Hey Visions Fans!!

We’ve sure got a tiny fragment of a fandom here, don’t we?

I admit, I’ve only been part of it for a few days since Season Two came out, but in that time I have managed to write and post one fan fic with another underway and plans for at least two more, so I’m definitely here to stay at this point!

We have some folks making beautiful gifsets, a few talented artists, and a Truly Massive amount of people clearly delighted by the show hyping it up as a whole or rambling over what they like best about certain episodes! And that’s all awesome!! But how many of us are actually talking to each other?

I am very much a New Kid On The Block, but I went ahead and whipped up a Discord Server for Visions, which I’d like to open up to anybody who’d like to build up our small community! I know the open invitation links expire after a week, so feel free to drop me an ask or private message if you can’t get in on the first try.

Hello, my beautiful pile 1. This full moon is asking you to understand that what did not work out for you worked for you. You are somebody who has a lot of desires and wishes. You dream big. But because you have so many things that you want to achieve you feel frustrated. From your dream list, you may be able to act upon a few of them. And what frustrates you is the fact that you have to balance between things as you're handling so much at one time. And you also feel a lot of resentment towards yourself as there are wishes on the list that you aren't able to act upon yet. See my dear pile 1 the message is that you can do anything but not EVERYTHING! You have to let go of the controlling attitude. You can't control everything that happens in your life. The reason why your wish did not come true is because God/Source was protecting you. So this full moon, work on letting go of past achievements and failures. Do one thing at a time. Focus! Communicating with your family or friends may be of help. I see that your family is always there for you. It can be blood family or your soul family. Your life is demanding you to start a new chapter but you are a bit hesitant. A thought of somebody or something important to you is stopping you from starting this new journey. Some of you may need to move out of town or start your own business. You need to heal yourself to heal the situation. This is not the time to put bandaids on the bullet holes. Do not start this journey wounded. Give yourself time to heal. Go for a vacation or do something exciting at your home. Journal about what you truly feel.

Hello, my dear pile 2. First of all, tell me how are you doing? For a minute I went silent looking at your cards. I am sorry but it pissed me off. There are serious self-worth issues here! And I mean it! It's SERIOUS! What on earth are you thinking? You're doubting the vision you have for yourself, someone you are capable of becoming in the future. I see that you also struggle with money. My heart is with you pile 2. You can be the magician of your life. But you're disappointed because people are not even appreciating all the magic you have created till now. But who needs others to validate our magic? You need to have faith in your capabilities first. Believe me when I say this, your mind is your greatest enemy right now. It's fooling you and you're letting it! Your soul, heart, and mind must be your allies, not enemies. This full moon is asking you to release the hurt that you and someone else have inflicted upon you. My advice is to surrender to the divine and have faith in his plans. Keep doing the right thing, keep performing your magic. Don't put so much pressure on your shoulders. Listen to your higher self. You already are who you think you should be. I don't know why but I am also getting the message that you need to start focusing on making yourself financially strong. This full moon you need to make a long-term plan for your career. And allow yourself to genuinely rest. Take care of your health. I mean it! God bless you.

Hello, my beautiful pile 3. So this full moon in Aries you're asked to get up from your work table and give a thought to the things that you have been ignoring. I see polarities here. Where everything seems good on the outside but is not. On the other hand, everything is good in your surroundings but your heart can't accept it. So to avoid confronting and seeing the truth of the situation you throw yourself into work. No doubt that you work hard. But now is not the time to keep working blindly as if there's nothing more to this world. Do not start a new project trying to excuse yourself. Your mind is tricking on you. This full moon ask yourself what is that you need to release. Your problem is that you do not even know what's there to release. You aren't allowing yourself to feel the hurt someone else has caused you. You can't see that your mind is tricking you. It's a coping mechanism. Your mind thinks that you won't be able to handle the truth so it is trying to put you in a delusion. It's time that you realize the truth and let it go. Forgive someone and move on. Use this time to reflect upon your life patterns and see what you're missing. There's a blessing in your cards. You are blessed. I also feel that you are very disciplined. I really admire that quality. But your subconscious needs your attention now.

( SW Visions Seasons 1&2 )

sw visions s2 review! i overall enjoyed this season more than the first, the variety in animation mediums was amazing and a lot of these were just fucking stunning to look at. thoughts and ranking under the cut:

9. sith

i have beef with this one. i think this by default takes the spot as my overall least favorite star wars visions episode across both seasons just because of how it does the dumb "you can use both the light side AND the dark side :) dont worry about it" trope. the animation is cool in some places but (likely due to disney+ deep frying the video quality?) it felt weirdly hard to look at in others. i do love the painting aesthetic but it feels the least true to the star wars spirit. i think the duel from season 1 executed the "darksider vs former sith" idea much better

8. i am your mother

this one being so low on the ranking is just a testament to how much i enjoyed all of the other episodes. i think this short succeeded fully with what it set out to do, it's just a fun story about a mother-daughter pilot duo which is great! simple and enjoyable.

7. aau's song

this one was just really adorable. i loved the aesthetic and the animation, the characters felt so.. fuzzy. huggable. really nice breather to end off a volume of really good stories. loved the visuals for the crystals and the character design for the jedi in this episode especially

6. the pit

bruh i was so fucking sad when THAT happened . i get why they did it but it felt so unfairrrrr aaaaaaaaaaaaaa. i liked the animation and character designs and this one also has some really creative visuals for the settings. but i thought the resolution to the conflict felt a little too .. easy isnt the right word for it. but i think some of the writing falls a little short in an otherwise really good story.

5. the bandits of golak

and i KNOW the people that made this were fans of tcw/rebels. (was that sabine's phoenix symbol i saw on the side of the train????). loved the dynamic between charuk and rani, i get why they had to part ways but i got sad when they did nevertheless. the texturing on the models feels very reminiscent of tcw's style and it tickled my brain <3 except i think the character designs blow tcw out of the water <333

4. journey to the dark head

FUCKING SUE ME. i loved this one. studio mir put everything and i mean EVERYTHING into the animation on this one. toul and ara are great characters and i love how they played off of each other. bichan's character design went HARD AS HELL i literally don't care if some of the story didn't make sense to me because ouhghhhhh this was just a whole MEAL for my eyes . if that makes sense. studio mir i love you

3. 2. the spy dancer

i CANNOT in good faith put this at any spot below a 2 so i guess we'll have a tie here. the animation was absolutely fucking STUNNING and the fight scenes were also, like journey into the dark head, complete and utter bangers. loi'e is probably my favorite protagonist out of all the episodes this season, just the concept for her being a performer and also a spy for the rebels is [chefs kiss]. i also do love a good ironic twist and this one Has it <3

2. screecher's reach

perhaps this one is ranked so high because it was placed right after my disappointment from episode 1 and perhaps it's because it struck such a chord within me that i truly cannot explain. daal and her friends were so cute and the colors and backgrounds were truly beautiful to look at and god. the story on this one. fully fucked me up. crazy how a story this dark and upsetting made me feel better than episode 1 but it gave me Such a level of tragic catharsis. (is that the right word for it? it's unsatisfying but on purpose and i love it) this one probably isn't going to be as high on other people's rankings but i don't care. i love it. it's dear to me.

in the stars

this one just straight up made me cry. i don't why it hit me that hard but it definitely has to count for something. this one is also really fucking beautiful to look at like the rest of my top 4 but this one has an aesthetic that lends itself really really well to the storytelling. the scene of the painting telling their mother's backstory is just.. ugh my heart. i love koten and tichina so much it's unreal. the final scene where they stared down the walker mirroring the painting made me fucking lose my mind. perhaps i was not feeling very hopeful for their fates after what happened in episode 2 but i was so happy when it did end on a happy note. also them finally seeing their mom's star in the sky.. i just.. ugh. lay me into the ground!!!!!

I think the bad batch has been set up to be killed

This week is the final week it airs alone, starting March 1 the final 6 episodes of the season will be airing on the same day as mando s3...

Tbb is going to get destroyed in viewer numbers, it's being made to compete with long awaited return of the most popular sw content disney has made, there is no way tbb-a show with a mixed reception and dramatically lower popularity-does well or comes out on top in view count and ratings, tbb needs to pull off a miracle and/or mando needs to tank unbelievably hard

And I don't think the timing of it is a coincidence, the big draw and advertisement of tbb s2 was Cody, Gungi, and Palpatine...

These have already happened, the episodes with guest appearances that would get big view numbers (and might possibly take views from mando) have all already aired before mando's premiere, and to top it off Echo has been written out of the show in a way that's very similar to typical spin-off set up, that "character leaves group to go on their own adventures" type deal

I think didney executives are looking for an excuse to kill tbb, and what better way to do that than to have it already hit its highs before forcing it to compete with their biggest money maker, and then when views drop they'll be all "oh we don't know what happened, guess people just aren't interested, no s3, show cancelled, no Echo/Rex spin off either, people didn't like tbb for reasons we can't possibly understand so they won't like this either people don't like cartoons anyways"

And that gets me to something else I'm worried about

The Death of SW animation

We've known for a long time, but became particularly aware of it last year, that executives have no respect for animation

And take that add the fact that the didney execs probably want filoni to focus all his efforts on live action stuff like mando (side rant, why is filoni the only person who heads sw animation projects? Can't we get some variety/a break from filoni's overused tropes and have other animators/creators try things with SW? We kinda have that with visions, but it's non canon), so they're probably itching to kill off SW animation and have filoni focus full time on live action stuff

I saw you post on seasons 1 through 4 of Dr. Who and I wanted to know more about your accidentally Christian pile. What are some other works do think unintentionally emphasized Christian doctrines or morals?

Ooooooh, really good question!!

So the first thing that comes to mind here is Marvel’s Agents of Shield--each season has it's own story arc and themes, so it's hard to pin down just one thing here, so I'll just talk about a few. I'll talk about the obvious one first: Season 3 in particular has a lot of Christian imagery (though in this case, it's definitely on purpose). You see a flash-forward of a cross necklace at the beginning of the season floating in a spaceship in space right before it blows up, and then you watch as that necklace get passed around from person to person, knowing that whoever ends up with it at the end of the season is going to die. I won't spoil anything more, other than to say that it results in quite a bit of Christ/crucifixion imagery and themes.

Other than this, there's a lot about the redemptive power of love (Fitzsimmons my beloved), individual guilt and how to handle it, how to let go of shame, the inevitable defeat of evil--I know there's more, but that's all I can think of off the top of my head. (AOS girlies/gents, feel free to chime in!) Additionally, one of the main characters explicitly a Christian, and while he's not portrayed perfectly, he's never ridiculed for it by the other characters or the narrative, which is a breath of fresh air. There are of course some things I don't approve of (prepare to have your skip button ready once or twice in the earlier seasons), but it's still a fantastic show, and by far the best show Marvel has ever come out with.

Harry Potter’s a pretty obvious one—Harry has to sacrifice himself and be fully willing to die to kill Voldemort, the fight with the basilisk in Chamber of Secrets has some Biblical parallels—but I’m fairly certain that these themes were deliberate, so I suppose they don’t really count. But they do to me, so 😂

Star Wars is another big one for me—of course, a la George Lucas’s original vision, SW is much more directly influenced by Buddhism, but I find that it often can’t help dipping into Christian themes. I find this is especially true with anything that has Dave Filoni’s name attached, likely because he in turn is pretty influenced by Tolkien and Lewis (Ahsoka is meant to parallel Gandalf, the World Between Worlds in Rebels was inspired by The Magician’s Nephew’s Wood Between Worlds, etc). Mandalorian season 3 in particular blew me away—baptism! Redemption! Rebirth! Mandalorian denominations/sects! Seriously, I was expecting them to come down hard on the strange rules that sect holds themselves to and for Mando to completely reject them—but they didn’t?? It was SO fascinating.

Kingdom Hearts is probably one of my favorite demonstrations of John 15:13: “greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.” Otherwise, I can’t really think of any super prevalent Christian themes I noticed, but that one is just so strong and so important to the themes of the series, I couldn’t not mention it.

Final Fantasy XV has something similar going for it—although what I’m going to say has MAJOR spoilers, so if don’t want to be spoiled, go ahead and skip this (and play the game because it’s great—but Noctis having to willingly sacrifice himself by sitting on a throne in order to purify his kingdom is as blatant as you get. For crying out loud, he’s called the One True King. However this only holds true for the base game—the dlc’s (except for Episode Prompto, but that’s just because it doesn’t really apply to that plotline, also it’s incredible) and the novel in my opinion kind of ruin it.

Legend of Zelda is an interesting one, because it is of course heavily inspired by Shinto, but a few Christian themes sort of snuck their way in there. In Skyward Sword (oh and spoilers for Skyward Sword). Hylia, though certainly not meant to be a direct Christ figure, chooses to be reborn as a Hylian (basically a human) in order to save her people. The difference here is that Zelda does not know that she’s Hylia, and she never regains her goddess status (at least presumably until she dies of old age), but it’s an interesting parallel nonetheless. Also, there’s a famously creepy cutscene in Twilight Princess where we get the story of how the Twili were banished from Hyrule for dabbling in dark magic, and the sequence has always reminded me of the Fall.

Those were just a few that I thought of off the top of my head—I’m sure there are more, but that’s all that’s coming to me at the moment 😂

Tajin’s POV

...because apparently I couldn’t stop at just one chapter...

He knew something was wrong a split second after Dan switched off his comm.

The Force rippled, like grass pushed down by an oncoming wind, and Tajin’s heart skipped a beat. He focused inwards, awareness searching along their master-padawan bond, and found his student caught in a moment of wary alarm. With good reason: something Dark stood before the boy, and Tajin found his feet moving of their own accord.

“Run-” black cloak hitting the ground, red lightsabers igniting- “Get away, Dan!”

Of course not. His student was nothing if not stubborn. Tajin could feel Dan ready himself for a fight, unwilling to flee. In anyone else, he might admire that dedication to standing fast before evil.

Anyone besides his too-young padawan.

Tajin took off at a run.

He’d been willing to split up - willing to trust that Dan would only scout the area, would call for assistance if he discovered a clue or something out of place. And the boy did so, checking in as soon as he came across the dead animal. But Tajin didn’t account for the Dark presence springing an ambush, rather than vanishing deeper into the mountains.

Echoes reached him, of rapid steps and clashing blades. They skittered and buzzed, overlaying the truly audible sound of approaching thunder. A few villagers waved as Tajin bounded around the outskirts of their home, but he couldn’t waste any time with a reply; a growing sense of danger darkness danger surged through the Force, centered firmly around his connection to Dan, his secondhand impressions of the old man with two screaming lightsabers-

 Too late

Tajin nearly tripped mid-step, shutting his eyes as he slid to a stop. Burning raced down the bond, the shock of it more jarring than anything else. Breathing deeply, Tajin took a moment to center himself, and kept moving.

He set aside the sharp flickers of Dan’s pain, sent back as much reassurance as he could: I’m coming. Stay alive, I’m coming to you. His padawan tried to respond, tried to send some sort of denial, but then another overwhelming burst of pain took Dan too far away for Tajin to reach.

And still the darkness lingered. Waiting.

The thunder continued, joined by a light rain as Tajin continued to climb. At one point he passed the three younglings who’d led Dan up into the mountains - they all gaped, startled by his rapid appearance and swift movement. Tajin only slowed for a moment to call for them to go home, then resumed his greater speed, following the dwindling light of his padawan’s presence.

Only injured, not killed. He’d only been injured, not killed.

Tajin did not let fear or panic rule his actions. He moved quickly, but mindful of each step, that he didn’t land upon a loose stone or treacherous patch of mud. He projected further reassurance at his student, whether Dan could consciously sense it or not. He slowed when he crossed the final ridge, and got a clear look at the stretch of valley below.

Short grass, bent low by the gathering moisture. A few scattered boulders, likely deposited by ancient glaciers. Two humanoid figures: one seated, one laying prone upon the ground.

At that point, Tajin took greater hold of his emotions, and breathed through them. The imprint of Dan’s distress coiled through the Force, entwined with smug satisfaction from the old man perched above him. Tajin couldn’t afford to let himself be distracted by either one.

If he lost the coming fight, it would mean death for both himself and his padawan.

“Better,” the Elder called, when Tajin stopped moving forward. “It’s been a long time since I came across an opponent so strong in the Force.”

Dan stirred when the darksider came down from his seat, casually stepping over the injured boy as one would a branch laying in their path. Tajin refused to let the indifferent gesture induce a reaction within himself.

The Elder drew forth his lightsabers, a wicked looking pair of weapons, and Tajin did the same, rain turning to steam as it hit the ignited plasma.

They both paused, studying one another.

And the Elder advanced.

A few brief, parried blows passed between them, the Force swirling with anticipation. Chuckling, the darksider grinned wide, showing off his yellowed teeth. “Yes, a worthy challenge! Oh, how I wish I had met you long ago, when I was much stronger!”

Tajin didn’t say a word. He resettled his lightsaber, and took a single step, then deliberately paused. Only when the Elder’s expression twitched with oh so slight annoyance did Tajin lunge. Their blades clashed; the Force shrieked. A grasp- a twist- and Tajin came away with one of the darksider’s weapons. He didn’t waste any time at that point, lightly tossing the saber up, and letting it come down atop his own. Two smoking halves dropped to the damp ground.

In the back of his mind, Tajin felt a brief flare of pride from Dan, but couldn’t afford to let it distract him. The Elder’s rage swelled, from a distant river to a surging wave, and sure enough-

The old man’s hand came up, twisting, channeling a Dark power Tajin had read of but never seen in person. He dodged the first blast of lightning, sweeping low as he closed in, and caught the second on his lightsaber. It tried to break free, reacting as if a living, furious thing, which only wanted to be unleashed and spread far and wide. Tajin grit his teeth, concentrating on holding the wild attack in place, preparing for the right moment to let it go-

 Now

Dan’s blue lightsaber flung through the air, propelled with the Force even as its owner remained sprawled in the grass. The Elder still managed to bat it away with his second weapon, but that moment of inattention was all Tajin needed.

He released the lightning with a hard shove, sending it over his shoulder, and dropped into a lunge to catch the Elder through his chest: a killing blow. The old man gaped, stunned by his swift defeat. Darkness rippled with impotent fury, but- it began to fade. Lightning dissipated. The Elder collapsed.

And so did Tajin’s padawan.

“Dan!” Injured, not dead- only injured, not dead- He dropped to his knees beside the boy, looking him over with both his eyes and the Force. The abrupt dimming of Dan’s presence hadn’t been death suddenly claiming him, but rather, exhaustion. Tajin got a moment to breathe through his relief, before something went click behind him.

A detonator.

Something big exploded in the distance. Tajin whipped around, heart hammering, expecting screams and death knells in the Force- but, no. Whatever blew up didn’t harm any villagers in the process. He turned to look again at the Elder, only to stare as the body crumbled into blocks of ash.

Dismayed, Tajin released a sharp breath.

He would deal with the darksider’s remains later - Dan needed help first.

Moving carefully, the Jedi pulled off his outer robe and draped it over his padawan, gently rolling Dan over while wrapping the sleeves around him. Dark burns marked where the Elder’s lightsaber had slashed; painful, but not lethal, Tajin sternly reminded himself. A calculated cruelty, injuring the student to draw forth the master.

Dan wasn’t nearly as small as he used to be, but Tajin could still pick him up and tuck the boy’s head against his shoulder. Once safely situated, he started the slow journey back down towards the village.

Even being cautious, the movement jostled Dan closer to consciousness, and at one point a small moan slipped free. “Easy,” Tajin murmured, readjusting his grip around the boy’s knees and shoulders. “Rest easy, padawan. I’ve got you. You’re going to be alright.”

Something seemed to get through, whether it was his words, his tone, or simply his presence in the Force. Dan sighed, relaxing further into Tajin’s hold, and didn’t make another sound as they continued onward.

Perhaps unsurprisingly, three small figures loitered at the bottom of the path. The instant they spotted the approaching Jedi, the younglings rushed forward, crying out. Dan twitched; Tajin swiftly shushed them. The last thing his padawan needed was to try and move before his injuries had been seen to.

The younglings stared with horror at Dan’s limp form, but one of them at least managed to collect herself enough to point out the local healer’s house. As soon as Tajin started walking, she and her friends darted off ahead of him. They reached the house far in advance, which he thanked them for, seeing as it meant the old woman met him at her door.

She tutted, pulling aside layers of cloth to get a better look at where the Elder’s lightsaber cut into Dan, charring skin and muscle alike. At least two organs had suffered damage as well, but Tajin could only be grateful the nature of their weapons meant his padawan hadn’t bled out in the time it took to reach him.

The healer guided him inside to a small examination room, patting the low table as she passed it by, heading for the cabinets that presumably held bacta, bandages, and whatever else was needed. Reluctant, Tajin nonetheless eased his padawan down, prepared to step back and let the healer do what she needed to-

Dan groaned. A small, soft sound, but it kept Tajin from moving away. Instead, he shifted closer to the boy’s head, and smoothed a hand over the loose tufts of dark hair. “Peace, padawan. We’ve reached the local healer’s home.” Another faint noise. Dan’s mind refused to relax. He wasn’t quite awake enough to open his eyes, let alone give voice to his question, but Tajin thought he could feel the shape of it through their bond-

 Ah

The boy’s hand turned over, palm up, fingers open in silent entreaty. Tajin didn’t hesitate to grasp them with his own - an equally silent promise, that he wasn’t going anywhere.

okay so a large part of me starting this blog is that i am v inspired to share my work and plans the same way a lot of knitting youtubers and knitting podcasters do so here is my humble attempt of doing it in textpost format.... this will probs be a long post so under the cut we go !

first off i wanna start off with my fall moodboard (this idea is heavily inspired by emily from high fiber knits on yt much love to her) that i just made on canva lol

i think if i were to give this one a name it would be medieval scholar autumn lol. medieval not in the riches and jewels and such way but in the cobblestones and horse drawn carriages and those white and cream buildings with dark brown wood beams all across them if you know what i mean. it's crisp weather and chilly nights and county fairs and clear blue skies and just a very vibrant autumn. the more scholarly side of it to me is hot milk tea and browns and creams and not necessarily dark academia (bc i think that has become too oversaturated and now everything qualifies as some sort of academia esque thing and i've decided that FOR ME its cringe and i dont care.) but like books and reading and stufying and studying groups because well i neeed to romanticize school because i have to do it now. now that i am taking a class and also working i really need to keep the motivation up and like. this will help bc i love pretty pictures. another thing i was heavily inspired by was this package of milk tea flavored kitkats that had a nice red and green tartan pattern on it now i don't like red and green together it always reads christmas to me but the pattern combined with the tea really spoke to me. tbh i don't know how often i would really go for this much orange i had a very specific vision in mind when making this moodboard but i feel like the aesthetic isn't fully captured, and that's okay ! i'm trying to learn and really internalize that moments are not things to have and own, and certain feelings and blips of time and that perfect slant of light, or scent of something sweet on a cool breeze, or sky just the right shade, cannot and should not be kept forever. they are there to exist and be experienced, and if they are forgotten later that's okay. it doesn't have to be owned to have mattered. all this to say that maybe the vibes aren't exactly right and i won't wear all of these on the perfect day for the perfect vibe because that doesn't exist outside of pinterest lol. on we move.

before the patterns, a disclaimer: i will not make all of these patterns, i know this. i might not even make or finish any of these patterns lmao i have work and school and while that doesn't take up all of my time, i am still a very beginner knitter (still haven't finished my first garment lol) and do not have the skills or the money or the time to invest in all of these patterns no matter how much i want to. i have other hobbies too ! and that's fine ! honestly a lot of the reason i am making this post is because i 1 love explaining my thought processes 2 i love planning stuff and 3 mmmm categorization. big fan of ravelry bundles its my jam. honestly im not even 100% tied to the idea that aesthetics and trends and seasons (in the fashion and style sense, not the natural phenomenon) are even a good thing or something that aligns with my morals and values. i just like pretty pictures and matching things around and stuff.

okay pattern 1 and the most likely one i am to cast on is the tonight top by lily kate france! i would use malabrigo sock in the colorway ivy, as i got this yarn as a gift from my friend when she was in paris <3 not much to say about this pattern in regards to what i would do with it, i just think it would be a nice way to learn some new skills and show off the beautiful green earthy yarn. and even tho it's not bright orange lol.

pattern 2 and now we're going in no particular order is the winter's pullover by ozetta. again really nothing special about this one but i do think a hand knit cozy sweater is a goal of mine just as a knitter and this one fits the bill! can never go wrong with a thick cozy sweater in fall

pattern 3 is the honeycomb cardigan by sedna yang which again, cozy cabled cardigan can't go wrong with that. do i think i will be knitting this any time soon? absolutely not. but i do think it fits the vibe very well even tho i will not be able to purchase yarn for it lol that is too expensive for me rn

pattern 4 is the romy sweater by sandnes design and tbh i'm not sold on this one. mostly picked it for the colorwork being reminiscent of the afformentioned medieval buildings with the dark wooden beams across the outside but. well i'm not sold. it does fit in as a cozy oversized sweater but idk if it's different enough from the others to really get me to wanna make it.

pattern 5 is the cadogan sweater by lily kate france and omg i do really love this design. like overall i just feel like it fits in with the vibe really well and is still modern and fun and new and feels like something i would by at a retail store so . !

pattern 6 is these tartan mitts by carolyn kern, although i wouldn't knit the mitts themselves, just use the tartan pattern and transfer them onto some different patterns, namely : the sirius skirt by charissa (which originally has a houndstooth pattern that also fits in but i have a vision in mind) as well as a sort of cape/capelet pattern as a little matching set thing. i have 2 patterns in mind for this, the butterfly cape by sj kim and the beauxbatons academy of magic capelet by dana williams-johnson. on the butterfly cape first, i love the sleeves and how they look in the photos on ravelry, but all of them include a belt and i really don't have any belts and am not a belt wearer so i'm not sure how this would really fit into my wardrobe and how often i would wear it. it looks beautiful but i'm not sure how much i would reach for it.... it also seems like the sleeves are connected to the lower body, giving it that butterfly wing shape, but that would limit movement and well. one of my goals in life and in my style is to never wear pieces that limit movement and make me more aware of how i can and can't move my body and draw my attention to how i'm moving around in life so like. there is that. now, the beauxbatons capelet is more of what i'm looking for and it looks easier to slap a pattern on there and not have too much trouble... however it is from the official harry potter knitting book which i do not support in any way shape or form. i have absolutely no qualms about pirating the book itself and taking the pattern from there, but the idea that it's connected to jkr puts me off of it a little bit. either way both of them look like they make beautiful finished objects, i just have to decide which one to make lol (if i make any at all. out of this tartan pattern mini collection i would probs make the skirt first and go from there)

pattern 10 is the agave by tricot design mcl and what drew me to this was the drawstring detail at the front. i don't think i would necessarly knit the full garment but maybe adding the detail to something like the milly skirt by sandnes garn at the bottom hem as like a little nod to the more medieval side of my plans and aesthetic.

okay finally pattern 12 is the penny gloves by petiteknit. a classic. cute. practical as gloves for when my steering wheel in my car gets cold. a fun small fall accessory when i'm not really an accessories gal.

and that's all ! in no way am i knitting all of these, this is an aspirational thing that also is mostly for my planning brain. honestly i think i might like planning out which garments to knit more than actually knitting them. either way happy knitting !

A: How did you come up with the title to [Kheresankh]?

Okay, so a lot of the culture I've created as one of the native cultures of Jedha, where Danai's from, is based heavily in Ancient Egyptian mythology. It'll be kind of a cross of Ancient Egyptian influences and canon-Jedha influences (Muslim and Jewish regions in the Middle East). There will be Far East influences as well (the Whills and Jedi), and some others, but Danai's culture is largely based in Ancient Egyptian mythology.

My hyperfixation is coming through lol

Anyway, the name for Kheresankh:

There is an Ancient Egyptian name I found - Kheredankh. It literally means "Child of Life." I modified it slightly to be Kheresankh. But overall, it means the same thing. "Child of Life." Or, more accurately, for SW, "Daughter of the Force."

I kind of ascribe to the belief that all Jedi and Force-sensitives are the Force's children in some way, not just Anakin.

K: What is the angstiest idea you've ever come up with?

Personally, I think my Crosshair fic is a genuine doozy. Ya know, where he fantasizes about a life with reader while he's lying in wait to snipe her. 😈😈😈

I've also toyed with the idea of writing a little fic about Chirrut Imwe. I've always believed that he was slightly Force-sensitive. Not enough to wield it in the way of a Jedi. But occasionally he'll feel something warm inside him, and he'll know that Baze is smiling at him. He'll feel a sudden spot of cold hovering over his shoulder and he'll know there's Imperial troops behind him. He'll get a headache when there's a storm rolling in. And a shiver up his spine when there's a warning in the air. Every once in a while, something will forcefully curl his toes, or make his finger twitch, or compel him to turn in a certain direction.

And then, right there, on the beaches of Scarif, Chirrut sees something, actually sees something. He knows from the way the actions of his sight don't match with what he's hearing that it's a vision of some kind. And in it, he sees himself. He sees his lips moving in an age-old mantra. He sees carnage around him. He can feel the desperation through it, and the acceptance of it as well. So Chirrut watches as he falls, and Baze run to him.

And Chirrut still walks out there anyway.
