Oh gosh, it'd be so awkward.

Brainstorm would constantly be fluctuating between I gotta look super cool and smart in front of my date to Chromedome knows too much and has the ability to ruin this with one anecdote oh no oh no oh no. Though I think everyone at the table is more than aware Brainstorm's eccentricities that his behavior is pretty expected.

Meanwhile Perceptor is STRUGGLING with simple small talk. He can be polite but personable? It is difficult and he'd rather be alone with Brainstorm where 1 on 1 interactions are easy and fine. Trying to find something not morose, dark or scientific to discuss is horribly difficult and he can only ask about how they are doing so many times before it becomes even more awkward.

Chromedome wants to be a good friend and not torment Brainstorm but it is so easy. He doesn't even have to really try to get a reaction out of Brainstorm who is borderline maniac in wanting this to be perfect AND enjoyable which turns out is impossible for both to be happening at the same time.

Rewind is having a blast, fancy little wine glass in hand and simply watching these three idiots try and hold a conversation. Sure, he could help, but it would interrupt the show.
