This was a super fun experimental piece I did in 2023. I used pieces of cloth, various beads, feathers and string/yarn to make this. It was very fun to create but I wish I was more creative with the pose. Acrylic and water color paints were used as well.

"Not Real Art/Imposter Syndrome." This is a very personal piece for me, and one of the inspirations for the series I'm currently working on. The artist in the middle is me, slowly unraveling, as I feel uncomfortable among the other art.

A lot of the mediums I use are seen as inherently "feminine" or as "craft" instead of "art." How many prospectuses have I read that don't include jewelry in accepted mediums? How many shows have you been to where fiber art or textiles are mitigated to the crafts section instead of fine art? For years I felt like I was swimming upstream. I have seen a change recently at shows and galleries which has me waiting with bated breath to see if the tide is actually changing or if the light at the end of the tunnel is actually the train coming at me.

Intro Post!

hello little gay people in my computer. Consider this an intro post! I used to be on tumblr in ye olden days of like 2012-2016 but I sort of fell off of posting for one reason or another, but with the death of tiktok and the birth of nasty AI on nearly every other platform save for new ones that I'm scared of and unfamiliar with- I thought it was time for me to officially come home. I have a main acc that you will never find, but I'll be postin' art here, and probably won't be able to help but reblog art that I also like- so to keep that stuff separate I'll be tagging my art as #eddiescribs so you can sort it out from other posts! some stuff to expect here: I have a YouTube channel that I post to every Saturday at 3pm CST, so sometimes you'll get me posting there!
