help me make a ‘superstraight’ block list!!!

I will be reblogging this post with URLs of people who identify as ‘superstraight’, which means that they are only attracted to cishet people of the opposite gender. This is a disgusting way to try and justify transphobia and to try to come across as some kind of oppressed minority.

These ‘superstraights’ are using the colors 🟧⬛️ black and orange 🟧⬛️ to represent their repulsive identities, and have been trying to insert themselves into the LGBTQIA+ community. Please help remove these people from our social spaces. Trans rights are human rights. Trans men are real men, and trans women are real women.

If you find/know of any accounts openly advocating for ‘superstraight’ beliefs, please, please let me know, and reblog this post with any URLs you find to spread awareness. Please also look out for labels such as Superbi, Supergay, Superlesbian, etc! The LGBTQIA+ community has no room for trans exclusionists. You are absolutely disgusting human beings.

Okay, but it’s not only the Supercorp fandom that is upset by this. People who have never even watched the show are getting in on it, too. Also, this is not something that you can just laugh off. You don’t just laugh off being screamed at that your ship is “never going to happen” or having your feelings about something invalidated in such a way. Katie McGrath was sitting right there and even saw that and offhandedly addressed it in a way that lets us know that she’s with us on this. It was an incredibly disrespectful thing for them to do. 

You don’t get to decide how the rest of us react to this, just because of the way YOU reacted. We are not all the same and our feelings will not be pushed aside.

What's up with Superstraights?

Guys imma be real I think the superstraight thing has a lot of good to offer. I'm not sure what they were like on tiktok, since I think the tag has been banned, and on YouTube at least they come off as still sexist/misogynistic and homophobic. But on Reddit, it's a whole different story. I'm actually flabbergasted at how many straight men I've seen vehemently defending lesbian's right to say no, gay men's right to say no, talking openly about the extreme harassment, violence, and rapes against lesbians, the destruction of women's spaces, trans rape culture. They raised $2500 for Vancouver Rape Relief!! Can you believe it? I can't believe it.

I really think that the best thing about this is that more people are going to realize just how many of us don't actually agree with TRA's. The superstraight stuff only addresses the very specific behavior of trans ppl trying to force others to sleep with them ('shame rape' is a popular term on the subreddit), but even though it's a specific issue, it opens the door to be able to talk about insane trans ideology. It absolutely makes it more acceptable in society to say that biological sex is just a reality, and pretending that it isn't doesn't work.

I'm being optimistic. Can you imagine if we no longer had to fight tooth and nail just to say biological sex is real? If it became totally normal (again) to just say 'women and men', or even 'real women and men'?

One of the top posts on r/superstraight is from a detransitioner, expressing that they hope honesty about the trans issue can help others not make the same mistake they did.

I get the feeling like people are largely mincing their words and dancing around issues on that subreddit to avoid getting it banned- i.e. calling violence against lesbians by trans identified men 'superphobia'. On the one hand, it feels awfully crude to use a somewhat satirical meme to talk about violence against women by men, while simultaneously not even referring to it as what it is: misogyny and homophobia. On the other hand, I think there's a lot of self-awareness about it. People know that they're using the words 'superphobia', 'supersexual', and all that as a cloak to be able to talk about real issues in a way that won't get them instantly kicked off reddit.

I know there were a lot of tongue-in-cheek jokes that the normies would save us from TQ+, but like... It kind of feels like there REALLY IS a place for LGB and straight people to talk about the problems of TQ+. A lot of it is really incredible!
