Could you do Sylph of Breath? :)
Yes. :)
The Sylph of Breath
Tumblr media
Sylphs have a nice godtier outfit.
Sylph - passive creating class, one who heals/fixes their aspect, or heals/fixes with their aspect.
Breath - control over wind and airflow, as well as freedom.
The Sylph of Breath is one who heals/fixes Breath, or heals/fixes with Breath.
The opposite of a Sylph of Breath is a Prince of Blood.
Something that I find that Sylphs struggle with is specifically, when people don't need or want their help with their aspect. A Sylph of Breath fixes and heals through Breath, and while a visual of them breathing on a wound to heal it is hilarious, metaphorically it's a different story.
They try and heal people through, mainly, encouraging them to drop people that they consider to be bad for whoever they're trying to help. This is not always a bad thing, but it comes to be a bad thing when the Sylph pushes for it, even if it might end up doing more harm than good.
In their eyes, attachments are probably the most dangerous thing that can hurt someone, and they will talk about it. Sylphs love analysis, and a Sylph of Breath might obsess over different relationship types (platonic or otherwise).
There's more to it than just "drop your friends xoxo". The Sylph of Breath might also encourage to give people space when something happens. They're the friend who tells you to go and cool off after an argument.
They want the best for their friends, and sometimes they accidentally hurt them in the process, but that's a thing we all do. They might be caught up in their own ideals of how to help others, but learning hands on from other people how they like to be helped is something that would help, too.

oh! could i get a session analysis for:
heir of space, seer of life, maid of hope, thief of rage (prospit dreamers)
sylph of light, rogue of heart, page of breath, mage of time (derse dreamers)
none of these people know eachother before the start of the game. it’s a wacky session
OKAY! This is exiting. I'll take these one by one and then go through how their personalities interact. Prospit Dreamers: Heir of Space: Space is patience and setting. It's the process before the end result. Heirs are passive witches, so they manipulate their aspect indirectly. An Heir of Space would have the kind of personality that would inspire people to be more patient. They'd encourage others to take their time and sniff the roses and stuff. Seer of Life: Life the aspect that tells me you're going somewhere. It's growing big and strong, be it physically, mentally, economically, you name it. A seer of life would research general improvement and wellness and share these findings with others. I picture those "sigma males" who are constantly telling people how to manage their lives and their money, but probably in a way that's sillier and less mean. Maid of Hope: This is a cool one! A maid would rely on other people for their aspect. So picture somebody who is naturally very pessimistic who's surrounded by inspiring individuals. It's their job to learn how to find this positive potential within themselves in order to be self sufficient. Thief of Rage: Someone who is generally antagonistic, but not good at it. Over time, they improve in their hurtful ways. These players will usually have good reasons for poking and prodding at their coplayers and just making them feel worse, but other times its just for selfish gain. Derse Dreamers: Sylph of Light: We have an example of this class inside the comic, Aranea! As a Sylph, she had many ideas that she wanted to share with as many people as possible, but she struggled with her own relevance and how to put that into action. Aranea may have been a meanie in the comic, but that doesn't have to be the case for all sylphs of light! Rogue of Heart: Nepeta Leijon! A rogue is one who struggles to even relate to their aspect, passing it on as other people's responsibility at first. With time, they can grow to take back their aspect and enjoy it for themselves. Think of Nepeta, making ships of all of her friends, but never fully confronting the idea of her own love interests. She couldn't accept herself and her own emotions. Page of Breath: Tavros Nitram! A page will cover up a flaw in their aspect by making up a load of nonsense to seem more confident in their aspect than they actually are. Tavros believed the key to a healthy self esteem was repeating empty affirmations untill you feel better. His relation to the breath aspect was one of somebody chasing an ideal. Mage of Time: This is somebody who has suffered from impatience and action, who will use that experience to attain their goals. The challenge with a mage of time is to accept other people's input. Now for the fun part. The synergy with these classpects. The Heir and the Mage are both very crucial to this session, because this is a larger session that needs those strong opposing aspects to keep everyone grounded. The Seer, Rogue, and Mage will be good to come to within a crisis and high stakes situation. The Thief, Maid, and Page will probably cause a lot of problems for this session, either on purpose or accident. The Page will definitely need the Heir and Maid to develop into a crucial component to this session that might be able to pull everyone together, regardless of their differences! This was very fun to analyze. - Mod Jade

The Sylph of Breath [symbols: fairy wand, wind]
The Sylph class has its basis in the nymphs of Greek mythology. An example would be the Fairy Godmother trope.
The Breath aspect’s main theme is freedom. You can find its official description here.
A Sylph of Breath is among those who alter paths, drive, and passion. This is the “classpect group” they belong to. Members include: the Sylph, Maid, Bard, and Prince of Breath/Blood. These classes are all opposites or inverses of each other that alter the Breath/Blood dichotomy (paths, drive, and passion). A description of classpect groupings can be found here.
The Sylph of Breath passively assists the Breath aspect. Passive classes are guided by others or act for the benefit of others. They are more likely to be kind, but less likely to stand up for themselves. Sylphs and Maids aid their aspect and everything it symbolizes or use it as a form of aid. Simplified, the Sylph of Breath is motivated by others to assist freedom.
In personality, the Sylph of Breath feels useless when they can't help others and dislikes commitment. Personality descriptions can be found here.
Their archetype is the Mother Escapee, defined by helping freedom. Archetypes are explained here.
Their opposite is the Maid of Blood, who actively assists connection.
Their inverse is the Prince of Blood, who actively destroys connection.
A classpect or “god tier” is an individual’s best self. All classpects go through a journey from unrealized, to struggle, to realized. When a character is unrealized, they neutrally exist as their inverse. On their struggle, they will wildly flip back and forth between their inverse and true classpect. In their worst moments they will act as their inverse, in their best their true classpect. When realized, they will stabilize as their true classpect. They will still have room to grow, but will become happier, more successful people.
This means that the Sylph of Breath begins life motivated by themselves to destroy connection. When their struggle arrives and they are at their worst, they will continue this behavior in negative extremes. However, when at their best, they will find purpose in instead assisting freedom for others. When realized, they will stabilize and continue to assist the Breath aspect passively, in a positive way.
They share their archetype with the Maid of Space, the Escapee Mother.
The Sylph of Breath would quest on a planet similar to the Land of Shine [Sylph] and Breath [Aspect]. An example would be the Land of Glimmer and Flurries. An explanation of planet naming conventions can be found here.
Two possible gods, or denizens, to reign over their planet would be Zeus (God of Thunder) or Hermes (the Messenger God). Other Breath aspect denizens can be found here.
When the Sylph of Breath completes their planet quests and dies on their quest bed, they would rise to ascension on the wings of fireflies (symbols of the fae). A list of soul animals can be found here.
The characters that I have currently classpected as Sylphs of Breath are: Florence + the Machine from Ke$hastuck and Sylaise from Dragon Age.
If any of the links not connected to my blog break, the content can be found on my Google Drive.

Sylph of Breath
A Sylph of Breath relies on their own independence and freedom, enhancing such things in others by proxy as a pure source of it themselves. They are scared of/hate anything that can tie them down, and so tend to detach themselves to keep themselves and their freedom safe. This means they are very good at keeping themselves free, but very flighty around others, purely because they are scared to lose their independence and freedom.

YUP. It me.
Sylph of Breath
The Sylph of Breath. One who heals freedom, air, and wind through freedom, air, and wind.
“Everything is going to be alright. I’m here. Just take a deep breath, ok?”
Sylph- heal their aspect and heal with it. They bring their aspect to where there is little of it, sowing the seeds for their aspect to grow.
Breath- major themes of freedom, air, wind, breath, and flexibility. Minor themes of direction and change.
Abilities
Fresh Air
The Sylph of Breath repairs freedom and change when it has been lost. The Sylph can use the air or their breath to heal freedom and change, inspiring movement.
A lower level Sylph could project sweeping winds from their exhale. Their words would swim around others, moving them away from stagnation. Breathing in the air that the Sylph exhales would cause one’s heart to relight and crave freedom and change.
At medium levels they could create bubbles. These can be used for transportation, containing and moving enemies and objects, and generally for causing disruption. The bursting if these bubbles creates an invigorating pulse wave.
A higher level Sylph could bring the winds of change after long periods of dormancy. Bonds and barriers would be broken by the Sylph’s steady breath and allies would be unrestrained. They could literally blow down doors and sandblast at chains and obstructions.
Soothing wind
The Sylph of Breath could simply breath to heal allies. Through use of their voice their words would have a soft, calming air to them.
A lower level Sylph could charm an aura around them. Their cool breath would bring a gentle breeze to heal the soul, lifting people’s spirits.
At medium levels their voice and breath would sooth and wind down. They would be like a gentle song instilling wanderlust and can cause things and people to slowly, but surely move off course.
As the progress their breath could heal physical wounds and not just moral ones. Their calming tone and warm breeze would gently pass over wounds, cleaning them out and healing them quickly.
A higher level Sylph of Breath could revive near dead bodies by breathing life into them.
Skills
Ventilation- allies stamina recovers 50% faster when you are near
Trend reover- the path you fix is the path of least resistance
Purifier- you can breath toxic or poisonous air and purify it when exhaling
Fraymotifs for the Sylph of Breath

IT CONTINUES. After an incredibly delightful couple of hours of explaining the character arcs in Fantasy High, partner in crime @seekingcylem and I did the most timely thing to do in 2024: assign them all Classpects. This was a lot of thinking, rotating the blorbos in my head and going over analysis a decade old RE: Homestuck theory and boy was it fun. I'll spare you all the details unless anyone wants to read it. The long and short of it is:
KRISTEN APPLEBEES, the HEIR OF HOPE. Human Sburb player.
RIZBERT "RIZ" GUKGAK, the SEER OF MIND. Human, hiveswapped onto Alternia. Sgrub player.
ADAINE ABERNANT, the PAGE OF RAGE. Human Sburb player.
FABIAN ARAMIS, descendant of of THE SEACASTER, and the SYLPH OF SPACE. Seadwelling purpleblood troll, Sgrub player.
GORGUG SPRING, the BARD OF DOOM. Greenblood troll, hiveswapped onto Earth. Sburb player.
FIGERO "FIG" FAETHE, the THIEF OF BREATH. Redblood troll, Sgrub player.
(also for those of you who are concerned about the lack of a Time player, never fear: AYDA AGUEFORT joins the Sburb players in Act 2 as a Knight of Time.)

Classpect analysis notes under the cut!
Spent the last 2-3 weeks classpecting with the Book Club and here's what we largely came to agree on for MY classpects. I came to the discussion thinking "Thief of Doom" but I guess things just change! Most of us went into this with "which classpect would present the biggest challenge for me" so most of my notes take on... challenging qualities.
I'll try to post everyone else's final classpects + notes in this blog eventually (soon).
🩸 PRINCE OF BLOOD 👑
Princes are individuals who either lack their Aspect or outright reject their Aspect and are defined by their struggle to come to terms with it
The Prince of Blood may start out as an individual who struggles with relationships
They would have difficulties forging new friendships, maintaining bonds, and finding meaning within the company of others
They resent the ties that bind them to people, most likely due to their overwhelming need to honor obligations at any cost
Their highly competent nature is sought out by others but is rarely rewarded, putting this Prince at risk of being exploited if they are not discriminating in the company they keep (like Pages)
The Prince’s mean independence streak can border on the extreme if they don’t have social anchors to ground them
They have a fetishistic need to burn bridges at the slightest inconvenience, selfishly preferring to indulge in their maladapted coping instinct over rationally working things through with others
They are equally avoidant and combative, lacking the meekness of Rogues but also their knack for charm and levity
The Prince of Blood’s natural instinct is to avoid confrontation not out of fear of others but of themselves
“Nobody makes me bleed my own blood. Especially me!”
What little people they manage to keep around them are at risk of being put on a gilded pedestal
The Prince’s loyalty to those that they deem worthy is all-consuming and dangerous, to both themselves and others
To step outside The Prince’s idealized version of you would be to betray their trust and one-sided devotion, something they will never be able to forgive
Princes naturally gravitate towards embodying their opposite Aspect, at least outwardly
The Prince’s independence is sacred and is something they will never willingly compromise with, much to the chagrin of those around them
CAUTION: Do not tell this Prince what to do
They chafe against tradition and the status quo but lack the drive (and charisma) to rally others to their cause
They seek out novelty over the tried and true, often having difficulties completing long-term projects out of boredom or due to needing to experiment
The Prince wants nothing more than to escape the “heaviness” of Blood for the airy pursuits of Breath but will always be doomed to be tethered by their undeniable need to love and to be loved by others
Princes destroy Blood or destroys through Blood for themselves
Aside from being effective solo killers (blows up all your blood), the Prince would be able to utilize their bonds to destroy other bonds
They could form alliances or force others into contracts to help eliminate other inconvenient alliances
Obligations become weaponized as the Prince can call upon irrevocable (and inescapable) favors to their team’s benefit
The inverse classpect manifests when Players are at their worst or are emotionally compromised
The Prince of Blood’s inverse is the Sylph of Breath
At their worst, the Prince could take a dogmatic approach to prescribing their variety of independence as the one-and-only solution, forcing their brand of “living” as the panacea for all of life’s injustices
Their forced and misguided aid would make them appear to be tyrants to others despite the Prince’s initial good intentions
They could also become wholly irresponsible individuals, shirking the demands of Blood completely for a life of carefree self-destruction
🖕 SEER OF RAGE 🔮
Seers receive knowledge of their Aspects externally, not being innately versed in their Aspect early in their journey
The Seer of Rage could initially have trouble understanding anger and fear, both theirs and others, as they’re either suffering from chronic indifference or are in deep denial about their own inhibitions
They could appear to be carefree and upbeat individuals while being deeply conflicted and troubled on the inside, completely loath to let their struggles be perceived by others
The Seer will never admit to feeling powerless over their lack of agency over their base instincts, shamefully resorting to relying on the voice of more authoritative figures to guide them instead
They want others to see them as arbiters of self-control, infallible beings who keep a short leash on any unbecoming instinct that betrays their lack of mastery of the self
The Seer is oft indecisive, afflicted by the restrictions they place on themselves by being unable to look past their own fears and discomforts
The Seer comes into their own when they start allowing themselves to question their beliefs, confronting uncomfortable revelations, and allowing themselves to dabble in the mess that is “human emotion”
The catalyst needed to put the Seer on the right path in pursuing their own truths will usually be explosive, a sudden and dramatic event that would change their relationship with their Aspect forever
The Seer of Rage may be one of the more “introspective” Seers in that the prerequisite to being of any use to their team and session is to understand themselves first rather than blindly trusting external sources
They can also run the risk of becoming mouthpieces for misguided causes and manipulative forces
These Seers tend to be natural pacifists who rarely enjoy involving themselves directly in conflicts
This does not mean that they are shy about letting their own Rage loose on occasion
Seers examine (understand) their Aspect or examine (understand) through their Aspect for others
The Seer of Rage can literally see (smell?) fear
They know exactly what people are afraid of and what needs to be done to mitigate, avoid, or enhance it in others
They can be incredible strategists, capable of seeing through illusions and identifying enemies’ psychological weaknesses
The Seer is capable of identifying all the possible missteps stemming from the “human element” in plans and will work around them accordingly
The inverse classpect manifests when Players are at their worst or are emotionally compromised
The Seer of Rage’s inverse is the Witch Hope
At their worst, the Seer shirks their responsibility as the messenger of hard truths, using their extensive knowledge of fear and anger to transform “unpalatable” emotions into more pleasant experiences for others
Allows unhealthy delusions to cloud their ability to discern the truth from fantasy
Focuses too much on helping others avoid reality than on confronting it

feastings sprite edits of the drv3 crew. transparent version and titles under the cut
Tumblr media
Rantaro, Kaede, Ryoma, and Kirumi all got prototyped because that's the best way I could figure out how to include them without getting fanmade classes and aspects involved (I think those are really cool, just not what I wanted for this particular thing)
also I referenced the blog classpect-navelgazing while assigning these, cuz that style of analysis really made sense to me. I highly recommend reading through it if you haven't already
Kiibo: Heir of Hope
Shuichi: Page of Light (yes I gave him tights)
Kirumi: [prototyped with a spider (because of course)]
Korekiyo: Witch of Blood
Tsumugi: Bard of Time (yes I gave her an outfit that is slightly less complete horseshit than the canon one)
Kaede: [prototyped with a mantis (presumably several of Gonta's bugs escaped and some of them got into the kernelsprites)]
Kaito: Seer of Heart
Ryoma: [prototyped with his cat]
Miu: Prince of Rage
Rantaro: [prototyped with Kaito's NASA-themed Snoopy plushie]
Himiko: Mage of Void (no I did not make her a Mage solely because of the name, but it was for sure a factor)
Tenko: Maid of Breath
Kokichi: Rogue of Mind
Maki: Knight of Doom
Angie: Thief of Life (wow that title sounds so brutal out of context)
Gonta: Sylph of Space

Noticed u reblogged homestuck stuff and I've been reading summer vacation so I must ask...if the two main charas had classpects, what would they be? And do u know ur classpect (sorry for classpect questions I'm autism)
NEVER BE SORRY THIS IS SUCH AN INTERESTING QUESTION. i love using classpects as a form of media/character analysis so:
marion is a maid of doom. she causes doom, i literally can't elaborate more because i would spoil the WHOLE COMIC. she's also very pessimistic in most aspects and tends to be a reality check for kaz. i'll be honest this was a REALLY HARD pick for her-- other options i was considering for her are sylph and rogue. marion is also quite literally doomed to fail-- low grades, a lack of motivation and anxiety about growing up dooms her to never leave her home, even though the choice is hers to leave. she also dooms others in the comic, caused by her choices. marion's moon is derse.
kaz is a knight of breath. she uses her personality and flexibility to get what she wants. she quite literally breezes through life without much struggle, and tends to be personable and easygoing. she's good at making friends wherever she goes because she's pretty perceptive and adaptable in social situations. she is a protector for spoiler reasons. she also visibly weaponizes her upbeat side to get marion to drop a negative topic multiple times in the comic already. kaz's moon is prospit.
i'll give you a freebie too-- kirby is a bard of hope and he's prospit. take that as you will JKFHDJSKF
i'm personally an heir of time! thank you for the ask !!!

DSMPSTUCK DESIGNS PT2
Tumblr media
heheehehe tommeeeyyyy
he's so goofy, i tried to make him look interesting cuz i saw a lot of designs that were really simple and i wanted to add more silly details
so tommy is a human, but he is in fact an Aries, he is a Prospit dreamer and i believe he is a Heir of Blood (im too sleepy to explain just trust me on this one) so, hypothetically, if he were to be a troll he would be in the (canon extended zodiac's) sign of Arcer (sign of the officer)
Tumblr media
OKAY SO TUBBO
i love the idea that tubbo had kind of a jade situation and had to fuse with his sprite which happened to have a ram and is actually god tier but uses normal clothes :)))
so tubbo is a human as well but he is a Capricorn, and i believe he is a Derse dreamer and a Bard of Breath
mostly because of the way he developed as a character, starting in a way, very attached to Tommy, looking for connections and trying to be the leader of a country, but in the end not being able to bare with it all and pushing people away
so hypothetically if he were a troll he'd fall on the sign of Capriun (sign of the cartographer)
Tumblr media
fundy!
fundy is a human which also had a jade situation and became part fox!!
hes a Mage of Breath i believe, mostly because of the way he felt isolated from everyone
he is also a libra and a Prospit dreamer which would land him on the sign Libus (sign of the vibrant)
Tumblr media
OMG MY FAVOURITE ONE :)
ok more like my second fave but still hehe
Wilbur, unlike many designs would lead you to believe, is actually a Virgo!!
i believe he is a Prince of Mind, and i will elaborate in another post (maybe) because i have a lot to say about him bc i LOVE THIS CHARACTER SO MUCH AGHHH
so anyways, he therefore is a Derse dreamer Jadeblood, Prince of Mind, which would fall into Virza (sign of the puzzle) ((fun fact that's also my extended zodiac sign)) (((i swear it wasn't or purpose i prome plz-----)))
Tumblr media
JJJJJSCHLATT
slatt
he is also a virgo actually, that surprised me lmao
i believe he is a Witch of Rage, a Derse dreamer and being a Jadeblood that would give him the sign of viriborn (sign of the stringent)
i don't have much to say, this design was kinda lazy, i might remake it actually
Tumblr media
ERET MY BELOVED
they would also be an ancestor design, i just couldn't render him cuz,, i got lazy---
but yeah he is a Capricorn and he is a Sylph of Heart♡♡♡, he is also a Derse dreamer and that would give him the sign Caprio (sign of the opaque)
Tumblr media
FINALLY I GOT TO HIM I REALLY WANNA TALK ABOUT THIS
so first of all quackity is a Capricorn, HOWEVER i couldn't think of a very good design with purple for him specifically and so i was talking with a friend and came to this thought:
Quackity, like Jack Noir, was kinda pushed around and undermined,(more things i wrote but were deleted, ill do a deeper analysis when im more awake i swear)
essentially hes a derse Capricorn page of space, that would fall on Capriga sign of the surveyor
((edit;; oh my god it deleted like half of my post im going to die))
((ill post the rest tomorrow maybe))

hello, core differences between bards and sylphs please? this might be an unconventional question (hope this isnt too hard to answer), but im trying to write a fan session for my friends and we hit a roadblock and we kinda need help. sylphs and bards do have different quests and personal journey but im more confused on what is the difference of their actions in-game.
my example, we plan our sylph of breath character to inspire a civil war on derse that upends the balance of the game simply because she was outspoken on how she hates that the king and queen in their session forces and threaten their citizens to be loyal to them and the war at all costs. but my friend said this is more of a thing bard of blood usually do, passively inviting destruction by ruining the team cohesion of their enemies. but i personally think this is more of a case of sylphs breaking the shackles and fixing the freedom for others but fucking up because their character arc and personal quest aren't done yet. what do you think?
This is an interesting case of opposite classes and opposite aspects resulting in two very similar titles. Both could play this role.
Sylphs and Bards are both passive classes, but Sylphs function more as coordinators and supporters while Bards are tricksters and wildcards -- things tend to happen *around* Bards, with less consideration for what they actually want to do.
A Bard's aspect may end up working against them, following the whims of chaos, while Sylphs are on much better terms with their own metaphysics. If the Sylph of Breath starts the war, it's because she acted hastily when she should have been patient; if the Bard of Blood does it, it's because they thought they had more control over the situation than they actually did.
The key difference is in order versus chaos. Bards naturally tend towards chaos, so for them trying to enact order would be what goes against the grain. If your Bard really thought they could handle this political situation, it could hardly do anything *but* devolve into a war, where the bonds they were trying to break might end up even stronger than they were before.
The Bard invites destruction by involving themselves in the fray, and the forces of Blood turn on them as a result. Opposite to this, Sylphs tend towards order. They want to do things cleanly and efficiently. In this case, the Sylph of Breath jumps the gun and acts before she knows all the facts, resulting in chaos and war.
She has good intentions, or maybe doesn't even intend to do anything at all but voice her own personal beliefs, but she behaves recklessly. The forces of Breath spin out of her control like she accidentally released an invasive species into the ecosystem. I think ultimately there's no single right answer as to which character is more likely to do this.
It depends on what would work best in the story. Consider, are there any particular themes you want to write about? The Bard's path here is one of dramatic irony, overestimating one's own ability, and consequences of getting involved with other people's problems.
The Sylph's path is about small actions with big consequences down the line, paving the road to hell with good intentions, and in a sense failing to "put your own oxygen mask on first" -- trying to help others but falling through due to lack of foresight.
They are similar, and the ultimate outcome is the same, but which path is best depends on the structure of the rest of the plot. For whichever character you don't pick for this role, consider what else they can do that's of equal importance to the narrative.
If you find that either one doesn't have any other opportunities to catalyse a major story beat like this, I would suggest giving them this one, and letting the other have the spotlight somewhere else.

LADIES AND GENTLEMEN NOBODY ASKED BUT I HAVE DELIVERED!!!
After several days of analysis and brainstorming I have successfully classpected the dragon riders from HTTYD :DDDDD
Hiccup - Page of Blood, Prospit Dreamer
Astrid - Prince of Rage, Derse Dreamer
Snotlout - Thief of Hope, Derse Dreamer
Fishlegs - Rogue of Heart, Derse Dreamer
Ruffnut - Witch of Time, Prospit Dreamer
Tuffnut - Sylph of Space, Prospit Dreamer
If anyone wants to know my reasonings it was a combination of Dahni Witch of Light’s classpect analysis and bouncing ideas off of my friends
Fun facts:
Hiccup was a tough choice between Blood and Breath, and I decided if he had indeed left before the fight with the Monstrous Nightmare and went to live with the dragons he would absolutely be Breath.
Another fun thing was Maid of Rage Hiccup if he was, well, angrier. Read Dahni’s description for the classpect and think of Hiccup going on his villain arc and you get the picture lol
My friend brought up the fact that Valka is Breath tho and I ABSOLUTELY agree with her
Tuffnut was originally Sylph of Breath! But after reading the description for Sylph of Space I thought it fit a lot more
Fishlegs I was initially gunning to be Mind, but it was the existence of one Thor Bonecrusher that made me realize omg, no, he’s Heart
Snotlout was a tie between Thief of Hope or Heart but after figuring out Fishlegs, and looking closer, Hope fit way more
Astrid was. A process. Hope, Time, Rage, Space, Knight, Heir, Prince, Bard, it took A WHILE but Prince of Rage seemed to fit the best (if you can think of something better I’m all ears, actually she’s the only one I’m still not entirely confident on 👀)
We have four!! Homestuck kinnies here lol Fishlegs the Nepeta kinnie, Astrid the Kurloz kinnie (it was SO CLOSE to being Eridan or Cronus I’m DYING-), Tuffnut the Kanaya kinnie, and Ruffnut the Damara kinnie
Final fun fact, I wanted to see what castes they’d be on the hemospectrum and Hiccup is the only one with a canon birthday but the FUNNIEST THING TO ME OKAY, is that he’s Fuchsia, aka the highest caste, literal royalty, and I find that funny because of his whole being the chief/son of the chief thing oml it’s just perfect it was meant to be
For the others, Astrid was Rust, Fishlegs Lime, the Twins Gold (duh), and Snotlout was so confusing bc like so many people couldn’t decide if he was Taurus or Scorpio, but then I thought since he’s Hiccup’s cousin what if he was Violet and I like that but it would’ve made him a True Aquarius.
Bronze would’ve been funny bc it would’ve been all the other riders at the very bottom of the spectrum (in order to boot!) and Hiccup all the way up top, I ended up going Cerulean as it was a nice halfway point but tbh I’m still kinda fond of Violetblood Snotlout so idk

have you done a maid of heart analysis yet? would love to see your take on it :D
The Maid of Heart [symbols: flower, heart]
The Maid class has its basis in the handmaiden or lady-in-waiting. An example would be Joan of Arc.
The Heart aspect’s main theme is instinct. You can find its official description here.
A Maid of Heart is among those who alter the individual's impact. This is the “classpect group” they belong to. Members include: the Sylph, Maid, Bard, and Prince of Heart/Mind. These classes are all opposites or inverses of each other that alter the Heart/Mind dichotomy (the individual's impact). A description of classpect groupings can be found here.
The Maid of Heart actively assists the Heart aspect. Active classes tell themselves what to do and do so for their own benefit. They are more likely to stand up for themselves, but more likely to be cruel. Sylphs and Maids aid their aspect and everything it symbolizes or use it as a form of aid. Simplified, the Maid of Heart is motivated by themselves to assist instinct.
In personality, the Maid of Heart feels like something is holding them back and is invested in self discovery. Personality descriptions can be found here.
Their archetype is the Escapee Free Spirit, defined by freedom and instinct. Archetypes are explained here.
Their opposite is the Sylph of Mind, who passively assists intuition.
Their inverse is the Bard of Mind, who passively destroys intuition.
This means that the Maid of Heart begins life motivated by others to destroy intuition. When their struggle arrives and they are at their worst, they will continue this behavior in negative extremes. However, when at their best, they will find purpose in instead assisting instinct for themselves. When realized, they will stabilize and continue to assist the Heart aspect actively, in a positive way.
They share their archetype with the Rogue of Breath, the Free Spirit Escapee.
The Maid of Heart would quest on a planet similar to the Land of Underground [Maid] and Heart [Aspect]. An example would be the Land of Rabbit Holes and Roses. An explanation of planet naming conventions can be found here.
Two possible gods, or denizens, to reign over their planet would be Aphrodite (Goddess of Love) or Yaldabaoth (Trapper of Souls). Other Heart aspect denizens can be found here.
When the Maid of Heart completes their planet quests and dies on their quest bed, they would rise to ascension on the wings of ladybugs (symbols of love). A list of soul animals can be found here.
The characters that I have currently classpected as Maids of Heart are: Snow White from Once Upon a Time, Laurie Jupiter from Watchmen, Maryden Halewell from Dragon Age, Aubrey Little from The Adventure Zone: Amnesty, Lucy Brennan from Twin Peaks, Stephanie Splitz from LazyTown, Alice from Alice in Wonderland, and Pearl Krabs from SpongeBob SquarePants.

Welcome one and all.
Welcome to Classpecting Caxy. My name is Davina.
I am Knight of Breath with a deep love of classpects and the lore and information behind them.
Is that strange, given that's more of a Light thing? Maybe. But when have we ever turned away from the strange?
This is where I'll run my Homestuck content from. What will I be doing, you might ask?
Easy.
I intend to run analysis of classes, aspects, and lunar sways, and assign them to those curious of what theirs may be. I also do OC Session Posts that readers can influence through polls on each post. I can even theorize powersets for each godtier classpect if you'd like!
The Cast of the OC Session Posts
Aazoth Ocktur, Knight of Heart, Bronze Blood
Cyceri Amphas, Thief of Space, Olive Blood
Sashin Niliac, Rogue of Time, Purple Blood
Silvas, Prince of Doom, Cerulean Blood
Feel free to send in asks about the cast as well!
I will update this post with links as I analyze each class and aspect. The classes are, in order from most active to most passive (Excluding the Master Classes, more on that later):
Thief Prince Witch Knight Maid Mage Heir Bard Rogue Seer Sylph Page
There are also two Master Classes, which sit as outliers: Lord Muse
The Aspects are, in no particular order:
Space Time Breath Doom Blood Light Void Hope Heart Life Rage Mind
The Lunar Sways are: Derse Prospit
Below you will find Classes, Aspects, Classpects, and Lunar Sways I have analyzed. Click on the item you wish to read about and it will take you to the relevant post.

Quick summary of what a Classpect is:
A Classpect is the combination of an individuals Class and Aspect.
Classes determine HOW you interact with your Aspect, while your Aspect determines what facet of reality your Class interacts with. As example, a Prince (active destroyer class) of Time (aspect of time, continuity, etc), would destroy time, while a Seer (passive knowledge class) of Time would see possible futures and events from long ago.
There is more to it than that, but that's an adequate simplified explanation.
What I can do
I can analyze and explain Classes and Aspects, how one might be one or the other, as well as explain the impact they have on a personal growth quest.
I can also analyze information I'm given to determine what classpect you might have, based on what you share with me.
I'm also open to analyze classpect pairings, determining the compatibility of individuals based on classpect and the nature of that compatibility.
Another option is sending me a list of Classpects and I will analyze how a session may go with that grouping.
Or you can ask me what specific powers a Classpect may have, and I will theorize what their powerset may be.
I'll also do Classpect comparisons, for those who aren't quite sure what the exact differences are.
What you can do
Send me asks. Ask me about classes, aspects, how they impact our world, how we impact them, how they interact with one another, which ones you are, anything at all.
Ask, and be answered. That is the promise of this blog.

Note
How do you think a Sylph of Doom would affect the session? Like how would the aspect of doom be broken in the session in order for the Sylph to heal it? Would it be like a lack of rules/system in the game or would it affect the players fate? Sorry if this is a confusing question/if it's worded badly
This all really depends on what you as a writer want to do with your story. The class list is dyadic, sure, but people organize their dyads differently (heir-witch? heir-page? mage-witch? mage-seer? sylph-witch? sylph-maid? knight-sylph? over the years the fandom has persuasively argued for any of these).
That being said, you asked what I think! So here's what I think. This can be considered my analysis post for Sylphs and Doom :)
Tumblr media
When I was a small girl, I walked through the market
Holding my dad's hand, mitten in gloved hand
At night there were roses, lit up in glass boxes
The heat lamps would keep them from freezing in winter
We never bought them, but somebody must have
Maybe they made it, or maybe they froze up
Before any person had put them in water
And hoped that they'd still be alive by the morning
- Sellers of Flowers (Regina Spektor)
What's a Sylph, anyway?
The fandom consensus seems to be that sylphs heal in some way, or offer other mysterious fae magical assistance. We don't know more than that and what Kanaya sort of facetiously says once, which is that a Sylph is "sort of like a Witch but more magical". Does she mean that? Does she mean that they're nothing alike?
In the end it's your own call what your Sylphs do, and I think you have to define that explicitly for your own fansession.
In my case, I never paid any attention to sylphs at all until someone who was too emotionally dependent on me assigned me Sylph of Heart, and I got so offended (for lack of a better word) that I fell into a research hole and never emerged.
That's coloured my personal interpretation of the class, which is that they're something like a maid but more remote, and something like a witch but more remote, and something like a mage but less remote, and something like a page but less remote.
I think sylphs are... well, ok, let's digress and travel in time for a moment.
You know about Joseph Campbell's hero's journey, a survey of (a limited set of) folklore that uncovered some archetypes that have since this time plagued psychologists with pseudoscience and folklorists with dubious methodology.
You may not know that all this had such a stranglehold on the world that people took it fully seriously as a way for a man to realize himself, in a way presaging the current manosphere. But then that begs the question, what about women?
Enter Maureen Murdock, a student of Campbell's who asked him if women could also have heroic journeys of actualization, and was met with a dumbfounded look out of eyes that had never thought women might need to develop at all.
Well no, said Campbell, women are the thing men are striving to be worthy of. Why would they need to mature?
So of course then in her work as a therapist (working mostly again with the certain type of women drawn to her practice), Murdock identified a common path towards women (in her own, American culture and ones like it) feeling like whole people. Mostly it's about a process of trying to figure out what a woman is, a real flesh and blood breathing woman, and how to be and do that in women's way; there is unfortunate and dated secondwavey phrasing, but it's a solid thing all told.
For a time this has floated around as a kind of Heroine's Journey. It never attempted to actually be folkloristics, and as psychology it suffered at first from the "Undergrad Students Desperate For Study Payments On One Specific Homogeneous Campus Have Really Fucked Lives, More At 11" thing, which also gave us the false idea that absolutely everyone fantasizes about being violated.
But it has a point: for a woman in a patriarchy (which, to return to Homestuck, is allegorized by the female-centric, but still reproductively oppressive society which Kanaya and Porrim are vital to, but readable as marginalized in) to figure out who she is, she has to figure out what a woman is, in a context without much of value to say on the issue. She has to go through sort of an attempt to become other things, things other people want from her, and then eventually find herself.
Personally this is not my culture or my take on womanhood in real life, but at this point we are talking about interpreting Homestuck through the culture that produced Andrew Hussie, and I think it's useful for classpecting purposes.
To me a Sylph is kind of a response to this. I don't want to get into authorial intent because no one can know about that, but in real life a sylph is sort of an amorphous, ageless, healing, positive elemental spirit. So then a Homestuck Sylph is always a player in a social role of their society that corresponds to that - passive, mysticized, anodyne. Mysterious, but not because there needs to be much there. Mysterious because it's irrelevant to the other heroes' journey, which the sylph is led to believe they're there to support.
Morgan Le Fay. The Lady of the Lake on her magical island. Vasilissa the Wise. Ninian, one supposes. Even Kanaya in her fertility-focused mystery cult. All those lovely flat marriageable wise jinni princesses.
Our two canon sylphs are Kanaya - obviously - and Aranea, whose narrative role is to help everyone mystically see and do a bunch of shit they need to, enable things to happen that ought to happen, and not particularly actively do anything else. But do they actually have to stay in that role, or is the point to transcend its limitations and come into one's own?
I would argue that it is, and that we can see that through the character of Porrim, who after all is sort of a parody of and response to the early fan response to Kanaya. We can also see it through the visceral imagery of how Kanaya saves the species (by killing her virgin mother-sister and extracting her womb/ootheca/budding clone).
So then: yes, sylphs heal or fix others and their fuck ups and life situations, but they also heal themselves and their world and their society's relation to the world. Their mystic function can be argued as something like restoring or finding balance, not necessarily the outcome their party wants or thinks it needs. In that way they might also be read as related to Pages, who go through the same journey of being everything but themselves but for the other binary gender.
Of course gender isn't really the important variable here, it's societal position -- your own sylph's journey can be about whatever you want, as long as it involves dealing with and negotiating the sort of mystic pedestal that people put them on for whatever reason.
That's what I think a Sylph is. They create, repair and preserve the appropriate amount of their aspect for the good of their group, but not because they're "only" good for that or "meant" to do it or somehow "ethereal creatures of [Aspect]" - just because it's necessary, because their aspect is out of balance, because someone has to look at it differently.
I have a fuchsia sylph (of hope) in an unfinished fanwork, Matsya, who might also be instructive as to sylphage and sylphing and so on; in that fanon trolls have a bit more obviously insectile biology, and Matsya is a laying worker, a "mutation" which is normally treated badly in a no longer hive-based society that got this way by chattelizing its queen morph.
But her position (as a queen, the feudal position, in the empire currently run by her biological aunt) gives her breathing room to think about it instead of being bioengineered into the "correct" morph or blacklisted from work appropriate to her caste, and the tension of having that breathing room and no idea what it's really like for others puts her into conflict with others in the setting. The point then isn't necessarily that a sylph Must be marginalized, but that the sylph has to be forced to confront the way that their society runs, react to it, and work to somehow "heal" the problem. Healing bodies and (or) minds can be a component of that -- Matsya for instance can passively inspire people, and insofar as she heals anyone before her gtier powers kick on, it's because all animals can heal themselves better when they don't feel pain and fear. But a Sylph of Rage would nurture and encourage or at least inspire something totally different - and in this way, a Sylph is like an active Muse.
Matsya accomplishes this in a way that restores Hope for a future (by integrating helpful ritual and mystic concepts from the past to serve the present), Kanaya does all this in canon for the aspect of Space by rescuing her species' potential and physical existence, and Aranea I think initially fails to do much more than literally helping Terezi see things because she's too busy playing Captain Save-a-Hoe to think of her role as fixing things in the world, in addition to problems in people.
Aranea's realization as a Sylph is too late for her party (and would probably have mostly benefited her anyway, as her aspect was Light - which is most directly luck, and she was by then working kind of blackhat hackerishly), but I think it comes at some point on the timeline tangential to Act 6, when she appears to be creating and manipulating circumstances and societal constants and understandings to get the Ring of Life (such as by putting John to sleep with her cerulean powers so that he can beat Tavros to it).
But anyhow, that's what I think a Sylph is -- someone who works with and resolves what they're given, in a somewhat more holistic and less servile way than a Maid -- insofar as I write Sylphs any particular way. As always, your mileage may vary.
Tumblr media
Who's the winner?
Not the roses,
Not the buyers, not the sellers,
Not the tellers of the stories,
Not the fathers, not their children.
Not those walking on a dark night
Through a memory they're forgetting.
Who's the winner?
Who's the winner?
Maybe winter, maybe winter...
I like this, what about the aspect of Doom?
Doom is straightforwardly about Law, but not in the cyclic sense of Time - in the linear sense of the wyrd of Norse sagas. Inevitable things, death, endings, suffering, decay. But also the emergence of order, through restriction; the imposition of law, Law and Law (the difference is like the difference between the law that makes jaywalking a crime in the USA, sharia, and the law of gravity). In a way, the yin to life's yang -- the antithesis of struggle, striving, flourishing and self-definition, but equally concerned with the way of things. And uniquely concerned with justice; doom is the aspect that governs and introduces the Just and Heroic Death rule, after all.
In the Slavic languages (famously very fatalistic) and in Yiddish there are words that reflect something I think is good to know about Doom and inevitable things; sudba, a neutral word for destiny meaning the thing judged for you, and mazal, both one of a canonical set of lucky stars and luck or fortune as derived from your birth underneath them. People use these words somewhat fatalistically, as in, you miss a shot or lose money to a casino and you say, oh, well it wasn't destined anyway, or oh, my lucky star is off duty tonight I guess. And then you go on with your life, because it's not always all going to be death doom suffering peril death doom death, even if you think it is. Usually something good happens afterward and you remember that your deity or force of choice isn't always completely drunk, just a lot of the time -- and that it does still have to look out for you occasionally.
A Doom player doesn't necessarily need to be dark or unpersonable (my fankid Eden and her uncle Yoel, also a Doom player in a different timeline, aren't, and neither are canon's Sollux and Mituna) -- they just need to have a character arc resolving around some relation to inevitability, law, decline and decay. None of these are necessarily bad things, though Sollux's case might reflect manifestations that are! Inevitability is part of the way of things, and decay, as the Tumblr lore goes, exists as an extant form of life.
And both together now:
In a sylph's case, because their role is to generate, maintain, resolve, repair and re-examine their aspect, yes, the Doom of their session is probably somehow flawed -- or maybe there's a lack of Doom, altogether, and they need to be the one to direct and contextualize the team. The sylph's personal life and journey is probably strongly tied in with beliefs about law and destiny and (by extension) belonging, meaning and social thought -- they could be pathologically unlucky, they could just be a person who believes in justice in a broken system. My partner's Heir of Doom, Aryyeh, has an inversion of this arc where he's placed to uphold and perpetuate damaged systems, but has to grow into someone who can do something about it - Heir of Doom (future perpetrator of crimes against trollkind) to Heir of Doom (worthy instrument of a new and kinder Law).
Either Doom or the Sylph's relation to Doom or both are unhealthy, and in the spirit of their classpect, they're meant to dial down and take things slow and thoughtfully. And of course, maybe they were born to and moulded by it... but I think their bigger concern is that their session itself might be doomed from the get-go. Don't you? ;)
