Katniss is such an unreliable narrator. She says "Then something unexpected happens. At least, I don't expect it because I don't think of District 12 as a place that cares about me" girl you deliver strawberries to the Mayor, you hunt and trade for the district, when you fell at Prim being chosen someone caught you, when you went to Prim people parted for you, when you volunteered EVERYONE stopped. Idk how to tell you but I think you're a pillar of the community.

Peeta buring the bread and tossing some to her then taking a beating from his mom is a HUGE thing in the books.#he used his resources to help her like you all said someone should.#district 12 DID (rip) care about Katniss before the hunger games. why do you think she was allowed to hunt? or how her trades were good #these are the little ways 12 can shows Katniss they love her. but again Katniss doesn't see this and YES its because she had ptsd before the #hunger games as well. i swear some of you make it seem like d12 was all living a life of luxury and glaring down at Katniss.#other things that show Katniss is in hight standing with at least her people of d12 is her dad was known enough through d12 for peeta dad to #comment on his singing along with his commenting on her mom. also her mom is a healer in the community. yeah her parents arnt the top but #of d12 but they are/were definitely high staning in the Seam.

as much as i love overanalyzing things, i feel like people just need to like- stop overanalyzing papyrus. not because it's bad to do, you should think critically about the media you enjoy, but because a lot of analysis i see of him hinges on the idea that he's a much simpler character then he really is.

i just- i hate to say it but he's not just a gag character? in any route he's not just a gag character. i think he's honestly very comparable to chara, because he's basically been forced into being this symbol of hope for his big brother and even undyne. papyrus is all but confirmed to be the only reason sans gets up in the morning, and undyne treasures her friendship with him so much that she refuses to let him get into any danger, even though he's probably more then capable of handling it.

i'd argue the best ending for him is the family endings. he gets an actual job, he's doing something that doesn't just involve being a symbol. in every other neutral ending where he's alive, THATS what he becomes. just a symbol for hope like chara, he doesn't do anything as king except try to cheer people up, and in one of undyne's endings, he just "stands around and looks cute." even in true pacifist when he becomes an ambassador or mascot, yes, he's decided that for himself but that's still having him be a symbol.

it's honestly kinda ironic that his scarf has become a symbol for sans' trauma in the murder route.

i feel like the reason why he has so many lines and is one of the deuteragonists is to prove that he's NOT just a symbol. same with chara being the narrator. (fight me.) they are more then the symbol they were forced to become.

also red is associated with hope. his outfit is pretty much all red despite using blue magic. INTERESTING.
