Some "new" Spaceverse sketches--I drew these back in July and scanned them, but forgot to upload them. So I cleaned these up to archive here, we have my angelo character Damien and his spirit dog Floyd, then Lady Sylvie Gale of Faer, and finally Tuya Batbayar of Warlon.

I'll update this post if I do some more sketches soon and/or color some of these.

EDIT: Updated with some more recent sketches of the newer dragon characters, Ujin (my friend Sakume's acid dragon shifter), and Rohanne, my fire dragon shifter and Aedus' younger sister. I’m excited to figure out their palettes and see these new characters in color. :3

Getting to okay

A lot of people on here seem confused by Sylvie's motivations, and why she's upset with Loki, so let's recap.

Loki's character arc in Season 1 is pretty clear. He started out wanting a throne--to rule over Asgard, then Earth, and finally the Sacred Timeline. Meeting Sylvie upends all that, and for the first time he finds he's less interested in grabbing power than making sure someone else is okay. After meeting He Who Remains, Loki believes all of reality is in great danger (which would make Sylvie not okay) so he's prepared to make hard choices to confront that threat. Instead of chasing the glory of taking the throne, he's accepting the duty of protecting the realm.

Sylvie's character arc in Season 1 is less direct, seen mainly from Loki's point of view. She's introduced to raise the question "Is our version of Loki the superior Loki?" Sylvie outwits Loki a few times, but her backstory and even her name emphasize that she's not a Loki, and this isn't the horn-measuring contest we expected. She's clearly touched when Loki declares "all I want is for you to be okay." But her response addresses the original question--Sylvie is not Loki. All she wants is to be rid of the TVA, even if that means she will not "be okay."

With all this in mind, the conflict between Loki and Sylvie in Season 2 makes sense. Loki is gradually taking on more leadership in the TVA, because he doesn't know any other way to avoid the apocalyptic time war that He Who Remains warned of. But Sylvie's never known anything except apocalypse and time war, thanks to Loki's TVA buddies. For her, anything better than "eating a possum's face" or "being in ᴛɪᴍᴇ ᴘʀɪsᴏɴ" is a step up. So of course she's happy working at McDonald's. Of course she hates seeing Loki becoming more and more like He Who Remains, whether he realizes it or not. Of course it won't impress her that Loki is trying to clean up the "mess" she made, or that he's doing it for her sake.

It's easy to take Loki's side in this conflict, because he's doing what we expect the protagonist in a superhero story to do. We know Sylvie can't simply run away from this crisis, and we know Loki probably won't turn into the kind of evil time lord he's trying to stop. But it's simplistic to decide Loki is right and therefore Sylvie's position can be dismissed. She still has a point, and Loki needs to hear her out. It's the only way he can avoid making the mistakes He Who Remains made. And it's the only way he can help her be okay, which (as previously established) is all he really wants.

This is a little oneshot— that’s going to ACTUALLY stay a oneshot this time, I swear!— where the tadfool gang comes across a child in distress in the woods. They (Astarion, really) end up saving the child, and the little thing cottons onto their saviour immediately. Astarion scares them off and they get the child to safety, but it kicks up all sorts of feelings— Astarion’s feelings about children, his guilt over the for children, the stealing of his own (elf age) youth, and the loss of whoever he was before he was turned…

Here’s a snippet:

He was niave enough, then, to believe they could put the whole incident behind them. The child was taken to a pool to bathe away the troll blood, and Gale cast a hasty cantrip over her reddened little clothes. Her older sibling was meant to meet her in a village due east, and thank the gods they managed to track them down before Karlach or Halsin or one of their other, more do-gooder companions decided to embrace another parasite to care for. Astarion could only roll his eyes.

It didn’t matter. They saved the wretched little thing, found their sibling, left them to lead a long life far from their band of tadpole-brained carnival freaks— hopefully. As long as the stupid girl didn’t go wandering into anymore trolls.

The deed was done. It didn’t matter. At least, it shouldn’t matter. Astarion had entirely forgotten about the girl by the time they all gathered round the campfire that evening.

Unfortunately, he seemed to be the only one.

“Hope Sylvie and Bea found a safe route home— wherever home is.” Wyll stirred his stew listlessly, gazing into the embers of the fire. It was all terribly gallant.

Karlach nodded heartily around her mouthful. “I hope she doesn’t have too many nightmares tonight.”

“Of the trolls or of Astarion?” Shadowheart scoffs, turning to him. “After all those backflips trying to keep us from finding out your sanguine little secret, you pull it out as a bedtime story?”

“There’s plenty worse where that came from.” He shrugged. “I can give you as many bedtime stories as you please, Darling.”

She rolls her eyes. “We have our own nightmares to contend with, thank you.”

Halsin is still looking at him. He’s scarcely stopped, and it’s rankling up under the vampire's skin.

“What, Druid?” He finally snaps.

Some Adjustments have been made to the Bodie Sprite by my friend Froggy and I’ll take this time to discuss Bodie’s power set and Fighting Style more indepth (This is him at a level of Mid Orbit slight lower or equivalent to Lorelai in stat total)

Bodie’s Epithet: Tropical gives him a slew of abilities that he’s been able to develop and grow over the years, with three primary abilities and a few other key ones

Wind Manipulation- Bodie’s go to ability with everything from strike enhancements by adding a sharp gale current to his punches all the way to flying. Bodie will occasionally mix in wind based projectiles, as a way to pin someone in place or just as a big gust to hit someone with concussive force, however its usefulness in making his strikes land that much harder is the main reason he uses this as often as he does. Some special named moves Bodie uses under this ability are Zephyr Enziguri, A wind enhanced kick to the head of the poor sap, and Rolling Thunder, Punching the air to send out giant flying gusts of wind at an opponent.

Water Manipulation- “Screw You, Strong Water” Definitely the ability Bodie has put the most creative stock into, Bodie generates mass amounts of seawater to be used in a variety of different ways. Some common applications are as a defensive barrier, large violent streams and crashing projectiles, and as a battlefield adjustment with enough water that it becomes a detriment to the enemy. If the Wind is what Bodie uses in all his strikes, Water is what he uses in the in between, applying pressure, keeping up defense, getting shots in at a range, or sending out one final big jet stream of saltwater to finish off the bad guy, whatever his hands, feet, or mouth can do while available. Some notable attacks here include Whitewater Jetstream, a large powerful blast of water from his mouth Scuttle Shield Ball, where Bodie surrounds himself in a bubble of water to defend himself from incoming attacks, and Final Tsunami, where Bodie throws as much water as he can make in one direction in a last ditch effort.

Sand Manipulation- The most low key of Bodie’s main manipulations, Bodie uses his sand for most slashing attacks but more as a tool to put the opponent on the back foot, changing up terrain or making it hard to see. Some notable uses are the classic Pocket Sand right in the eyes and the Giant Sand Viper Bodie produces as a defensive tool.

Some of Bodie’s secondary abilities

Tropical Plant Manipulation- A swarm of palm trees and other plants that keep the enemy on the back-foot and give terrain advantage to the highly mobile Bodie

Heat Generation-Bodie’s ability naturally causes him to exude more Bodie heat than the average person, so living in Taiga Country doesn’t really bother him regardless of what he’s wearing

Buff Drinks- Bodie can produce some fruity beverages to help in a pinch, like a Piña Colada that can buff his damage

The Other Two Major Abilities are Bodie’s ultimate Moves

Hurricane Bodie- Simply Bodie creates a miniature cyclone at Hurricane force wind speed to manipulate and use against his opponent in various ways, including just throwing the whole thing at the enemy.

Sweeping Horizon: Dawn Bound Lū’au- Bodie does a hand-sign and surrounds himself and his target with a forest of Tropical Plants, anyone fully enveloped being transported to a Tropical Beach set up for a celebration, in this pocket world Bodie’s abilities are enhanced and the environment is naturally saturated with the things he manipulates, cutting the stamina cost heavily. The area also gives Bodie access to special abilities only accessible within the Sweeping Horizon, such as manipulation of various beach like structures and the summoning of mystic sea creatures to assist him in battle.

Bodie’s fighting heavily relies on his creative uses for his abilities as well as comboing with his natural hand to hand fighting abilities he trained under his grandfather for, not relying on either exclusively(compare to a Sylvie or a Howie for both sides of the extreme) and putting his opponent off-balance for the opening.
