charles + person A's brain short circuiting at how good person B looks

charles adrenaline was still pumping even hours after crossing the finish line at the monaco grand prix. it still didn’t feel real to him that after so many years he had finally won his home race. the whole weekend had been surreal and he had wondered many times if this was all just one big dream and as he buttoned the cuffs of his dress shirt he pinched himself for good measure.

nope. definitely not dreaming.

there hadn’t been a moment for him to take a break today and really process his emotions. after the race it was press duties and then a small celebration with the team that may have involved jumping into the marina. then fast forward to his current task- which was getting ready for the gala dinner.

you had been back at the apartment getting ready for awhile. it was a big event and you’d be eating dinner with the prince and princess which meant hours would be spent making sure you looked your best.

you sang along to the music playing from your phone as you put the finishing touches on your makeup, not even hearing charles enter the bedroom until he spoke up.

“chérie you almost ready?”

your eyes flickered to his reflection of him standing behind you in the mirror. big smiles on both of your faces as you made eye contact.

“yes. i just need help zipping up my dress”

in an instant you were out of your robe and pulling the satin dress up over your figure. goosebumps forming at the feeling of charles fingers brushing over your skin and when he pulled your hair to the side to zip up your dress it caused a shiver to run down your spine. it was embarrassing how much of an effect this man had on you.

he placed a chaste kiss on your shoulder before letting your hair cascade down your back once more. and after slipping on your heels and grabbing your clutch you did a little spin for charles, showing off the final look. “how do i look charlie?”

charles had never been at a loss for words before. his brain was short circuiting and the line from his brain to his mouth had been severed. you looked so beautiful, so radiant, so perfect, like an ethereal being- but he was too stunned too speak. how he had managed to have someone like you by his side he wasn’t sure, but he thanked the gods everyday for you. he didn’t realize he was stood there like a dumbfounded fool until your angelic voice broke him out of his trance.

“baby. close your mouth. you’ll catch flies.”

he could feel the heat radiating to his cheeks as he choked on his words. “sorry-“ he reached his hand out for yours, pulling you into his embrace “but mon coeur you’re the most beautiful woman i’ve ever seen. think you scrambled my brain there for a minute.”

your giggles only made his already rapid heart beat even faster. “thank you. you’re very handsome too charlie.”

he’d never felt more in love than right now and when you two made eye contact he knew your were it for him.

you saw charles start to lean in to give you a kiss, but put your finger up to his lips instead. “um no. i love you, but i worked too hard on this makeup for you to mess it up.”

a playful groan escaped past charles lips. “chérie! come on! just one little kiss?”

you patted his chest as you walked past him and towards the door. “we are gonna be late. plus i think the race winner deserves a good prize later no?”

charles didn’t need to be told twice. he was hot on your heels ushering you out the door.

I’m see this but if you think about it. If the spark is the first thing to develop and that’s basically the bots heart mind an soul, Soundwave usually figures it out because 1 bot now suddenly has two thoughts coming from them.

But these thoughts are more conceptual than words and the only bots that have thoughts like that are animals and babies.

This could be twisted really Angsty too. Like a pregnant soundwave or his partner is sparked and everyday listening to his child’s concepts of thoughts and feelings is the one thing bringing him comfort and one day maybe after a battle and him or his partner is hit not even as bad as they usually are but bed enough to still go med bay the thoughts either slow come to a stop or they wake up and the little thoughts are just gone.

They don’t even want to look at the spark reader cause they know already before the doc even tells them. That the little dot of such innocent thoughts and feeling is no longer hovering against his own.

You know, I've never considered Schlatt to be a real villain on DreamSMP.

Even before I found out more about him, he seemed to me more like an antihero. Partly because hey, every bad guy has a reason to be bad, right? Schlatt had it, I guess I can understand his rudeness and alcoholism. I'm not saying that it justifies what an asshole he was, no, I'm just saying that there was a pretty good reason for it.

What reason? His disease.

This is canon — judging by Fundy's spy notes, Schlatt had some form of muscular dystrophy and a "sick body." He doesn't swim or run canonically, and this fits perfectly with his disease. Like anyone else, it was one of the reasons for his alcoholism and crappy personality.

Would you be happy to exist every day knowing that you are terminally ill, that your body is getting weaker and weaker, that there is nothing you can do about it? Now you can't swim or run, soon you won't be able to walk, then you won't be able to breathe on your own an in the end your heart will just stop working... And there is no cure. Do you know what is the most common cause of death for people with a similar diagnosis? A heart attack. Yeah.

Few people will continue to be positive in such a situation. Alcohol can help you relax, but it's still a bad choice. But Schlatt didn't really have anyone he could really rely on — even Quackity eventually left.

After death, by the way, Schlatt showed up as a ghost, but where? In a gym. He was trying to build up his muscles, which is kinda stupid for a ghost, but hey, he couldn't do anything like that in while he was alive, maybe he's trying to catch up? It's sad again.

It's also sad that Schlatt ended up alone. Like, I want to note that the time when he was president was the most peaceful in Manberg's history. The dude was literally performing his duties properly, albeit harshly, and for that he was... Hated? I mean, yes, he banished Tommy and Wilbur, but look at it from the other side — they were both the instigators of all the troubles at that time. And now — problem solved. I don't like Tommy for many reasons, and one of them is that he's good at creating chaos that others have to clean up. But is he loved for that??? And Schlatt, who tried to solve this problem, is hated. Wow. What in the actual fuck?

Okay, maybe I'm really justifying him, but I don't understand those who consider Schlatt the default villain. He obviously had a bad temper, a questionable sense of humor, and an alcohol addiction, but the dude really tried his best. And compared to other rulers that were on the server, his way of solving the problem for me personally was the most peaceful, albeit radical.

However, later everything went downhill completely, but that's another conversation...

Wait wait. Luke saying he turned the hardware store into a diner after his father died because he "knew how to cook" has me thinking that maybe the reason Luke knew so much about cooking was because he was the one doing it after his mother died. Think about it: their Mom died when Luke and Liz were still in school, probably, and their Dad had to keep running the store to support the family, so who was feeding everyone and taking care of the things their Mom used to take care of? Not Liz (who said she'd "never cooked dinner before" Season 4). It was Luke, the oldest child.

So, Luke was experienced enough with cooking to be able to open a restaurant as a young man because he'd had to fill his mother's shoes when he was a teenager.

Thinking about Sirius struggling with bad moods and sadness after leaving his family, and the frustration and shame that comes with this because he should be happy and relieved now that he's free and living with James. So instead of showing or talking about this with anyone, he hides away when these moods hit.

He's not completely alone though; there's the Potters' cat curling up beside him, warm and purring. Might even bring toys in case the dog wants to play.
