He's been thinking... Again?! It's been a while! I've really appreciated all the love while I've been away too. I love going through the additional tags and comments ;-; it's very cosy. My boyfriend saw me drawing this and was like 'here we go again' (in a supportive, loving way).

Just a reminder.....Skynet became self aware this morning.

idk to put it this into words but like. Alistair is very aware of how he was treated, right. him saying he was raised by dogs and left to sleep in the kennels and that the chantry mother/sister (i dont remember) beat him. he mentions all of this, but its all in a joking, dont take me too seriously tone. and it makes me think how like. he cant fully acknowledge these things without this veneer of sarcams/jokes bc i think acknowledging and adressing them as what they truly were (abuse and neglect) also means breaking some illusions to things were fine. alistair holds eamon in very high regard, but if he acknowledges this, it means having to confront that what eamon did to him was wrong, that he is not this great man alistair likes to think that he is. and the thing is, im sure that if it was anyone else telling alistair they went through all that. he'd be sympathetic towards them right. but its like he cant extend that to himself bc with the way he talks at times, its almost like he sees all that as smthg he "deserved it". like i keep thinking about how when he tells the story of his mother's amulet, he says that after his discussion with eamon, eamon never came to visit him again in the monastery and he's all. yeah that's what i get for acting the way i did when like, he was a fucking child and eamon was an adult.

and its so complicated bc we can never fully adress this and i think its bc alistair himself is not ready to fully adress this in game but i keep thinking what would happen on the day that he like. comes to term with this, that he was literally just a kid and that everyone around him failed him and that he did not deserve all that.
