Thinking about seekers laying dud eggs like how some birds do, and just the idea of TFP star’s plating begging to swell around his middle. He’s used to it so it isn’t much of a big deal, but for Optimus? With his breeding kink? Hooooo.

He keeps looking at it. Keeps running his hands close to star’s stomach when they’re cuddling in bed. Just taking it in. Starscream catches on pretty quick, there’s a certain delicateness to Optimus compared to usual and it’s pretty obvious that he’s got a fixation on his stomach.

During sex, he notices Optimus get close and how he seems like he wants to touch his stomach, but instead keeps rubbing at his sides, as they both start getting close, Star makes his move and takes Optimus’s hand, places it on his stomach, and asks him to imagine what it would be like when Optimus puts an actual sparkling in him. And Optimus overloads hard. Really hard. Like smoke coming from his smokestacks hard. Cuddles star close.

(When Star lays the dud, he’s also a very comforting partner. Rubs star’s sore abdomen. Cuddles with him and gets him energon to hydrate. They pretty much stay in bed all day afterwards.)

i love optimus being such a caring partner! starscream is probably used to going through this on his own, so it's a welcome change of pace to have someone there to help him through such an uncomfortable (to say the least) process. it definitely helps that optimus finds his changing body attractive, not repulsive. it's quite sweet, seeing him doting on starscream (and being nervous to touch his belly, even though he clearly wants to)

meanwhile, poor optimus is flustered out of his mind. he keeps imagining, "what if that was my sparkling in there?" and when starscream actually lets him touch his belly and indulges optimus in his fantasy?? that poor bot's gone, overloading so hard that his smokestacks start going off, maybe his horn even blares. he's pretty embarrassed about it, but he's glad that starscream enjoys the idea, too

I was reading the last chapter (by the way, I love Megap conversations), and I suddenly thought that Optimus would absolutely panic when his belly started to grow. And I can even imagine that no one will even notice at first, but as soon as they notice, OP will have a complete panic attack and hysteria. There's no way he can hide it anymore

Oh, absolutely! Optimus would have a mild freak out about his belly growing bigger because that's not normal for Cybertronians. It's not even normal for carriers, cuz most that used to carry weren't that thin around the waist. Most had more closely to Bulkhead's and Ratchet's build (that was seen as more of a desired physic for carriers). It would also freak him out because they'd have to remove the plating around his abdomen, so his protoform would be on display. Which would be so dangerous because that's such a sensitive part of him. But yes, the moment that his belly starts to grow, Optimus would panic because there's no longer any way he can hide his condition anymore at that point.

Oooh idea for hive Queen Oppy

Arazoma is a Cybertronian teenager by now when he notices the Insecticons acting weird. He asks them what’s going on and one of them explains to him that their queen’s belly stayed big after depositing the latest batch of eggs and they’re waiting for Ratchet to get to the hive to examine him. Arazoma is confuzzled because he isn’t used to the idea of a tummy “staying big” but is curious either way, scrambling over to mama’s room to wait with his carrier.

Ratchet gets to the hive and is lead to the nesting/breeding room and he checks Optimus. They’re a bit chatty to each other since they haven’t seen each other in a while, but Ratchet has to process what he sees. When the Insecticons are if it’s anything bad, Ratchet just answers that Optimus is carrying twins and the sires of said twins are the entire hive. The Insecticons are confused, as something like this has never happened before, but the medic tells them that giving Oppy transfluid is fine, but no more eggies until a few weeks after the bitties are out. Arazoma is confused about some of the weird words Ratchet used, but the Insecticons are excited so he is too.

A good couple of months pass, perhaps even almost a year, before the day happens and a hive member bolts to get Ratchet for the bitties being birthed. Arazoma isn’t allowed in the room despite hearing mama’s pain, and only stops pacing when Ratchet rushes by and into the room with some Insecticons with the healing bite glans things.

When it’s over, Arazoma is allowed in and his optics are wide as he sees two sparklings suckling from mama’s Energon pouches. One is very clearly some Insecticons-truck hybrid (peterbeetle?) while the second doesn’t have a clear alt mode right away. When they get to the point to finally transform, the first is indeed an Insecticon with many many truck elements and the second transforms into the chunkiest lil ape they’ve ever seen (yes, that’s Primal).

Arazoma gets excited that he has siblings now as the Insecticons get a new wave of cuteness overload.

The insecticons getting Optimus Pregnant and not just with eggs would boost up their egos so much. They did that, those are THEIR kids. Yes Arazoma is also their kid, but hes also Megatron's kid. These two are purely Optimus and the hives.

And ya maybe that's a bit harsh to say, but in all honesty they didn't think they could breed anything other than eggs.

And Primal being one of them is so funny to me, but it fits.

When Starscream was carrying, did he have to go through any of the organic-esque problems? (i.e. cravings, mood-swings, tender spots? If so, he must've worked Skyfire to the wire.)

Plus did he ever feel something equivalent to kicks? (Spark flares for protoforms? idk).

Yeah, you can say that he did have cravings. (Tho most of the time he didn't know what he craved, and before Sky let it drive him insane, he just accepted his new reality.)

As for the "kicks", they were more like shocks of static/electricity, and Star suffered them often. Sky would often talk to them and swore the little shock were them answering to him.

And the kids being mixed did not help either. Starscream felt like he was carrying a sack of canonballs inside his cockpit, so flying only got harder from there. Sky would offer to carry him if Star ever got tired of walking (which was often.)

Skyfire actually told STAR that he's carrying.

and then they simultaneously remembered every complication that prevented them from doing it on purpose years beforehand. and had two very different flavors of panic attack.

One of my headcannons is that Primes can't get pregnant because their chests have their sparks, T-cog, and the matrix, there's like, no room for a sparkling. The matrix is like an IUD lmao

so instead their sire protocols are just really strong since their carrier one can't activate, RIP Ratchet though that sparklings gonna be huge
