I remembered a few days ago that I have a necklace with a small bell in it—high-pitched like a jingle bell, but softer in sound. Now when I run I make sparkling sounds. This is an incredible new development in the field of alterhuman gear.

To period blood anon: objectively, you can absolutely eat your own period blood. There's nothing inherently dangerous about it as your body is already getting rid of it and it's honestly just regular venous blood diluted with vaginal discharge and uterine tissue. If you want to maximize your Blood Collecting Abilities, learn how to use a silicone menstrual cup, as they don't absorb any blood and can be worn all day. There's a learning curve involved, but once you figure it out, it's not the worst thing in the world. A bit more uncomfortable than tampons to insert and remove imo, but that's me being opinionated. Different strokes for different folks.
Subjectively, people may view you eating your own menstrual blood as somewhat unhinged behavior, so proceed with caution.

well, nobody else has done this yet... so i will!
welcome to otherkinpolls, where i will post polls relating to otherkinity + similar identities/experiences. PLEASE feel free to submit polls
currently in queue: 8 currently in askbox: 0
submission guidelines/FAQ/etc. below
submission guidelines
-> submit polls through the ask box!
-> limit of 12 answers per poll. if there's space i will include a "see results" option, and if there's more space i will include an "other" option separate from the see results option by default. if you don't want these on a specific poll then let me know ⤷ in addition, there is a character limit on poll options. i will reword or combine/exclude options if necessary
-> if submitting a poll, please format it with the question being asked, the options you want included, and any additional info after that. please let me know if you want additional info included on the post or not; i will default to not including it
-> polls have to be related to non-human identities in some way, obviously. they can be directed to the community, to non-kin people about otherkinity, etc.
FAQ
Q: what do you define as "otherkin"? A: for the purposes of this blog, anything related to non-human identities. if you disagree with otherkin being a catchall term that's fine, but i have to call the blog something
Q: what topics are allowed? A: as said, any questions about otherkinity, non-humanity, et cetera are allowed. otherkin, therians, fictionkin, otherhearted, anything like that. the only thing i probably won't post is questions that are hateful, but negative questions and opinions i may decide to post on a case-by-case basis, if it's an interesting question
Q: how often do you post? A: as of now, the blog runs on a queue twice a day! until i run out of polls, or if i start getting a LOT of submissions, that probably won't change
Q: can i resubmit a poll if i want different/more answers than are on the original? A: sure, if it's worth it to resubmit. if the original is still going i might leave it for a while to space them out though
Q: can you tag x A: probably, yeah
Q: are you (blogrunner) otherkin? A: since day freaking one brother
Q: what are YOUR pronouns? A: he/she/it
Q: you write in british english! A: sorry

I AM A MINOR.
sorry this post is kind of an eyesore (i like pretty colors)

pronouns: he/him/it/it's/void/void's/star/starself's/ae/aer/holy/holyself/ halo/halos
DNI - therian/otherkin antis, fakeclaimers, people who call others like me "fakers", hardcore christians (hardcore religious people in general idc who you are), k!nk and nsfw blogs, proshippers (this isnt a fandom blog, but I would still like to keep unsavory types away). endogenic/mixed origin "systems" and anybody who supports them gguuuuhh ill update this more later
PLEEASE block me if this offends you
DESPITE THE DNI, I BLOCK FREELY!!! Directed towards anyone who doesnt fw this blog, or at least tolerate it.
Submissions and asks - submissions from anyone else who identifies as divine, nonhuman, winged, etc will go up- as long as they relate to this blog and would make sense for me to display.
I DO NOT POST GOFUNDMES scams are far too common on tumblr. because of this i wont be posting any fundraisers on this blog.
I also don't do tag games. this isnt my main, its purpose is to be a place where i post about my identity. do not tag me in tag games. this doesn't mean that i'm gonna be serious all the time, it just means that the intent of the blog is to home my godly-related thoughts.
Asks will be answered from those curious about my identity as a minor god (and otherheartedness in general, I've been in the community for 4-5 years and consider myself knowledgable enough to answer.)
Excited to get to know others in the otherhearted and divine community, thank you for reading this <3

Hello! I've recently learned that mobile app users can't access custom info pages, so I decided to pin the basics.
First of all, I'm Zira! Please use nonbinary pronouns, my favorite set is xe/xir but I'm also fond of xe/xem and ey/em. They/them is fine if you must. (Just don't use it/its, please.)
Secondly: This blog is a sideblog to @beyondthetemples. (It isn't listed in that blog's pinned post because I'm in the 'kin closet with most of my roleplaying buddies.) But that's me!
As for the purpose of this blog: It's to journal experiences I don't want the 800+ followers on my personal blog to see, and connect with others in the otherkin community.
~*~
Main kin experiences:
* Therian: raven (species uncertain) * Fictionkin: - Blue Diamond (Steven Universe) - Harrowhark Nonagesimus (The Locked Tomb) - Lilith Clawthorne (The Owl House) - Ryou Bakura (Yu-Gi-Oh! season 0, manga)
Hearthome: Azarath
Synpaths: Raven (Teen Titans DCAMU, 80's comics, '03 cartoon), Malachite (Steven Universe-- it's complicated)
~*~
I don't use a DNI, but I don't mind using the block button when it's warranted.
Custom links with more detailed information below the cut!
Nexus Roll-Call [x]
In-depth list of my kintypes, "Nexus" experiences (connections I have to other beings that aren't quite on the kin axis), and past lives that aren't kintypes.
About the Blog [x]
Information on who I'd like to interact with, as well as a brief list of tags this blog uses (currently under construction).
Abbreviations [x]
Mostly for my personal reference, this page lists my kinfeels tags on my main personal blog (@beyondthetemples-ooc).

Unhinged 30 Days of Otherkin (from this post)
1. what type of dirt would your kintype eat?
Hmmm. I think river clay. The color and texture (honestly either wet or dry) would be very tempting.
#unhinged 30 days of otherkin#alterhuman#otherkin#fairykin#faerykin#faekin#fairy#faery#fae#would normally say ‘tagging otherkin for community purposes’#but I’m starting to warm up to the term a bit

Note
As someone who has periods and has many canine kintypes as well as vampirekin, I've found myself tempted to eat my own blood. Is that bad for me, or could I technically do it?

Some Updates
I almost hesitate to make this post because I didn't have much of a presence to begin with, but in case anyone remembers me or is wondering why they're following this guy:
Hey. I'm the fictionkin formerly known as Maverick…kind of?
(warning: this is a very ramble-y blog post)
Backstory:
Let me lay down all the relevant history: I went by Maverick (he/they pronouns), which was essentially a nickname I slapped onto myself for the sake of differentiating myself from other Son/ics shortly after I awakened as him.
I also identified as So/ra (Ki/ngd/om He/arts) and Something Vaguely Resembling A First Level Nightmare/n, but my blog mostly focused on being Son/ic, I only mentioned being a Nightmare/n here and there, and I actively avoided talking about being So/ra for a variety of reasons.
I discovered the fictionkin community in ~early 2016, and made a blog in 2018 in hopes of actively participating in the community. (I was not very successful).
Why I stopped posting to this blog comes from multiple reasons, reasons which continued to evolve as I took some time away.
I considered the fictionkin community my "main" community, but it felt like it was beyond repair and I struggled to relate to any post in the tags
I was horribly anxious and couldn't break out of my shell
I went through a phase of identifying strongly as nonhuman, but in light of the fictionkin community diminishing, nonhuman talk began to felt suffocating--feelings which began when:
My Son/ic kintype up and vanished. One moment I was Son/ic and then the next I wasn't.
I'd like to elaborate on that last point more, because I feel like it would be very insightful and potentially helpful to others, but here's the short of it: I awakened as Son/ic in April of 2018, then he kind of died off at the end of March in 2021.
And, you know…Son/ic was practically the face of the blog, so that was incredibly awkward and I had no idea how to even begin to address that, especially because kintypes traditionally don't just spontaneously vanish into thin air. I just waited for him to come back. And he didn't.
Well, he did, actually, two years later... He just wasn't me. He was also never me to begin with.
So who am I?
I'm So/ra. I'm a Nightmare/n at my core. I'm not Son/ic.
Son/ic identifies a lot with nonhumanity and being otherkin. I do not! I am nonhuman, but I'm also very much human. He was also responsible for a lot of the agnostic feelings "I" had about the origins of my kintypes; I've found myself much more adamant about my spirituality since we've separated ourselves (whereas he's remained more "I think it's spiritual but who really knows").
Pronoun Update
I don't use they/them anymore.
I've had beef with they/them pronouns for a while. I mean, "beef" is a bit dramatic. But I found myself wanting a very unique set of pronouns that were very gender neutral and something about they/them/their has come to be…weirdly gendered to me? Which wasn't very satisfying to me.
Enter "ve". Proposed singular gender neutral pronouns for the purpose of referring to individuals of undetermined gender. But also, I once upon a time tried to workshop Dream Language pronouns, and got stuck on them starting with a "v" sound, so that was frankly just perfect.
(Pen) Name Update
Regarding "Maverick": I never identified very strongly with the name and only used it for convenience. When Son/ic disappeared, I had less reason to identify with it. He doesn't identify with it either--in fact, he calls me Mav out of habit.
As for what to call me instead (besides just So/ra)…I've been workshopping a pen name idea.
I don't remember what my name as a Nightmare/n was, but I speculated for a while that the reason I was drawn to the "v" sound was because my name started with a V. So I thought, hey, I don't know if it's really my name, but how I use it like a nickname. Something that starts with a V, something nature-y.
Vernala. From vernal (relating to Spring), and an -a at the end because it sounds cool.
So I was thinking of combining the two in some way. Like So/ra né Vernala. I think it looks nice, and it's totally unique (0 results on Google!). Very identifiable, right?
URL Update
Also, I forgot to mention:
This blog's URL used to be @/chaossed. I've passed it on to Son/ic because it is a nice URL, but it's very specific to him. Hence, my current URL is unchaossed.
I'm not sticking with "unchaossed" forever, that's just a placeholder until I can decide on a better URL.
I think that's about it. I let myself ramble because I want to treat this blog like an actual blog and not just a platform to post reblog bait, but uhhh maybe this would benefit from a concise summary.
TL;DR:
I am So/ra and a Nightmare/n. Son/ic turned out to be a whole other guy.
I no longer go by Maverick, and I'm experimenting with new pen names.
My pronouns are he/him/his and ve/ver/vis.
P.S., Son/ic doesn't front very often (and also tumblr pushing a shitty update immediately after his blog was made killed most of his desire to use it), so keep that in mind if you decide to check out his blog.
#i forgot what a chore censoring names is. ew.#my posts#about me#fictionkin#this is probably not as coherent as i think it is but that's fine

One example of how KFF hurts actual 'kin: I ran a Discord server back in the day for fictionkin with kintypes from the game Yandere Simulator. At our height, there were 32 people. All of them except for three have, in the past five years, dropped their YS kintype. They've picked new kintypes, grown out of RP/KFF, admitted they were lying about memories, etc. The three of us who are actual fictionkin have been harassed, called crazy, sent death/rape threats, etc. by our old 'friends' constantly.
Yikes. I am so sorry to hear about that - and even sorrier that it’s not the first time I’ve heard a very similar story.
#otherkin#fictionkin#kinning#kinnie#death mention#rape mention#kin for fun#and that's the damage lying about your experiences so you can misuse a community's words can have folks#because when you realize other people WEREN'T lying suddenly they're the ''crazy'' ones#wow it's almost like we created these words to actually serve the purpose we tell you they were meant to serve#it's almost like it's not a game to us like it is to you. like we've been TELLING YOU it's not.#phenomenal. who could have imagined. /s#rani talks#asked and answered#ask to tag

Hey, thanks for hearing us out! I know how rough it can be to put a lot of love into a project and then immediately get a bunch of people Um Ackshually-ing in your inbox about it, even (sometimes especially) if the Um Ackshuallys are fair, lmao.
I do think trying to include both actual otherkin (again, ie people who genuinely identify as nonhuman/fictional) and people who use "kinning" to mean "relating to", roleplay, faceclaims, etc. in the same survey without skewing it one way or another is probably gonna be tough, but if that's your goal then more power to you. As long as you're presenting both groups accurately, acknowledging the history of the term and the community, etc., that's the most important thing to me. (Might be a good idea to have a question early on about how someone defines "kin", and then have separate pages of questions tailored to each group that they can be directed to? But that's just my thought.)
If you'd like suggestions on what kind of questions to ask/how to ask them, I'm happy to toss a few out there; I also have a bunch of resources here and even more over on my main 'kin blog a-dragons-journal (I've got a "kin resources" tag, and my tagging system is pretty thorough, so if you're looking for information on something specific and can't figure out what tag I use for it yourself, don't hesitate to send in an ask or DM me and I can probably point you in the right direction) for research purposes!
Hello Kinnies
I plan to make a video essay on the Kinning Community, and I was interested in gathering data about modern Kinning and the state of the community. So it would help me out greatly if anyone who is/was apart of the community filled out this form!

Cringepunk
Cringepunk - A movement involving the reclaimation of the word "cringe" and basically being "cringe" just out of pure spite, and embracing being cringeworthy and basically not giving a fuck about what others think. Basically a way of saying "Fuck you. I'm cringe and I'm proud of it. I don't need to be your definition of "normal". This was made with neurodivergent individuals, MOGAI/LIOM/LGBTQ+ individuals (including folks who use xenogenders), neopronoun/nounself pronoun/emojiself pronoun users and alterhumans in mind. However, you don't have to be any of those things to be Cringepunk! While this term is meant to be anti-cringe culture and anti-harassment, we still want to make it clear that it does not support harmful identities and communities. Likewise, it will not tolerate exclusionism of harmless identities or misinformation. In particular, Cringepunk is: Pro-Contradictory Labels. Pro-Endogenic. Pro-MOGAI. Pro-Self Diagnosis with research. Pro-Alterhumanity. Pro-KFF. Inclusive of people of all disabilities, including people with personality disorders, schizophrenia and DID. Inclusive of all religions. Inclusive of POC. Anti-Radfem. Anti-Fakeclaiming. Anti-TransID. Anti-Discourse of any kind. Anti-Fetishization of Pedophilia or Incest. Anti-thinspo and anti-fatphobia. Basically, Cringepunk supports expressing yourself in harmless ways, but is against anything that could genuinely harm others. Flag meanings: Dark Blue - Alterhumanity. This stripe represents alterhumans, especially otherkin. Light Blue - Plurality. This stripe represents systems of ALL origins, including endogenic. Green - Queerness. This refers to the entire LGBTQ+/MOGAI community, including mspec lesbians/gays, intersex individuals, non-monogamous individuals, aspec individuals, individuals who use xenogenders and many more. Light green - Gender non-conformity and pronoun non-conformity. This refers to individuals who present differently then their given gender. In addition, this also refers to individuals who use pronouns that differ from their given gender, including neopronoun users, nounself pronoun users and emojiself pronoun users, as well as he/him lesbians, she/her gays and they/them and neopronoun gays and lesbians. Gray represents being cringe and proud /pos. Yellow represents aldernic individuals. Orange represents those currently questioning their sexuality, gender, or if they're alterhuman, plural or neurodivergent. Light red represents neurodivergency. This one I find incredibly important, as cringe culture has harmed several neurodivergent folks (especially autistics). Dark red represents community, which includes MOGAI individuals, neopronoun users, aldernic individuals, alterhumans, systems, and anyone else who might be considered "cringe (such as furries). The symbol represents challenging cringe culture and tearing it down. Image IDs: Two pride flags. Both have shades of blue and green, yellow, orange and shades of red. The middle of both flags are dark gray. The top flag has an infinity symbol interlocking with a circle. (Tags are for reach and filtering purposes)
Image ID: A blue banner with red, orange and yellow flowers around it. On it is a warning sign with text underneath. The text reads "PLEASE READ PINNED POST BEFORE INTERACTING"

About this blog
This is my new approach to how I use this blog. I just set up a queue of posts here. One a day, for the next few months. Most of those posts are about alterhuman communities. (That umbrella term means the communities of otherkin, therianthropes, plurals, some furries, and some other sorts of people who have different approaches to being human.) When I reblog or post them, I’m not saying that I personally agree with everything in them. More often, my reason for posting them is to highlight the diversity of viewpoints in our communities. We have many different viewpoints than one another about a lot of things, and that’s good.
I’m interspersing those posts with ones that are not about alterhumans, but which would be useful to the alterhuman communities. Some common examples of these: how to think critically about what you see on social media and how you use it; community safety, and how to watch out for warning signs; and tools and inspiration for writing your essays and journals. I try to alternate these with posts about alterhumans. Generally, the purpose of this blog and everything in it is meant to be useful for the alterhuman communities.
For everything I post, I want it to be usable and safe for everybody, so I do these things. I’ll always include image descriptions for screen-reader accessibility. I use tags that should be effective content warnings. I’ll post some educational community safety resources that could be considered PG-13, but never anything above that rating. I'll avoid posting anything with the really bad sorts of flickering, blinking, or strobing lights at all. If I’m not sure, I’ll tag with content warnings. I take a look at each account I reblog from to make sure the users aren’t transphobic or otherwise problematic, as best as I can tell. Please send me a private message to tell me if I mess up with any of those, or if I reblog or quote somebody problematic, because I probably didn’t realize and would like to know. My ask box is open and accepting anons.

Right so... #WolfGetsReal, huh?
I mean, none of this has really sat well to me. I'm not a therianthrope myself, but theriomythic arguably applies to me, and I am more animalistic than I let on. Species dysphoria is the one thing that affects me directly, and very little of it is social: without physical transition, which is scientifically impossible, there is no treatment nor cure for the symptoms I have.
I haven't watched Wolf (2021), owing largely to my general disinterest in movies. It's rare I do watch films, and I'm certainly not going to waste two hours of my time watching a movie I'm guaranteed not to like. Everything I've heard about it so far says that it sucks, it's a shitty B-list movie, and has pretty well no artistic value.
Alt+H decided to call a community initiative to drown the movie's tags talking about actual species dysphoria, owing to an interview with the director where she admitted she went out of her way not to do any research.
Now, I'm not defending the director here, because that's a stupid move in general. But I am gonna come outright and say that I don't think this community initiative is a good idea. Actually, let me make that slightly plainer: I think it's a stupid, ill-thought-out idea at best, and an actively dangerous one at worst.
This is a B-list movie, with zero famous actors, that very few people are going to watch. Of those few people, most if not all of them are going to either a) think it's a werewolf movie spliced with an ableist mental facility movie, or b) think it's a bad allegory for queer struggles.
Literally nobody but us is going to go "hm let's be ableist towards the delusional with ~species dysphoria~ :)" because we're not in the spotlight outside of when we're brought up linked to transphobia. We are very occasionally that weird guy in an internet story you heard about once, and that's only if you're on the internet a lot.
Now, I know where this idea came from: back earlier this year when Grimes put 'otherkin' in her twitter bio and changed her birthdate to that of a nuclear bomb, the otherkin community flooded the twitter tags with introductions and 101s and threads on how cool the community is. It worked quite well, I think, and it's clear this is more of that.
We were forced into the spotlight, so we forced the spotlight to be about us, and not the misinformation. Grimes has a depressingly large following, we didn't have a choice.
This... isn't that. The only reason anyone would watch this movie is if they're bored of Sundance films. Hells, it's even released right around two very anticipated Spiderman trailers. It's a movie destined to be overlooked, a box office flop, and forgotten.
So tell me: if we don't actually have a spotlight, why the hell are we making one? In the twitter tag of #WolfGetsReal, I've seen not one but two bestialist / animal abusers trying to overtake the narrative and link therianthropy to bestiality. Right now, the therianthrope community is having a nightmare time trying to kick them out.
You're telling me we should go viral with zero cohesiveness, focusing on therianthropy, and give them the chance to irreparably link therianthropy to bestiality? Because of a shitty B-list movie that otherwise would fade into obscurity?
No. No, this is a bad idea. If we want to go viral, this is a terrible way to do it. Don't get me wrong here, talking about species dysphoria and writing up posts and essays and 101s is great. But doing it specifically to go viral, when we have some major predators already frothing at the mouth to steal the mic for their malicious and substantially evil purposes?
It's ill-thought-out at best, and I cannot approve. There's literally no upside to this. The director wouldn't listen to us at best (if that were possible, it would have been done already), we do not have any power we can actually use, any spotlight we make right now on this issue will be immediately hijacked (and we have currently zero plan to mitigate that major issue), and making a spotlight of us being made fun of isn't something we can turn around.
There's no upside to doing this. If we want to talk about species dysphoria, let's focus on that, not bring emphasis to a movie that should fade forgotten into obscurity.
I know Alt+H also noted that between this and Wild Mountain Thyme, it seems the beginning of a trend. But WMT was taken almost universally by people who aren't us as a metaphor, and had a total of zero impact on the community. If we let this pass us by the same way, it will also have zero impact. And right now, I'll take no attention over almost-guaranteed-to-be-bad attention.
So that's my thoughts on that.
