Na'vi names
Hello! I had one bad time looking for names for my na’vi oc, so I compiled names and words to make it easier for other people to find some. This post consists of three sections, names in characters from the movies, games, and comics/graphic novels, words I think could do well as names by vibe (and their proper meanings), and words I smushed together to make new names. I do not speak/learn the na’vi language, so everything here is subject to error. In case you speak/study it, and see a mistake in grammar, please do let me know, especially on the last section. I tried, with limited knowledge, to keep things gramatically correct, and constructive criticism is appreciated. All words used on the last two sections come from the learnnavi.org dictionary.
As always, feel free to use this post as reference, but don’t repost it.
Proper names in characters/sources
These names are compiled from characters shown on the movies, games, and comics/graphic novels. They were divided by clan, and have markers for which gender the person bearing it is identified as. Some names did not comply with the na’vi language sounds, so I adapted them, and the original form is in parenthesis on the side. I encourage people to just give names regardless of gender because it’s fun. A side note, though, is that some clans, like the li’ona and the ni’awve, have been uncanonized. They’re still here, though, because I say so.

Statement of coral banks, regarding the appearances of strange symbols in her home.
I have always lived in Sukal you know, well had but anyways. Lived there all my life. Had my first birthday and my graduation there. Would've had my marriage there if it wasn't for those .. things.
I met Carlos in the fall of 2015. Laid my eyes on him and got lost in his freckled face, his deep blue eyes. Those eyes, I cannot tell you. I have never met a man with eyes as blue as Carlos. They are striking and utterly drownable. Knew from the first moment he was mine. It was just a matter of wooing him. He was an .. interesting man. He had many interesting tastes. He liked death metal music while also liking meditation and yoga. He loved collecting bones. Not like people bones, no no. Like small animal bones. Dinosaur teeth, deer antlers, rabbit skulls. I thought it was cool! I thought it was..rustic.
He also loved collecting odd art. You can imagine what the inside of his home looked like. It was a small house. One of those van houses which you can drive around with. But the inside, every wall and every surface had *something*. Be it an artistic tapestry or a case of odd statues he found in some old forgotten corner of amazon. There was barely any space to walk much less live! Now that I think about it, I don't remember seeing a kitchen in there..
Anyways Carlos and I started dating by spring. It was as you'd expect, we hung out, went on dates just has a really nice time altogether. All this time though while I visited his van a few times, he refused to come to my apartment. Always made some excuse or the other about it. At first I thought maybe he was being shy but I had been to his house before and it just felt quite weird you know. But I let it be. It wasn't a big thing. So if he was comfortable that way I would leave him be.
The trouble started the day I went to his home to pick him up for a surprise date I had planned.(It was our 6 month anniversary and i wanted to make it special!). I got there and I knocked at his door, even sung a little jingle about how it was me. No answer. I figured maybe he was sleeping. I knocked again, louder. Still no answer. I tried ringing him. I heard his phone from inside the van. So he *was* inside. Was he ignoring me? Was he mad? I didn't know, I didn't think I did something wrong. And even if i did, he should talk to me about it, not ignore me and sulk in a corner. Communication is key in a relationship! Yes we should talk! So I knocked again and asked him to open the door so we could talk. I remember being so aware in that moment of how loud my voice was. Coz the atmosphere around me had gone utterly silent. Was it always like that? Or did it shift just now? It was so silent that I couldn't even hear the sound of vendors in the main street. All I could hear was my breathing and a slow moaning creak as the door of the van opened.
'Carl?' I whispered, scared to break the quiet for some reason. But I got no answer. I carefully stepped in the door. The inside was, as I recalled, covered in tapestries and bones, but no sign of Carlos. I debated if I should stay in my boyfriend's house or would it be an invasion of privacy when my gaze felt on a tapestry by the bed. It was a muted green and looked old. Older than many tapestries around. Woven in it was the shape of a eagle, swooping to catch its prey. As I looked closer, the thing it was trying to catch didn't look very much like a mouse but more like a man. I stepped closer to the bed and saw that the man had a terrified expression on his face and his body had chunks of meat missing and his eyes were very very blue.
I left the van very quickly. I messaged Carlos to msg me back when he got time and decided to spend my 6 month anniversary in the concrete walls of my apartment. Maybe it was just an odd tapestry and nothing more and I was overreacting. But my head was spinning and my eyes were starting to hurt so I thought the best thing for me would be to rest. And I'd feel better tomorrow!
I did not feel better the next day. My headache had worsened significantly so I had to go down to the chemist a couple blocks down to get some medicine.
On the way I saw a little kid playing with a dog and when I got close, she looked up and said 'Hello Coral'. She had deep deep blue eyes. And she stared at me.
Needless to say, I felt disturbed knowing the earlier events but reasoned maybe she is a neighbor's kid who I'm just not remembering. Yes that must be it. I nodded and walked forward. Next was an older man in a suit. He stopped, looked at me with those same deep blue eyes. 'Hello Coral' That was..3 days ago. Every where I go, people just know me somehow. And they stare with Carlos eyes. All of them I cannot go outside anymore.do you know how difficult the train journey was here?? I don't know what is happening. You are the only person I know who doesn't have blue eyes anymore.
Even my mother refuses to talk to me. She just stares. She just says hello.
Statement ends.
-JM
Huh…It’s interesting to see how something you thought you loved could just as easily turn into something you hate or become scared of. That’s definitely…an intriguing statement. I’ll have to look into this.

Before VS. After

DURG & DHAKOBA trek near Junnar
On 20-08-2023 Sunday, we 3 friends decided to trek to a new place, that had never been visited by any one of us.
The blog post is divided into 4 parts:
How did we go?
Time line.
Experience in photos & videos.
Expenses.
HOW DID WE GO?
Durg & Dhakoba are two separate places marked here on Google maps. They both can be trekked separately or together (as we did). It is type of a range trek, where the mountains connect the 2 places. Here the two places are on the top of the mountain and are connected by an undulating plateau.
Area: Junnar.
Base villages: Ambe for Durg & Amboli for Dhakoba. Villages near Ambe are Ambe Hatwij and Bhivade Khurd.
Since the base villages of Durg and Dhakoba are different and on opposite sides, the start and end points of our route is different. Thus the coming & going journey are different and trek route seems complicated.
Route: Kalyan - Malshej Ghat - Junnar - Ambe - Durg - Dhakoba - Darya Ghat - Amboli - Junnar - Banker Phata - Malshej Ghat - Ambernath.
Kalyan railway station - Kalyan ST bus depot - Bus going to Akola dropped us at Madh - tumtum or tempo ride from Madh to Junnar - Junnar ST bus depot - Bus to Sukal Wadhe - Alight from this bus going to Ingloon village at this point . The bus will go to Pimparwadi.
Now you are already on the top of the mountain once you alight from the bus. The steep ascent from Bhivade Khurd village was not needed to be climbed due to the bus journey.
TREK ROUTE: GPS route map is uploaded here on Wikiloc.
The shape of the GPS route is like a table. You start at one of th e legs and then cross the flatness, to reach the opposite leg of the table, because base villages of Durg and Dhakoba are separate and on opposite sides of each other.
Trailhead: Namdevwadi in AMBE village > Durga mandir - base of Durg - Dhakoba base - Dhakeshwar (Dhakoba) temple - Darya Ghat - Bhivade Budruk (trek ended) - Amboli.
Return route: Bus from Amboli to ST Junnar bus depot - jeep hired - to Bankar Phata - car hired - to Ambernath - rickshaw to Ambernath railway station - train - Dadar - home.
Grade: moderate to difficult, because of its length. Almost 14 km walk through the plateau on the mountain top, which has gentle uphills and downhills. The plateau was shrouded in clouds and visibility was low in the monsoon season. The descent from Darya Ghat to Amboli is steep and slippery, riddled with caves and waterfalls.
Guide is a must, as the forest is dense and covered in fog. The route is long. There are many trails, which may mislead the trekker. A villager knowing the path can be the best and safest company.
TIME LINE:
19-08-2023, Saturday.
Second-last train from Dadar to Kalyan.
Spend the night at Kalyan.
20-08-2023, Sunday.
05:00 Kalyan ST bus depot to Madh by Akola bus.
07:30 breakfast at Madh.
08:30 reach Junnar ST depot by tempo from Madh.
10:00 reach Ambe by bus to Sukal Wadhe near Inglun.
10:30 - trek starts from Ambe Hatwij/ Namdevwadi.
16:15 - trek ends near Amboli via Darya Ghat.
16:30 - ST bus from Amboli to Junnar.
17:15 reach Junnar ST bus depot.
17:45-18:00 - jeep drops us at Bankar Phata.
18:15-18:30 to 20:30 - car ride from Bankar Phata to Ambernath.
20:50 - train to Dadar from Ambernath.

I. PAMAGAT NG TULA Ang Bato II.

Noir to Rafi for #25 of the most recent prompt list
“I can’t believe you talked me into this.”
“I can’t believe you talked me into this.”
Rafi laughed. “Live a little, sir!” She thunked a tankard of ale in front of Noir, taking a long pull from her own tankard. Noir ignored how Rafi’s stance emphasized her generous curves, or the fact the two prostitutes in the corner of the bar were wearing more than Noir’s subordinate. Rafi was old enough to make her own decisions about her time on shore leave. So long as her actions didn’t come back to bite the crew, Noir didn’t care to know.
Though, Noir would like to know how Rafi managed to convince every woman on the Akatokuro to go bar hopping. Even Aria was there, and Noir could count on one hand the number of drinks the stern cook drank while under Noir’s command!
“Go rescue Aria before she gives her admirer a concussion.”
Rafi craned her head to stare at the bar and grimaced. The crew knew that dark expression very well. It often preceded Aria introducing the nearest blunt object to the offender’s head. For the unfortunate man in question, that meant either Aria’s shot glass or the bar itself.
Noir didn’t hold much hope of preventing a fight. All of her female crewmembers had a low tolerance for unwanted attention.
Thirty seconds later, an irate Aria slammed the man’s head into the bar. His friends leapt to their feet with roars of anger. Shizuka, Gwyn, and Lara flanked Aria and Rafi, casually threatening in a way the men three heads taller were not.
A good place to end the night, Noir decided. Starting a fight was not the way to stay on the barkeep’s good side, and Noir would prefer to come back in the future. They served good ale.
Why did she let Rafi talk her into this?
