Glancing at the bell tucked against your thigh, you frown. “No, I only rang it twice. Or, wait…shit, I did ring it three times.” You exhale, sliding your bookmark between the pages and offering an apologetic smile. “I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to worry you.”

“S’okay.” He plops down onto the bed, careful not to jostle your elevated leg. “Just…give me a sec to get my heartrate back down to normal.” Hand to his chest, he takes deep, exaggerated breaths that have you giggling. 

“I mean, I could find something urgent,” you tease. “Maybe I’ll try walking without the crutches, or I can take out my stitches…”

Eddie’s nose wrinkles in a combination of disbelief and disgust. “Bullshit,” he counters. 

“Bullshit?”

“Bull. Shit.” He grins, gently poking your bicep. “You got all queasy that time you had to pull out a splinter, and you expect me to believe you can remove your own stitches?”

You let out a defeated groan. “Ugh, fine.” He knows you too well, and you love him for it. 

He gives you a triumphant kiss on the cheek and starts towards the kitchen. “Anything else the fair maiden needs while I’m up? More water? Ginger ale? Perhaps some champagne and caviar?” His eyes light up mischievously at the last suggestion. 

“I’m not supposed to drink on these meds,” you quip, playing right into his charade. 

“We’ll take a raincheck on the champagne, then.”

You shift back slightly, wincing as pain shoots through your leg. The surgery hurt more than the injury, and part of you wishes you had just muddled through and hobbled around instead of getting it fixed. 

Eddie returns a few minutes later with toast that’s just the right shade of burnt and slathered in strawberry jelly. He has a glass of water in his other hand, though you hadn’t asked for any. 

He places both on the snack table he’s set up next to the bed before reaching over and grabbing the bell. He rings it one time, loud and purposeful. 

“Can I help you?”

Nodding, he sits down. “I’m bored and need someone to talk to.” He rests his head on his pillow and pouts. “Entertain me?”

“There’s not much going on here.” You shrug, scanning the room for a conversation topic. He’s been taking care of you nonstop, and surgery recovery doesn’t exactly make for riveting discussions. Your eyes land on a magazine. “I read some interesting articles in Cosmo, I guess.”

“Oh, yeah?” Eddie waggles his brows. “Anything spicy?”

He had been planning this perfect date for weeks since she said yes. It was going to be a picnic on the beach (her favorite place to be) right at sunset (her favorite time to be there). It’s such a picturesque moment and you never want it to end. But unfortunately, like the champagne and snacks; the film finishes. Only, the trio have more plans. Of course they do. You’re stripped bare and within mere minutes they have your eyes rolling back in your head and your hands grasping onto whatever they can find. i think delilah/harry and alec/eden probably watch the bbc firework show on tv! delilah and harry have champagne and cuddle, and alec and eden do the same after work! eden also spends a lot of time listening to alec be mad over fireworks and honestly? she cant blame him!! i imagine when mathias is born, though, they give him a lil party with sparkling apple juice then pass out at 10pm

Boba Flavour Profile, Thoughts and Tips

Something something a list to organise my boba flavours and shit. Not ranked yet. Just organising flavour profile, explaining flavour and giving tips. Feel free to reblog with your additions, tips and commentary. I don't mind reblogging with commentary or using tags. I'll read all.

Keep in mind that I am not specifically talking about the bigger branded ones like Chattime or Each-A-Cup but instead Night Market ones. Not sure if this tip can extend to Mall and Branded Boba stalls but can be attempted if available.

All is based on my own opinion and experience.

List of good/decent boba tea flavours:

Original pearl milk tea - tastes like teh tarik in a sense. OG is good. The boba balls absorb flavour well

Champagne - it's blue and good. Non-alcoholic and refreshing. Not too sweet or sour.

Strawberry (Sour) - imagine strawberry ice cream but with boba. Sometimes has the seeds texture in it. Good texture

Ice cream - it's blue. Tastes good. My comfort drink for a few years before I started trying other stuff. Haven't tasted it in a while so I forgot the exact taste of it but it's close with champagne

Butterfly Pea - sour aligned. Think lemon but pretty and very refreshing. Great for sunny and hot afternoons

Brazil Cuppocino - to summarise, coffee with boba. Can feel weird cause it's like drinking iced coffee but with extra texture (ice blended and boba). Pretty okay. Not sure if it gives caffeine side effects since I have no idea how caffeine affects me.

Lavender - imagine perfume but as a drink and with boba. Extra points for literally tasting gay. Also the drink is purple

List of boba tea flavours to avoid:

Mint - it's like drinking toothpaste. Very minty and sharp.

Brown sugar - way too sweet (good for people who has a sweet tooth tho)

Other Tips/Misc. Notes:

Do NOT drink boba with milk during/before/after meal time. It will actually make you feel really REALLY full and sick. Milk is known to make you full. I made that mistake. Don't.

Also I don't know about types of milk affecting the taste of boba. Like almond milk and stuff. Never had that before and I don't drink boba with milk. Reblog your addition with results if you start experimenting. I'm curious.

Try the smallest size first to get used to the drink and flavour. Also cause it's cheaper and not that big of a waste if you hate the taste

Boba pearls can be switched out to jelly if you don't like boba pearls. There's other options for pearls too.

Switching boba pearls to other options can and will change the entire experience of a drink since some has flavours and different textures (jelly tends to be harder and sour aligned while the red exploding ones kinda burst and also tastes sour).

Liking a flavour in something else does not necessarily mean you'll like it in boba. Taste really become different. (I love mint but god fuck mint boba.)

Drink comes either ice-blended or regularly iced. I personally like ice-blended cause I think regularly iced kinda affects the taste when the ice melts but could try to experiment what you prefer.

Put your drink in the freezer when you're not drinking it. Reminder not to forget about it.

Garden Themed Table Design For Easter

I think that Easter has to be one of my favorite holidays. It has always been a laid-back afternoon celebration where we invited a few family or friends for a small intimate brunch. We set up a pretty table on our patio and enjoyed the weather if the weather was warm enough. It is a nice way to welcome Spring.

 On this day, I decided to create this outdoor garden themed table design for Easter using ideas from my trellis, garden roses, and other things I find in my yard. I like to start my designs using a theme since it helps me with the initial direction of my table.

This collection of spring flowers just is so sweet with the calla lilies, tulips, and roses.

I made this tablecloth using a lovely fabric with a pink/orange trellis design, and I found the material in a wholesale fabric warehouse in Massachusetts.

Hint: Designers love to rummage through antique stores, warehouses, and the like to find exciting things they can use for decorating.

I HAVE BEEN COLLECTING PORTMEIRION’S BOTANICAL GARDEN DISHES for years. They are perfect for a BOTANICAL garden party since they have flowers, butterflies, and other critters on them. I never get tired of them.

On top of my Botanical Garden dish, I’ve placed a linen napkin with gorgeous embroidered spring and summer flowers. The colors are just so sweet, adding to the texture and theme of my tablescape.

Pink Lemonade Mimosas

1 cup pink lemonade

2 cups of prosecco or any champagne or sparkling wine.

Just a few drops of Grenadine (optional)

INSTRUCTIONS

Assemble time - 5 minutes.

Serves 2

Chill all of your ingredients

Pour pink lemonade into two coupe or flute glasses. (I used pre-made pink lemonade from the grocery store. It saved me time and was just as good as if I made it myself.)

Gently add prosecco to the lemonade.

Add Grenadine for additional color and a hint more flavor.

Garnish with fruit such as raspberries or strawberries. I added a few edible viola blooms for color.
