Usopp never expects anyone to like him back, so it's always a very welcome surprise when figuring out that you like him too. Good luck getting him to ask you out first, he's incredibly shy.

Very insecure. He doesn't need his ego boosted 24/7, especially post-time skip, but he will definitely have days where he believes you could do better. Small reassurances go a long way with him.

He's a man of many skills, a jack of all trades. Though he's a master at none (as far as he'll tell you,) he loves spreading his "Divine knowledge." He has many tips on working out, gardening/plant care, sniping with all kinds of ranged weaponry, inventing, as well as tons of tricks to bluffing.

He's ecstatic to share these skills with you. He's not asking you to spend ALL of his time on it, no, but he definitely likes when you're interested.

He's very silly, in regards to the actual lovey stuff. His main goal is to make you smile, so no matter how intense and love-charged the moment becomes, he will find a way to crack some kind of joke.

He's not the greatest about serious conversation. He tends to steer away from topics that are too heavy, unless they NEED to be addressed.

Will absolutely build something for you if you ask. Even if you didn't ask, he will.

Really great with kids. Will rally a small gang of rapscallions to tackle you.

Finally, Usopp's love languages are very creative, relying on gifts and quality time. He's also no stranger to physical touch. He enjoys the little things about you, and will even go as corny as writing small poems about you in his spare time.

TLDR: Usopp wants to make every moment he has with you count, for as long as you still like him. He's many, many things, but one thing he refuses to be is a shitty boyfriend.

Yasopp could be one of the reasons for increased attention on Usopp's spotlight (tl;dr)

I know I keep bringing up Yasopp, and it may seem redundant, but I want to emphasize that there’s no reason we shouldn’t get at least some answers about him. One of the most important questions is: Does Yasopp know Banchina is dead?

This is a game-changing question because it would reveal whether Yasopp was keeping tabs on Usopp, how much he knows about his son’s journey, and whether he was aware of Banchina’s illness. Why did he leave, knowing she was sick—despite her encouragement for him to follow his dream? Was there something dangerous about his presence in Syrup Village? Was he forced out, with Shanks as his only option? Because if he was simply hanging around in a nearby island/village but never reaching out to his sick wife and child, that paints a much different picture of his character. And we don’t have enough information to confidently say Yasopp is a bad person. But answering whether he knows about Banchina’s death would provide key context.

Another major question: How and why did Shanks seek out Yasopp?

In Strong World Episode 0, it’s mentioned that Yasopp was already well-known for his sniping skills, which means Shanks deliberately recruited him. But why? Was it purely because of Yasopp’s skill, or was there more behind it? Did Shanks help him escape something in Syrup Village? Did Yasopp have a past that made him an ideal crew member? Understanding this would not only shed light on Yasopp’s decision to leave his family but also reveal more about Shanks’ mindset when forming his crew.

And that ties into more significant questions:

- When did Yasopp develop Observation Haki? We know when Usopp awakened his, but did Yasopp always have it?

- Why did Yasopp want to become a "brave warrior of the sea"? Did he have a background similar to Usopp’s, or was it something else?

- Why was Banchina so determined for Yasopp to chase his dream, even at the cost of leaving his family? She was a good woman, so something significant must have happened for her to support his decision.

- Why is Yasopp so loyal to Shanks? This could explain why he was willing to leave his wife and son behind in the first place.

A crucial emotional question is: Why is Yasopp afraid to meet Usopp?

In his filler encounter with Daddy Masterson, Yasopp seems convinced that Usopp would hate him. That suggests guilt—but guilt for what exactly? Just for leaving, or for something more? Understanding this would clarify why Yasopp never tried to reconnect with his son.

When did Yasopp find out Usopp was on Luffy’s crew?

It’s likely he learned after Usopp’s bounty became public, as we see in Dressrosa when he’s holding a newspaper and laughing. But did he know before that? Did he recognize Sniper King?

And then there’s Usopp’s perspective on Yasopp—which is strange because Usopp almost never mentions his father. After the Syrup Village arc and a few minor moments (like the deleted Water 7 scene with Garp), Yasopp’s existence barely comes up, even from Luffy.

- Does Usopp secretly resent Yasopp? Not necessarily in an “I hate you for leaving” way, but perhaps in a “I’ll never measure up to you” way.

- Does Usopp realize he has Observation Haki? Given his personality, he might not even fully grasp it, despite using it at Dressrosa.

Back to Yasopp:

- Does he know Banchina was sick? If not, why didn’t he check in? If he did, what was so dire that he still chose to leave?

- Did he leave to protect Syrup Village? Was his presence a threat to Banchina and Usopp? Did he sacrifice his reputation for their safety?

Lastly, a fun but potentially meaningful question: Does Sniper Island actually exist?

While it might never be confirmed, it could tie into why snipers are so crucial in pirate crews. Three out of four Yonkos have snipers—why? Is there an underground sniper network? Why was Usopp hesitant to take on the role?

So, the big question is: Which of these revelations would truly change the game and redefine Yasopp’s character?

One Piece Film: Sniper Island

Now I’m spiraling into a full-blown daydream (and maybe it’s because I’m re-reading Usopp’s arc), but hear me out—a standalone movie for Usopp. Imagine if it were titled One Piece Film: Sniper Island. It could dive into Usopp’s legacy while also giving us the Sniper King nostalgia we all secretly crave. I genuinely feel like there’s a trade-off happening in canon—if Oda delves deeper into Usopp and Yasopp’s stories, we might lose out on callbacks to Usopp’s Sniper King persona. Let’s face it: Sniper Island might forever remain the metaphorical place “in your heart.” So why not consolidate everything into a semi-canon movie?

Here’s how it could go:

The opening scene kicks off with a fresh, revamped version of the Sniper King theme song—complete with a killer intro sequence that either reimagines Sniper King as a legendary figure (a vigilante of sorts) or gives us a nostalgic recreation of his iconic Water 7 debut. Then the screen cuts to a mysterious setting. Shanks or Benn Beckman walks into a darkened room. We hear sobbing in the background, but the camera isn’t on the source yet. Calmly, one of them says, “Chaser, you can come out now.” Suddenly, the camera pans to Yasopp, trembling yet victorious, embracing his captain in relief. Around him are defeated adversaries, henchmen laid out like dominoes. Yasopp, having fought tooth and nail, reveals just how formidable he is when he taps into Observation Haki in ways we’ve never seen before.

From there, the story transitions to the Straw Hats. They’re sailing as usual, and Usopp is entertaining the crew with one of his grand tales—Sniper Island, of course. Luffy and Chopper are eating it up, Brook strums a few chords of the theme song, and Robin quietly chuckles. Franky and Sanji exchange knowing looks, while Nami rolls her eyes, telling them to stop indulging him. Jinbe looks on, completely baffled. Meanwhile, Zoro is either asleep or smirking faintly. The camaraderie sets the tone, but little does Usopp know trouble is brewing.

The crew soon encounters enemies who are after Usopp specifically. Whether it starts with a ship battle or unfolds at a lively carnival where Usopp shows off his sharpshooting skills, he ends up kidnapped. The adversaries drag him to the elusive Sniper Island. Cue the crew embarking on a rescue mission, with Luffy absolutely livid. Usopp, meanwhile, is confronted by the false king of Sniper Island—a cruel and arrogant sniper who mocks him, dons the Sniper King mask, and disparages Yasopp’s reputation. Usopp’s fury boils over, flashing back to moments like when he punched Kuro during the Syrup Village arc.

This movie could showcase Usopp reconciling with both his father’s legacy and his own. We’d get scenes where Usopp reflects on the role Sniper King played for him during Enies Lobby and Thriller Bark, giving depth to why he created that persona in the first place. The false king could narrate his rise to power, maybe even referencing other legendary snipers like Van Augur or elite Marine marksmen, creating a sniper-centric worldbuilding element. The island could be a secret haven for snipers, their own version of Laugh Tale, shrouded in mystery.

In the final battle, Usopp would use his Observation Haki in brilliant and innovative ways, proving his growth as a sniper and a warrior. The Straw Hats arrive just in time for backup, but Usopp is the one to land the decisive blow. In the aftermath, the island’s people declare him the true Sniper King and prepare a grand ceremony in his honor. However, in classic Usopp fashion, he humbly steps aside, passing the title to a young admirer who sees him as an inspiration. Luffy beams with pride, knowing Usopp will always choose his crew over any crown.

To tie it all together, there could be a flashback from Luffy where Yasopp would regale him with stories about Usopp. These tales could serve as a crucial clue that helps the crew find him on Sniper Island. The movie would be heartfelt, action-packed, and full of callbacks to Usopp’s journey, giving fans everything they love about him—from his insecurities and resilience to his knack for storytelling and his incredible sniping skills.

It��s a total fangirl fever dream, I know, but wouldn’t it be amazing to see Usopp face off against the best snipers of the One Piece world while grappling with his father’s legacy and his own growth? And come on—imagine the hype if the movie ends with a lingering question: was it all real, or was Sniper Island truly only in your heart?
