i couldn't for the life of me find it again but i saw this really great post about how rex seems like he has BPD or a cluster b personality and i totally agree and i feel like it fits into markrex quite well for a few reasons. when rex first sees mark and eve arriving together, he has a really dramatically negative reaction even after eve tells him they go to the same high school. i feel like this scene highlights how rex is really insecure about himself and the relationship, and that eve merely being around an attractive guy like mark makes him feel really threatened. he also later makes fun of mark, which isn't abnormal for him but i feel like was to try and make himself feel better about the situation and the perceived rejection he's probably feeling from eve. and when they contain to hang out it made rex feel even worse, so he decides to self sabotage by cheating with kate. and the line kate says to eve is also really telling IMO, because we know he wasn't telling the truth but the fact that he would say she's dating invincible now means he could feel as if that might as well be true, because of a perceived abandonment of him by eve for mark. and for markrex, i think this could also show that rex is insecure about his attraction to mark as well, and probably feels inferior to him.

i did a lil more reading and digging about it the clusters in BPD and i totally see what you mean.

ik it's not canon that rex has BPD but it would be so interesting to have that type of rep in the show.

also, thank you for listing out the moments those are really still fresh in my mind cause i've started to ship markrex even then.

all of rex's appearances and moments are memorable tbh. and it is highlighted with how he reacts with the things around him (as you listed this includes his dramatic moments, his jealousy, possible feelings of inferiority, and his self-sabotaging ways).

these things does add a certain interesting aspects about markrex's dynamic. and the s2 ep1 is such a blessing tbh.

because in s1 we see markrex in a not-so positive light considering there were moments rex was mean to mark. but mark never really took any of it to heart. which, btw, bless. it speaks how mature mark is and i think it'll be a really good balance with rex's immaturity.

now with their moment on s2ep1, it's such a good change to see them interact this way. you wouldn't think that rex would comfort him — if anything, i genuinely thought the writers would have black samson comforting invincible — but rex was genuine about it. sure it wasn't the most comforting or eloquent reassurance, but it was a genuine attempt coming from rex.

i do have a lil fic in the works for it btw hehe, but that's for another time.

personally i'm looking forward for more markrex interactions. i think they can balance each other really well, the blue-red aesthetic is there too, and the one-sided rivalry to allies to friends to lovers arc is my jammmm 🫶

First of all, no, they do not know abt the askbox thing. Let's pretend a tiny Child of Sardior is currently spying on them to report the best answers possible ;P

Now let's talk about the Royal Koopa Family! They are doing well!

Currently, they are on a vacantion on Isle Delfino! King Bowser decided it was the right time for a break - considering it was getting too hot even on his Dark Lands - and literally grabbed his children, Kamek and a bunch of loyal personal guards and went to the Isle. They are currently staying at Bowser's private Hotel, Sunshine Resort, located on Sirena Beach - the Hotels and Resorts area of the island.

Except made for the troop of guards, that are currently "at work", everybody is relaxing or trying to do so.

Bowser first. No royal burocracy, no responsabilities for a while - he left a council of his most loyal generals and counselors at his main castle - and he can finally chill under the beach umbrella reading the News, eating out in fancy restaurants all around Delfino and sleepng sweet dreams without thinking about the Human Plumbers or conquest plans and so on for a while. To be sure none will disturb his weeks off, he decided to rent a whole piece of beach only for his family. Is it even legal? The King of the Koopa doesn't care.

Then we have Kamek, who is unfortunately the one that can't really relax for real: being one of the main caretaker of the little Prince Bowser Jr. - but also of the others, even if the older ones are actively trying to ignore this fact - he needs to keep an eye on the small Dragon-Turtle even when at the beach or visiting the various cities. Still, our old Magikoopa is still grateful to be able to sleep 8-hours with the air-conditioning of the Resort.

Now, the kids! (Ludwig and Roy would eat me alive for calling them "kids")

Ludwig is chilling. Like, he decided that "chilling" would be his whole purpose of this vacantion. Being normally nervous and easily irritated at the castle and around his siblings, this time our young multifaceted artist is imposing upon himself to only do things he feels to, and not, like always, all the tasks that he MUST do. He's basically spending these days under the umbrella, talking to his gf on his phone, going out at night with Wendy and Roy when they want to visit the local markets near the beach, playing his favorite violin in his room when outside is too hot and so on. Chillin', yknow?

Lemmy, on the other hand, is enjoying his staying and suffering at the same time for the extreme humid temperature. Probably at the main castle the temperature was way hotter, but Lemmy can't really stand humidity, and summer season in general. But he likes to go swimming, playing pranks on tourists with Iggy and trying every type of ice creams he can find - and Larry and Morton will happily help him finish the ones his belly can't take anymore, since Lemmy tends to buy way more food than he can actually eat. He also loves the fancy restaurants Bowser is taking them every two days, especially since he only packed cool and elegan outfits in his bag, maybe trying to forget about how hot it was. Oh, and he also LOVES Pinna Park, especially the Yoshi Go-Round and the Rollercoaster, and has started to bring there Junior with him to have an official excuse to ride the rides for kids.

Roy brought his motorbike with him, even just to complete his "bad boy appearance". He's actually the one driving his siblings around the Isle when they don't feel to take the public transports - busses are REALLY crowded in this time of the year and... some of the royal brats feel too royal and "superior" to take them anyway, right Lud and Wendy? Except for that, he's mostly competing with Wendy in swimming races, going around at night to find some disco open to teens, and collecting shades at the various markets for his evergrowing sunglasses collection. And he's the one with Morton that is suffering less for the heat, due his constitution and the fact that he's used to the desert heat.

Iggy feels at home with all this humidity filling the hair, but the aggressive reflection from the sun forced him to work on a special shades-version of his already customized spectacles before embargin on the conquest of this vacantion. He also made them star shaped because *fancy*. He also tried to cover himself with all the garlands of flowers he could find at the markets in their first day, and instantly bought the biggest hat he saw for sale. He has his own idea of fancy. His chilling-and-pranking times alternate with researches on the local flora and fauna - if Iggy disappears during the afternoon, don't worry, he probably went studying fishes and birds and monsters and trees and flowers only found on the Isle Delfino. He also brought his pet Charlie the Chain-Chomp with him, to the *delight* of the other guests of the Sunshine Resort.

Wendy is living her best life. She loves going on vacantions and she especially loves to go shopping on vacantions. Her favorite places are the markets all around the seaside cities along with the world-famous Coconut Mall, and she's already ordering enough summer clothes and new forniture to renovate and redecorate her own bedroom at Bowser's Castle. But she's a very good swimmer and loves the sea, and she's very excited to go swimming in something that is not a super hot pool inside the castle or at the ash-gray beaches and tumultuous sea of the Dark Lands. She's also updating her followers on Koopagram almost everyday, especially is she finds something pretty or cool to take a photo with - a beautiful monument, a fancy ice cream, an unsuspecting well-dressed tourist...

Morton is quite content for the break. Even if his older siblings are taking a bit of advantage of him - for example, always asking him to carry their luggage - he doesn't really mind. He knows he's going to spend these weeks with Larry and Junior mostly, helping Kamek keeping an eye on them on one hand and having fun with them on the other hand - eating at the weirdest local restaurants and trying the most-gigantic ice creams on the Isle. He also follows Lemmy and Jr. at the Pinna Park time to time, not because he's too interested in the rides but mostly 'cause they need a tall sibling that looks big enough to let them ride the most dangerous rides without questions by the staff. When he's not spending time with the younger (or shorter) siblings, he go swimming with Roy and Wendy or keep company to Iggy in his scientific researches - and while the green-shelled brother takes photos, samples and notes, Morton has started collecting the most perfectly shaped, beautifully colored and shiny rocks he can find, for his own pleasure and to show Junior, too.

Larry here! Larry is spending his mornings creating the best sandcastles he ever made, and turning them into magical glass/crystal sculptures with his azure breath. Since he found out he could try this out he insisted for months to go to Isle Delfino on vacantion, winning over Lord Bowser at the end with great displeasure of Lemmy, who wanted to visit a colder place or at least going hiking around the tallest mountains they could find. When at the beach, after creating a whole crystal city with Jr., the light-blue Royal Koopa posts photos of his creations on Koopagram - he recently was allowed to create an account, under the name of Darkdiscokoopaxx, even if he only has 3 followers at the moment, two of wich are his siblings and one is Princess Peach after he spammed her tons of DMs asking for her official page's follow. Then he goes swimming, always bringing with him his inflatable donut not because he can't swim - he's actually a decent swimmer - but because he can use it as a chair as soon he's too tired to move his arms. Larry is also enjoying the sort-of-freedom Bowser gives him and his siblings dring the afternoon, and is trying out all the junk food and weird soda he can find, along with his brother Morton.

In the end, Bowser Junior is a kid in vacantion being a kid in vacantion. It's not easy to always act as the Prince of the Koopas and the official Heir to the Dark Lands throne, you know? He's enjoying playing with the sand, trying to learn how to swim properly without water wings - he *can* sort of swim already, but... he feels much safer with them, especially when in open sea and not in a pool - eating cookies under the beach umbrella, painting on the beach during sunset like a Real ArtistTM (jokes aside, he's quite good for his age!), convincing his dad to buy him toys and souvenirs, eating lot of chips with Larry when Kamek isn't watching, riding the backseat of Roy's motorbike too when Kamek isn't watching again, and riding rides too dangerous for the average kid of his age - but not for a Dragon-Turtle, to be honest - when neither Kamek or Bowser are watching. He's enjoying his staying a lot! Oh, especially when, at the end of their second week of vacantion, he bumped into Princess Toadstool herself, with her guards and her friends. But this is another story.

summer series — (Ted Lasso, Jamie/Roy, Post S3, Dom/sub, Getting together)

“I would kiss you, obviously. I’d ask first, because I want to hear you say it.” “Because you want to hear me say it,” Roy asks, “or because you want me to tell you what to do?”

This fic is like. THE definition of "I wrote this for myself but you guys can read it too." I will freely admit that it’s a bit of a mess and probably under-edited but I have SO much fondness for it. I wanted to write team slice of life on adventures AND Roy/Jamie get together AND kinky fic and I combined all of it and it probably feels pretty disjointed overall (or it does to my critical eye?) and I can’t help but think I should’ve gone in harder on the kink. But even with all the nitpicks, I had SO much fun writing it.

One of my favourite things to do in Ted Lasso fic is to take football premises that are barely there and write a whole fic out of them (hey, Tolkien did it with LOTR and Elvish!) and it’s just so much fun. To me. Another of my favourite things to do is to take throwaway unhinged RoyJamie lines and make a whole Thing out of it, and Jamie being like 👉👈 Coach can I have a beer? 🥺 was as unhinged as it gets.

The end result is one of the most self-indulgent things I’ve ever written I think, and I had so much fun brainstorming it with fandom pals, and I’m just !!!! A bit overwhelmed with fondness every time I think about the process of writing this.

My favourite part to write, by far, were the throaway team scenes + all the bits where there’s an intense RJ eyefucking moment happening and Beard is just There. And then he excuses himself and doesn’t say a word. Anyway, I could write like five different fics that are just riffs on this.

Across the table, Jeff winks cheerfully and starts giving him shit for sleeping in even after he left early last night. “Was she fit, at least?” he says, so loud that everyone on their side of the table turns to look, half a dozen idiots all wagging their eyebrows. “I didn’t! Just went to sleep, swear down.” Dec nods to himself like he cracked it. “So it was a shit fuck.” Bumbercatch snaps his fingers. Points in Jamie’s direction. “Maybe he was the shit fuck.” “Your mum’s a shit fuck, mate,” Jamie says, even though Janet’s lovely and probably a brilliant shag.

There’s something about writing himbo athletes. It makes me HAPPY.

Anyway!!! Let me give you the shortest possible rundown of my ocs as I try not to die in the process:

This is Grisha. He’s a bitch and can see dead people but it’s not a good thing. Chronically ill because of the dead people thing and has Some Issues regarding religion. Suffers of the godforsaken combination of “too many trust issues” x “very desperate for human connection”. God’s little chew toy and very painfully aware of it

This is Felix. He tries to be cool but is actually just some guy (and a kinda lame one at that but in a good way, at least). Has some deep-seated issues regarding himself and his sense of identity after years of pretending to be someone he isn’t for people that were never all that worth it but surely this won’t ever come back to bite him in the ass at some point. Neither will the fact he keeps running away from the past. Very emotionally congested but acts like he’s alright and chilling. Loves his daughter and is a true doñita at heart. Also he’s half ecuadorian which is important to mention to Me, an ecuadorian

This is Laura. She’s as close as we get to the only normal person in the cast but if anything she’s just the Least fucked up one. Constantly stressed and an overachiever. Enough caffeine in her blood to kill a horse. She does a good job at making people respect her but also she’s a girlfailure at heart. Not nearly enough social skills which is why her best friend is the only other guy in the office who doesn’t have friends either. Needs a hug and a nap but is too proud to ask for any of those. Doesn’t believe in the supernatural at all so she feels like everyone around her is pulling an incredibly elaborate prank to which she doesn’t get the punchline

This is Viktoria. She’s a bodyguard and a trained assassin since childhood. Feels incredibly disconnected from her emotions due to this that when they hit her on like a random tuesday at 3 AM she doesn’t know what to do. Feels more like a tool than a person and is so used to people not actually paying attention to her as a human being that when someone does she’s too awkward to keep the interaction going. Can and will kill you but she just wants to retire at this point. Tough and terrifying but also kinda lame but she’s allowed to be. As a treat

This is Cain. He’s a priest but he doesn’t actually believe in God, at least not in the orthodox way. Only reason he has the job is that they found him outside the church like a kitten in a wet box and decided to take him in, and the only reason he keeps the job is that somehow he’s good enough at it that more people join the church. A huge asshole so people either genuinely like having him around or just put up with him. Can also see dead people but it’s not nearly as catastrophic as Grisha’s case. Also incapable of forming healthy connections with people but that’s a problem he refuses to unpack

This is Gabrijel. He’s a millionaire and a model and a celebrity and a philantropist and a cult leader but the public is unaware of only one (1) of those things, and you can probably guess which one. Manipulative and cunning and overall a pretty terrible guy but charismatic enough for people to think there’s nothing wrong with him. Completely derranged but composed enough….until he Isn’t. Viktoria can’t stand him and anyone that works directly under him doesn’t like him but he’s too pretty to be bothered I suppose. Wants to bring literal Hell onto the world bc he thinks he’s Jesus or something bigger. Wouldn’t want him to haunt the narrative or anything, that would suck

The very general plot is that a bunch of people are being murdered. Grisha and Laura investigate it. Felix gets involved because he knew one of the victims and has mysteriously large amounts of information. Gabrijel is responsible for it and it’s all linked to his evil plan(TM). He first tasks Viktoria with killing them but Viktoria is done with his shit so she acts as a double agent for him and for Laura so she can Maybe get a day of peace in her life for once. Everything goes to shit at some point but I can talk abt it later since I feel like this is already too convoluted(?). And Cain is just There for the drama of it all ig

Hmm. I always get kind of apprehensive about these questions, as though I'm entering into some kind of pact instead of poasting on my blog. I'm just going to go with 3 of my currently most-rewatched. Annihilation, The Wicker Man, In The Earth. There's a theme, huh.

4. what’s an inside joke you have with your family or friends?

The first actual house some of my roommates and I rented, back in 2015-16, was a real piece of shit. The bathroom caulking had all this brown stuff on it, and I wanted to know if it was mold--if we needed to be concerned. So I went to ask siri to google it for me. Crucially, what I said aloud was "Brown spots on caulk." You can imagine. Caulk mentions in our household are forever a reminder of that.

11. what do you consider to be romance?

Oh gosh. Making time for one another. Communication. Flowers. A healthy mutual interest in the sublime. Learning what positive touch means for each other. The ocean at night. Jazz in the summer. Eating together. Blood (in certain contexts).

25. fave season and why?

I have accepted that for me personally it is now summer, not autumn. The heat can be hard to endure when it spikes, but I love the fullness of growing things, long days and slow nights, green green green, thunderstorms...

A: Of the fanfic you’ve written, which is your favorite and why?

Genuinely can't choose, but this one has a special place in my heart and I haven't brought it up this game so far. Dublin Murder Squad series, post book 1, some supernatural elements and fairy folklore, and I had a great time trying to recreate the narrative voice of the book

K: Do you have a guilty pleasures in fic (reading or writing)?

I feel like I'm pretty straightforward in owning up to what I like, but I probably don't talk enough on main about my undying love for Peggy Sure fics (time travel into body of past self!!!) and amnesia fics (medical accuracy WHOMST). I also have read and enjoyed thoroughly the worst filth you can imagine. Like, whatever you're thinking "this is the grossest kinkiest most hardcore fic in existence", I've probably read worse (where "worse" is a feature, not a bug). I'm always happy to give recs if asked. Call me the smut whisperer.

N: Any fic ideas brewing that you’d care to share?

(speedruns my ask backlog) i unfortunately don't!!!!!! :(( was notoriously camera shy during my teens due to all the. self harm lmao & this was pre-smartphones (well. 2010 but i was poor) but if you want 2 recreate the look i can tell you the secret recipe: be 14 with no idea how tf hair dye works. have a friend slap (1) package of regular blond on ur dark hair that needs at least 3 for its length and then use the metallic pink (might have been more metallic red, actually, given the time) this is nothing. looks like shit. have ur mom freak tf out about it and try to salvage it by just slapping two more packs of the metallic dye over the mess you made. THIS SUDDENLY BECOMES THE HOTTEST LOOK YOU'LL EVER HAVE bc due to the weird half-taken blond on top it turned into this absolutely sick light-to dark redpink gradient. i tried to recreate it a year later when it had grown out a little but it never looked as nice as that happy accident. it did get me into a longterm relationship tho so absolutely worth lol
