Also the fact that he participated in things like Amy's birthday party or the cookbook at all, even if he largely kept to himself at the party and was rather curt in his recipe introductions. He had every opportunity to turn those down, they were ultimately frivolous endeavours. And yet he participated.

It's sweet. Shadow might not put a name to it and he doesn't often speak on it at all, but it's sweet nonetheless. Shadow having a support system and accepting love and light back into his life on levels he is comfortable with my beloved.
