will make a serious run for the presidency. Mélenchon performed quite well in the last presidential race, but it is likely that this time the candidate will be younger — and possibly even more radical.
German Greens losing ground to left-wing radicals
The political landscape in Germany and the Czech Republic also indicates a shift to the left. Almost simultaneously, the leaders of Germany’s Green Party and the Czech Pirate Party announced their resignations. In Germany, the Greens’ official reason for stepping down was their crushing defeat in the Sept. 22 regional elections in Brandenburg, where they secured only 4.1% of the vote, failing to enter the regional parliament (Landtag).
In reality, however, change at the top is likely due to the fact that the rating of the Alliance 90/The Greens, a la Macron's situation in France, has dropped to its lowest level in seven years, and is currently hovering around 9.5% nationwide. This puts them behind the newly established left-wing and pro-Russian Sahra Wagenknecht Alliance, which was formed just this year. In Brandenburg, Wagenknecht's party managed to capture 13.5% of the vote.
A similar scenario played out in the Czech Republic in the latter half of 2024. Following disappointing results in regional elections and senatorial by-elections, the Pirate Party's leadership stepped down. The Pirates, much like Germany’s Greens, had positioned themselves as champions of progressive environmental policies, marriage equality, LGBTQ rights, and stricter penalties for domestic violence.
At the same time, the popularity of local communists and their allies surged following the European Parliament elections. They have coalesced into the Stačilo bloc, led by the Czech equivalent of Wagenknecht — Kateřina Konečná. Like her German counterpart and Mélenchon, the Czech communist opposes active military support for Ukraine and favors a potential normalization of relations with Russia. However, her campaign remains focused on social issues, such as high levels of household debt and problems with utility bills, access to housing, and pensions.
Radicalization fueled by inflation
In both the Czech Republic and Germany, the next parliamentary elections are scheduled for 2025 — unless the current governing coalitions collapse before then, triggering snap elections. The newly emerging left-wing movements, which combine anti-immigration rhetoric with pro-Russian sentiments, appear to have a strong chance of success. It seems that radical leftists, who had largely vanished from the political landscape over the past two decades, are making a comeback in many European countries.
However, their platforms have shifted significantly, and in some cases, their stance on immigration sounds almost identical to that of the far-right. Support for such parties is growing among the European lower-middle class, which has been hit hard by economic and social upheavals over the past five years. Key factors include a sharp rise in utility costs following the breakdown of energy ties with Russia, record-high inflation for the EU, and increasing food prices. These issues were aggravated by the policies put in place in many EU countries to slow the spread of the COVID-19 virus, by global food price spikes caused by Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, by the recent conflict in the Middle East, and by ongoing climate disruptions.
In Germany, the number of family-owned businesses is noticeably shrinking, and bankruptcies are rising. In the Czech Republic, a similar pattern is emerging, with more bankruptcies being declared and fewer small businesses opening up. Politicians have been quick to exploit these vulnerabilities. As a result, by the 2025–2027 election cycle, the narrative may shift away from fears of a right-wing bump to a growing concern over a left-wing resurgence. This new leftward shift could prove more stable and enduring than the rightward shift did, as its root causes are unlikely to be resolved quickly — if EU countries can even address them at all in the foreseeable future.

Blog 4: Research
I will admit, research is not always easy or necessarily my favorite task to do. But researching topics that genuinely interest me is rewarding in so many ways. Most of the sources I have researched about mothers in graduate school overall explained the same helpful concepts and strategies. Being organized and prioritizing taking breaks are deemed to be the most important things to focus on when balancing being a stay-at-home mother and graduate student.
One interesting take I have read but have not thought about heavily was the major difference in completing classes on campus vs online. After my first child was born, I was going to in person classes and online classes. I always knew and preferred in person classes because I learned better with physical interactions but as I got older, had more children and responsibilities, online classes became my safe place. I do believe it saves me time, but I also now prefer to be able to work at my own pace with the set due dates given. Online classes forced me to be more disciplined in not only finishing assignments, but they taught me that if I do not find a balance between my personal life and my academic life, I would fail.
My research has been essential to my road of balancing being a mother and graduate student. I am excited to continue my research and to have the opportunity to rely on other mothers who are also trying to find the perfect balance. Below are a few articles I have gathered research from.

#BodyPositive on Tumblr: A Journey of Self-Expression and Self-Objectification
Social networking sites such as Tumblr have become indispensable places for self-expression in the current digital era, particularly for women attempting to resolve the intricacies of body image. Social media users are being encouraged to embrace their individuality by the #bodypositive movement, which has become a potent critique of conventional beauty standards.
The #bodypositive community encourages sharing personal narratives that highlight the process of achieving self-acceptance in addition to showcasing physical appearances. Selfies with motivational captions reflecting their achievements and challenges are frequently shared by women. People can identify with the rich image of experiences that are created when written and visual storytelling are combined. The study discovered that users candidly discussed the difficulties they had appreciating their bodies in most of their posts, which were primarily about self-acceptance.
However, research also emphasizes the dual nature of self-expression within the framework of the #bodypositivity movement, whose main objective is to inspire people to love their bodies and appreciate the diversity of beauty. Although members of the community frequently experience exhilaration and affirmation, there is also an underlying theme of "self-objectification", and the pressure to conform to social norms to win others' acceptance can result in an overreliance on outside standards. "Self-objectification" specifically describes the experience of a person believing that their value is determined by how other people see them, particularly about their looks. This has the potential to undercut the movement's core principles by making women believe that they must “perform” a particular ideal image to be accepted, as opposed to merely embracing and enjoying who they are. Thus, even if #bodypositivity can foster a positive environment, it's crucial to be mindful of any possible constraints it may place on one's ability to express oneself.
Women are encouraging others to embrace their uniqueness and challenge social standards by being true to who they are. The #bodypositive movement on sites like Tumblr reminds us that beauty is varied and nuanced as we continue to negotiate the challenges of self-expression in the digital age, embracing the strength that comes from community support and the power of authenticity.

A poll conducted in 2020 by the Skeptic Research Center asked a nationally representative sample of Americans the following question:
“If you had to guess, how many unarmed Black men were killed by police in 2019?”
The survey offered answer choices ranging from “about 10” to “more than 10,000.” Roughly 31 percent of survey respondents who identified as “very liberal” estimated that police had killed about 1,000 or more unarmed black men the previous year, with another 22 percent overall believing the number to be at least 10,000.
In summary, 53% of Americans who identified as “very liberal” believe police murder somewhere between 1000-10,000 unarmed black men a year.
What is the actual number? Twelve.
According to the Washington Post’s comprehensive database of police killings, police shot and killed 54 unarmed people in 2019, 26 were listed as white, 12 black, 11 Hispanic, and 5 “other.”
It’s also important to note that the majority of the twelve shot were actively trying to hurt or kill the officer. For example, in at least two of the twelve cases involving black men, the perpetrators were killed while trying to run over an officer with a car. In another, an individual took and used the officer’s taser on him. In another, a female officer was being physically beaten by a suspect when she fired. All those cases were classified as “unarmed.”
“Unarmed” never means “not deadly.” There is always a gun involved—the officer’s. In many encounters, the suspect is fighting to get ahold of it. In the Ferguson case, it was claimed that Michael Brown had his hands up when Officer Darren Wilson shot him, in cold blood, in the middle of the street. Upon investigation, the forensic evidence as well as a half-dozen black witnesses confirmed Officer Wilson’s account. Michael Brown tried to take Officer Wilson’s gun and was charging at him when shot. The “Hands up, don’t shoot!’ slogan was a lie.
When you set aside cases where the suspect was actively threatening an officer’s life with physical force, you are left with one or two cases a year. In 2019, officers involved in two shootings were found at fault and sentenced accordingly.
What is the net result of so many people being so misinformed?
After the George Floyd incident in June 2020, in cities across the country, regressive anti-policing policies were rushed in. In Chicago, this meant the department was down 1000 officers. New restrictions on the police were put in place that inhibited proactive/community policing, and several thousand violent offenders were put back on the street thanks to far left District Attorneys and activist judges. The net result was a 25 year high in murder for the city and hundreds more dead bodies, many of them young kids.
In 2021, more than 12 American cities saw record breaking levels of murder. Without evidence, ideologically-driven reporters parrot back to each other that this increase must be related to lockdowns. A closer look shows clearly that the constant attacks on law enforcement, budget cuts, and a climate of hatred fueled by that same irresponsible media have effectively halted proactive policing. Whenever that happens, violence skyrockets and thousands more needlessly die. The blood that covers media personalities, policy makers, and activists who’ve pushed the “defund the police” narrative will never wash off.
Because homicides within the black community occur at more than four times the national average, the people who will suffer most from these changes won’t be the upper-middle-class urban elites who foolishly push them through or the politicians and media personalities who have their own armed security. It will be poor, black Americans who live in the kinds of areas where 3-year-old Mekhi James was murdered, along with 197 other Chicago youth since 2020. It’s no wonder that black Americans consistently poll higher than whites in wanting increased police presence. The citizens in those high crime neighborhoods know better than anyone that cutting police funding doesn’t solve our violence problem—it increases it.
The narrative that police officers are looking to kill black Americans is a pernicious lie. Understanding this is the first step in making our cities safer for everyone.
==
If you care about black lives - and you should - you should care about accurate information and statistics, and telling the truth. Not about grand ideological fantasies narratives that get many more black people killed.
