The TERF and Zionist overlap is pretty much a circle.

Zionists (including JK Rowling because she has openly admitted to being a Zionist and opposing Palestinian liberation) being experts at genocide denial, including Holocaust denial is pretty much EXPECTED at this point.

The Holocaust is not the only genocide that JK Rowling is denying unfortunately. She also denies Israel's ongoing genocide of Palestinians, including the genocide that Israel escalated against in Palestinians in Gaza.

Not to mention, she actively supports Israel and even spread shit like the beheaded babies myth and the mass rapes myth, both of were debunked and both were shit that the apartheid regime used to escalate its genocide against Palestinians in Gaza back in October (and said genocide has been escalating RAMPANTLY over the past few months).

Plus JK Rowling has compared Palestinians and pro-Palestine activists to actual Nazis.

The fact that Zionists (and TERFs, but let's be fucking real, the overwhelming VAST majority of TERFs are ALSO Zionists who actively support the genocidal apartheid regime known as Israel (aka the 21st century Nazi Germany), including JK Rowling) are doing Holocaust revisionism in various ways, including erasing the fact that Jews were NOT the only victims that the Nazis targeted in the Holocaust, but that the Nazis also targeted Romani people, trans people, queer people, black people, Slavs (including Polish people, Russian people, Ukrainian people, Belarusian people), disabled people, Jehovah's Witnesses, trade unionists, and communists, is absolutely ZERO fucking surprise that this point.

Zionists and TERFs both have a love for denying actual genocides (especially the Nakba and of course, Israel's ongoing genocide of Palestinians) and performing actual revisionism on genocides if it is to their advantage and/or try to incite of another marginalized group such as Palestinians and/or trans people (especially the Holocaust).

Basically, I am completely unsurprised that a Zionist TERF like JK Rowling is engaging in genocide denial in general, let alone actively doing Holocaust denial because genocide denial (including Holocaust denial and Holocaust revisionism) is something that both Zionists and TERFs actively partake in without any fucking semblance of shame whatsoever.

As problematic and hypocritical as George Orwell as a person was to say the very least, I will say that the US has been INCREASINGLY Orwellian in how it has been acting in policies, surveillance, and how generally authoritarian it has been for the past few decades (I will say this rise in US authoritarianism has been occurring since the late 40s when the first Cold War happened at the very least, though I will say it became ESPECIALLY obvious for in the early 2000s and has been rampantly increasing since then, with the release of the Patriot Act and all that).

The US has been authoritarian for a long time (and anyone who is not white, male, cisgender, heterosexual, wealthy, and/or able-bodied probably knows that the US has never actually been democratic since its inception), but it should have been painfully OBVIOUS to even the average straight white cishet able-bodied male that the US has been getting increasingly more authoritarian and dare I say Orwellian since the 2000s when the War in Iraq happened and the Patriot Act became policy.

A long (and personal) rant about what’s happened at RoosterTeeth (overdue I know)

It’s taken me a while to really sit and think through this. I had more things written when I was running on raw emotion, but I’ve since dialled it back. I didn’t want my last post on here to be the last thing I say about it. So, with that out of the way;

The reality of how bad things had gotten at RoosterTeeth hit me after the layoffs, and the Black Lives Matter movement when Mica Burton expressed how she was actually treated by some people behind the scenes. I really felt for her on that one Off Topic episode.

For years, RoosterTeeth had always preached about how fun their workplace was and how they were all like a family. So many fans wanted to work there, and even though employees there themselves always said “don’t aim to work here” we still grew up watching their videos, drawing fan art, writing fanfics & idolising these people, wishing that we knew them.

Since the whole ry*n and ad*m thing, fans have been burned before, learning in one of the worst ways possible that putting these people up on a pedestal like that can go right to their heads and make them feel like they can get away with anything. How some will take advantage of their fans, the people who trusted them.

The media company that I grew up watching, their videos I watched religiously from 2012 through to 2015, it was all sunshine and rainbows, but only on the surface. If only I’d have known what was really going on this whole time. I’ve not followed RT or AH for a long time, and when I have been keeping up with some stuff, it’s been on Twitter when a new controversy arises. Which is a total shame.

I’m just glad that Ray got out of there and found his true calling in life. He’s done so well for himself after he left, married the love of his life, has 2 dogs, a home, and a career that he now has control over, getting to do what he wants and no longer feeling burnt out like he was. That fans (for the most part) respected his choice, even if they didn’t like it, realising that actually he was better off in the end.

I’m so happy that Mica has since moved on to bigger and better things, found her people over at Critical Roll, who all welcomed her with open arms, and has been on freaking Star Trek alongside her dad! Love all of that for her, and she seems genuinely happy now!

I’m glad that Kdin told her story, has forgiven people who’ve come forward and apologised for their actions and past behaviours, let everyone know who her real friends are, and called out the people who did wrong or turned a blind eye to the shit that went on and did nothing to help her.

I was happy to see people actively riot when Matt announced his job had been dissolved. When he & Jeremy first joined AH, I saw a lot of negativity towards them, generally “change bad” and “new people not funny” but they were once fans like us, who we thought were lucky to work there. Now though, they’ve seen the other side and have still stayed humble. They seem like good, genuine, down to earth people who are still so invested in the RT community. Showing their support for Kdin, Ray, Mica and everyone else who was hurt by all of this. I hope they all stream together someday!

I’m glad that Michael delivered what I thought was the most genuine apology out of everybody and that Kdin has forgiven him. He has since shown growth, not just in his words but with his actions. He’s not the same person he was when he started at AH. He’s stepped up and taken responsibility. Not everyone forgives him, not everyone sees it that way, but I’m glad Kdin does.

One of the best things that RT ever did, was hire Monty Oum. If there’s one thing that man did for me while he was there, was that he taught me to never give up. To strive for the life that I deserve, and not settle for anything less, and to be creative. Even if it means I’m not good at something first, even if it takes a lifetime. To be thankful for life in general, because you never truly know how long you have.

The only thing that really stops us is time.

I never wanted to work at RoosterTeeth, I just wanted that creative and encouraging workplace that felt like a family, where my voice was not only heard but also listened to. Where I felt valued and respected. Now I’ve found that, and I get to live that dream. After years of feeling like a failure and not having any direction or purpose, and I never take that for granted. “Not everyone gets to do what they love as their job, and there’s never a day where I forget that.” I now feel the love that I’ve craved so much and for so long. I don’t want to not exist anymore, I want to live my life knowing that Monty would be proud of me, to be proud of myself, and to do enough living for both of us.

It just saddens me that this wasn’t the true reality for some working at RoosterTeeth. The things it did give me, that I will always cherish and take away from it- good memories, ideas, inspiration, laughs, moments that got me through some of the darkest times of my life, and hope for the future. Belief in myself that I could do anything I set my mind to, and to aim beyond the stars. Let my imagination run wild and it would get me there in the end. It’s never too late, I’m not too old, I am good enough, and I’m not alone.

“You’re never fighting alone, get up, get going, I’ll meet you there.” AND,

Explaining to the Party what had went down between Eddie and Steve was not a can of worms that Steve wanted to get into, but he had to.

“Okay, hold on. Let me get this right. So you and Eddie were together, and you kept that from us, then cut us off right after you lost him, didn’t tell us that you were grieving then, and now you’re saying you know he’s down there?” Dustin ranted, his eyes wide and his face blushing red with frustration. Steve huffed, covering his face with his hands.

“Yeah. We, uh. We had those tap bracelets you and Suzie have. And I still wear it. I just…I loved him, Dustin, I couldn’t take it off.” Steve explained, his eyes pleading. “He tapped the bracelet in Morse code. He only knows SOS, and that’s what I felt. He’s out there, Dustin.” Steve begged. “We’ve gotta help him.”

The Party was convinced the Upside Down was completely closed off. El had closed the gates, Vecna had been killed, and the creatures were gone. Yet, as they searched the woods for a possible gate, they all jumped as Will let a soft noise of discomfort slip. They turned to him, seeing his hand go up to the back of his neck. Something was here.

“There’s a gate. Here. Somewhere,” Will told them, and everyone dispersed.

The only problem? They couldn’t find the gate. As soon as they got close enough, Will’s tingly feeling went away. As they moved throughout the forest, the tingly feeling on Will’s neck would come and go.

They were about to give up, Steve feeling defeated and heartbroken, when they heard the crack of a stick followed by a gasp and a few loud flaps. Steve turned, and right up in the tree above them was a creature.

It was dirty, terrifying, and honestly a bit ugly looking at it from afar. But as it got closer, climbing down the trunk like an animal, The Party noticed that it seemed much more human than they once thought.

Behind the initial sight its pointy ears, wings, fangs, and yellow eyes, they saw pale skin, bony arms and legs, and long, curly brown hair.

“Stevie?” The creature asked, head cocking in curiosity. Steve’s heart sank into his stomach.

“Eddie? Oh my God. Eddie?” Steve exclaimed, rushing toward the creature— his lover. His Eddie.

Eddie wrapped his arms around Steve, pressing his nose to Steve’s neck and inhaling through his nose sighing when he was able to smell the scent of his cologne (honey and bergamot). After all these years, his boy still looked the same.

4 Years Ago, July 8th, 1987

Eddie awoke with a gasp. Promptly, a clump of blood went into his lungs and he coughed, tears pricking his eyes.

He tried to remember who he was, or why he was here, but he just couldn’t.

He didn’t know his name, his age, or even what year it was. He couldn’t even remember what had happened to him, or what he was now.

The only thing he did notice was how damn hungry he was. So, he hunted. It was then that Vecna found him, dirty and starving by a cave.

He stretched out his hand, grinned sickeningly, and offered his assistance. Eddie had no choice but to take it.

He took on a new name, Kas. His master informed him that he’d need blood to stay alive and that he wasn’t a human like he once was. That was all he remembered about his past, that he was once human.

A year later, their underworld palace became threatened. He pulled strings in the background, took lives for his master while Vecna focused on “the girl”.

All of the efforts to save their underground world were defeated, and his master fell. Kas felt lost, left alone in the underworld without anyone to take care of him. Deep down, he was just a scared little boy.

As each year alone went on, one by one, he began to remember. Ever so often he’d catch a memory.

A laugh, a shove, a touch.

It wasn’t until he came across a run down trailer in the underworld four years later, along with a beaten up instrument, when it all hit at once.

First, a boy screaming a name. Eddie. His name. Then, in quick sequence, he was hit with an onslaught of remembrance— names, faces, voices. Memories.

He’d killed innocent people at the hands of this monster who controlled him like a puppet.

He grieved for the loss of them, of his Steve. He couldn’t even remember if anything had happened to his boy. His stomach ached for Steve, and he sobbed.

Eddie was able to escape the Upside Down the night it crumbled in on itself. There was a rip in the sky, allowing him to fly up and escape right through it. He ended up in the real Hawkins, alone in the woods to fend for himself again.

It was here he remembered what they used to communicate when they weren’t together. He pushed his sleeve up and there it was, the golden bracelet with a metal disc on the top.

He called out through the bracelet, desperate for Steve’s attention.

1991, Present Day

Once the initial shocks of finding each other were over, Steve took Eddie back to the old mansion to clean up.

Steve sat behind him and washed his hair, felt his skin, kissed his neck lovingly.

He treated Eddie like nothing had happened.

Steve curled up with Eddie that night for the first time in years. He held him tight, getting his hands anywhere he could.

Eddie took in every caress, every squeeze, every press. He’d been without it for so long, he never wanted it to end.

Steve was his person, and he was so happy to have him back.

Eddie had called, and Steve came running. He liked that a lot better than running himself.

I'm going to just rant a little bit about Player and how I personally view their character based on what we've seen in the actual game and how I perceive it, (I might be projecting with this one) From what I can tell Player has this attitude where if they can't be of service or help others, they don't think they're worth anything. Like we saw a glimpse of this during the Academy,

"Seems like your group isn't here yet."

"...this place is a mess. You might as well clean up. You took out the trash, but... There's more to do."

"Why are there random cardboard boxes scattered about? They're empty, too. They serve no purpose besides taking up unnecessary space. Nobody will miss them." This is one of the only few times we personally get a glimpse into Player as in the character, everyone is so quick to say that they're up to you to think about. When lines like these exist in game. If it was truly just us, why would we say this? Why would your avatar say that? There's no reason to say all that about cardboard boxes. To put on my analysis glasses, I believe that Player is the type of person who strives to help others to feel useful and when they can't or don't have anything else to do, they start to spiral in their head. They don't talk much, it's not just because the Blue Strings as a species, doesn't talk. But also, because Player themselves just thinks in their head a lot, it's natural for a lot of introverted people. Player again showcases the behavior of "if I can't be of service then I'm worthless" in Icyridge. Such as helping Old Man Timothy even though it's a hassle and a waste of time. No one else is that willing to help someone else for that long for not even a good reward, yet Player does it anyway. They're exhausted if we take the tone of their thoughts. They probably started doing Help Center requests after saving Anna and getting the keys, meaning that they don't even allow themselves to have a moment like Suzie or Quincy or even TJ. They're just immediately on the find to help people. I feel like the line, "They're empty, too. They serve no purpose besides taking up unnecessary space. Nobody will miss them." As if their mind telling them, if they can't do one thing, they serve no purpose and that nobody would miss them if they left. Player legit cleaned the entire Help Center just because they didn't have anything to do. Sure, it took them like 2 hours. But hey, they didn't have to clean up the place, but they did it anyway. They didn't have to, but they do it anyway because no one else will. They are hit with the fact that TJ actively wants to put them down, "It's not enough that I win. Player must also lose." All they want is just to have connection, and here's this person who they consider their friend, wanting them to lose rather than just focus on the bigger picture, (And this is why I hate TJ, blud is not justified in saying that to anyone just because he's going through something) We barely know anything about Player as is, yet they seem to mask it or hide it away whenever they're with other people. In Icyridge Part 1, the good karma choice for Quincy is, "Any time, Quincy. Friends forever." Like Player and Quincy were never the closest in the friend group, yet when on the good path. Player gets attached to the group in the same way Quincy gets attached to Suzie and TJ as they're the only genuine friends they've ever had. They genuinely just want friends, they're willing to do anything for them, even if it means risking their own life at times.

A bit of a rant and reflection

First post on this blog that is not about Sherlock.

But I can sense a new hyperfixation kicking in.

My Dad made me watch a few episodes of Agatha Christie's Hercule Poirot (1989) and now I can only think of Sir David Suchet's unique accent and his distinctive way of walking.

I vaguely remember watching it when I was ten or eleven years old but I could barely understand anything back then.

And here's another thing. I'm sort of realising this while I'm typing this but, 2024 has sort of reinstilled my love for sleuths all over again.

It started with Benoit Blanc, working its way through Sir Kenneth Branagh's portrayal of Hercule Poirot, that crack youtube channel making me fall for Sherlock for a second time in eight years and the most recent one being the Belgian detective, again.

I hope I carry my reignited fascination with detectives and the world of mystery into the new year as well.

Who knows, I may be interested in the Granada Sherlock Holmes next 🤷🏻‍♀️
