As Good As Your Word. Some photographs from the Felixstowe Port protest a few weeks ago. After speaking with many of the workers that were protesting, I got to the heart of what was going on. I heard stories of broken promises and false information being delivered about profits and their pay, this wasn't a scenario of greedy dockers like what the papers were portraying but more the opposite. Those at the top gave minimal pay rises, if any, to a lot of workers with the guise of not being able to meet what they had been promised due to Covid having hit the port hard, but then after the most recent quarter, the published profits and bonuses of senior management showed a completely different story. They had made profits into the millions and this wasn't then shared down the chain as promised. You're only ever as good as your word and once that trust is broken, it takes a lot of time to rectify the wrongs.
