January 1967. I would be remiss if I neglected to point out that the other thing that happens in Catwoman's triumphant Silver Age return in SUPERMAN'S GIRL FRIEND #70–71 is that she uses the magic wand of Circe (which she just has for some reason — I guess she stole it at some point) to transform Superman into a super-cat (but not Streaky the Super-Cat). Unfortunately, the wand then runs out of magical juice before he can be restored to normal, so he spends a lot of time purring on Lois's lap and doing super-cat feats.
Luckily, Lana Lang manages to come up with a completely different one-shot magical artifact to turn him back — at which point Lois immediately becomes insanely jealous of Lana. Ah, the Silver Age …

The 1962 Superman's Girl Friend, Lois Lane Annual 1 had a competition for Lois's new hairstyle (which they waiting another 5 years before integrating). This came after decades of her wearing her hair the same way in basically every issue since her conception (occasionally changed for fancy in-story events, and gradually shortening through the golden/silver age transition). After years of constant letters to editor complaining about her "old fashioned" and "stagnant" look, they put it to a vote...
The one they went with back then (after 5 more years of her classic look):
This was the first page of her new look in Superman's Girl Friend, Lois Lane #75 (July 1967), and some other examples from Kurt Schaffenburger (resident Lois artist):
And here are some other artist's interpretations of her base style in the years that followed!
#personally I LOVE the pony tail look and think it really would have fit her personality too#I do really like the pinwheel as well and they did give her a similar style in the late 80s/early 90s!#dc comics#superman#lois lane#superman's girlfriend lois lane#silver age dc#bronze age dc

November to December 1966. Catwoman had been absent from the comics for years when the BATMAN TV show revived her in 1966. Her first actual comic book appearance in 12 years came not in BATMAN or DETECTIVE COMICS, but in SUPERMAN'S GIRL FRIEND LOIS LANE #70–71, where Selina kidnaps Lois, hypnotizes her, and makes her into a catgirl. Much to think about!

I have this issue
Perry is out busy being Senator so he puts a guy named Van Benson in charge. Van Benson is even more of a slave driver than Perry but he's handsome and single so he takes Lois out to the exclusive Kitten club where the women practically throw themselves at him. After a magic act Loid checks his glasses for damage and finds a hidden message to kill Superman. Lois Lane investigative reporter shenanigans she finds a hollow book with more evidence. Lois Lane disguise shenanigans she finds a screen in his apartment with recordings of Superman in his fortress and a meeting of SKUL (Superman Killers Underground League) where they melt candles figures of Superman and his pals and have a life size statue of Superman. She tries to get Superman's help but Clark offers since Superman's out of town Lois Lane dumbass in distress shenanigans she decides to get Superman to come by jumping out a window Clark tells her to start acting her age and not to gamble her life then as Superman tries to teach her a lesson by not personally saving her but making it look like she just happened to survive by landing in a convenient tomato truck. More Lois Lane disguise shenanigans she uses alien souvenir tech to get a job at the Kitten club as a magician to do some more spying and infiltrate the meeting. At the meeting through light it turns their yellow sheets into skeletons except for Van Benson's who's red and they throw kryptonite at the Superman figure and of course Lois gets chosen to kill him. (there's a coloring error here where Lois skeleton is red) Lois with Lana's help decodes the message and is about to run a nationwide newspaper to warn Superman that he is in trouble since both he and Jimmy are out of town. Then Superman comes in the room calling them both dumb for not thinking almost ruining his plans to foil SKUL or figuring out Clark Kent is really Superman. Lana says that's nonsense they've always suspected it then Clark says that's because of the physical resemblance appearances can be deceiving Kent isn't Superman and neither is he since he's actually an Benson in disguise. He knew Lois was in disguise at the meeting and he is actually an undercover agent of the FBI to get SKUL. They're both in too deep now so they'll have to all work together in the next issue which is only an eight page mini story cause Lawless Lois is the main plot.
Van Benson says he's working undercover for both Superman and the FBI Perry arranged it all to find SKUL's weapon X to use incase Superman is destroyed. Van Benson dons famous people disguises and wastes time giving them to Lana and Lois. Van Benson arranges another meeting with SKUL where Lois will wear the signal watch Lois wishes it were an engagement ring. At the meeting when the lights hit Lois's costume didn't turn into a skeleton and she's outed. Van Benson tells them not to hurt her as he used his skills to make her look like Lois to get close to Superman to destroy him with weapon X. Lois goes to the secret location to pick up weapon X then at the Kitten club sees Superman on stage and shoots him. It appears he's been split in two and the Lady of the Lash douses them in knock out gas and has them taken away. Lois accuses Can Benson of tricking her when The Lady of the Lash reveals she's the actual leader then Van Benson he rakes off his disguise to reveal the real Superman who takes her under arrest. His X ray vision showed him the intent of weapon X so he destroyed it with his heat vision then went undercover as Van Benson to get her to confess. She doesn't think he's the real thing and pulls out a gun but the bullets bounce off him then declares she's done nothing wrong to be put in jail Superman points out she tried just tried to kill him. Then she pulls out weapon Y but Lois uses the knock out gas whip on her. Back at the Planet Van Benson has to leave on a new job and Perry returns from Congress. Van Benson tells Lois he'll miss her and Lois hopes Van Benson will return and she won't get too fed up with meek mild mannered Clark Kent.
