#Fuck UPS #They delivered my Switch Controllers to some random person #Grey controllers that came with my Switch an were just coming home from Nintendo repairs #So I'm out $80 probably cause I have zero faith in UPS finding them or giving me the cost to replace them #Which is going to make this week a little uncomfortable to replace them so I can use my Switch #Thankfully the bills are all paid #Just going to be a large chunk out of my food budget so nothing extra for me this week #Not to mention No One has the grey controllers anymore #So I'm end up with mismatched garish colors #An no I'm not buying knock off controllers that will likely die months down the road when Nintendo repairs their brand name ones for free #I'm hopping mad that they did this #An their Proof of Delivery is a blurry ass picture that looks nothing like any house in this neighborhood #My dad helped me walk our street and the next one over #Only one next street cause we live on the street next to the creek

We got a DVD player from goodwill for like 2 bucks so that we can watch dvds from the library in town this is a fucking game changer I'm so excited

#We got two classic who serials season one of quantum leap and the Martian movie #Going through a scifi era right now (as if I'm not always in a scifi era)#Also got some dvds from goodwill cause they were like a buck each #AND I found a book I read in middle school but forgot the name of that I'd been thinking about for years!#Not The Book that's been haunting me but it's up there #AND a new antique from the used book store #Also I found out the family that runs our used book store is also from Houston?#I got trapped in Old Southern Man conversation with the guy at the counter #Afterwards Jen told me my accent jumped out during the conversation and took like ten minutes to fade back to my normal speech which is #Interesting. I know my accent gets thicker when I talk to other southerners I wonder if there's any linguistics papers on that. Probably.#Downside to the goodwill dvd player is she doesn't have a remote so we gotta figure that out #I thought we could use the buttons on the DVD player itself but she only has. Two buttons.#The weird thing about growing up broke in the 2000s is that we jumped straight from VHS to Netflix #And I only ever watched dvds on like. My cousins ps2 or whatever. And the portable DVD player I got for Christmas one year #Our local library also has Nintendo switch games to borrow go to your library bro they kick ass

thinking about how much i fucking hate totk again, like sorry, it really tainted my entire love for the series that was literally my special interest for so long growing up

Yeah got through the main quest with the gerudo, it wasn't painful! It wasn't even bad! Still got them outfits but for the most part it was like oh cool!

I would say a lot of that oh cool is from the fact they didn't do a lot to even fuck it up to begin with, I'm gonna be real with yall this game is NOT worth $60USD

Edit: lemme say one thing, you know when people were being like damn totk story wasn't dark or mature at all why was this compared to Majora's mask again? And then all the zeldatwt people came out and said zelda is just a kid series domt expect good writing uH

This one feels like a kid's game. That ain't to say it's terrible I would say, hell I'm not far in it if I get something crazy that's like OH FUCK I'll reblog this post and say something but uh.....game for babies I'm gonna be shocked if anyone struggles with any puzzles cuz you CAN CHEESE THEM EASY ITS 🫢🤭

Sometime ago my sense of time is really off honestly #Anyway I tend to procrastinate on playing new games so for like a month it went untouched #Then I finally decided to try playing it and my Joycons weren't working??#They didn't charge they wouldn't sync to the switch they wouldn't even turn on #So I send them into Nintendo and I have to go like 2 months no Switch at all #Because I'm a broke ass pleb who ONLY has the joycons the console came with #When they finally came BACK I've forgotten the excitement for Rabbids and play mostly Animal Crossing and Splatoon 2 instead #Until my Switch starts shutting itself off from Overheating every 15 minutes #Turns out the fan in my Switch isn't running anymore???#So I call Nintendo (again) and find out to fix the console it's $100 and a risk of loosing all your save data #Soooo my dad looks up a Right to Repair video tutorial and we fix it ourselves #And that was all fine and good until I finally decide to plug in my physical copy of the Rabbids game again #(half a year after I'd originally gotten it)#And the card reader!!!!! Doesn't work!!!!!!#Because the inside of the Switch is SO small and delicate I bent something while repairing it and now the card reader isn't working!!!!#So once again it's either $100 to Nintendo and the risk of loosing save data #Or taking the thing apart and fixing it ourselves #I ended up doing neither because if I break it worse I just won't have a Switch anymore #So yeah. seriously why the fuck aren't heroes and shadow available on steam. 06 and unleashed too. they could port the adventure games onto pc, but not these other games that released on the exact same consoles and hardware as those?

#at least we've got P-06 and dolphin emulator but those aren't good enoughhh #P-06 is a fan made remaster and the responsibility for making these games available falls on sega #like okay. you can port your most popular titles but nothing in between?#I can understand why the storybook games never got ports given that they require wiimotes like that's fine whatever #I mean it's not #but porting wii games is always gonna be messy unless nintendo's doing it #and nintendos not going to do that.#argggh. I was able to get copies of (most) of these games because I already had a gamecube and wii #but not everyone HAS a gamecube or a wii. nor are either of these games being actively sold anywhere #it just really annoys me that they ported their golden children up but not the mixed/poorly received games #so there's sonic generations and the adventure games available with fucking. sonic 4 and sonic lost world #colours is at least available via ultimate but that's its own can of worms im not touching that rn #uruugghhh. I keep posting about this and deleting it cause I genuinely don't know what to do here~~~ idk what I want~~~

whether I want a bigger screen and better battery life, the ability to dock it to the tv if I wanted to (which I rarely do tbh), or portability.

I'm once again making a post about whether I want to use the switch lite or the oled~~~

had an OG switch, got sucked into buying (and paying scalpers for) a coral switch lite after I got mom one, then cause the bigger screen (and bigger screen means bigger text for my visually impaired butt) I splurged on an oled and gave mom my og switch.....

now I've got an oled switch, and a switch lite.....

I want to use the switch lite cause it's more easily portable than the oled is~~ and its 200 grams lighter~~ and has a d pad~~~ and the screen is more crisp cause it's smaller and the same resolution~~~ but the battery is garbage~~ and I paid scalpers for it during covid when the coral one was released~~~

I feel like I should use it just cause I paid scalpers for it.

also if I do this rip animal crossing island I just started
