Fooduary Day 3: Strawberry Shortcake

Apparently strawberry shortcakes got their whipped cream variation in France, 1910. As the quintessential unemployed artist I’ve worked in a few kitchens and I’ve made dozens of Strawberry shortcakes. Though technically they were strawberry shortcakes in name only because they were technically strawberry angel food cakes. Either way they are delicious, and deeply nostalgic. Eating strawberry shortcakes in the peak of their summer season? Local? You wouldn’t believe how sweet they get.

Kori finally got her yearly main ref update!

I wanted to give her a reference without text, and also matching the style the Myrios Series official illustrations are in. It includes her varsity jacket outfit, her main accessories, and a few of her smaller details.

RIP The Strawberry Succubus

The Strawberry Succubus was one of three files that I lost a week or so ago. It was incredibly disappointing to open my computer and see that the hours of hard work had been eaten by the tech void. I scrambled to try and find the saved files that I was certain had been organized amongst the other projects that I’ve had going on. When I couldn’t find any of the files I decided it was time to take a break because I was so discouraged by the loss. I didn’t want to draw at all because I had been so engrossed in this project that I wad unmotivated by anything else. I decided that as much as I loved this sweet little fruit lady I wouldn’t try to redraw her any time soon because I would be disappointed in the fact that it wasn’t exactly like the original. I’ve been working hard to get inspired again after the disappointment. I’ve been doing self care, and going out with my friends to expose myself to things that motivate me. I have been creating new things, and I am excited to see how they turn out, I just worry about losing them. But I can’t let that stop me from making new things because the world won’t stop turning just because I got a lil bummed out.
