In my understanding, 'decentralising' is indeed the implication by the time of the end of RotJ. The actual PT x OT saga implies that Luke will establish a New Jedi Order, but one that is very different than the Old Order of the Prequels-era. One that would NOT be located on Coruscant and would thus be more connected to the natural world and to ALL the peoples of the galaxy, not just beholden to 'the Republic' and its government. And secondly, a Jedi Order that would likewise be decentralised in the sense that Jedi younglings and padawans wouldn't necessarily have to leave their families to become Jedi, they could remain living amongst outlying communities and still learn the ways of the Force if they wanted to. Younglings could attend decentralised 'Jedi schools' and return home to their birth families each day or on a regular basis rather than be separated from them. The Jedi as a whole would be free to truly serve the Will of the Force and also free to love and have families, because the PT x OT saga proves that sometimes 'love and family' IS 'the Will of the Force!'
Just because the original post-RotJ Expanded Universe content was largely written prior to the Prequels and is perhaps not fully aligned with its themes, and just because the subsequent DIsney-era post-ROtJ ignored or actively destroyed the meaning and outcome of the whole saga doesn't mean this isn't the trajectory that the actual PT x OT saga is heading towards as of its uplifting ending of RotJ. I always found it fitting that the final shot is on Endor, a little out-of-the-way forest moon that is pretty much the antithesis of the dystopian industrialised ecumenopolis of Coruscant.
when people go like
'oh, the jedi couldn't intervene in tatooine because it was outside of the republic's jurisdiction uwu'
I'm like: do you think that's a good reason?
imagine if doctors without borders was like that. like, jedi is supposedly a non-government organisation/religious order. the good of the galaxy should not be equated to the interests of the senate and the problem is that it was.
the jedi order became corrupt when they became attached to the republic as an ideal, the senate, rather than the republic, the people
obviously, the jedi storming into somewhere like tatooine and leading a revolution would be an absolute disaster, as social change (particularly something as drastic as a revolution) needs to be bottom-up to be successful. but they could have done something. get a few jedi in contact with the slave underground, be allies and coordinators.
the jedi order loses its way because they sacrifice their morals, again and again, for the supposed 'greater good'. it's utilitarianism writ large.
a good discrete example of the jedi order's flaws is when they negotiate with the hutts for hyperspace lane access.
they know the hutts are slavers and crime lords. that's not a secret.
but, they need the hyperspace lanes For the War
the jedi order keeps peace, yes. peace for who? peace for the billions of slaves? their idea of peace seems to be to maintain the status quo, even as the status quo became increasingly toxic.
the jedi order choosing to accept the clones, choosing to fight the war, it was the easy choice. it was the wrong choice. it was the path of least resistance.
but does that make it right?
no.
think back to the delegate of 2000 meeting:
“The moral authority of the Jedi, such as it is,” Bana Breemu said, “has been spent lavishly upon war; I fear they have none left for politics.”
anyway the jedi should decentralise and help the people, not the Senate

This blog was created for loving and appreciating the character of Sam Wilson.
And while for years, we have been anticipating the next time we'll get to see Anthony Mackie on screen, playing our favourite character, and proving to everyone how he IS Captain America, this is a reminder that Captain America: Brave New World has been directly called out by the BDS movement (a nearly 20 year old movement created by Palestinians), and we have been asked to boycott it in its entirety.
A zionist settler has been cast. Disney itself has donated $2 million to Israeli relief groups.
it is incredibly saddening that we won't be able to watch one of our favourite's character's long awaited film, but our interest and love for this character, and for superheroes/comics/movies as a whole, are no where near more important then standing up alongside Palestinians, and doing all we can to help them and to listen to their requests.
Join me in boycotting the film. Pirate it if you must.

People really excited to watch Agatha All Along while wanting to boycott the Sam Wilson Captain America movie. As if both aren't made by Disney and you should be boycotting Disney+ regardless, and both don't star Zionists (psst...Aubrey Plaza is one, she literally signed the Joe Biden letter).

Retelings cliches that piss me the fuck off
Alice in Wonderland is about drugs - it could be about society, it could be about neurodivergency but no, white girl doing LSD is cooler, I guess.
♡ what if Superman was evil - then it wouldn't be Superman dumbass, like the main point of Superman is that he is a good person like it's the whole deal hyperpowerful but really good
♡actually any what if the heroes had no morals- then you are just doing Greek myths with extra steps
♡Romeo and Juliet, but one is an oppressor and the other the oppressed - Litterally, both families were in equal standing in society. Why you need to make it abusive for no reason.
♡Beauty and the beast, any reteling of beauty and the beast - no, it's not Stockholm syndrome, no a shapeshifter elf with abs doesn't count as a Beast, and Belle was a nice person In the original why everyone remakes her as a cunt.
♡my book it's just like the hunger games but...-Shut it I need you to please tell me if you understand that no, hunger games isnt just about reality television and a battle royale, I swear to God...
♡Pinocchio but it's about a robot- flower print for spring groundbreaking
♡it's inspired by the works of tolkien- no, it's a transcript of you and your group of only male friends playing dungeons and dragons while high on cheap weed at 03:00 am on the suburbs while listening to pop punk on MTV in 2003, we get it you want to bang a hot elven maiden and slain a dragon
♡is inspired by Harry potter- For the last fucking time Rowling doesn't own the concept of magic schools let go of those fucking chains and let this woman go it's a magic school book just call it that goddamn it
♡it's inspired by fairy tales - Disney version or the cultural ones because one way or the other, your childhood crush on an animated villain shouldn't be the only thing fueling your writing career.
♡it's about Greek gods...-*sigh* I don't even know where to start with those just read something other than Percy Jackson(I love percy Jackson by the way) Lore Olympus and the first page of Wikipedia on Greek mythology and then maybe spend a long time thinking if whatever you are planning to write isn't somehow more misogynistic than whatever the fuck an old Greek scholar wrote thousands of years ago okay.
♡what if (real life bigotry) was reverse - just don't for a first time writing, for someone in a privileged place in society, it's just a bad idea altogether, Dont

Here’s the other thing about MCU Doom. Avengers 5, or Avengers: Doomsday as they’re now calling it, used to be Avengers: The Kang Dynasty. Kang the Conquerer was meant to be the big bad of “the Multiverse Saga”. That was until Jonathan Majors outed himself as an abusive piece of shit and ruined his entire career. Except this isn’t like Chadwick Boseman with Black Panther. There was a much simpler solution to the problem. Just recast Kang the Conquerer. They did it with War Machine and Hulk, didn’t they? It would also be much cheaper too. Instead they chose to throw the baby out with the bathwater, making previous instalments with Kang pointless, and apparently spent $100 million to get Robert Downey Jr back to play a villain that he has no business playing in the first place.
This reveals three things to me:
This decision is an overreaction born out of desperation.
This is confirmation that there is no creative team behind these movies, but rather a tiny group of rich arseholes weaponising nostalgia in a pathetic attempt to cling to relevancy in a pop culture sphere that’s rapidly passing them by.
It speaks to how generic and bad the writing must be if it really is that easy to just swap Kang out for another popular villain and carry on as normal.

....So basically, when Disney/MCU acts like they can't pay the people who help make their films a reality next time they asked to pay said people better, we know its a fucking lie, right?

“The mcu is too afraid to embrace the goofiness of the comics”. This is true. They water down a lot of more fantastical stories and characters to make them more generic and marketable.
However they are also too afraid to embrace the maturity of other comics. They’ve watered down a lot of the more grounded and serious stories and characters to make them more generic and marketable.
They’re just too afraid to have any creative vision at all to avoid making their box office numbers drop in any way.

Ever After High is a show that talks, among other things, about how instead of telling the same stories over and over again we should create new stories, and was killed by a studio insisting on telling the same stories over and over again. In this essay I will-

Star Wars isn't a tragedy. Only the Prequels are. Disney (and most of tumblr it seems) may think all of Star Wars is supposed percieved in a sad or tragic manner, but it's not. Return of the Jedi is triumphant, redemptive, and uplifiting. It's the fairytale ending that bookends the greek tragedy. The combination of fall and then redemption of the human soul is the entire point.
Anakin is a tragic character, but the Skywalker saga itself NOT meant to be tragic, neither in its tone nor its actual outcome.

HEY FUN FACT :)
if you're not boycotting disney+ and watching the eras tour despite knowing that Disney donated $2 mil. dollars to israel and funded a literal genocide, you suck. And yes you are part of the fucking problem. Sorry that dying people aren't on your agenda and you just wanna sing to taylor swift songs because it makes you "feel things".
What's a genocide when you can see taylor in pretty costumes for the millionth time, right?
