𝔾𝕣𝕖𝕘𝕠𝕣𝕪 𝕍𝕚𝕠𝕝𝕖𝕥 𝕩 𝕣𝕖𝕒𝕕𝕖𝕣: 𝙳𝚘𝚖𝚎𝚜𝚝𝚒𝚌 𝚕𝚒𝚏𝚎 ☕︎
CW: Gender neutral reader, pure fluff with a little bit of angst! Hope you like it 🖤 !!
✧ Living alongside Gregory is like watching a cat warm up to you slowly, he will start interacting more, showing you his art and explaining them in detail (trusting that you won't make fun of it)
✧ At first, he will be a bit anxious about showing his face without makeup and being without his hood since they're both like a protective layer for him. But, little by little he will notice that you if you stare at him, it's to admire his beauty, and not because you're picking apart his features
✧ He is a quiet and pleasant company, always has a random comment here and there that might be entertaining or a little off-pocket (probably both)
✧ He will be happy to help with chores, even though he might not have a lot of experience (considering he is a rich kid and probably had a maid do it for him lol)
✧ Definitely more active in the night, he will like to stare out of the window while drinking a cup of tea, observing how the sky changes its hue as the time goes on, especially when it's raining, rain comforts him
✧ In dark stormy nights, before you sleep— he’ll shine a flashlight on his face and tell you horror stories, smirking when you shriek at a particular grim moment
✧ He is mostly dressed in hoodies, sweaters and sweatpants, even though he values style, comfort is also a must for him
✧ Once he warms up to you, he will let you paint his nails while ranting about the weights of his job as prefect, and you'll be happy to comfort him
✧ In the summer, he is way more vocal since the weather feels like death to him, he will feel dizzy when he gets home after being out in the sun for hours and sometimes you worry that he will faint right in front of you. Thankfully, he has you to check up on him
✧ Alternatively, winter and autumn (especially, since he loves Halloween) are his favorites, since he can wear his favorite outfits that cover more of his body and the weather is not aggravating to him. It's often that you'll see him wrapped up in a blanket like a burrito while drawing— quite a cute scene
✧ You take care of him and check up on him a lot because of his weak constitution. But, when you're the one feeling sick, he is way more worried than you, fretting about how you need to eat well and rest. He might even take a day off school to take care of you
✧ The funniest part of the day is when he walks behind you with light steps, not even making any effort in spooking you (a common occurrence)..only to wrap his cold hands around your waist, and you can notice that he is smiling from the way his usual monotone tone changes
✧ He will definitely leave little doodles around on post-its and on the refrigerator, either to just joke around, show a new doodle or just reminders
✧ Unfortunately, nightmares are a common occurrence for him and sometimes he will wake up sobbing. He will try telling you he is okay and that it’s nothing— but once you wrap your arms around him, you can feel him slowly hug back, clutching on you like you're his lifeline as the tears fall down on the crook of your arm
✧ Life with him is comfortable, fun and full of surprises, even though he is quiet, he will always listen to your problems and give good advice (particularly blunt ones). He is someone you can count on during tough times, even if he doesn't show it in his face, it's clear he truly loves you

Guten tag! I was just wondering, in your clexa au’s minus the canon one, what are each of Clarke and Lexas lockscreen?
Ooo German that's so fun 😀 I always think it's so mind blowing finding out where people are from all over the world. It's surreal, in a wonderful way 💕
Ok so, I thought a lot about this
MBFW: depends on when you were to look at it. If we're talking Lexa in the friendship era, generally it's a picture of whatever was the last time they were together, so generally a holiday photo or a pic of them on some beach: heads pressed together and sunglasses perfectly dipped to "make it fashion💅". Maybe the occasional stolen pic of Clarke napping on her chest. Ya know. Totally normal friend things... If we're talking marriage era, then it's always a family picture. A selfie style shot with Clarke and the kids flaked out on the couch for movie night in the background. A Griffin-Woods gang lineup of them hanging out by the pool on a summer day. Everybody in matching reindeer pajamas, standing in front of their Christmas tree loaded with presents. A very bizarre tablue of characters depicting everyone dressed up for trick-or-treating. That kind of thing. Lexa loves keeping stuff like that as her lockscreen cuz not only can she look at them any time she has to travel, but it's an excellent excuse to show off her little family so easily 😌
For Clarke, it is always Lexa. Always. Friendship era, family era, whatever. It's Lexa in some shape or form. Their kids always have a place on her homescreen, but Lexa has her lockscreen all to her own. That's her wife and her best friend in the entire world, always has been. That's her other half, and she had to spend an obnoxiously long time waiting for her, so she's damn well gonna look at that face any time she feels like it 😤
AWTR: Lexa had a flip phone because she was an 85 year old woman stuck in a 23 year old's body 🥴
Clarke keeps one of their wedding reception photos as it for a long while. A candid moment Monty had snapped when Clarke was laughing at something just out of frame, but all Lexa had eyes for was her. She looked happy. And very much in love with Clarke, for some inexplicable reason. They have classier ones from that day, but Clarke liked that one in particular a lot. For awhile after that it was the picture Raven took of them together that night when they'd hung out with the delinquents, when Lexa had held her and kissed her neck as a tipsy Clarke just relished in the closeness. Breathing in the way Lexa's hair smelled like shampoo and autumn bonfire smoke. Clarke liked that one too, enough that it gets framed and hung up in her house wherever she goes. But as time goes on she does evenly decide it's ok to choose other things. Pictures of art pieces that move her mostly, sometimes snapshots from her travels.
Demon au: Canot stress enough how little neither of them would care lol. If anything, Lexa would put something entirely inappropriate and private enough to have a once-human Clarke turning 10 shades of red. But as it is, Clarke would just find her ridiculous girlfriend funny and just so fucking Lexa, and thus try to give her something sinfully new to change it too next 😏
Cruel Intentions: they're disgusting. It's all very sappy. Always pictures of them kissing, if them wrapped up in each other's arms, of them draped over each other in bed. They have no filter and no fucks to give. But that's also how Clarke always knows if Lexa is annoyed with her about something and just not talking about it. Because if she sees her wife has replaced her with that godless chicken she pretends is a cat, she knows she's fucked up somewhere.
CoA: Clarke is functionally allergic to caring about her phone. She's busy, she works on computers a decent amount and spends her days with tiny patients, so when she's home she just wants to be home. Her phone is like... a tool in her mind. It's just the square in her pocket that she googles actors names on and that Raven uses to harrass her through text messages and that she can use to track down her wife around the hospital to see of she's free to go to lunch. So it's pretty much the same picture of them together on her couch (and the one of Lexa stretched out naked and asleep in their bed as the wallpaper) for several years until the women in her life start giving her shit for never changing it, and then it gets replaced by a new one of Lexa or both of them. Rinse and repeat every few years when she gets bored of hearing about it.
Lexa changes hers too often to narrow it down. Anything that feels fun in the moment. A pretty landscape. Clarke's face. A waterfall they saw on vacation. Clarke's face. A piece of architecture or art that makes her feel something. Clarke's face and a tasteful hint of her breasts. Her interests vary, you understand. She contains multitudes.

Next up for Cartoon Network era of shows, who is your favorite character from each of the mid-late 2010s Dimensional era (shame they didn't get the best treatment and exposure on the channel, being the point when Cartoon Network was overplaying Teen Titans Go and pushing most other shows to the side) shows you've seen like: We Bare Bears, The Powerpuff Girls 2016, Mighty Magiswords, Ben 10 2017, OK KO Let's Be Heroes, Apple & Onion, Craig of the Creek, and Summer Camp Island?
We Bare Bears: Ice Bear though I loved them all. And as for thoughts, I really need to go back and watch all of this show as it was really good. Relaly solid. I think I just was in that hole of "If the status quo dosen't change I dont like it" which is still mostly true, it is kinda annoying to have a series long arc of someone wants to get a girlfriend with panda and not.. doing anything with that. But it's very clearly mostly slice of life shenanigans. ALso seems to have ended well
PPG: SIlico as he seems neat.. but I watched maybe one episode of this. I wasn't intrested, everything I heard was bad and looking back it seems half assed.
Mighty Magiswords: Yet another one from this era (and the last) I need to go back to, a true classic. Character wise I love Porhias for his voice and whole vibe. Though Vambre's legs will always have a place in my heart... moving on.
Ben 10 Reboot: Kevin having a bootleg omnitrix. This one I didn't see much of and while I may watch it some day for completions sake... it seems mid. Not as messy as ultimate or omniverse with some growth and really intresting ideas, but not nearly as intresting as the og or alien force seasons 1 and 2. It's firmly in the middle: trying hard to be funnier, inoffensive, but as bad as omniverse could get in it's worst moments... it had ambition. 2016 takes a much needed fresh start and just kinda... does a weaker version of the first show without the charm or real stakes or neat jack kirby-esque art style.
OK KO Let's Be Heroes: It's like asking me to pick my children you monster. But i'd have to go with Professor Venemous. He's a compelling villian, and while I feel we coudl've gotten more post shadowy figure takeover out of him (and may give him just that some day), he's an intresting villian whose bisexual as hell, clever and whose motivatoin and history with characters is great. The cast as a whole is though as this is the best show of the bunch here, though it has close compettition and you can probably guess who. It's fun, has well done character arcs, great action at a time Cartoon Network hated doing acction scnees (it's why SU got the shit end of the stick for a while and why this show ultimately did not last) and ended on one hell of a final episode (The actual climax is mixed but still pretty good given the time constraints). An all time classic and one of the best show's cn's put out and certainly one of my faviorites.
Apple and Onion: Onion, though ti's bittersweet given the whole Grahm Lihean thing. God dammit richard. A great show I wish i'd watched more of, really sweet and chill and like most of these as you pointed out , given the short end of the stick for teen titans not for me.
Craig of the Creek: Another all time faviorite and one I need to watch more of including the full story arc. But what i've seen of the story arc is excellent and the show as a whole is great, the recess successor I didn't know I wanted. It's still largely i'ts own thing but it's hard not ot see "Kids in their own elabroate clicks with terriotirY" and not think recess, but going way bigger than it's more grounded cousin. It's still clear most fantasy stuff is just the kids imaginations, but it dosen't hold back a fantastic show with a stacked roster of characters, a truly great world that just gets better and better, and a lot of nice character growth and moments. I'm not ready for it to end and boo HBO MAx for not wanting one of thier most succesful shows to go on. Favorite is JP. Eaisly. he's the boy.
Summer Camp Island: I"ve barely seen any of it I hear it's great and once again they screwed it over badly.

Start your year with DCLA!
Is there a better way to start your year? From January 1st-January 31st, one prompt each day, will be focused on DCLA. While some will be focused on new years or january themes, some days will just be more generic.
These prompts can be used for writing, but also for art, or whatever you wanna do!
Now, here are the prompts. I struggled so much with making a good poster, and my first version was really ugly with just a white background and black text. And I figured, no, I need to fix this. So, I made something more decent looking.
I figured the importance is the prompts, not the style of the poster :) But I still wanted SOMETHING nice.
Day 1: Waking up after New Years Eve. What happened last night at New Years Eve? Did they have a wild party? Was there drama or was it a wonderful night? What’s happening now? How do the characters spend their first day of the new year?
Day 2: Summer vacation from On Beat Studio. We follow the Violetta characters for about half a year every season. But what are they doing in january, on their summer vacation? Let’s find out!
Day 3: Summer vacation from Blake South College. We follow the Soy Luna characters through their school year. But what are they doing on their summer vacation in january? Let’s find out!
Day 4: Summer vacation from school. This is the Bia day, and sadly it just says ”school” as we don’t know their school’s name (since we never see them there). Still, are the characters doing something fun on their summer vacation in january? Let’s find out!
Day 5: A January in the past. When the characters were younger, they had some things happen in january. What? That’s up to you to decide!
Day 6: New Years resolutions - do they keep them? Well, pretty self explanatory. What new years resolutions do the characters have, and have they managed to keep them this far?
Day 7: Bia canon couple on a date
Day 8: Violetta canon couple on a date
Day 9: Soy Luna canon couple on a date
Day 10: On vacation in the northern hemisphere. It’s summer time in the southern hemisphere, but what if they decided to visit the northern hemisphere, where it’s currently snowy and cold (well, I guess unless you go to vacation in California or something). How is it?
Day 11: Someone’s January birthday. SOMEONE must have a birthday in january and you can decide who.
Day 12: Soy Luna non-canon couple on a date
Day 13: Bia non-canon couple on a date
Day 14: Violetta non-canon couple on a date
Day 15: How has the new year been so far? More or less half of january has passed. How are they doing? This day is kind of generic and can help to maybe write a follow-up to a previous day you wanted to write a sequel to.
Day 16: A January in the future. How far in the future is up to you. Are we dealing with the teens now being adults, and being parents? Or even further into the future, are they grandparents?
Day 17: Soy Luna friendship hangout. Just a day where a couple of friends, anything from only being two of them to a whole big group, go and hang out together.
Day 18: Violetta friendship hangout. The same explanation as the one above
Day 19: Bia friendship hangout. The same explanation as the one above.
Day 20: A January deep talk. Some people have a talk that just gets very deep and real. Some angst might be involved, or it might just be a deep talk about something silly.
Day 21: An evening of singing and dancing. If there is anything the DCLA characters love, it’s singing and dancing! How does it go when they meet up in the evening to sing and dance?
Day 22: Summer job. You know, it’s likely someone has a summer job. What do they work with?
Day 23: Violetta family hangout. Any family in Violetta hanging out for the day. Could be any family from the show, and could also be a family hanging out in the past, maybe little Violetta with her parents and aunt, or a family constellation in the future. Maybe your favorite character’s family with their future kids. Or just a family hangout in the present time. Up to you.
Day 24: Bia family hangout. Any family in Bia hanging out for the day. Could be any family from the show, and could also be a family hanging out in the past, maybe little Bia with her parents and sister, or a family constellation in the future. Maybe your favorite character’s family with their future kids. Or just a family hangout in the present time. Up to you.
Day 25: Soy Luna family hangout. Any family in Soy Luna hanging out for the day. Could be any family from the show, and could also be a family hanging out in the past, maybe Luna back when she was Sol with her parents, or Ámbar as a kid (or why not an AU where her and Luna grew up together? 😉) or a family constellation in the future. Maybe your favorite character’s family with their future kids. Or just a family hangout in the present time. Up to you.
Day 26: D+LA day. Any D+LA show and something the characters are up to in january.
Day 27: Alternate universe in January. Go wild! Do any kind of AU of your choice. Does everyone have magical powers? Does it take place in another time period? Is it similar to the original universe but there are some key differences?
Day 28: A January dinner party. Someone is having a dinner party. How does it go? Do they have it inside or outside? Who are invited? Is there drama involved?
Day 29: A day at the beach. They go to the beach and they have some fun there!
Day 30: Summer fling. Is there a pairing you'd like to explore, but you don't see them as fully dating or last very long? Well, maybe they had a summer fling!
Day 31: Planning the rest of the year. What's the plans for the rest of the year for these characters? I wonder if their plans will hold.
If you want to make something, make sure to tag it "dcla january event 2024" and tag this blog!
Hope to see some of you there ;)

After all these years*, finally, I have them all**
*only two **just this one thing
The Gravity Falls Vinyl finally came and it’s AMAZING! Review and spoilers under the cut:
First of all, Brad Breeck is a genius. Of course, we know that already, having watched the show and enjoyed the epic music, but hearing it by itself is awesome on a whole other level. His music conveys joy, sadness, nostalgia, adventure, creepiness, fun, excitement, suspense... it goes straight to your heart and makes you want to go on an adventure. And you hardly have to look at the track lists to know which part they go to. Like "Oh man, this is when Stan first turns on the portal and says "Here we go." " or "Ahhhh this is when Ford comes back ugh it's so good!" These instrumentals are instant seratonin.
The songs with lyrics are so great to hear on their own as well! A few from the show are missing (the ones that come to mind immediately are "Disco Girl" and the Manotaur Training Montage Song), and I'm not sure if it was due to licensing issues or artistic choices, but the ones that are included are so SO good. Like, how cool is it to own a physical copy of "Blanchin'", the song of the summer from another dimension? Or be able to sing along to Love Patrol Alpha's cover of "Taking Over Midnight"? There's also a song I didn't recognize called "My Heart is Full of Rainbows" that is clearly from Mabel Land, and I'm unironically obsessed with it (if it is actually in there and I just missed it, mea culpa). Anyway, FANTASTIC SONGS and I think I screamed every time a new one came on.
My only sadness is that the album isn't longer, but that's part of being a Gravity Falls fan- you get something perfect and short, but you know it was created that way for a reason. BUT Brad Breeck released the musical suites from each episode of season one on youtube (with some pretty fun animation), so if I'm ever hankering for more I know exactly where to go (here's hoping he releases season two in the future!)
As for the art- it's so SO cool. It's very psychedelic and weirder than the show's style, and that's the point. When I was a little kid, I liked to look at the record soundtracks that my parents had when they were little kids, and the art was SO different from the actual movie/show that the record was for. It was always some unique interpretation from an artist who was allowed to follow their vision, and sometimes the characters were almost unrecognizable, but that was part of the fun. I used to spend forever just looking at that album art, and I hope that if I have kids one day they'll do the same for this. The detail alone is absolutely mind blowing!
OK, enough of my dumb opinions, here are the spoilers:
There are three (technically four) backwards messages on the records. I used a recording app on my phone because my record player doesn't go backwards, and I didn't want to ruin the record or my player:
Side A: Soos says "Playing your record backwards is a great way to damage your record player!" Thanks, dude. Also on Side A is the Lamby Dance, but for some reason it's backwards? Makes it very creepy and I love it.
Side B: When I heard it backwards I thought it was McGucket, but it turns out it's Bill! "Jam your thumbs directly in your eyes for a free fireworks show!"
Side C: There are no backwards messages on this part of the record (THAT I KNOW OF OOoooOOOoooo. I mean, the other three are pretty obvious, so I don't know if one is hidden in the music, but no obvious ones on this side)
Side D: It's Stan telling you "Apparently if you play this record alongside Wizard of Oz, it matches perfectly." (For those of you who don't know, Pink Floyd's "Dark Side of the Moon" album is said to be the perfect soundtrack to The Wizard of Oz)
Physical Spoilers:
The decoder records are so fun, and there are song lyrics specific to each character hidden in the record sleeves so you get to use the vinyl to find them:
Dipper: "Disco Girl, coming through, that girl is you!"
Mabel: "Who's that girl with the pig and the braces, she puts a smile on everyone's faces!"
Stan: "I'm Stan and I was wrong, I'm singing the Stan Wrong Song"
Bill: "Eeny Meeny Miney YOU!" and he's surrounded by the zodiac symbols
All in all, this is super wonderful and I’m so glad i was able to grab this. As someone who got into Gravity Falls only two years ago, it was really cool that there was still something special for me to have that captures the fun and weirdness of this show. Definitely something I’ll treasure for years to come.

cyrus appreciation day!! mainly because of boredom but also i’ve just been feeling this urge to make these lol.
first and foremost, big thanks to you man. we’ve been friends for like….almost 2 years? 3? i’ve lost count lol— and i really have appreciated your friendship. you’re always willing to listen to me and my silly little rants whilst also giving me some advice which for me…it’s a little weird for me because i’m not used to being able to rant to people, i usually much rather listen to others ranting. did i mention i’m the complete definition of a hypocrite lmao-
but yea i really am grateful for your time and ability to give such incredible advice, be it actual or just little jokes. quite literally you are the dad figure in our friendship lol. and like an older brother i never had (in this scenario my cousin brother doesn’t count lol-) you are genuinely one of the sweetest, kindest and most optimistic person i know and oh my gosh your art <333 to die for. i love your style and just the way you draw !! and your roleplay…and knowledge…and theories…and canon explanations and basically just everything about you lmao- thank you once again and here’s to making more memories in the future (yk…when i’m not burdened with exams and losing my mind lol) <33
gift ;;
AHDHSIGWKZHAIAGHSVZKDGAISGA SHRIIIIIIII OMG THIS IS BEAUTIFUL THANK YOU SO MUCH AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!! I LITERALLY LOVE THIS SO MUCH IT’S SO PRETTY IM IMMEDIATELY SAVING IT AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA YOU’RE THE BEST THIS IS SO BEAUTIFUL HOLY MOLY IT’S AMAZING ARE YOU KIDDING ME AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!
Shri this was legitimately the best thing I could ever wake up to—you’re such a kind person and you’ve been really toughing it out for school and you’ve been doing such a good job!!!! Way to go on your exams btw!!! I know how hard you work for school, and you’re really going to go far!!!!!!!! Also, I’m always happy to just listen to you rant because honestly we all need someone to listen to us every now and then and I’m also super hard on myself when it comes to school and exams and stuff and your little tidbits about your school days are sometimes really funny or they’re just downright shocking—it’s always really fun to see what’s going on with you because there’s days where you’re just like “today something CRAZY happened and I HATE it” or “today something CRAZY happened and we got McDonalds” and it’s always the best ahahahaha!
I can’t believe we’ve been friends for so long already!!! Honestly where the heck did the time go???? But also it’s so nice knowing you because you’re such an awesome person and you make REALLY PRETTY MOOD BOARDS I SWEAR LIKE THIS IS GOING RIGHT NEXT TO MY XANTHOUS ONE REAL!!!!!! And you always have such aesthetic writing and you make really cool stuff! I can’t wait for when it becomes like officially summer and you get to relax and just do fun things again like write and roleplay and stuff and RELAX BECAUSE YOU WORK SO HARD DURING THE SCHOOL YEAR!!!!
Aaaaaaaaaa you’re so nice and kind Shri this is gonna make me cryyyyyyy!!! It’s literally everything I could have ever wanted this is amazing I’m keeping it forever and ever!!! Thank you, thank you, thank you times a million 🙏😭!!!
Also uno reverse and shoutout to you for always being super fun to message and share stories with because you’re literally one of the best people ever!!! This post has contained more exclamation marks than I’ve ever used before but I’m just super excited and also super grateful you’re so awesome and sweet!! Here’s to many more years of being friends and listening to your wild stories about how school’s going AJDGKAGAJAGSJAA!!! You’re the best! Seriously thoooo!!! Thank youuuuu!!!!
#THANK YOU SO MUCH AAAAAAAAAA#YOURE AMAZING#AND THE BEST#THIS IS THE BEST WAY TO START MY DAY YOU HAVE NO IDEAAAAAA

Seth, a Sorcerer from Pompo Hills, sets out on an adventure to exterminate all these Nemeses. Accompanying him are Doc and Mélie, fellow Sorcerers who share his ideal. Their main objective is to bring about a world where Sorcerers are no longer persecuted for being infected, and to that end, desire to destroy the source of the Nemeses themselves: the mythical Radiant.
Propaganda:
Radiant is adorable: the main duo are a perfect combination of airheads with good intentions.
The story is a pretty clear stand against notions of prejudice / racism / xenophobia, and since the original comic is French, you know it’s not just fiction.
Aside from that, the series is a delight to watch: it’s colorful, soft, the designs are fantastical. Still surprised Tumblr didn’t find Grimm and turned him into a sexyman.
Trigger Warnings: Animal Cruelty or Death, Child Abuse, Racism.
Magicians suffer prejudice and sometimes are physically and verbally assaulted. Nemeses are animal-like creatures and are hunted.
#E8: Vampire in the Garden
youtube
Summary:
During a winter long ago, near-immortal vampires began plaguing the world. As their population grew at an astounding rate, they promptly threw humanity off its place at the top of the food chain. Desperate to avoid extinction, the surviving humans concentrated in their last safe haven—a small city surrounded by an enormous wall. There, they have waged war against the vampires for many years.
In the midst of a particularly brutal attack by the vampires, a human soldier named Momo encounters Fiine, the queen of their enemies. After seeing her try to save Momo's best friend from a rampaging vampire, Momo follows Fiine back to her house. It is there Momo connects with Fiine over their love for music and desire to escape the fighting.
Pursuing that goal of escape, the two decide to journey toward a supposed paradise where humans and vampires coexist—despite being uncertain of its existence. However, Momo and Fiine are being targeted by both races, who they must first evade if they hope to reach their destination in one piece.
Propaganda:
This anime came out a year ago, but I literally never heard of it until earlier this summer because Netflix had it. You guys are SLEEPING on such a good series—it’s 6 episodes so it’s short, but it feels like a whole single film. The voice acting is so fun, the music slaps, the animation goes HARD during fight scenes, and it’s just so so good. The art style is pretty, and the scenery makes me lose my mind, it’s SO pretty. I need to write an essay one day about how VitG uses music to carry the story because wow that is 🛐🛐🛐 Also there’s a goofy looking dog named Connie that continuously appears and serves no purpose in the plot. Love that
Trigger Warnings: Child Abuse, Emotional Abuse, Graphic Depictions of Cruelty/Violence/Gore, Racism, Self-Harm.
Child abuse & emotional abuse for Momo’s complicated relationship with her mother. Also emotional abuse for Fine’s past traumas and current strained relationship with other vampires.
This is a vampire anime, so there’s a lot of blood and fighting. There’s also a drug introduced in ep1 that mutates a vampire horribly.
Racism is human-versus-vampire shenanigans.
Self-harm for a scene where a human attempts to feed a vampire and for drug usage as mentioned above.

Harley Hua ~ Task Thirteen: Short and Sweet
What is your favorite book from childhood? I was just talking to Elliot about this the other day, but I loved Watchmen. I know it's not really for children, but my parents didn't. I also had a more age-appropriate book I loved, because the art was so beautiful in it. I remember it took place in the woods, but not what it was called or what the plot was. But it was so detailed, and colorful, and had a unique art style.
Do you own an item that comforts you when you’re sad? Do my art supplies count?
What makes you happy? I seem to have a one-track mind tonight but after a long day I love to go home, take off my cochlear implants, light a candle, and spend hours painting. I do my best work in the middle of the night when everyone else is asleep. What are three things you like about yourself? I like almost everything about myself. That sounds like a cop-out, but it took me a really long time to learn self confidence. So maybe that's the first thing I like - that I'm a confident person. I also like the discipline I have to eat right and work out every day so that I can have the body I always dreamed of. And I love my sense of fashion. It's so much fun to dress up for all the events we have here in Merrock.
Which season is your favorite? Summer, easily! I love the heat, getting to spend a lot of my free time at the beach, and how much brighter everything feels; literally and emotionally.
Do you believe in the supernatural? What are we defining as supernatural? Ghosts and witches? Or are more religious symbols such as Gods, angels and demons also supernatural? Being raised both Jewish and Chinese, I got a lot of mixed messages as a kid. Parts of my Chinese culture are clearly against Jewish law. But I didn't grow up orthodox, so I've always taken it with a grain of salt on both sides anyways. I was generally discouraged from things like magic, or ghosts and demons, unless it was coming from a Chinese family member. I think my parents disagreed with how to raise us in that regard and tried to compromise, but it just made any of it being taboo feel nonsensical. Anyways, both cultures say not to mess with ghosts but I really want to go ghost hunting one day. Name a song that has a deeper meaning to you You've activated my Deaf card. What do you think about social media? I think it's great! Obviously, there are some drawbacks. But it allows people to connect in a way we couldn't have just a couple decades ago, and connects vulnerable people to resources that they need. How many queer communities have thrived on websites like tumblr? I remember being a teenager and seeing people like myself online when I didn't know there was anyone else like me in Merrock. It was lifechanging! What would be your dream job? Illustrator. Specifically, illustrating comic books but I also really want to do childrens books too. Name three things you don’t leave the house without My keys, obviously. And my phone. Normally I have my wallet or my cochlear implants on me, but not always. With so many places having tap-to-pay now, you really only need those two things. What is your favorite comfort food? My grandma is an amazing cook and she does this delicious lamb hot pot. It's a good thing she lives so far away, because I could not stick to my nutrition goals if I had the opportunity to eat that every week. Are you an active person? / What do you do to stay active? Is water wet? Technically not, but that's not the point. When I'm not painting or instructing a class, I'm almost always on the move. I try to spend two hours at the gym every day, although that's not always realistic with my busy schedule. I get a lot of steps in, walking around and giving tours at From Brush to Canvas. And I grew up doing gymnastics and cheerleading and try to practice so I don't lose my ability to do some of those stunts. Even as I've transitioned, I've managed to keep a lot of the flexibility I grew up with. I also live in the ocean in the summer, whether I'm surfing or swimming. Name your three biggest inspirations (people-wise) My brother and my grandma are easily my first two. Leaving my family for the third one, I think Gerda Wegener was amazing and pushed boundaries on sexuality and gender with her art in a way I really admire. What is currently your favorite airing show? I don't watch a lot of TV. When I'm at home, I like to take off my cochlear implants and enjoy the silence. And after a long day, the last thing I want to do is read captions for an hour straight. But I'm really excited for Echo to come out in a couple months. If you had to go anywhere right now, where would you go? If I had to? A warm, tropical beach that has complimentary cocktails and crystal-clear water.

HONEYMOON MATCHUP WITH : MILES MORALES
— honeymoon
— miles is not exactly sure how the two of you met — the one thing he vividly remembers about the first time he had seen your face though was the one time he bumped into you in the school hallway— you were carrying a stack of papers and he tripped over his own feet and the two of you fell to the ground — he apologized profusely while helping you gather your papers — he was a mess, blushing and stumbling over his own words and you laughed and he paused — the sound was like music to his ears. you'd smiled at him and told him that it was okay and he shouldn't worry about it — he might've said something along the lines of "uh, uhuh, yeah, i'm so sorry." because he truly couldn't manage anything else out, too awe-struck by you — you could say he literally fell for you.
— you became close friends quickly after miles found out the two of you share art class — by heart, he was an artist, so it was no surprise when you found sketches of yourself in his sketchbook and teased him about it, it was all good fun with the two of you laughing and then comfortable silence fell over the two of you after, and almost as if on instinct, miles leaned in, pressing his lips to yours in a soft peck — it was like he was drawn to your lips ( actually, he always has been ) and he pulled himself towards the attraction instead of resisting it, it was only to his surprise when you kissed him back.
— and then, when it was summertime and you were sitting atop a roof and miles swung right besides you — laughing at how you yelped in surprise before taking off his spider-man mask and handing you a bouquet of sunflowers he had handpicked for you himself, grinning at how happy you looked, you were laughing as you inhaled in the scent of the flowers, before hugging him tightly and thanking him, he laughed — his heart skipping beats in his chest as he leaned in to kiss you, to savor your sweet taste that matched the sweet words you always spoke to him, and he couldn't help but think about just how lucky he was.
— what's on the radio : stop the world cause i wanna get off with you, the arctic monkeys
a/n : this man is literally so dhuwhjdsh i love him so much, ty for the request <33

The Pines Files
After the events of Weirdmaggeddon, Dipper and Mabel are contacted by the SCP foundation and join the ranks. The adventure never ended, it just took a different turn. And now, years later, they're back to Gravity Falls, aka SCP-████. And it is up to them to investigate the ever-growing mystery behind the town and protect the most dangerous and important SCPs there are and face their past.
Chapter One: Deal With The Devil
Dr. Mason Pines stared at himself in the mirror, hands gripping the sink, and wondered what his life had become. Sure, he knew what he’d signed up for, but still. He hated this. The near constant testing, the things that went on in this place. The dark circles under his eyes were as bad as they had ever been, and he was pretty sure he had gray hairs. Working where he did could do that to a guy. Mason let the water drip from his face before getting some paper towels and drying himself off, leaving his birthmark exposed. It felt like just yesterday he was a little kid.
He and Mabel had only been thirteen when they’d been approached. It was any other September day. The air was turning colder, they had started to settle into their school routine, and they were walking home together as they always had. He was listening to her talk all about her art class, where she had drawn some bits of a fun dream she had, but made a few modifications of course. “Those colors aren’t really possible in pencil, ya know! So I made up for it by putting on lots of glitters! Ms. Walker said I had a lot of imagination! But she also told me I’ll probably have to tone it down for the style units. I don’t think I’ll need to though.”
He’d been nodding along as she talked, writing down a little bit in his pocket journal. He was listening of course, but he also needed to keep track of all of his own little discoveries and theories. However, he was quickly pulled out of both Mabel’s retelling of events and his writings when they turned a corner. Right there, at their house, was a black van, “Mabel. Mabel!” He tugged on her sweater sleeve a little bit.
“I wonder if I should start drawing-” she stopped dead when he pulled on her sleeves and brought her attention to that van. Her eyes widened as she looked at Dipper, “I thought Great Uncle Ford wiped all those government guys’ memories with the mind eraser thingy.”
Dipper gripped the straps of his backpack, telling Mabel, “Maybe it’s not them. Maybe Mom and Dad are working on with some clients.” But even back then, he knew that was just something he said to comfort his sister. “Come on, let’s just head inside. It’s not like we can avoid them forever.”
And so they walked into their house, Dipper calling out, “Mom? Dad? You guys home?” before the two dropped their backpacks and headed into the living room. And their parents were certainly there, but they weren’t the only ones. Sitting on the couch, drinking coffee, were two people. Both were men, one was wearing a suit, sunglasses, and an earpiece. The other was dressed in a sweater and khakis, staring at Waddles as the pot-bellied pig sniffed him.
Their mother waved them over, telling them, “Mabel, Dipper, your father and I were just talking about you and your great uncles to Agent Young and Dr. Gordon. About what happened last summer. They wanted to talk to you.” Her eyes darted between her children and the armed agent taking a sip of his coffee.
Before either twin could answer, Dr. Gordon was up, approaching the two children with a flashlight, their father telling him, “Hey wait! We told you our children aren’t anomalies or whatever! They’re just kids!”
As Dr. Gordon shined a light in Dipper’s ear, he retorted with, “Yes, I know what you said. But you never know with twins! Especially not after that incident.” He then turned off the flashlight and inspected Mabel’s eyes, holding one of them open. “Did you have any sugar today Miss Pines?”
“Y-yeah! I mean no! I mean- Why do you wanna know?” The poor girl was sweating already.
Dr. Grant, completely ignoring her terror, told her, “So that’s a yes.” He went to sit back down, the agent with him nodding towards the other couch. “Let’s get to business then. Have a seat. Your parents filled us in on the situation, but we want to hear from you two.”
“And what situation would that be, exactly?” Dipper was clenching and unclenching his fists. Not sure if he should run away or be honest as he headed onto the couch and sat down, Mabel fidgeting with her hands a little bit as she joined him.
The agent spoke this time, telling the two, “Well, our biggest concern is how you managed to stop an apocalypse-level threat at only twelve years old. And the other is the location of Stanford and Stanely Pines. We want all the details of what happened.”
Dipper, having learned to not trust government agents, asked, “Depends, why do you want to know? And who are you guys anyway?” Mabel was beckoning Waddles over, not wanting him too close to Dr. Gordon.
Agent Young put his coffee down on the table and looked directly at Dipper, telling him, “Smart kid, making sure you know who you’re dealing with. We’re not government if that’s what you’re wondering. We’re from an independent organization that tracks, studies, and contains anomalies. Your uncle, or, I suppose, uncles, have been on our radar for a long long time. And that incident you stopped, well, you wouldn’t expect that kind of work from civilians, let alone children. Minimal casualties, clean termination. Our question is how two preteens and a couple of madmen did that.”
Mabel spoke up, asking, “How do we know you’re not gonna take us to jail after this?”
Dr. Gordon told the kids, “You have our word. Also, Agent Young can give you his handcuffs.”
“What?”
“Just go with it, Young.”
Agent Young hesitated, but he handed his cuffs over to Mabel, who held onto them as if her life depended on it. “Ok, so, Bill possessed Blendin and told me he could make a time bubble to make summer last longer because me and Dipper had a fight and I didn’t wanna grow up so I gave him a weird globe thing that turned out to be a space rift so Dipper and our friends Wendy and Soos had to get me out of a prison Bill put me in and I realized growing up wouldn’t be so bad so we went back to the shack and met up with Grunkle Stan and some of our other friends and made the shack into a big mecha and went to attack Bill and save Great Uncle Ford though that didn’t stop him we got into his pyramid anyways and managed to distract him and Grunkle Stan and Ford came up with the idea to switch places cause they’re identical twins and Bill wouldn’t be able to tell the difference and once Bill went into Grunkle Stan’s mind Great Uncle Ford wiped his mind and that killed Bill and we had to fix Grunkle Stan’s memories and now they’re on a boat but we don’t know where!”
The agent and the scientist both blinked, Mabel finally taking a breath and still gripping those handcuffs with all the strength in her little hands. Agent Young looked to Dipper and asked, “Mind filling in the gaps, son?”
Dipper considered lying, he considered refusing to elaborate. He really did. But something told him they’d just find out. They found out where his family lived, they had known about Stan and Ford. How did he know that they wouldn’t just already know about what had happened? So, he told the truth, about Bill, Blendin, everything. He watched them nod along and his parents cringe at the messier details. He knew that they thought it was all imagination on Mabel’s end. He’d hoped it would stay like that.
Dr. Gordon had been writing this down the whole time and when Dipper was done, he closed his notebook. “That should finish up the incident report. Now, onto business. The big reason we’re here is that you managed to take down the threat. We had operatives in Gravity Falls at the time, and yet, you fixed it. And, as Young said, there weren’t any civilian casualties, aside from your uncle’s memories. However, your uncles are still responsible for all this. In normal circumstances, we’d be interrogating you for their location. However, seeing as they’ve left the site and are a minimal threat, we want to make you an offer.”
“When you kids are older, we want you to be a part of our foundation. We could use people like you on the payroll. And in exchange for your cooperation, we’d be willing to let your uncles go. We’d be willing to pay for your education on top of that, as long as it’s relevant to the foundation.”
Dipper squinted. They were offering… a job? To teenagers? “What’s the catch?”
“Smart kid. The catch is that once you take this offer, there’s no turning back. If you reject the offer or leave, we’ll have to arrest your uncles if we encounter them. We’d wipe your memory of not just us, but that whole summer. You would be completely safe, but it’ll be as if the summer never happened. And as if you never met your uncles. So, the choice is yours.”
“Are you fucking kidding me? You’re telling me that my kids, who are thirteen, mind you, have to join your weird organization, or else you’re going to arrest our uncles? Do you know how insane that sounds? What makes you think you can blackmail them, anyway?” Dipper’s blood ran cold at that moment. He’d never heard his father swear like that before.
And then Mrs. Pines chimed in. “Alex is absolutely right, you’re not doing this to our kids! And we’re not just going to let you arrest my husband’s uncles either! He JUST got his uncle Ford back! Honestly, we should just call the police on you. I don’t care if you supposedly have authority, y-.” And then their parents went down, hitting the carpeted floor as the twins yelled out in horror, Waddles squealed. Agent Young was holding a gun.
“Relax, they’re not dead, they were hit with a sedative and amnestic. They’ll wake up and won’t remember a thing about us coming to your home.” And indeed. Their parents were still breathing. Instead of bullet holes, there were small darts. Only noticeable now that it was pointed out.
“W-why would you knock them out and make them forget?” Dipper’s voice cracked as he said it. Dr. Gordon pushed his glasses up, trying to lure Waddles out from his hiding spot under the couch.
“Simple, this isn’t their decision, it’s yours. You’re only thirteen, that much is true, but you’re also already thirteen. A lot of kids don’t get to live that long because of anomalies, like the ones you stopped. Some get to your age and end up suffering in ways you could never conceive of. Imagine what you can do when you’re eighteen, twenty-five, or thirty. The kids just like you who you’d save. Not to mention the huge favor you would be doing for your uncles. Wouldn’t it be nice to do them a favor? To save them the way they saved you?”
Mabel and Dipper looked at each other. These guys had a point. They couldn’t just let their uncles get arrested. And they certainly didn’t want to forget the summer. But, this was also a shadowy organization. Dipper knew that they were thinking the same thing. “Can we think on it a little bit? Before we make the decision?”
“Not overnight,” Young said, knowing exactly what they were thinking. “Your parents will wake up within the hour, so you have a little less than that to decide.”
To that, the twins got up from the couch, heading up to their room. Waddles came out from under the couch to follow them, though it was a tight squeeze for him. When they got to their room, Dipper set out to look for anything that looked bugged, and Mabel turned her stuffed animals away. “I don’t trust them, Dipper.”
“Yeah, neither do I! Mabel, they knocked out Mom and Dad! Honestly, how do we even know that they haven’t been poisoned?” He made sure the window was closed and checked the charge on his phone.
“Because they’d either have to kidnap us or deal with CPS?” Waddles had climbed up onto Mabel’s bed after she sat on it and she was scratching his ears.
“That’s a good point.” Dipper started to pace then, thinking over their options. “Obviously, we’re not gonna let them arrest Grunkle Stan and Great Uncle Ford. But we can’t just do what they want! They’re weirdos!”
“Total weirdos.” "
But at the same time, that was the best summer of our lives! We can’t just forget that!” Mabel nodded along, watching Dipper pace ever more fretfully. “It’s like it’s a trap! Work for someplace we don’t even know about or let them ruin our lives!”
Mabel wasn’t sitting idly by as she pet Waddles, of course. As she watched the pig wiggle happily, she was having her own thoughts on the matter. Dipper’s verbalizations laying it out for her. “Maybe we can ask them to do stuff for us? Make sure they’re not evil?”
“You mean we should negotiate?” Dipper stopped his pacing and looked over at her. “
Yeah!” She slipped off her bed and headed to her drawer, pulling out some pink, strawberry-scented, lined paper and two gel pens. “We can tell them stuff we won’t do if we join them!”
“Of course! Mabel, you’re a genius!” He took a gel pen and a sheet of paper before he lay belly down on the floor. Mabel joined him, and they came up with negotiation points together.
It took 20 minutes total to think of everything they needed, and when they came downstairs, Agent Young had placed Mr. and Mrs. Pines on the couch and was currently trying to maneuver them. Probably trying to make it look like they had fallen asleep after a long day of coding and repairs. He was the one to notice that they each held a paper in their hands. “I suppose our terms weren’t enough for you?”
Dipper nodded, telling him, “We have a list of assurances, demands, that sort of thing. Just to make sure that we’re not gonna get black bagged and murdered by some weird agents. For all we know, your organization isn’t even real.”
Agent Young raised an eyebrow. “You’re not exactly in a position to make demands kid.”
“You’re the one who said we were valuable,” Dipper retorted. “And that means you want us working for you when we grow up more than you want to arrest our uncles.”
“He’s got you there,” Dr. Gordon pointed out. He was still sitting around. Not wanting to help his colleague with the heavy lifting. “Lay it on us kids.”
“First of all, we want to know exactly what you guys do and who you work for. We don’t even know who you are. For all we know, this is a trap from those government agents getting their memories back.” He passes his paper to Agent Young.
“And we want a promise that if we say no, you won’t get rid of our memories of our grunkles or the summer. We know you can get rid of only some memories. You can’t take the best summer of our lives, and it’s not like EVERYTHING that summer was weird,” Mabel added as she passed her own list of demands to Dr. Gordon. Their grunkles would at least appreciate knowing someone remembered them, especially after all that time they were ignored.
As the agent and the doctor looked over the negotiation points, they both knew the kids had a point. Dipper could see it in their faces. Agent Young told them, “We’re from the SCP foundation. It stands for Secure, Contain, Protect. We track down anomalies and capture them, keeping them from harming the populace. We work with governments but not for any government. We are beholden to no law enforcement agency. Essentially, we’re humanity’s best defense against the supernatural.” Dipper and Mabel listened to that explanation and it did not calm them down. Some weird secret foundation? A bad time all around. But they were smart kids. They kept quiet during the explanation.
“Alright then, let’s get down to business then, you’ll find our negotiation points are very clear.”
Both agent and Dr. looked at the lists properly and made the same face of confusion. “The right to maintain a supernatural Youtube channel?”
“No uniforms?”
“What kind of demands are these?”
“Simple ones. You guys are obviously a secret organization. You’re going to want to control our free time to make sure we don’t spill everything. I want assurance that you won’t shut me down if I do ghost hunting in my free time.”
“And I don’t wanna wear a uniform! I’ve never worn one before and I’m not gonna start just cause I’m working for a secret monster jail!” Gordon and Young thought for a moment.
“You can have your YouTube, but it’s gotta be fake or just things that the Foundation would never bother with.”
“The best I can do is to let you be able to customize your armor if you join the Mobile Task Force. Stickers, decals, that sort of thing.”
“And our summer?” Dipper crossed his arms.
“You’d really let your great uncles get arrested after making all these demands?”
“No, we just want to know that you won’t make us forget our own family if it turns out you're, like, super evil or something.”
The agent and the doctor looked at each other, clearly thinking the same thing as they looked back at the twins. “We can do this. The terms just need to be looked at by higher-ups.”
The twins nodded, those conditions were amenable. And after going over the rest of the negotiation points, it was settled.
“We’ll see you again in five years. Your parents will wake up and won’t remember a thing about us. I expect that you’ll want to tell your uncles, but I recommend that you avoid doing that. We don’t want those two on us.” And with that, both agent and doctor left, and the fates of the two children had been sealed. Because that’s what they had been, children.
Did they save the world? Sure they had, and now they had done it multiple times. But who makes two kids join an organization like this? Who threatens two kids into compliance like this? And then, there was a knock at the door.
“Dr. Pines, come back. The test next test is about to start.”
Mason groaned, and he grabbed a paper towel to dry his face. “Right, right.” And then, he left the bathroom. “Has the D-class been given 2107 yet?”
“Yes, he’s been given the variant.”
“Alright, let’s go then.” Just what he needed, to watch a man be haunted by category-10 ghosts that came from a can.
As he walked into the testing room and picked up his clipboard, Mason couldn’t help but sigh, his supervisor telling him, “Don’t be like that Pines, you’ve dealt with ghosts before.”
“Yeah, yeah,” he approached the two-way glass, watching as the D-class just sort of sat there. The diet ghost hasn’t set in yet it seemed. He wondered what took so long to test this new variant though. A “classic” flavor was bound to be stronger based on non-anomalous soda trends.
And then, it started, the guy got up and started looking around in confusion. Another scientist stated out loud for the recording, “15 minutes in, the subject has started to experience auditory hallucinations.”
The poor guy started to pace around, getting up from his chair and pacing, telling the ghost that was haunting him, “Shut up! Shut up!”
“The subject has started to show signs of distress, pacing, trying to make the voices stop.” Mason wondered where this D-class had come from. Was he a murderer? A political prisoner? He wrote down that the guy was getting scared.
And then, the real effects started to set in. The nearby video feed started to go out and the recording was starting to break, they were reliant on the two-way mirror now. “Electronics are now going out. The ghost is now affecting the subject’s surroundings.”
Did they really have to go to 270ml so fast? They had barely gotten the last guy out of the room by the time they got this guy in. And then, it started. The walls started to drip something before the flow got stronger and stronger. It was red. The guy screamed.
“The testing area has started to release a red liquid, tests will be run after the procedure is finished.”
Mason wrote down that the walls were bleeding. There was no way that wasn’t blood. This wasn’t a horror movie; that wasn’t red corn syrup. It certainly didn’t help that despite the lack of a microphone and the soundproofing, he could now hear the ghosts chanting, “Murderer, murderer, murderer!” He wrote that down. “The subject is now bleeding! I repeat the subject is now bleeding!”
From his eyes specifically, the man screamed in pain before he started to cough up blood as well. Guards began to move towards the door, knowing what was about to happen. Mason headed toward the drawer and got the ipecac. "Doctor Pines, what are you doing?"
The room was starting to look like The Shining. Blood was all over the floor from all walls. He strode right in with the agents, almost slipping on the floor as he went up to the D-class. “Come on, man, you’ve gotta take this.” He uncapped the syrup and tried to offer it to the D-class. But it was no use, as Mason tried to pour the liquid into the D-class's mouth, he just coughed up more blood, some even got on his face. There was no way they would be able to get the diet ghost out of his system. All they could do was watch, the agents taking out their mirrors in case they needed to catch the ghosts. But they found that when the D-class stopped coughing and his eyes stopped dripping, the walls stopped bleeding; the chant of “murderer,” stopped.
“The subject has expired, cause of death, blood loss. Take the day everyone.” Mason just knelt there for a bit before getting up, the body being dragged away. And to think he was having a bad day before this. He tried to wipe his face but just found that he smeared more blood on himself. Great.
He heard footsteps from behind as he got up, and heard his supervisor’s voice “Dr. Pines, you need to report to decontamination. D-57351 was due for his monthly blood test.” On top of the ghostly blood.
“Yeah, yeah, I’ll go do that. Just give me a minute.” He turned to look at his supervisor. A short woman in her 50’s. Despite her height, she always had an air of intimidation to her.
“There was nothing you could have done. You know that right?”
“Yeah, I know. It’s just a lot. Didn’t expect to see a guy bleed out through his eyes and mouth.”
“Yes, well, you heard the ghosts. He wasn’t exactly a good person, don’t beat yourself over it.” She patted his shoulder, and he had to resist the urge to not let her touch him. At least he could go ahead and get clean before going home. Just as he was about to clock out though, there was a call over the Speakers. “Dr. Pines, report to Dr. Casper’s office. I repeat, report to Dr. Casper’s office.” He groaned and headed straight to there anyways.
Dr. Casper was a no-nonsense kind of woman, despite being head of spectral anomalies with a name like hers. Mason sometimes wondered if she got into ghosts because of her name or if it was a coincidence. She stopped her writing when he came in, her Newton’s cradle going clack clack clack on her desk. “Ah, Dr. Pines, you made it. Please, sit.” She gestured to one of the chairs.
As Mason sat down, he asked, “Is this about the incident with the test? I just followed the procedure. I thought he’d be able to drink the syrup, honest.” It wasn’t his fault the poor guy choked so much. “He would have expelled the diet ghost if it wasn’t for the choking-”
She raises her hand, telling him, “You’re not in trouble for that. We may not be short of D-class, but that’s no way for anyone to go. You did what procedure says you should and just couldn’t get it to work, that’s all. No, you’re here because I have an assignment for you.”
“An assignment?”
Dr. Casper nodded, telling him, “Yes. You see, I think you would benefit from some fieldwork. In the five years you’ve worked at the foundation, you’ve shown exceptional professionalism and excellent results. And in the two years you’ve worked in my department, you’ve been extremely diligent, handling ghosts about as well as people who’ve worked here for fifteen years. However, I don’t think you’re a good fit for lab work or this department.”
“What?”
“Don’t worry, I’m not demoting you. Goodness no. I want you out there in the field. And I want you to focus on living anomalies. I’ve seen you run around in those videos you make, and your first incident report shows you have the quick thinking and the instincts to do more than work in just one area. Especially with your doctorate credentials.”
“Right, so, you’re saying I need to get out there and actually look for anomalies. ”
“Not exactly,” she folded her hands on top of her desk. “Look, I’ve read your contract, I know you’re not going to leave any time soon. But I want you to succeed, not just be held hostage like a D-class. As I said, you’ve already been approved.” She reached into her files and pulled out some forms. “All you need to do is agree.”
Mason looked them over, reading very carefully. You didn’t survive long in this industry without knowing exactly what you were getting into. His eyes widened once he realized what site he was sent to. Because it wasn’t just any site, it was an entire SCP. Codename: Weirdest Town In America. “You’re sending me to Gravity Falls?”
“I’m not. I’m guessing the director thought you’d do best there.” Mason thought he was being pranked at this point. This was too good to be true. But there it was. Dr. Casper’s signature was right on the line, and Dr. Bright’s signature was right on the line that said: “Director’s signature here.” And the handwriting indicating his transfer to Gravity Falls sure wasn’t in Dr. Casper’s.
“So I just sign here right?” Dr. Casper nodded and Dipper did not hesitate to sign his name. Dr. Mason Pines, Ph.D. in anomalies. He was going home.

Growing Fangs: Chapter 2
The Day of Reckoning!!!
It’s a bright Friday; the sky is clear, and the summer heat is finally starting to hit. From big cities to beaches, the country seemed ready for some seasonal fun. Even a tiny woodland town like Moonwood Mill was feeling the heat. Yes, today was looking to be a perfect fit for kicking-off summer vacation, especially for the oldest kids of the town's fullest house.
“🎵 Tonight, You’re Fuel For My Fire!🎵 You Can’t Stop Desire, Oh Oh Oh Oh!🎵 Stop Desire, Oh Oh Oh Oh!🎵”
The upbeat tone blares from the nearby keyboard inside a heavily decorated bedroom. The walls are painted charcoal black, fading to a dusted purple with a white border at the bottom. They’re covered in a collection of posters, decals, graffiti art, and hung paintings of very neon grunge aesthetic. The furniture only adds to the aesthetic; the desk was made from an old light green door, and the worn black dresser is paired with a wooden crescent moon mirror decorated with gems. There’s a little pumpkin craving station near the entrance that’s clearly been used more than once a year, and the nightstand was nothing more than an old crate with worn stickers. The only outliers are a corkboard and the small TV hanging on the right of the bed. The bed itself is just as dark and vibrant as the rest of the room; the headboard is made of soft light wood beams and black string woven into a lotus-style dream catcher. The sheets are white, and the blanket is gray with an illustration of a sun and shooting stars in chalk white. The pillows are lavender and black, with the black pillows having the phase of the moon printed on them.
One such pillow was sat on the chest of the room’s occupant, a teenage girl with dark brown hair and slightly tanned skin. Her hair is tied back in a bun, leaving her undercut exposed, and her skin is covered with the kind of scraps and scars only the most bullheaded of children get. She’s fast asleep; one hand sits at the top of her purple shorts, and the other is stretched over her head. Despite her gruff appearance, her nails are manicured and polished, with black and blue nail art of a wolf howling at the moon on them. Her black graffiti wolf t-shirt is rolled up on her stomach, revealing a rather impressive set of abs. Above them was the pillow, covering most of her chest with one edge sitting comfortably in her mouth. Periodically the edge gets chewed and squeezed by the girl's oddly sharp canines. She’s absolutely knocked out and lost in her dreamland when a loud bang from the other side of her right wall causes her to stir. The bang is followed by several more, an annoyed male voice accompanying them.
“Rachel(bang)..Rachel, get your alarm!...(bang)..Rachel, it’s 7 am; turn off your stupid alarm!...RACHEL!...(BANG, BANG, BANG)..RACHEL, WAKE THE FUCK UP AND TURN OFF YOUR FUCKING ALARM! IT’S TOO EARLY FOR THIS SHIT!”
The voice shouts; this finally wakes the sleeping teen, Rachel, who drowsily rolls over to the keyboard and turns it off. With the music off and her body already moving, Rachel begins to stretch in all kinds of ridiculous poses across her bed. When she’s finally got enough blood pumping through her veins, Rachel stands up, let’s out a big yawn, and looks at her calendar. It was a new month, and every day of the first week had been crossed off except that first Friday. That day had been circulated in blue marker, and the words “The Big Day” and “First Full Full Moon” were written around it. Rachel rubs her eyes as she tries to focus on the calendar’s marking, and once she can see clearly enough to read it, all the tiredness leaves her face. Instead, excitement and joy overtake her, and she starts jumping in the air with the biggest grin on her face.
“OH YEAH! IT’S FINALLY HERE! THE DAY OF RECKONING IS HERE! WOOOAH!
She shouts in pure excitement.
“SHUT UP!”
The annoyed voice cries in response to her loud cheering. Rachel just laughs in response before dashing to her dresser to grab something to wear. She’d been prepping for this day all year and had the perfect ensemble for what was sure to be a wild night. After stripping off her pajamas, Rachel puts on her favorite black sports bra and a pair of black fishnets. Then she puts in a pair of gray and black striped cut-off short shorts and an electric blue and light gray hoodie vest with a bright yellow arrow decal right on the chest. And to add a little pop, she puts a pair of ripped black knee-high socks with neon blue paint around the rips over her stockings, then tops that off with a pair of blue converse covered in drawings and written, some legible and others are just scribbles. Now set in her neon grunge attire, Rachel grabs her beauty supplies and puts on her war paint. She outlines her eyes with black eyeliner, then puts on a base of black and gray eyeshadow over her lids, then adds some blue in the middle to make it pop. For her lips, she goes for a two-tone look with dark purple on the bottom and midnight blue on the top. With her makeup looking on point, it’s time for the finale, jewelry! Rachel pulls out a selection of accessories from the top drawer and slips on a black wristband covered in fake silver studs to her right wrist and a handful of black and white bracelets on the left. And to add some glam to her face mind neck, she puts in two faux silver nose rings in her left nostril, double faux silver brow piercings on her right brow, then fastens the most classic of punk accessories, a black spiked collar around her neck.
She takes a few steps back to get her full body in the mirror and takes a moment to admire her handiwork before realizing her hair’s still up. Without a thought, Rachel reaches into her hair, catches the hair tie with her thumb, then cuts it out with her nail. The bun comes undone, allowing her hair to fall freely and reveal her bright neon blue bangs and navy blue tips. She takes a brush and starts brushing her wild locks down until it looks slightly tamed but rough enough to match her overall aesthetic. Now that her look is truly on point, Rachel goes over to her nightstand and grabs her phone. She fires up the photo app, smiles while sticking her tongue out at the camera, and takes a few selfies. Once she’s got a good shot, she opens up her Simgram app and writes up a post.
“#TODAY’STHEDAY! #BESTDAYEVER!!!!”
She speaks aloud as she types before uploading the photo and text to her social media, Social Bunny. Now Rachel wasn’t a huge social media user; she had little to no followers and barely posted once a week, but she did like to put something up when something big was happening, like a party or birthday. And today was the latter of those days.
“Sweet Sixteen, Baby! After tonight we’re headed for the big leagues! No more kids’ tables, no more 7 pm curfew!
She thought while slipping her phone before opening her bedroom door and walking out into the hallway. The moment she exists her room, Rachel is immediately hit by the sweet smell of sweet dough and sugar. Once she registers the scent, she dashes down the stairs through the living room and into the kitchen. There she sees her mom Mary Beth stand at the counter still in her PJs, long light blonde hair tied in a low ponytail as she decorates a vanilla cake with blue icing and sparkles. Rachel lets out a dramatic gasp before running up to her mom and hugging her from behind.
“BIRTHDAY BREAKFAST CAKE!
Rachel shouts with the excitement of a small child. Mary Beth looks over her shoulder at her oldest child and smiles; it had already been sixteen whole years since she brought her two little pups into this world, and today, they’d finally come into their own. Oh, how fast time flies.
“That it is, Sweetie pie, and if you want a piece of it, you’ll go fetch your daddy and your brothers while I finish up.”
Mary Beth says in a soft tone; Rachel nods in agreement and bolts out of the kitchen to gather up the men of the family. Her first stop, her parents’ bedroom, was right next to the front door. She dashes over and knocks on the door at a rapid pace and shouts-
“DAD! Wake Up! It’s Time For Breakfast!”
After a couple of seconds, there's a grumble, then the sounds of something shifting from the other side, followed by a loud yawn before her dad replies to her.
“Give me a sec, Rachie; gotta put some pants on and grab the goldens first.”
He states.
“ ‘Kay!”
She shouts back before rushing upstairs to accost her next target, Shawn. His room was right beside hers, but unlike Rachel Shawn had habit of keeping it locked up at all times. He had always been the less social of the family and preferred to spend most of his free time alone. Their mom always said he was just being a wallflower but Rachel thought that he just liked brooding to himself while listening to heavy metal. You know typical edge lord stuff. As she goes to knock on his door, Rachel hears the toilet flush and the bathroom door open. Stepping out into the hallway was the middle child of the family, Ryan. The little man was dressed in his favorite rocket ship footie pajamas, dark brown hair a mess from a night of vivid dreaming. He yawns and looks over at Rachel, adjusting his circle frame glass to see her through his clouded half asleep vision.
“Morning Rachel, is breakfast ready yet?”
The nine years says before letting out another long yawn and stretching out his arms. Rachel folds her arms and puts on an overly dramatic look of disappointment.
“Really? That’s the first thing you wanna say to me today?”
Rachel states, voice dripping with sarcasm. Ryan nears his eyes at her and scowls before retorting.
“I don’t have to say anything until the candles are lit and I get my slice. Besides, I don’t think you need any more reminders after screaming about it for the last three weeks.”
He says with a tone of bored annoyance. Rachel walks away from the door and up to her sleepy baby brother. She gives him a big smile, bends down to his level, and ruffles his hair. Despite being such a smart mouth, Ryan was still her cutest little brother, and Rachel loved picking with her brothers.
“Drop the sass and get downstairs; Mom wants everyone at the table for this.”
She says as Ryan bats her hand off him and walks to the staircase. With two out of three on their way to the table, Rachel goes back to Shawn’s door to secure her last prey. She bangs her fist on the door a few times, then shouts to her, most likely sleeping, brother.
“(Bang, Bang, Bang) SHAWN GET UP IT’S TIME FOR BREAKFAST!”
This gets no response, so Rachel tries again, hitting the door a little harder than before.
(Bang, Bang, Bang) “COME ON, DUDE, ITS CAKE TIME! YOU KNOW WE CAN’T START WITHOUT YOU!”
Still nothing; she’s about to try again when suddenly the door swings open, causing Rachel to back up. From behind the door, out steeps Shawn in a pair of torn sweatpants. His feet are bare, his toenails jagged, painted a nearly black shade of brown. His almost shoulder-length dark brown hair looked messy; the many layers fan out at the ends in a spiky fashion. The young man was huge, at least six feet tall, with a broad muscle-toned body. He sported a little hair along his pecs, arms, legs, and back, with a small trail of fuzz down his abdomen past the waistline of his sweatpants. His fists are covered with healed cuts and scraps, nails slightly long for males, and painted a murky dark brown. Despite all his bulk, Shawn’s cheeks were covered in freckles, pretty chubby, and looked soft compared to the rest of him. Mom called it the last of his baby fat, but Rachel liked to joke that it was leftovers from when he was still pudgy in grade school.
Shawn looked down at her, face holding no expression, but his general presence gave off an air of intimidation. Rachel was unfazed by this; being only a few inches shorter than him and his older twin sister, she’d always been unbothered by her brother’s natural sharpness as she could be just as scary as him and was more than capable of proving it. They have a mini staring contest in the hall, baring their teeth and little growling at each other before Shawn finally speaks.
“What?”
He says in a low groggy tone. Rachel smirks at his annoyance and chimes back.
“It’s birthday breakfast time.”
“I know.”
He spits back.
“Really? Then stop being a creepy loner and come eat.”
She quips back; Shawn groans in response, pushes past her, then quickly jogs downstairs. With her quest complete, Rachel jumps up and pumps her fist in the air in victory before running down the stairs behind Shawn. Once she’s back downstairs, Rachel's treated by the sight of her mom setting the cake down alongside some plates of eggs and sausage. Her dad was putting her tiny toddler sisters, Amber and Luna, in their high chairs. The little golden-haired girls are playfully pawing at their dad’s face, who just laughs it off as he locks them in. Meanwhile, her brothers are setting the table; Ryan’s got half the table set and is trying his best to scoot some of the plates to the other side of the table but can’t due to his short arms. That’s where big brother Shawn comes in and takes the plates and utensils off his hands, setting the rest of the table, then pulling out a chair for the little man.
Rachel watches over the scene and grins; this was how their mornings always went. Everybody helped each other so they could eat together in relative peace. And even when something went wrong, they always found a way to pull it together in the end.
“My big crazy wolfy family.”
Rachel thought to herself, a big smile across her face as she leaped down from the staircase to join them.
Oh, right almost forgot to mention this, but Rachel and her family are all werewolves. Almost everyone in Moonwood was a werewolf, either born one or turned into one. This town was a haven for their kind, as werewolves were one of the most unpredictable magical creatures. Born with some animal tendencies, high tempers, and giant appetites, werewolves could be pretty hard to handle when full grown. But they were also known for their carefreeness and resilience. Their senses are higher than other creatures, their bodies are more durable than most, and they can gain muscle, speed, and strength faster than any other species. Sure there were some drawbacks, like an allergy to wolfsbane, a underline temper, and the odd temperaments, but overall it was a pretty sweet life.
“Today, my life as a full-on werewolf finally begins!”
Rachel thought to herself as she stood at the head of the table next to Shawn while the family sang them the happy birthday song. Their mom’s clapping the beat, trying to keep everyone on rhythm while their dad’s gruff voice brings the song down an octave. Luna and Amber are clapping along and even babbling out a few of the right syllables as they sing. Ryan looks totally uninterested but keeps mouthing the words, so it doesn't drag out for too long. It was a messy performance, but still, it was one full of love.
When they’re done singing, Rachel and Shawn blow out the candles to some applause. With the formalities out of the way, Mama Mary Beth steps in and cuts the cake. Soon breakfast is served, and everyone’s getting their plate filled. The family’s enjoying their hearty breakfast with a side of cake, munching and chewing away, when their dad, Chuck, pauses in his meal and puts down his utensils.
“Shawn, Rachel”
He addresses his two oldest kids, tone flat but stern. Both teens immediately stiffen up and turn their attention to their dad, having heard that tone enough times throughout their lives to know he meant business. Now Chuck had always been a very imposing man with a large build, height of 6”6, and high muscle mass. His skin was a tinge darker than his kid’s, and he was covered in scars, both big and small, the most noticeable being the slash across his right cheek. His dark brown shoulder-length hair had started to gray and was sleek, accented by his short scruffy beard. And with his rank as an alpha werewolf and a seasoned police officer, he had seen plenty of horrors in his day and had grown numb to nearly all of them. Stone cold in the face of even the worst of things, Chuck was and is a force to be reckoned with. Especially when it came to his children, his young, naïve children. Chuck looks between them for a second, then continues.
“Happy birthday, you two. I’m proud to see how much you two have grown up and, thankfully that you’ve made it to this point in your lives happy and healthy.”
Rachel relaxes a bit, thinking Chuck had just come off a little too rough with his birthday wishes, but Shawn stays firm as he continues.
“And now that you two are finally about to get your transformation, there's a few things I need you to remind you two.”
Rachel completely relaxes and starts to wave off her dad’s worries.
“Yeah, yeah, we know that drill. Get out of town before dark, stay in the woods while the moon’s high, stay away from bats, don’t look at the sky until morning, etc, etc.”
Chuck lets her finish, then resumes his sermon.
“Yes, and while I want you to be mindful of all that, but there are still some things I need you two to understand.”
The brunette twins look at him, a little confused and intrigued. For their whole lives, Chuck had never shied away from telling them and their siblings about their culture as werewolves. He’d put numbing cream on their gums when their fangs started to come in, took them for runs in the woods to feel close to nature, and set up a home gym in their basement so they’d have somewhere to train their body and get out all the angry energy when their moods got too intense. He’d taught them everything there was to know about being a werewolf; what more was there to learn?
“Look, I know you’re both excited to get your wolf forms, but the process and the consequences of it are a lot more complicated than you think.”
Chuck puts his elbows on the table and balls his hands together over his plate. Propping his chin on his fists as he persists.
“Now your transformation isn’t gonna be something you can control; it's gonna happen fast; it's gonna hurt a lot, and it’s going to scare the shit outta you.”
“Chuck, language!”
Mary Beth cries while covering Ryan’s ears; the boy himself seems unbothered and continues eating his cake. Chuck stumbles a bit at his wife’s chastisement, rubbing the back of his head and giving her an apologetic look, to which Shawn and Rachel snicker at. When the awkwardness of Mary Beth’s interruption fades, Chuck gets back to business, clearing his throat to get everyone’s attention back and picking up where he left off.
“Anyway, your first transformation is gonna be nothing but rage. The kind that blinds you, it’s a type of rage so bad you feel it in deep your bones as your mind goes red. Do you remember how you felt when the lunar rage hit you last month?”
The twins nod in tandem; that night had been a truly absolutely horrible experience for the both of them.
Now the lunar rage wasn’t something new; all werewolves felt it from the beginning of their lives to the end, so it was a fairly common occurrence. It is a pure feeling of rage that hits when the moon is full agitating every werewolf under its glow. It could be so bad that many would transform out of pure fury, even if they had already learned how to control their powers. Despite that, it was still a joyous time to the town, as the full moon was when werewolves were at their most powerful. Thusly learning to conquer the moon’s influence was a grand milestone in the community but solemnly not for the faint of heart or weak-willed.
As the twins were getting closer and closer to maturing into full-fledged werewolves, the moon’s influence kept growing stronger and stronger on them. During the last full moon Rachel had collapsed in rage on the basement floor, crying and screaming, too overwhelmed by her fury to move. Meanwhile, Shawn ran out of the house and into the woods for hours, returning near sunrise with a dead fox between his fangs. The boy had no memory of how it happened or what he did, and the family didn't ask. This behavior continued until the full moon passed, leaving both brunettes physically and mentally exhausted. It had shaken the family up for a couple of weeks until they made peace, with their growing fury being just a part of their nature.
“Well, this is gonna be a lot worse. After night hits, you two will have ten minutes at most before you turn. And trust me, it’ll be painful, the transformation and the aftermath. You’ll have no control over your actions and will be hostile to anyone that comes at you, even each other.”
Shawn and Rachel looked at each other concerned; even though they weren’t the closest siblings, they were still twins. They’d had each other's backs since they were born; how could anything come between that? They turn back to their dad, a bit of fear in their eyes as their confidence wanes. True to her nature, Rachel tries to shake off her nervousness with a joke.
“So, We won’t get in trouble for beating the hell out of each other then?”
She jest, causing everyone to go silent except for Shawn, who angrily stands up from his chair and glares at her.
“For God’s sake, Rachel, can you stop being an ass for one second and take this seriously! We could actually kill someone or each other tonight if we’re not careful!”
He snarls, frustrated by his big sister's attitude towards the whole situation. Despite being the younger of the two, Shawn had always been picked up after Rachel and her antics. When a prank went wrong, he was the one that helped her escape the scene. If she coped a detention, he’d stay behind to wait for her. And when she got into fights with other kids on the playground or in the cafeteria, Shawn was always there to back her up! He always ALWAYS had her back when shit got real! But still, she never kept herself out of trouble.
Seeing the tension between his kids, Chuck clears his throat loudly, causing Shawn to turn his attention to him. When he does, Shawn sees the look in his dad’s eyes and stiffens. It was a look he got quite a lot growing, a calm but cold stare that said, “ Hold your anger, boy, or I’ll make you.” He took the hint and sat back down, allowing Chuck to continue.
“As I was saying, you two will need to get some distance from the town and anyone else who’s in their fury. I don’t want either of you trying to fight anyone in those forms until you can control ‘em. And I need you both to stay far, far away from Greg’s trailer. Cause if he catches you, especially on the full moon, you ain’t come back. Understood?”
The teens take a moment to respond, but after a moment, they agree to his guidelines.
“ Yes, sir.”
“Yeah, we’ll be careful, promise.”
Shawn states, followed by Rachel’s interjection. Chuck just nods his head and says
“Good.”
Before picking his fork back up and continues eating his breakfast, soon the rest of the family returns to eating, and the morning goes on in relative peace. It doesn’t take long for the lively pack to finish up their food, and they move on to the most important part of any teen’s birthday, gifts! Both got the standard fair of new clothes, small treats, little homemade crafts from the toddlers, and the like. But there were two standouts among the usual stuff, one little box wrapped in blue wrapping paper with a star pattern and one large box with black wrapping paper with a moon pattern. Each twin took their gift, ripped off the wrapping quickly, and were delighted to see what they’d gotten. For the school butterfly, Rachel, a nice camera to take pictures of all her summer fun. For Shawn, a telescope to watch the stars with. The two gleefully accept their gifts and, knowing their lovely work-from-home mother had to be behind this, wrap her up in a big thank-you hug. Shawn lifts her off her feet from the front with his embrace, and Rachel clings to her from behind, squeezing her mom's stomach chub as she wraps her arms around. Mary Beth accepts her rowdy kid's gratitude with joy, delighted to see her oldest pups so happy.
“WOAH! Easy now, don’t drop me, now! Mama’s a little too heavy to be fallen to the floor! Hahaha!”
She jokingly remarks while laughing before they put her back down.
When the afternoon rolls around, the family goes about their everyday activities. Ryan’s getting a head start on his summer homework, Chuck’s putting Amber and Luna down for their afternoon nap, Mary Beth’s doing the laundry with Shawn’s help, and Rachel was playing around with her new camera. Playing around with the settings and filters as she takes random pictures around the house. She’s taking pictures of their pug Romeo when her mom calls her down for lunch. Back at the table, Shawn was now dressed, wearing a short sleeve black t-shirt full of cuts with cameo shorts and black sneakers. The standout of his causal attire is his bronze nose ring, the only piece of jewelry he wears daily. In front of him is a plate of hotdogs hot off the grill. Rachel rushes into her seat and grabs one for her herself, unintentionally swiping the one Shawn was about to take. He groans to himself and grabs a different one instead. They’re eating when Rachel looks over at her brother, notes his change of clothes, and gets curious.
“So you heading out somewhere?”
She asks, head tilted towards him. Shawn takes the remainder of his second hotdog and eats in one bite before answering.
“Just going into town to get some supplies for tonight.”
He retorts, taking another hotdog and biting into it when he finishes his sentence. Rachel is intrigued by the idea and, needing an excuse to stitch her legs, decides to piggyback his plans.
“Cool, why don’t I come with? You know, help you carry your stuff and see if I need anything.”
She states with a smirk; Shawn rolls his eyes at her before returning his attention to his food.
“Sure.”
He replies in a dry tone. Once they’ve had their fill, Rachel and Shawn head to the front door. As Shawn unlocks it, Rachel calls out to their parents.
“Mom, Dad, we’re going into town for stuff! We’ll be back later!”
She shouts, announcing their departure; it doesn’t take long for Chuck to yell back.
“Alright, just be back before nightfall!”
He warns; Rachel smile and then yells back.
“Kay, we’ll be back soon! Love you! Mwah!”
She dramatically blows a kiss into the air, then walks out the door with Shawn. Once outside, they walk past their dad’s pickup truck and onto the dirt road. Their family lived in a house near the edge of the forest, closest to the town’s lake which itself was next to a mini mountain the people of Moonwood called the howling point. The two had never been to the top of the peak but had heard the howls of many werewolves coming from them.
“The highest point for the bravest heart and strongest of mind. Their howls carrying the legacy of lycanthrope onto the wind.”
That was what their dad would say whenever they asked what the deal was with that place. Rachel never understood what he meant by that and stopped asking a couple of years ago. As they walk onto the wooden contacting bridge hung over the river that cut the town in two, Rachel gets up on the railing. She stretches out her arms in a t pose to balance herself and tightrope walks across it. Shawn walked close to her, right arm slightest outstretched, ready to catch her if she lost her balance. At the end of the bridge, Rachel hops off the rail and lands on her feet with a bit of a stumble. Instead of balancing, Rachel rolls herself into a cartwheel. She does three before going into a powerful backflip. She launches herself into the air and lands on a pile of wood right next to a long abandoned lumber yard equipment. She chuckles to herself, incredibly proud of her impromptu gymnastics routine, while Shawn looks on with an uninterested gaze.
Welcome to Moonwood Mill, a small town somewhere between Evergreen Harbor and Brindleton Bay. This place was a lumber and mining town until business dried up many years ago. Most of the buildings were old and refurbished with old mining materials, giving the town a worn-down, angsty atmosphere. This made Moonwood easy to overlook, allowing the werewolves to live in peace aside from the bits of infighting between the two packs that ruled the town. Like their animal counterpart, werewolves tended to form packs for security and socialization, especially in more closed-off communities. The Moonwood Collective and The Wildfang Renegade were like lifestyle clubs with the protective nature of gangs, separated mostly by generations. The Collective was led by the elders who helped found the town and their peers, while the Renegades were made up of the newest generation; the leader was 24 years old. Whether you were in one of the packs or not, everyone in Moonwood respected them immensely. Rachel and Shawn had grown up around both, as their parents were friends with members of both for years. And now that they were finally old enough, it was only a matter of time before they’d join either.
“I should probably hit up Rory soon. See when we can start the initiation to join ‘em.”
Rachel mused to herself as they walked past the library to the town square. Taking a left past the square’s moon dail, the kids finally reach their destination, the Grimtooth bar. It was the only watering hole in town and the place to get a drink or pick up unique tonics and items for many annoyances being a werewolf could bring. The place was made of three buildings; a retrofitted bus that housed the bar, a three-sided shed with a small stage used for open mic night, and the furthest from the road were the doors to a bunker with graffiti of a wolf head on it. That bunker behind those doors was a special hideaway only full-fledged werewolves could enter due to some age-old magic placed on it. How it works only the elders know, but needless to say, the whole area was a haven for werewolves.
The two walk past the open barbed wire gates onto the dirt lot, Shawn heading directly for the bar and Rachel making a dash for the stage area, where several people are chatting at a nearby picnic table. At the bar, the young bartender Celene Lopez is cleaning off the counter when Shawn walks up to her. The blonde smiles at the boy and greets him warmly.
“Well look who it is! Happy Birthday, Shawnie Boy; what can I get you?”
Celene chirps. Despite being one of the newer residents and the only human in town, she had always acted as an older sister figure to the younger kids. She’d only lived there for a few years but had grown a decent repertoire with almost everyone due to her drink-mixing and elixir-making skills. Speaking of elixir, Shawn sits down on one of the bar stools and points to the “specialty items” section of the menu.
“I need two werebies tonics, a few things of dried wolfsbane, and some healing salve if you have it.”
The boy asks in an even-tempered tone. Celene smirks at him, a little impressed at the young man’s foresight and calmness in the face of such a dangerous situation.
“Okay, let me see what I’ve got on tap.”
She states before turning away from the bar and moves deeper into the bus to look for the materials. Shawn’s order took much longer to fill than expected, as Celene had run out of most of her pre-made remedies due to high demand and had to make Shawn’s from scratch. As he waits, Shawn pulls out his headphones and listens to some music while scrolling through his phone. He occasionally looks up to check the sun's position and watch his sister chatting up some of the Renegades.
“So then I said if you’re gonna call me freaky for like my meat raw, then what the hell are you doing eating sushi!”
He hears her joke; this lands her some loud booming laughter from Rory, who doubles over as she starts wheezing.
“Seriously?”
Shawn thinks with an eye roll as he turns his attention back to his phone. By the time Celene finishes his order, it’s dusk, and the sun’s close to disappearing past the horizon. Shawn takes his goods, placed in a sturdy canvas bag, and ties them to his belt loop while trying to rush Rachel away from the bar. Unfortunately for him, she’s too busy waving off the other patrons.
“Bye, Rory! Say hi to Lou for me whenever he decides to get his ass up!”
Rachel yells as Shawn’s literally pulling her past the barbed wire gates and back onto the road. After saying her last goodbye, Rachel finally turns back towards the dirt road.
“You know I can use my own feet, right? You don’t need to drag me around like that.”
She quips. Shawn scowls at her causal attitude and yells at her.
“I WOULDN’T HAVE TO IF YOU COULD EVER GET YOUR ASS IN GEAR AND FUCKING MOVE!”
Rachel’s taken aback by this, but instead of trying to cool down the situation, she matches his anger. Getting in his face and yelling right back at him.
“WELL, EXCUSE ME FOR BEING SOCIETY, UNLIKE YOUR LONER ASS! MAYBE JUST LEAVE NEXT TIME INSTEAD OF JUST STALKING AROUND LIKE A CREEP!”
Now, this gets Shawn fuming; he can feel his blood pressure rise and his skin burn up as they continue to fight.
“OH, GROW THE FUCK UP, RACHEL! THIS ISN’T ABOUT ME; THIS IS ABOUT YOU HAVING YOUR HEAD SO FAR UP YOUR ASS THAT YOU CAN'T SEE THE FUCKING OBVIOUS!”
Shawn snarls, curling his fists so right his palms start to bleed. Rachel growls in response before barking back in his face.
“AND WHAT THE HELL’S THE OH’ SO OBVIOUS THING I’M MISSING?!”
Shawn shoves his hand into his face as his frustration grows into a burning headache. He’s holding his head right, blood smearing onto his cheeks, as he finally gets to the point.
“THAT THE DAMN SUN IS DOWN, AND THE MOON’S ABOUT TO-
He doesn’t finish his sentence as the anger and pain become too much. Shawn falls to the ground and pushes his head to int the dirt. Rachel steps back, her anger mixing with confusion and concern as she watches her brother convulse on the dirt road. As he growls in pain, Rachel notices a red glow coming off his skin. She reaches down to try and comfort him, only to see the same glow on her arm. Not only that, but her nails had begun to harden, her limbs ached, and her skin was starting to burn. She could feel her teeth sharpening in her mouth, while the bone and muscle in her jaw began to shift unnaturally.
Growing sacred, Rachel does the one thing she knew she shouldn’t to confirm what’s happening to them. She looks up to the sky. It’s a beautiful clear night. The stars are bright, and the moon is starting to show, glowing brightly in the night sky.
“No.”
Rachel whispers to herself before falling to the ground, her whole body racked with pain. Dad was right. This was way worse then last month; this rage, the feeling of her organ squeezing, the burning aches. This was hell… pure hell! As her vision starts to fade into a blurry red, she feels a hand reach out and touch her head. She can barely lift her head to see them, but when she does, Rachel’s fear only grows. It’s Shawn; though she could scarcely see him through her own blurred vision, his scent was still unmistakable. But what she could see shook her to her core; her little twin brother was almost completely covered in thick red smoke. The movement underneath was terrifying as his body grew and twisted into a new form. This was the beginning of the transformation, a horrific transformation.
Soon her eyes move up to his face, and Rachel auditable weeps. Her stubborn but strong hearted brother had red smoke and tears pouring out of his eyes. His doe eyes, now a burning gold with deep red pupils, could barely focus as he tried to speak through gritted teeth.
“Ra…chel…ru..RUN!”
The word run turns into a rawr as he throws his head back to the ground, trying his hardest to give her time. This plea shocks Rachel back to her senses; she fumbles to her feet and takes off running. As she sprints toward the bridge, Rachel hears the howls of other Werewolves in town. Her heart is pounding as her feet slam onto the bridge; she can hear every creek in the wood, smell the river water below her, and taste the musk of the many wolves racing through the town on the air. She makes a beeline for the wood, trying to stay as far away from everyone as possible. But before she can get too far into the brush, Rachel falls to the ground again. She digs her nails into the dirt as the red smoke overtakes her, and her body shifts. Everything hurt; her veins are on fire, as every muscle in her body contorts.
When the smoke finally cleared, Rachel wasn’t herself anymore. Her body had broadened, all her nails were claw-like and jet black, her body was covered in a thick coat of light brown and sliver fur, and her head was replaced with one that looked somewhere between man and wolf. Her new body stretched upward, much like a waking dog. And with her head turned skyward, Rachel opens her now glowing yellow eyes and howls to the moon. Finally joining the chorus of wolf children, past, present, and future.
“Awoooo!”
Her howl carried on the wind; Mary Beth felt a shiver ran down her back as she heard her call. She had just put Luna and Amber down for the night and was trying her best to keep her own fury in check, but that howl. As soon as she left her youngest’s bedroom, Mary Beth ran toward the front door. She’s about to unlock it when someone grabs her from behind, pull her arm away from the doorknob and taking hold of her waist. She turns around and sees her husband stone-faced as he holds her back.
“Don’t do it.”
He says, his voice cold but almost pleading. Mary Beth shakes her head before turning back to the door.
“Those are My pups, Chuck. Our babies out there, and there ain’t no way in hell I’m sittin here while they’re hollering in pain like this!”
She hisses as she tries to break away from his hold. Chuck doesn’t waver instead he pulls her close, holding her tightly against his chest.
“Mary, I know how much you love the kids but there’s nothing we can do for them now. We have to let this happen, they need to learn how to control the beast on their own now or it’ll ruin them.
Chuck states in a even tone, a hand reaching up and caressing her shoulder while he rest his head in the crick of her neck.
“But-But-”
Mary tries to protest but burst into tears before she make any argument. She knew this would happen, she knew the day they were born that this night would come, and that this was the only way to let their powers mature properly. Mary Beth had lived through those growing pains herself, she’d been there and survived it all but still her heart ached for her babies. As she breaks down, Chuck never lets her go, holding on to her as if his life depended on it. Desperately trying to keep it together, all while silently praying his oldest will see sunrise.
Meanwhile, Rachel runs through the woods on all four at a breakneck pace. She crashes through logs and rips rocks out of her path as she mindlessly zooms. She stops suddenly, putting her head up and sniffing the air. Having picked up a new scent, she follows it to a seemingly empty patch of grass. Sniffing close to the ground, Rachel can tell she’s close to her target and digs her claws into the earth. After pulling u mounds and mounds of dirt she finally reaches her prey, a pair of rabbits hiding in their burrow. The poor things are paralyzed with fear at the sight of the monster above them, but before Rachel can show her place in the food chain, a growl from behind catches her attention.
It was another werewolf, sandy brown fur with a cream-colored mussel and just about the same size as her. Eyes burning with hunger, he looked at the burrow, then at Rachel, and growled again, clearly wanting her game for himself. Rachel’s not having any of that, she turns and growls fiercely in his face. Who did this wolf think he was coming in and trying to pouch her meal?!
Unfortunately, the other wolf doesn’t back down, snapping at her neck with his sharp teeth, trying to frighten her away. But Rachel is just as dauntless in wolf form as she was in human, she swipes him with her claws and draws blood from his arm. A few droplets is all it takes for a brawl between the two to spark. They bite, swipe, claw, and growl at each other, their tussle taking them from deep in the wood to the edge of the without either noticing. Their right on its banks, and just as Rachel’s about to dig her claws into the other wolf's eyes the sound of a howl breaks through their furry and catches their attention.
Up on the howling point, there stood a midnight black and dark gray-furred werewolf. He was big, tall, intimidating, and oddly enough calm as he stared up at the moon, letting out another haunting howl.
Rachel was mesmerized by the creature’s presence, while the other wolf fled at the sight of it, knowing if it came this way, he’d likely be outmatched. As Rachel gazed, something about this wolf felt familiar, like she had known it as long as she had known the fury. And when its head turned and met her gaze, she understood. The same glowing gold that filled her with so much worry only hours earlier now gave her relief. The warm glow in them and the soft smile on his face told her the won’t thing she needed to hear.
“Everything’s gonna be okay; we made it.”
Hours later, dawn broke, and the many werewolves returned to their human forms, emerged from the woods, and headed home to rest the night's wild antics off. Chuck had been waiting on the porch since the sun reached the horizon while Mary Beth got up to make breakfast for everyone. He sips his coffee as he looks out over the land before and from the brush just past the howling point, he sees his kids making their way home. Both were a little bruised and beaten, probably hungrier than all hell, but alive and well. Rachel spots him first and waves to him, cheerful, while Shawn just gives him a knowing nod. The moment they reach the house, Chuck wraps an arm around each of them and pulls them in for a hug. He gives both a kiss on the forehead and holds them tight, almost afraid they’d break if he lets go.
“Good work, you two; welcome to the pack.”
He says fondly before ushering them into the house for a well-deserved meal. The night had been long, but they had survive, and now, it's time to rest. Their journey had only begun, but for now, it was time to celebrate their first steps.

“hey heartbreaker, you'll never work in this town again”
I think someone is impersonating me online. Could be a joke. But if you talk to someone online and they say they are me, they aren't. I don't talk to anyone online. Texas is fun. We got some sick clandestine hoodies. They've got bats on the hoods and all. Sidenote: I love nickplan. Sorry my words don't have the same weight they usually have right now. Usually they feel stuck in my throat, today it feels okay inside my skin. Oh yeah chicagoland. We want to roadtest some of our new songs so we will be playing around unannounced on shows at really small venues in the next few months. If you snooze you lose. You never know what show we may play.

“we love life”
Texas was sex. Dallas being the most amazing. Its hot down here. We played with a band called DV8, this really young band (13-15). They were rad. The bassists bass was bigger than him. Me some rad kids in arkansas, they were starry-eyed and made me tongue-tied. I've been writing a lot lately. All my old charms and curses are back in full swing. I can't wait to get home. Well take these hearts and rename them dangerous and invincible. Well make them too hard to break.

“a man-made monster with every human emotion (clandestine explained 1)”
So a lot of people have been asking us about these hoodies and shirt with bats on them. It is not a clothing company. It is not a new band. When I was younger I had this same nightmare over and over again- so my friend tim biedron and I made a story of it (www.timbiedron.com to check out his art). The story is finished and we are waiting on some of the illustration. You may love it or hate it but its something that was stuck inside my head for a long time. We will be selling shirts and skatedecks online soon (www.clandestineindustries.com) and the story will be available this summer. Take the time to check it out if you get a chance.

“in case you're keeping score”
Being in a band is the ultimate friendship ruiner. Went to two shows tonight. In addition to all the smoke got to hang with: akas, beautiful mistake, dld, apo, senses fail and rufio. Being in a band is the best friendship maker. I am getting this awesome bass custom made, black with a red pick guard, no knobs, wired "on". I think it got me weird, so I dyed my hair red and black. Its sex or maybe not. I have 80 pages of lyrics to wade through. New songs soon. New love soon. Style update: I'm only gonna wear little polo tees with the collars up from now on. The clandestine webstore is almost up. I want to get "mom" tattoo for mothers day.

The Origin Of Hokuto No Pen! (hi!)
It's honestly surreal to me that I'm going to be turning 27 on January 4th, 2023. My life has gone through so many changes. My father recently passed away on Christmas, and the 15th anniversary of when I started to become serious about being an animator was only some days ago.
I have been watching animation since I was a child, the first being Disney's Pinocchio. While I was mesmerized by the lifelike qualities of the characters and the way they moved, I'll admit I was sort of impervious to the storytelling of most western animation and some anime here and there. Part of it, was that Pinocchio is literally the greatest animated film in the world, and finding anything that wasn't downhill from there was hard. The animation is flawless, the gags timeless, and the characters incredibly appealing. However I was starting to get sick of these animated western movies that all had the same premises (I'll go into this in a later post. Look for Talking Animals, Talking Objects, and Superheroes.)
I certainly went through a manga and Pokemon phase like many children at that age, where I was genuinely interested in the idea of making a comic in the style and format of a manga, but most of my ideas then were sort of childish and cringeworthy like most elementary and middle schoolers. I loved playing Gameboy games, and valued my prized collection of Pokemon. I have so many fond memories of taking my Gameboy to summer camp to play Pokemon Leaf Green, and trading with my friends. I was certainly making art at the time, but was more focused on having fun and had no clear goals. After all, I was still a kid.
I clearly remember a big change culturally in 2006 when the English dub of Naruto premiered on Toonami for the first time. It was like a genuine break I saw from the same themes and characters I was seeing in western animation. I was just in shock that there was this cool TV show where there were these dudes flying around fighting in mid-air, with all these powers, tremendous worldbuilding, and of course loud grunge music that blasted every time it aired on TV.
At that point I had come to a very strong conclusion that I wanted to be a manga artist. So I spent most of my free time writing stories, but not in the way most other people were doing in. I would write the stories in a very simulated fashion, much like a director does takes of a stage play. I would treat it like I was a kid playing house, and I played the roles of all the characters, would voice them out, and truly test the characters I was writing to see how they could grow and become more interesting. Little did I know there was a film out there that would absoulutly blow my mind and make me drop being a manga artist all together in favor of making animation.
It was when I was 12 years old in December of 2008, I remember being invited to a friend's birthday party, where we watched two films: Hideyuki Kurata's original video animation, Read or Die, and Steamboy.
We watched maybe the first part of Steamboy before we got distracted by cake, but it was Read or Die that literally changed the course of my life forever. For the first time, I saw an animated story that moved me like nothing else had in my life, and created a burning fire in my heart that since has literally never left me.
To me, Hideyuki Kurata was a master at animated storytelling, and he made you feel like your were watching magic you could not explain. Not that it couldn't be broken down or explained, but you were so entertained you couldn't be bothered. It seemed like this man could make a story out of anything, and do so flawlessly. In a moment of being exposed to him, I realized that if I wanted to I could create media that had that kind of impact on myself. I wanted more than anything to do what he was doing.
In the following years, I became obsessed with Read Or Die and the media surrounding it, and began to research Hideyuki and his artistic process, which were like a guiding light to me in tough times.
It was around that time that I had started writing a multimedia project called Inspector Obvious. I kept writing scripts, rewriting, and figure drawing and creating art every single day. I would be submitting my portfolio to animation colleges in hopes that I could learn how to become a better animator. I worked hard in art classes, but was extremely bored and wanted more stimulation and more knowledge about animating from real animators.
I studied Japanese and even visited Japan in high school to the greatest of culture shock, and took my after school art classes as seriously as I could for an average high schooler.
Later in life, after various personal struggles I will refer to in another blogpost with content warnings, I finally worked up the courage to apply for an animation school despite the challenges I faced, and was accepted into Don Bluth University in 2020. I studied under Don Bluth for an entire year over zoom, along with a small class of wonder artists and animators at various skill levels. Don, despite being incredibly old, showed full mental sharpness and attention to each and everyone of us. For the first time, I got real advice about what I was doing wrong, and learned how to think like an animator, more so than I ever thought before.
Studying with Don Bluth changed my life. Since 2021 when I graduated from the program I have been working on my demo reel, and my Inspector Obvious multimedia project which I hope to share with the world someday.
This blog is a culmination of my adventures, and my specific knowledge I have gathered from various old animators overtime, and my nerdy rants about anime or whatever else I think people should know. I feel like I worked really hard to gain this knowledge, and want to share it with everyone.
I also taught myself how to cel paint, and will be discussing my methodology in detail on here.
