I tried to represent a feeling: that of being surrounded by people who grew up in a different way or from your point of view “better”than you. You feel confused and angry because you didn't grow up like that and maybe just a little jealous. Obviously it was a bad example to choose aliens I know, because they are obviously cooler than us humans duh.

Hello, I'm Sky/Storm!!! I graduated from college a year ago and I'm a silly Illustrator who does a wide variety of artwork, from spot illustrations to concept art, especially creature design! I also tend to make comics!

Majority of my latest works are more Sci-fi & Surreal based. If you like comics and Sci-Fi, you may be interested in a Universe that I have been developing for years, with two graphic novels in the works, AND a mini series featuring the characters from one of my future graphic novels, Astral Anomalies!

I'm moving most of my stuff to tumblr due to Ai scraping and the poor algorithm of most other social medias. Plus, I think I might have a better audience here for the type of work I make.

SOLAR MUSIC, 1955 by REMEDIOS VARO

In the rich earth tones, a figure encased in a cloak made of intertwined forest leaves pulls a musician’s bow across a beam of light that cuts through the painting. Where the heavenly ray penetrates the earth, the plants spring upwards and become green.

As the bow sweeps across the sun fingerboard, the white arcs sweep in concentric rings to reach the top of the tress’ branches. In this ‘playing’, caged birds are released from their cage as they emerge in a blaze of color.

In addition to her birds, VARO is experiencing a new form of rejuvenation. No longer driven by a need to earn a living, VARO’s new-found freedom allows her to explore her ideas in a new way. The fact that she now has “unlimited time” allows her to explore more layered painting techniques and intricate compositions, and harmony within her soul and mind.

Like the artist herself, the solitary figure works in harmony with her environment; delicately combining light and sound to create an experience of enlightenment and growth.

“brain melting situation” 🧠

Not a fan of this piece but it’s disappointing as the situation of the theme itself. Let's say I find it very sad that agencies or even simple online stores no longer accept based on your work but only on how many followers you have. Nowadays they are looking for popularity and nothing else and unfortunately in art it is the material that matters. And I'm not just talking about paintings, I'm talking about every form of art. And so that little hope of maybe making my art my permanent job vanishes because every submission form starts with "how many followers do you have?" and it's really sad. It's literally a brain-melting situation. Let's say i will prefer the classic "hey sorry but we don't like your pieces" to "hey you're not popular online so sayonara" you know? Needless to say I stopped sending portfolios around, c’est la vie 🤠

On the black mosses, in the blue reflections of the constellations, the aerial death turns into a new life that sprouts in the moist earth. It will reach out to the distant light, gaining strength, growing up and clothed in colors...
