I'm just hoping Supes stopped the train at least somewhat gently, like spotting the kid when the train was kinda far off and finally brought it to a stop right near the kid. Cuz suddenly stopping a train is no bueno for the train, anyone in it, and often buildings/ people nearby

Damian: "Red Hood has a pretty severe concussion. What do I do?"
Tim: "Extraction's still ten minutes out, just keep him talking."
Damian, urgently pressing the comm: "I don't want to talk to him, he's even more insufferable than usual."
Jason, lying on the ground, eyes closed: "That's funny Junior, because head trauma's the only thing that makes you bearable."
Damian, to Tim: "I'm leaving. It won't be the first time we've had a closed casket."
Tim, groaning disgustedly: "Robin--ugh, seriously, just stay there and keep him awake."
Damian, seething even more when he sees Jason's smirk: "Fine."
Jason, cracking open one eye: "Aww, are you concerned about me?"
Damian: "Shut up. The only thing I'm concerned about is our family's reputation after your public wipeout on that stupid motorcycle."
Jason:
Damian: "Are you still awake?" *kicks him* "Todd?"
Jason, grinning: "You said our family."
Damian, furious: "I didn't. You've lost more brain cells than you could afford."
Jason: "Wait 'till Tim hears, I think he'll want a group hug. Bruce is probably going to get emotionally constipated. Dickie would probably cry--"
Damian, panicking as he hears the Batmobile get closer: "Stop. Do not tell him--"
Jason: "You better erase every single fucking video of me crashing then."
Damian: "You have a deal."

I Hate The New Hero!
Pt 5: What?!
Finally getting home from your patrol you sneak through the window of your bedroom and collapse onto your bed. After the call you decided that your patrol was done.
Frankly you're still coming to terms with the fact that Batman and his protogese are the same people who are essentially praying on your civilian self's downfall yet adoring your vigilante persona like it's the greatest thing in the world.
Though, now that you really think about it, it makes sense. Bruce Wayne is the richest man alive, he'd be able to afford to do this, they have the same amount of members as the heroes, same builds and heights, actually... Basically everything matches up.
Not to mention the fact that your senses goes off around both group members!
From outside your small room door you hear your parents arguing again - more like your mother yelling and your dad breaking things and stomping his foot. It was probably your dad's fault again. Don't get you wrong, you love your family! It's just that they're dysfunctional.
Your dad has a massive drinking problem that landed him working as a goon for Black Mask, he's struggled with his temper for years after he got hit a bit too hard in the head by Batman. Pair that with the fact that he's mute and he's a force to be reckoned with.
Your mom is always busy and rarely ever home, when she is she couldn't be bothered to interact with you unless you got into trouble. She grew up rich, often talking about how she went to the same school as Bruce Wayne and how she was a popular cheerleader before her life fell apart. She doesn't talk much on the topic but it's clear she holds distain for your father and, by extension, you.
You sigh to yourself, you need to shower. That means you need to get past them without them bringing you into it. Or you just don't shower for the night and have one tomorrow...
Your mom screams something out about not throwing knives and you decide to just shower tomorrow morning.
You change out of your costume and hide it safely under a loose floorboard, you change into your pajamas and get into bed. Today was a massive mental drain and physical drain.
...
You awake to a knock at the front door. Your parents usually ignore it and make you answer when someone knocks because "you're dispensable" as they say. Looking at the clock on the wall of the kitchen you see it's around 7am.
Groggily making your way to the door you look through the peep hole and see Tim standing awkwardly on the other side with a guy next to him, the guy next to him being so big and tall that you could only see a small part of his chest and arm.
You curse to yourself quietly, this is by far the worst luck you've ever had.
You open the door and look at the two. Now seeing the other guy the thing that stands out is a stripe of white hair on his head. Instantly you know it's Jason Todd.
You aren't an idiot. He's the only one in the family built like how he is - not including Bruce.
"What do you want?" You ask, annoyed. Tim chuckles weakly, as if nervous. "Wayne Enterprises wishes to give your mother her letter of departure." You blink once, then twice. "Huh? Letter of departure? The fuck does that mean?" You mutter, genuinely confused.
Jason scoffs, "it means your dear mother is losing her job, kid." He states uncaring of how blunt he's being. Tim elbows him and hisses something about being more considerate.
You don't listen, all noise becoming white noise. Why is she being fired? She works hard, she dedicates her time, she does her best! Is this because you have beef with Tim? That's not fair!
She's the only stable source of income, without that job you all would be living on the streets. You've heard AND seen so many horror stories about teens living on the streets, it's something you'd pray never happened to you. But now it's entirely probable.
So, in a moment of desperation you grip Tim by his shoulders "Please! You can't fire her! We'll end up homeless! She works all the time, she tries! My mother will improve if you ask, she needs this job. The whole family does!"
Tim seems shocked by this, his posture stiffening. Jason looks on guard, as if assessing whether he should step in, though he doesn't seem fond of the idea. You wouldn't doubt that he was made to accompany Tim as a body guard.
Tim opens his mouth, then closes it, then opens it again. Clearly he wasn't expecting you to beg for your mother to keep her job.
"Uh... Look, I don't mean any harm by it, it's just that we need to make way for brighter minds..." He stumbles slightly over his words as if making the excuse up on the spot.
You won't back down however. "Tim, please, I desperately need you to realize this. I. Will. Die. On. The. Streets." Probably not true because of your mutation but the fear remains. "Please, I'll do anything for you to not do this! I already promised Bruce to stop talking bad about Aranea!" You please desperately.
Tim glances to Jason who quirks a brow and shrugs. The sound of movement from behind you makes your eyes widen and behind you you see your dad approaching, you were probably too loud.
He glares at you before yanking your hair so you move away from Tim and remove your clutches on him. You hiss in pain at the feeling but bow your head down.
Your dad eyes the two boys before looking to the paper in Tim's hands. He instantly knows what's going on and storms down the hallways of the complex to do who-knows what. That scares you. Your dad is unpredictable.
After some silence Tim speaks up. "Are you okay? Your dad pulled your hair pretty tightly..." You look down, ashamed. You couldn't even bother putting your walls up and defending your pride. Your life is basically falling apart at the seams.
"... I'll do anything for you to not fire my mother..." You mutter meekly, a far cry from how you usually act, something Tim notices immediately. He sighs to himself, he debates the odds. Maybe if he doesn't fire (Reader)'s mother then they can be even. The feud can end, it was pointless on your part to begin with for hating someone so sweet and kind, then hating him who defends the innocent.
"Fine. Your mother can stay, but, it may not be permanent. I suggest she find elsewhere in the mean time." Tim states before walking off. Jason takes a second to stare at your relived form, the slight smile of disbelief and look of relief in your eyes. He then leaves with Tim.
You close the door to the apartment and sink to the floor. That was terrifying. You'll have find a way of telling your mother the news before she goes into work in two hours.
You're officially having the day off from school and patrol today.

⚣ It's Not A Competition 🥇
Tumblr media Tumblr media
⚣👊🏻 A/N → SURPRISE! double post today! I've been wanting to do a Clark Kent post forever but never had any good ideas. Then, this popped into my mind. Also, I'm really trying to clear out my drafts and any old requests. WARNINGS: Canon-Typical Violence | Jealousy | Established Relationship
⚣👊🏻 Summary → Dark Knight this and Dark Knight that. What about Superman?! He's also a great hero! Better than Batman, at least. The guy doesn't even have powers. But that's what makes him more interesting and cool, according to Y/N. And frankly, Clark has had quite enough and intends to show him why Superman is way better than Batman.
⚣👊🏻 Words → 4.7K
REBLOGS & replies are greatly appreciated, please! 💛
⚣ ENJOY 👊🏻
Tumblr media
Clark just didn’t get it.
Why was it that Y/N was so obsessed with Batman and not Superman? All the young reporter ever talked about was the Dark Knight and how he was so cool and mysterious. Going on and on about his awesome gadgets and the fact that he had no powers, which made him so interesting.
Clark very much would beg to differ.
“You know, Superman can shoot lasers out of his eyes, and I heard he can move faster than the speed of sound,” Clark pointed out while walking with Y/N down the sidewalk. They decided to go out for lunch and since the Daily Planet was so close to one of Y/N's favorite restaurants downtown, he figured, why not just walk together?
“Clark, not this again,” Y/N chuckled while sipping his drink.
“I’m sorry, you just always talk about how great Batman is, and I’m not saying he’s bad, but I don’t get how he’s better than Superman?”
“You know, you’re starting to sound like Lois with all your Superman praise and comparison.”
“Well, she’s not wrong. I mean, come on. What can Batman do that Superman can’t?” Clark asked, looking down at his boyfriend while waiting for an answer.
“Batman’s quicker on his feet. He thinks of solutions faster and more creatively than what I’ve seen from Superman. Plus, he’s resourceful. The guy’s got a freaking jet. The only people I could think of that own jets and planes and all the crazy gadgets he has would probably be Lex Luthor or Bruce Wayne.”
Clark tried not to react to the irony of that statement, rather focusing on how he could combat that logic even though it was true. He had to admit that his comrade, whether in the field or in practice, was very good at analyzing a situation and using whatever he had around him to his advantage.
Still, it didn’t mean he was better than him.
“Well, Superman can also fly, and as many have witnessed, is crazy strong.”
“Yes, he is. But if Batman can afford a jet, I’m pretty sure he can afford a jetpack, too. Plus, we all know how strong Superman is, some more than others. Their insurance claims can definitely speak to how strong he is.”
That last line Y/N said was more so to himself than as a statement to Clark. However, it didn’t take away the slight sting from his words, considering how true they were.
“So you’re saying Superman is reckless and bad at his job or something?” Clark accused.
“What? No, I’m not saying that at all. Why are you getting so defensive about this? You’re acting as if you know the guy. Wait, do you know him?” Y/N asked, now looking up at his giant of a boyfriend.
Sometimes, he wondered what kind of genes ran in Clark’s family. It was a bit of a puzzle to Y/N why the six-foot-something man was in journalism rather than something that seemed more his speed, like fitness or athletics.
“No, of course not. I just don’t think it’s fair or even logical to compare Superman to someone like Batman, considering what each of them has respectfully achieved, not to mention the state of their cities and everything. I mean, have you ever been to Gotham before?” Clark asked, doing his best to not draw any more curiosity or suspicion out of the younger male.
Not that he was doing a good job of that in the first place.
Clark just wished he could’ve shown Y/N why Superman was better than Batman. They’d only been dating for a few months so it wasn’t reasonable or even smart for the Kryptonian to consider revealing his identity to him, no matter how much he wanted to.
“Clark, it’s not a competition. You know that, right?” Y/N said, placing his hand on Clark’s arm.
They paused in their steps, Clark looking down at the gentle hand lying across his forearm before looking up into the eyes that always put him under a spell. He smiled to himself, thinking of the fact that even if Y/N favored Batman over Superman, Clark was still the real winner, because he had him.
He took his hand in his own, doing his best to contain his excitement pulse at the feeling of his larger hand surrounding the smaller one in his grip. Y/N was still a male, so his hand wasn’t dainty or small by any means, but compared to Clark’s, it might as well have been.
“Yeah, I know. Sorry, I got a little bit crazy.” Clark apologized with a small kiss on the shorter man’s hand causing a slight blush to appear on the smaller male’s cheeks.
“It’s ok. Besides, I like a little bit of crazy. Keeps things interesting.” Y/N said before continuing their walk towards Clark’s place of work.
‘You have no idea,’ Clark thought to himself as he followed behind, letting himself be tugged along.
Tumblr media
They returned to the Daily Planet to find everywhere in a buzz, chattering excitedly with each other as various individuals were either running to the bathroom with pouches of makeup and skincare and others at their desks touching up their hair and clothes.
“What’s going on?” Clark asked aloud as he strode into the office while still holding Y/N’s hand.
“Was it like this when we left?” His boyfriend asked, chuckling at the comical movements and gestures of the rushing to get re-ready for whatever was happening.
“No, it was actually the opposite,” The reporter stated before eventually spotting Lois at her desk, who was also touching up her makeup and hair. He made his way over to the desk area, narrowly avoiding multiple people rushing while pulling Y/N closer to him to keep him from getting bumped into.
“Lois, what’s going on?”
“Oh, hey, Smallville. Hello, Y/N. Didn’t you both get the emergency email Perry sent to everyone earlier?” She said in her usual fast-paced, business tone while curling her eyelashes.
“No, We were at lunch. What was the email about?”
“Oh, Clark. Must I always have to save your butt?” Lois said before handing her phone over to the man, Y/N chuckling behind him at the comment.
Clark threw him a look while Y/N did his best to keep a neutral face before reading over the email.
“Bruce Wayne is coming to the Daily Planet?”
Y/N's eyes went comically large at the mention, immediately jumping to read the email for himself, “No way!”
Lois smirked to herself before grabbing her phone back from the man, while Clark just stared at his boyfriend in jealous shock from his excited outburst. “Yep. Wayne Enterprises has announced its support of various major liberal movements and is donating large proceeds to different organizations calling for massive change in the nation. And with this being an election year, many political figures and business entities are feeling a little uneasy at this sudden new support from the tech giant. And yours truly, landed the exclusive interview with him to get all the nitty and gritty details .”
Y/N’s eyes were almost bugging out of his head, before he ran to the bathroom himself, snatching his hand from Clark’s who looked desperately after him.
“Dammit, Bruce.” The reporter growled under his breath.
“You say something?” Lois asked while powdering her nose.
“No,” Clark responded gruffly, an irritated glint in his eye before walking to his own desk.
Tumblr media
After everyone has ridiculously made themselves extra presentable, including Y/N much to Clark’s annoyance, the pair stand outside the room with a few others, watching through the glass pane walls as the interview is broadcast live to the entire nation. Lois asked Mr. Wayne various questions, ranging from his real intentions behind his charitable donations to whether he was looking to begin any political endeavors and win the favor of the public.
Bruce answers every question with confidence and suaveness, leaving no room for questions about his actions, and denies any political motivations. Y/N watched impressed from the other end while Clark just looked around with a grim and irritated look, his arms crossed as he listened to the interview and watched his boyfriend fanboy over his secret comrade.
“Well, you certainly seem like the charming and noble benefactor, Mr. Wayne. I can see why you're known as ‘Gotham’s Favorite Son.’ I have to ask though, even if you truly have no political ambitions, aren’t you worried that these donations and announcements along with the unwavering stance you’ve taken on these political topics will inevitably place a target on you?” Lois asked, notepad and pen sitting with poise and precision, ready to take down every little thing the billionaire said.
“Wow, I can see why she’s so respected. She’s nailing this interview.” Y/N commented.
Clark nodded to that. Even if he wasn’t feeling the most agreeable at the moment, he’d always give hats off to Lois’ skills. The woman was a powerhouse when it came to this stuff.
“Well, first off, thank you for your earlier comment. I don’t think of myself as anyone’s favorite, but even I can’t control what the public says or does,” Bruce responded with his ever-so-billion-dollar smile, earning a laugh from Lois and probably every other American tuning into this broadcast, including Y/N.
Clark, however, wasn’t impressed. He’d heard funnier.
“But, to answer your question,” Bruce continued, “...any move in the business or even the political world I imagine can be considered a risky one. I’m not going to pretend that my decisions have made some very happy, and others very unhappy. That’s life. You can’t please everyone. But, to sit and accept things as the way they are for fear of retaliation or backlash is misery in itself. I believe anyone who doesn’t speak up for what they truly believe or want for fear of ‘rocking the boat’ is just content with living in their own misery. And, let me be clear before I’m canceled—I know the meaning behind that now thanks to my kids, particularly my two youngest sons—I’m not saying someone who’s genuinely content and happy with where they are is included in this. I’m specifically talking to those who want change, and want to create a better world, but are waiting for others to do it for them.”
Despite its clichéness, many in the hall gave a small clap to the CEO’s words, Y/N looking thoroughly impressed himself.
“Wow, he really is an inspiring man,” Y/N commented.
“He’s alright,” Clark said in response.
Y/N gave the taller man a suspicious side look, “Alright, what’s going on with you? You’ve been standing there pouting
since this interview started. What, do you not like Bruce Wayne or something?"
Clark sighed before looking down at his boyfriend. It was true, he wasn't really liking the guy at the moment. But, it was just because he was so jealous. He didn’t like how Y/N was looking at him, or how he was talking about him.
It wasn't fair.
The reporter wanted Y/N to be looking at him and only him like that, and he wanted his attention and affection, and he wanted him to only talk about him like that. It was petty, and it was selfish, but Clark didn’t care.
He just wanted Y/N to only admire Clark Kent. not Bruce Wayne.
Only Superman, not Batman.
Despite Y/N's earlier words about it not being a competition, Clark knew the truth. It was a competition, one he was not planning on losing.
"No, I don't not like him. I'm just not that impressed, is all. He's not a superhero." Clark said.
"Neither is Lex Luthor. But, that doesn't stop the public from making him the villain in his story. I'm sure there's a lot more to Bruce Wayne than the media is letting on."
"Oh, trust me. There's more to him than what meets the eye," Clark mumbled to himself as the interview was getting ready to wrap up.
"Well, on behalf of the Daily Planet, I'd like to thank you for joining us today. Your words are certainly ones that will not go unheard by many. I look forward to—"
Before Lois could finish speaking, the lights in the building suddenly went out, leaving the office pitch black. A few people in the hall gasp, Y/N instinctively grabbing Clark's arm, who in turn places his hand over the smaller man's own.
"What's going on?" Someone asks.
"I don't know. It's almost like a blackout, but it can't be because we have backup generators. They should've turned it on by now." Another responded.
"Clark, what's going on?" Y/N asked toward his boyfriend, who was holding the smaller male closer to him out of instinct.
"I'm not exactly sure..."
Just as he said that, the lights came back on, and everyone was looking around confused as to what the source of the blackout was.
"Oh my god!" One of the people in the hall screamed suddenly as everyone turned back towards the interview room. Inside the room, some members of the crew suddenly had masks with insignias covering their faces on them. One of them was behind Lois holding a dagger to her neck while another stood to the side, pointing a gun directly at Bruce's head.
"I'm so sorry to interrupt, Ms. Lane," The individual in the middle of the room said, "But, this interview isn't over just yet."
"Who the hell are you people?!" Lois asked, fear and anger in her eyes as the blade was held to her neck.
"Wouldn't you like to know? As for Mr. Wayne, we're going to have a little chat. I suggest you and your friends don't follow or intervene. Otherwise, this broadcast won't be the only thing getting cut" The masked individual threatened, nodding to Lois.
"Don't you dare touch her," Bruce warned, his expression serious, as he got ready to stand.
"I wouldn't do that if I were you, Mr. Wayne. We wouldn't want anything bad to happen, now would we? Especially with all of America watching right now."
Bruce sat back down, knowing that his opponent was right. He couldn't let them hurt Lois, and he certainly couldn't risk any lives in this room.
"Don't worry, Mr. Wayne. We'll make this quick," The leader said as one of the other masked goons went to lock the door that led inside the interview room.
"Clark, we have to do something," Y/N said, his heart racing a mile a minute.
"I know. Stay here. I'll be back." Clark said before running off, leaving the smaller male alone.
"What? Clark, wait! Where are you going?" Y/N called after him, but the taller man didn't hear him, already too far away.
'What the hell is he doing?' Y/N thought to himself before turning his attention back towards the situation in front of him.
As Clark rounded the corner and made his way down the hallway, he made sure no one was watching him before he ran as fast as he could into the supply closet. Once inside, he quickly changed into his suit before taking off through the backdoor.
"So, how does it feel knowing that you're on the side of the wrong? How does it feel knowing that no matter what you do, you'll never be able to fix the mess you made? All the lives lost because of you," The masked man asked Bruce, who was sitting calmly in his chair, his eyes not showing an ounce of fear.
"I don't know what you're talking about."
"Of course you don't. None of you wealthy elites do. You don't know the pain and suffering your companies and your products cause to others. You don't know the misery you cause. Well, allow us to show you." The man said before signaling his partners.
One of them immediately moved and grabbed a hold of the camera, pointing it directly at the masked man in the center.
"Hello, Metropolis. And hello, America. If you're watching this, that means you're just as much a part of this as we are. if you've been sitting here listening to the lies and promises of a better world by this man and his kind, you are as much a part of his schemes as he is. It is because of people like him that we have the world we live in. It's because of people like him that so many of us suffer. It's because of people like him that the world will only continue to rot and decay until there is nothing left but a pile of ashes. But, we will not be the ones who burn. We will not be the ones who lose. We will not be the ones who suffer, not anymore. Today, we fight back. Today, we will show the world that we will not be silenced, we will not be oppressed. We will not allow the likes of him and his kind to continue to control us anymore with false promises of a better tomorrow while lining their own pockets. Today, we say enough is enough. Today, we rise. Today, we will take back what is rightfully ours. Today, we take back our freedom and our lives from the rich and corrupt." The man spoke, his words filled with conviction and determination, but also hatred and poison as he stared deep into the camera.
"And if any of you try to stop us, then you will be considered just as guilty as the rest of them. We will not be silenced. We will not be ignored. And if you think that the likes of Batman and Superman will save you, I wouldn't be too sure of that..."
As soon as the leader was done with his speech, the sound of the glass shattering was heard as Superman broke through the windows, flying into the room before stopping directly in front of the man holding the camera.
"But, I am..." The Man of Steel said, shooting a laser beam at the dagger being held by the goon threatening Lois. He immediately dropped the blade as it became too hot, giving the Daily Planet reporter the opportunity she needed to escape his hold.
"Bastards," She cursed, turning around and delivering a kick to the masked man's groin.
He groaned out in pain, falling to the floor before Lois punched him in the face, knocking him out.
Superman turned his attention back toward the masked man standing in the center, "I believe it's time for you to take a hike."
"Not yet. We still have unfinished business," The man said before signaling his other henchman. The man immediately aimed his gun at the Kryptonian, firing shot after shot into him.
Superman stood his ground as the bullets hit him, before eventually, the gun ran out.
"You're right. This is definitely the end," Superman said as he flew toward the man, knocking him out before he could reload his gun.
As Superman finished off the last of the henchmen, the leader turned back towards the camera, "Sorry, Superman. But, the damage has already been done. I hope you enjoyed this little taste of what's to come."
Before the Kryptonian could stop him, the man took out a smoke bomb, throwing it onto the ground and covering the room in a cloud of smoke.
"Crap," Superman cursed, unable to see as the man escaped.
As the smoke began to clear, Bruce took out his phone, "Alfred, I need you to track this signal."
"Understood, sir. I've also informed the police and they're on their way," Alfred responded.
"Good," Bruce said before turning back towards the room.
The actual camera crew was not out in the hall, hugging their co-workers who were all relieved at their safety. The broadcast was cut from the air, but there was no doubt every TV station from here to San Francisco was talking about it. Y/N was standing nearby, his eyes filled with awe and admiration as he stared up at Superman.
There was something oddly familiar about him.
...
Nah.
"That was incredible, Mr. Wayne," Lois said.
"I could say the same thing about you. I'm glad you're ok."
Lois smiled at him, "You were worried about me?"
"Of course. Why wouldn't I?" Bruce asked, a small smile forming on his lips.
Lois blushed slightly before turning back to look at Superman, who was now standing right in front of the two.
"Thank you for the save, Superman," Lois said, extending her hand out to the Kryptonian.
"My pleasure," Superman said, shaking the woman's hand before his attention was drawn toward Bruce who just gave him an appreciative nod. Though the look in his eyes signaled they would definitely be communicating about things later.
As Bruce and Lois moved towards the hallway, Lois spotted Y/N who was standing close to the door peeking inside.
"Oh Y/N, there you are! Thank goodness, you're alright." Lois said, walking over to him and hugging him.
"Yeah, I'm ok. Are you?" He asked, looking up at the woman.
"I'm fine. I'm tougher than I look."
"That's good to hear. And, it's good to see you’re okay as well Mr. Wayne. That was scary." Y/N said, turning his attention to the billionaire.
"Yes, I'm glad I'm alright, too," Bruce said, his attention on Y/N.
"Oh, Bruce Wayne, this is Y/N L/N. He's one of our upcoming new reporters along with Clark Kent, who you've met before." Lois said, introducing the two.
"It's a pleasure to meet you, Mr. Wayne," Y/N said, extending his hand out.
Bruce took it, giving the younger man a firm handshake, "The pleasure is all mine."
As the two looked at each other, Clark was standing nearby, his gaze focused on the two, his fists clenched.
'I swear to Rao...' He thought to himself, jealousy coursing through his body as he watched the two interact.
"So, Mr. Wayne, what do you think that was all about?" Y/N asked.
Bruce turned to look at the woman, an amused eyebrow raised, "He must be getting trained by you," He said, sparking a laugh from Lois and another eye roll from the Kryptonian before flying off, "And please, call me Bruce. Mr. Wayne makes me feel old."
"Bruce, then. What do you think that was all about?" Y/N asked again.
"Well, I can't be certain, but based on their words and their actions, I'd say they were a group of anarchists."
"Anarchists?"
"Yes. They're not an uncommon group. Many people are growing tired of the way things are in this country. With the state of the economy and the government, it's only a matter of time before things begin to boil over."
"So, you think this is going to happen more often?"
"I'm not sure. But, I have a feeling we haven't seen the last of them."
Y/N nodded his thoughts on the events that had transpired earlier.
"Y/N!" Clark called, interrupting the conversation.
"Clark, there you are! You had me worried sick," The smaller male said while hugging his boyfriend, missing the sharp look the taller man was throwing at the billionaire.
"I just went to alert the building security and the police. Seems everything turned alright though since Superman showed up," Clark said, wrapping an arm around the younger man's waist while still giving a side eye to Bruce who was watching with amusement.
"Yes, thank goodness he did. I'm sure we all owe him a huge thanks for his services."
"Yes, indeed we do. But, unfortunately, I must be going now. It was a pleasure meeting you, Y/N." Bruce said, extending his hand once more to the younger man, who took it, shaking it gently.
"It was a pleasure meeting you, too."
Bruce smiled at him before turning back to Lois, "And it was a pleasure seeing you again, Lois."
"Likewise, Mr. Wayne."
Bruce smirked, "I do believe we're a bit past the formalities now, Lois. Please, call me Bruce."
"Of course. Bruce." The woman replied, her tone flirty and her expression coy.
Y/N noticed this and turned to look at Clark, whose expression was blank as he looked on.
"Will do, Lois. I look forward to our next meeting," Bruce said before stopping in front of Clark.
"Good seeing you as well Clark, as short-lived as it was," Bruce said, extending his hand out for a handshake.
Clark reluctantly took it, the handshake lasting longer than was necessary.
"Likewise," Clark replied.
Bruce nodded, his eyes giving the reporter a knowing look before he was escorted out by security.
Once the billionaire was out of sight, Clark and Y/N decided to leave as well, making their way towards the elevator.
"Well, that was a crazy day," Y/N said.
"Yeah, tell me about it."
"Do you think Bruce Wayne knows Batman?"
Clark stopped mid-step, a shocked expression on his face as he looked down at his boyfriend.
"Are you serious right now? You can't be serious?" The taller man said with an indignant expression.
"What?"
"You're still thinking of Batman after Superman just came and saved everyone?"
"Well, yeah. I mean, he's a hero too. They both are. Besides, Superman is always getting most of the credit, don't you think? It would make sense if they were working together. You know, the world's greatest detective and the world's greatest hero, solving crime and catching the bad guys. Wouldn't that be so cool?" Y/N asked, his eyes gleaming with excitement at the thought.
"No, not really. I don't see why that would be a good idea," Clark said, rolling his eyes.
Y/N sighed, "Clark, remember what we talked about earlier about it not being a competition?"
Clark looked down at the smaller man, his eyes filled with frustration, "Yeah, but it doesn't mean you have to obsess over Batman. Superman is just as obsessed-worthy!"
"Clark, seriously, what is up with you? It's not like I want to marry him or something."
"You're acting like you want to," Clark mumbled under his breath.
"What?"
"Nothing."
"Look, Clark. I'm not going to say I'm not a fan of Batman. I mean, I think he's cool. But, that doesn't mean that I'm not a fan of Superman either. I'm a fan of both of them. I think they're both great heroes, and I think they both do good work."
"But, you don't think that Batman is cooler, or that he's better than Superman?" Clark asked, his expression pleading.
"I mean, I guess. But, why does that matter? Why are you so hung up about this?"
"Because, I—" Clark started before stopping, knowing he was about to give away his identity.
"You what?"
"I just want you to think of me, is all," Clark said, looking down at the ground, feeling a bit embarrassed.
Y/N's heart softened at the confession, the older man looking like a little kid who just got his favorite toy taken away. He stepped forward, cupping the taller man's face in his hands, causing him to look up.
"Clark, I do think about you. I think about you all the time and I love how protective you are of me. Whether I like Batman or Superman more isn't going to change that" Y/N said, trying his best to ease his boyfriend's fears.
"Promise?" Clark asked.
Y/N chuckled, "I promise."
"Good," Clark smiled while leaning down to place a kiss against his boyfriend's lips, "You should still like Superman more."
Y/N rolled his eyes, "Sure thing, Clark. I'll work on that."
"Thank you."
"Whatever. Now come on, we now have a celebratory date to go on." Y/N said as he grabbed Clark's hand.
"What are we celebrating?" Clark asked with a laugh as he was pulled towards the elevator.
It was always adorable watching the smaller male pull Clark around like it was nothing.
"Surviving our first criminal encounter together," Y/N said while hitting the first-floor button.
"First?"
"Honey, we live in a city with sky-high insurance because a superhero lives here. You really think this will be the last?"
He definitely doesn't.

So, I'm not a prisoner?
Tumblr media
masterlist part 1 part 2 part 3 extra
summary: you did not expect that your mission to take down the traitor, could end in such a difficult situation for you…
pairing: Natasha x Red Room teen reader
warnings: fighting, weapons, stabbing, blood, implied sexual abuse
genre: fluff, angst
words: 3073
a/n: I wanted to do a fic like this for so long!!!! anyway, I just kept scouting tumblr trying to find fics like this, so I figured I’d finally write one myself :)
You do not have my permission to repost, copy or translate my work
 |——————————— ⴵ ———————————|
A quick in and out. That was your mission. How on earth did you manage to screw it up so bad. In and out. Assassinate the traitor and come right back.
Dreykov would’ve been so proud.
But that didn’t happen. No. Every single aspect about that night failed to go according to plan. You snuck into the event Stark had hosted, was able to blend in with the other party goers, and you were able to hide when most of the people started to leave.
Once it was just the Avengers left, you stayed in your hiding spot, observing them. You were here to kill Natasha Romanoff, and Natasha Romanoff only.
You could not afford any casualties, so you had it all planned out.
You’d wait until the Avengers would leave, and you’d take Natasha out before she could make it to her living quarters. You knew that once she made it to the living space of the Avengers tower, getting to her would be a lot harder.
However, against all odds, Natasha excused herself from the group quite early, saying she wanted to get a good nights sleep.
You internally cursed yourself, hating that this wasn’t something that you had planned for.
Around the couches were still some Avengers sat. You recognised all of them. Clint Barton shouldn’t be too much trouble. He was only a guy who’s good with a bow. For Maria Hill could be said the same thing, except she’s very skilled with a gun.
No, you were worried about the other Avengers still seated. Tony Stark could call upon his armour in mere seconds. Thor had the power of thunder for god’s sake. Wanda Maximoff has exceptional powers, and therefor, if you were to attack with her still in the room, you’d be immobilised in an instant.
You were fairly certain you didn’t need to worry much about Bruce Banner. Sure, he could turn into the Hulk, but he didn’t turn often, and lately, the Hulk hasn’t been spotted in the battlefield, meaning he probably had many trouble turning into him.
Pietro Maximoff shouldn’t bring you a lot of trouble either.
Your main concern were Bucky Barnes and Steve Rogers. One Super Soldier you could handle, but two? While fighting the rest of the Avengers? That wasn’t going to work.
Lucky for you, Wanda Maximoff had excused herself from the gathering a while ago. If you didn’t make to much noise, she wouldn’t be much of a problem. You could be outside before she’d even make it to the party deck.
Your original plan was to just wait. Natasha Romanoff would have usually sat through a party until far into the evening. You’d know, you’ve been watching her for weeks.
However, now that Romanoff has announced she was returning to her bedroom, a slight panic ran through your body.
Dreykov gave your 5 weeks to finish this assignment. That’s longer than any assignment you’d ever been on. You could not disappoint him with this. You had to kill the traitor.
You figured now was your only chance, and so, as Natasha Romanoff made her way towards the elevator, you followed her.
However, not even to your surprise, she stopped in the middle of the hallway.
“You know I’m an assassin, too? You’re good, but you’re not un noticeable,” she states, calmly turning around, being met with a gun to your face. The moment she stopped, you were wise enough to draw your gun, holding her at gunpoint for any sudden movements.
You could see a slight surprise appear on her face, before her face returned to her poker face once again.
“You’re just a child…” Natasha spoke slowly, seeming almost disappointed.
“You’re a traitor,” you spoke, loading the gun, taking a step closer. Natasha simply shook her head. “I’m sorry,” she spoke, before leaping towards you. You shot your gun, but Natasha was too fast, avoiding your gunfire as she ran past you, back to the other Avengers.
How on earth could you have missed that shot? She was right there.
Pathetic.
You don’t hesitate to run after her, determined to finish this tonight.
Very much not to your surprise, the moment you run back into the party hall, the Avengers are already standing up and ready. Ready to fight you.
You don’t hesitate to move forwards, and after fighting Clint Barton for mere seconds, you quickly realise they have no intention of hurting you. You could use that to your advantage, and you do.
You kick Barton hard, leaving him on the floor, heaving for air as you move forward, taking on Maria.
However, the moment you get close to Maria, two strong arms wrap around your body, pulling you back. They’re holding you tightly, and it doesn’t feel like they’re planning to let go.
You struggle in the hold, fighting against who ever is holding you as you try to break free. A small panic runs through your body. The fear of being captured by the Avengers taking place in your mind. You do not fear the Avengers, but the thought of being seen as a traitor by Dreykov hurts your heart more than words could describe.
“Stop struggling. We can help you,” you hear a voice behind you speak, and you soon come to realise the person you’re fighting is Captain America himself.
No wonder you couldn’t get loose.
Knowing it’s a Super Soldier, you’re quick to outsmart him, making him think you’re getting tired, relaxing your body is his hold. Because of this, the Captain lightens his grip a bit, giving you enough room to wiggle your arm free, moving it backwards to hit him in the face with your elbow.
Because of the surprise, he lets you go, allowing you to stand again.
The moment your feet hit the ground, you dash forward, holding up your knife as you use everyone’s shock to your advantage.
Everyone is surprised by your capability of escaping Steve’s grasp, not realising your already moving towards Natasha again. You reach her quickly, stabbing your knife into her stomach as far as it can go.
Natasha gasps, and you pull the knife out, watching as all the blood starts to seep from her stomach.
Slowly, Natasha sinks to the ground, Maria catching her, helping her down.
You move towards Natasha again, determined to get the job finished, but are quickly stopped by another pair of arms wrapping around your waist. You immediately recognise the metal arm, knowing that the Winter Soldier holds you in his grasp. You can’t escape him. You never have.
He pulls you backwards, pushing you to the ground as he tries to punch you. However, you regain yourself quickly, rolling away from under him and kicking him in the face.
Suddenly, you’re moved across the room. You forgot the damn speedster…
You raise your knife quickly, stabbing him before he has a chance to make another move.
“PIETRO!” you hear a voice yell, and you turn your head to the right. Shit. Wanda Maximoff must have heard the commotion and went down to take a look. You have to get out of there. You will never win a fight with her.
You move quickly, running towards the stairs. However, before you could reach them, you felt a stabbing pain in your left shoulder, the sound of a gun shot following soon after. You had been shot. Bucky Barnes had shot you in an attempt to slow you down.
But you didn’t let it.
Instead, you went towards the stairs a little quicker, dashing down the hundreds of flights of stairs to get to the main floor.
Of course, all SHIELD agents on the main floor were already expecting you, and you were followed by Steve Rogers, but you were quicker than him. You knew that.
You dashed past all the SHIELD agents, avoiding their gun fire as you made it towards an emergency exit.
The moment you stepped outside, you started your escape route. You already planned it, knowing exactly which way to go, no matter which way you would exit.
Steve followed you outside, but the moment he set foot outside the door, you were gone. You had disappeared into the night, leaving no trace.
-------------------------------------------------------------
Back in the Avengers tower, the team was recovering from your attack. Natasha was in bad shape. Your strike had been an attempt to murder her, and you didn’t miss any organs as you pierced your blade through her abdomen.
Pietro was much better. He was back on his feet quickly, seeing as though you stabbing him hadn’t been a murder attempt. You merely wanted to distract him.
It didn’t take long for Natasha to get back on her feet either, even though she was advised to stay on bed rest after the surgery.
Natasha was determined to find you, and she quickly got to work.
Even though you had made it out of the Avengers tower quickly, you were still hurt, and some of you blood had fallen on the floor as you made your escape towards the stairs. Clint and Maria had collected that blood, running multiple tests, only to find out you were not registered anywhere.
There was no record of your existence. Were you just another ghost story?
What they did find were traces of the Super Soldier serum. However, they were modified, almost as if they were genetically a part of your system.
Did that mean you were just another Hydra experiment? Natasha did hear you calling her a traitor. That had to mean you knew Dreykov, right? Who else viewed her as a traitor. I would make sense. Sending a modified teenage assassin after her, knowing Natasha was above killing children.
Even in the Red Room, she always hesitated when sparring against the younger students.
Dreykov must have had a lot of faith in you to send you after her. Natasha can only hope you’re not a graduate yet…
-------------------------------------------------------------
After the incident in the Avengers tower, you had fled to Germany. You figured it was best to leave the United States completely. And why would they ever search for you in Germany?
You had rented an apartment, loving the small town you had chosen. Dreykov had given you 5 weeks to finish the assignment, and now, you had only 1 week left. There is now way that you’re going to succeed in killing Natasha within the week.
They know you are after her now, and they will be prepared for you to make a return. You screwed it up.
Sloppy.
Right now, you were just heading back to your apartment. You had taken a walk, deciding to make the most out of the freedom you had in the moment. The week would be over soon, and the moment Dreykov would send for your return you are certain you will not be seeing daylight any time soon.
After you arrived in the apartment building, you instantly felt watched.
Had the Avengers found you?
You made your way up to your apartment, pushing the key into the lock and walking through the small hallway. Someone was in here, you could feel it.
You walked into the kitchen, grabbing a glass and filling it with water, keeping your back towards the living room.
“There are not a lot of places to hide in this apartment,” you spoke aloud into the emptiness of the apartment. Soon you heard a set of footsteps, and you felt another presence enter the room.
“You’re very skilled for your age,” you heard a voice behind you say, and you immediately recognised it as Natasha’s.
“And you are stronger than you look. I mean, even for you, I didn’t expect you to be on your feet so quickly,” you stated, turning around slowly. Natasha wasn’t holding a weapon in your face, something you were definitely expecting.
You scanned her quickly, seeing the weapons she held on her belt.
She didn’t come unarmed. Good. She’d be stupid to.
“I don’t mean you any harm,” Natasha said, taking a small step forward as she held her hands in the air, showing you her every movement.
You didn’t look impressed, instead just staring at her as she moved.
“Then you are a fool,” you told her, and you spotted a small smirk flashing over Natasha’s face. “And you are very full of yourself,” she said, moving towards the kitchen island, leaning on it.
“I can’t say I blame you. You took on a lot of the Avengers on your own. Even two Super Soldiers. That’s impressive,” she stated, giving you a small smile. You didn’t return it.
“What? Jealous someone better took your place when you betrayed us,” you asked Natasha, determined to get on her nerves.
Natasha’s smile dropped quickly.
“Quite the opposite, actually. I hoped no one would ever have to go through it again,” she told you, a hint of regret almost identifiable in her expression. Now it was your time to give her a small smile.
“You think you’re so important that everything should’ve ended with you?” you asked her, moving towards the kitchen island as well, setting your glass down, still holding onto it.
Natasha shook her head.
“What I am curious about, however, is the genetic Super Soldier serum that runs through your DNA,” Natasha paused, adjusting her stance before speaking again. “Tell me, was your dad a Super Soldier?”
You let out a huff of amusement, surprising Natasha.
“You think I believe you’re just here for a conversation? There are SHIELD agents placed on every corner of every street. Don’t think I didn’t notice it. The lovely young couple, drinking coffee at the restaurant downstairs? Amazing disguise, if you were trying to trick nine year olds,” you stated, finishing your glass of water.
Natasha smiles, clearly impressed with your observations.
“You’re right. I’m not here for just a conversation, although I do hope we can prevent violence,” Natasha started, but before she could continue you interrupted her.
“You’re here to bring me in.”
Natasha nodded, and the look on her face was almost apologetic.
“No one needs to get hurt. If you just come with me, there’s a big chance you could avoid confinement,” Natasha explained, yet you just scoffed and shook your head.
“Avoid confinement? Yeah right. There is no way, that after what I have done, your people won’t lock me away.”
“I can be very persuasive,” Natasha simply replied.
There was a small silence. Natasha knew you were debating your options. You didn’t seem like a brainwashed sheep. She knew that you knew better than trusting Dreykov’s lies. Sure, you still believed she was a traitor, but there is no way that you didn’t see that what Dreykov is doing is wrong.
“You know going back after a failed mission will result in punishment,” Natasha started, trying to get through to you. Trying to give you that little push you needed to go with her. “If you go with me, you’ll never be punished like that ever again,” she finished.
You looked up, deep in thought.
“How could you be so sure?” you asked her, and Natasha didn’t hesitate to respond.
“We can keep you safe-”
“I found you. I nearly killed you. Who’s to say some other Widow won’t come after me as well?” you replied, and Natasha gave you another small smile.
“I escaped the Red Room when I was 20,” Natasha started. “It took him 12 years to send someone after me. We will make sure we’ll take him down before he even has the chance to come after you.”
“How many times, did you try to kill him, exactly? Because I believe you attempted his murder twice already, both of which you failed. You blew him up in Budapest, and then another time when you took the air facility down. Do you honestly think you’ll succeed now?”
Natasha shook her head, seemingly recollecting her thoughts.
“I failed twice, and that was sloppy, but both times I didn’t have the Avengers on my side. You ran the moment you saw Wanda. You know what she is capable of. Taking down the Red Room for good shouldn’t be too difficult with the Avengers on our side,” Natasha explained, yet you just shook your head.
“I’m not like you,” you told her, yet Natasha just looked at you in confusion.
“I’m not some disposable widow like you were. I’m more important,” you explained, and Natasha gave you a sad smile.
“Everyone is just a disposable widow to him,” she started, but you interrupted her.
“I’m not. You tested my blood. You know I carry the Super Soldier serum. I’m not just some girl he picked up from the streets,” you explained, and Natasha gave you a small nod, encouraging to keep going.
“I can’t explain it, but he won’t just let me walk. He put too much time in my creation. He would never just let it go to waste,” you finished, looking down, avoiding Natasha’s gaze as you turned around, putting your glass by the sink.
“We’ll help you. I know that we can,” Natasha tried.
“Is it worth the risk? My life is not great, but it’s not terrible either. Dreykov values me, and I am not treated like a piece of meat, unlike you might suspect.”
“So the punishment is worth it, then? Knowing that in three days time, Dreykov will have you be recollected, and once you return to the Red Room, you’ll be punished severely for a failed mission,” Natasha paused, allowing you to let her words sink in.
“Or, in three days time, you could know you can go to bed without worrying about someone joining. You could know you can be safe, and sleep through the night without anyone disrupting you. Knowing that, is the choice really that hard?” Natasha finished, and you were almost at your breaking point.
Was it worth it? Was going back the best decision? Dreykov would hurt you, you knew that, but you deserved it. Didn’t you?
“Please, just come with me. We can help,” Natasha spoke, nearly begged.
You sighed deeply.
“Fine, but if you put me in a cell, I will go on a murder streak,” you told her, and Natasha let out a chuckle, before seeing your facial expression, and realising you were dead serious.
“Duly noted,” Natasha said, before motioning you towards the door.
What had you done…

Tumblr media
"You know, Jay." You raise a brow as he does all of the heavy lifting, sliding your mattress on the ground into your shared bedroom in the new apartment.
"Yes, sweetheart?"
"Oh, god. Did you learn that while reading on ao3 again? Jesus." You grumble. "What I was going to say, though, was that you really... you probably could have called a moving company."
"Listen, lovely." He points. "You have me."
"Yeah, yeah." You sigh. "I love you too, Jay."
"Good, cuz I've seen how many weird fratboys make eyes at you on the daily, and I honestly think some of them need to get beat."
"Not like you couldn't beat them." You pat his shoulder. "Is that it?"
"Should be." He hums. "How do you like our place?"
"Can't wait to have all of my annoying ass textbooks slotted in the bookshelves that you decided were necessary while telling Bruce to remodel."
"Can't wait to have your dissertation plastered on the walls."
"Oh..." You mumble. "Our degrees... You plan on living here forever?"
"Just a little, maybe."
"Could we just throw the mattress off the balcony next time?"
"I mean, I'm not saying no..."
You find that Jason's still the biggest book nerd in college. His 4.0 is daunting compared to yours despite being in the same school as you, and it's just a little... terrifying. At the very least, all of his professors adore him. You find that it's at the very least — helpful. It's great that Jason's adored by your shared professors because when Jason accidentally lets slip that you're his girlfriend, it gives you a boost. You don't know how, but you end up relaying messages to Jason through your professors occasionally. You wonder just what kind of tactics Jason's employing to get on their good side an ungodly amount, but it's not your problem. Jason has the face card and the personality for it.
At the very least, when it comes to you, he does.
"Prof wants to see you at office hours." He hums. "English 102."
"Jesus, what did I do now?" You grimace.
"Probably that shitty essay you bullshitted."
"God." You mumble. "I truly need to get on your level."
"Thank you, sweetheart." He hums. "The art of knowing does not come easy."
"Yeah, yeah." You grumble. "We should get back to a book a week. Sorry, I mean I should get back to a book a week."
"You can start by catching up with me."
"M..." You pause. "How about... no."
"Well, your choice." Jason hums. "We're mid semester—"
"WHICH IS ANOTHER THING. WHY DID WE MOVE MID-SEMESTER??" You snap your head to look at him, annoyed. "Jay, baby."
"I know." He pouts. "But you hated that dorm too."
"Yeah, but now I have to change all of my mailing addresses. Again." You mumble. "I hate doing that. I don't know how many accounts I even have."
"At least you got all of your packages."
"I guess..." You sigh. "Well, at the very least... we own this place."
"We own the building."
"WHAT."
"Correction. B bought the building and transferred ownership to me. I own the building."
"Oh my god." You mumble. "You truly are learning from the worst..."
"Worst being you?"
"Yes. Duh. How many times have I called B for a hundred dollars because I couldn't afford matcha?"
Jason holds back a laugh, closing his eyes as his brows furrow. "Matcha does not—"
"No, but B can spare it." You hum. "Don't worry. I pay him back with the abundance of gifts I bring with each travel."
"Which is on B's account." Jason pauses. "You know what? Yeah. Whatever. Eat the rich. I didn't steal his tires and strike gold for me to be telling you to go easy on his bank account."
You give him a thumbs up. "Well, I make my own as well. It's nice to not need to worry about tuition... but it's also a pain in the ass to not be able to make money here."
"At least you have a legal ssn and everything."
"Not."
"Not ssn. Sorry." He snorts. "Well, better than the goons in Gotham, I'm sure."
"Definitely." You hum.
Jason tunes out your rambling as he glances around the room. The couch would arrive soon, and the rest of the furniture (including the 4K HD TV that you deemed necessary in order to, and he quotes, "see men in 4k" on) would arrive soon. He wonders just what he would be doing had he not met you.
Would his life have ended when he nearly lost his life? Would he have gone to find his mother had you not clung onto him and threatened suicide? Even then, you were insane. He glances back at you as you tilt your head at him, expecting an answer.
"Sorry, babe. Spaced out."
"I was asking if you wanted takeout for dinner."
"Maybe?" Jason pauses. "Sure. You wanna order?"
"There's a place downstairs that I wanted to go to." You hum. "Right out there."
"Hope that pizza is just as good as the one that Dick won't shut up about." Jason mumbles.
"You recon I could ask them if they take school dining dollars?"
"They don't."
"Wouldn't hurt to ask." You grin.
"I'm not asking for you." He deadpans. "I'll search it on reddit for you, though."
"Mm... that works." You hum. "So... wanna tell me what was on that exam you took?"
"No."
"No?? Not even a clue??" You gasp, pretending to be hurt.
"You'll be fine."
"That 88 I got on my first exam begs to differ."
"You're my smart girl." He hums.
You grimace at him.
"Alright, alright. But you're paying for dinner."
"Bruce is, but yeah." You click on your phone, handing him the menu as you get cozy on the couch.
Jason settles into a day to day with you, fingers interlaced with yours, placing grapes in your mouth as you rest, sigh breaking through your chest as you rest the book over your eyes.
"Tired?"
"Very." You hum. "How was your final?"
"I finished." He pulls another grape, pressing it to your lips as you part them to eat. "You're getting real lazy, sweetheart, you know that?"
"Yeah." You hum. "But you love me."
Jason pretends to think about it, tapping his chin as he puts the bowl down. "I don't know..."
"You're hand feeding me grapes and you're telling me you don't know if you love me?" You move the book from your eyes, raising a brow at him as you shuffle and lean on your elbows.. "Jason, beloved. If you tell me you don't know one more time I'm sending you straight to hell."
"By killing me?"
"Jay, baby?"
"Yes?"
"No."
He reaches for the bowl again, breaking another grape off to give you.
"But you love me."
"Yeah, yeah." You sigh, taking the grape as Jason presses his lips to yours, giving you a quick kiss. You make a noise in protest.
"I love you more than words could express, sweetheart." He takes the last grape, slipping it past his own lips as you throw your head into the arm of the couch and groan.
"You cheeseball."
"Says the one who asked me out."
"I didn't even ask you out all that cheesily."
"Yeah, but you asked me out."
"And you accepted it." You point. "Loser."
"Yeah, your loser."
"My loser." You sigh.

Tw: Violence, suggestions of abuse, suggestions of bullying
A/N: I finally made a part two you guys!!! It was short and simple, the real stuff comes later :)
Part one>>
Your thoughts
Tumblr media
The anxiety bubbled in your throat-or maybe that was bile- as the stench of cigars hit your nose. You followed the light smoke into the kitchen, your father seated at the table. His eyes scanned over you, narrowing as he did a double take. “You're late.” His voice was rough and hoarse, maybe he didn’t notice.
You hated that that was a good thing. “The bus was late…” Your voice was barely a whisper, you were mumbling again. “Speak up.”
“The bus was late.” The stench of cigars was stronger as you saw a cloud of smoke surround your dad, it was a sight you’ve seen for as long as you can remember. “There's a door right there, can’t you do that outside?” Nothing in your tone indicated sass, it was a genuine question. You waved your hands, even if you were used to the smell you still didn’t like it. “You can deal with it.” “And you can deal with smoking outside.”
Rude. Just rude, he stunk up the kitchen and he didn’t even bother to use an ashtray. Just a mess for me to clean up. Why even bother? Shit. “Fix your tone.” “Right, s-sorry…sorry”
He turned around, giving you permission to leave the room. It was always a surprise to see him home, and if you were being honest? You wish he never came back.
Only thing you could see were the stairs, after every step they creaked. With your head down you made it to your bedroom, the familiar site making your shoulders feel heavier. You tried your best to close your door without a slam, and it was hard. Your fists needed to hit something, someone. And you hated it, but violence is just how your family does it. Violence
.
. Monday 4:59 Jason Todd (Third person)
.
Violent. Unstable.
Bruce's words echoed in his mind, sure the old man was probably just  trying to get him back ‘home’ ,but to Jason? It just seemed like another way to cage him. Jason was an adult now, he learnt how to do adult things. And he did that alone. He could take care of himself, sure he forgets to clean his wounds sometimes…and he might be getting evicted-but still!
With a grunt, he fell onto the worn-out couch he owned. The familiarity of it made the tenseness in his shoulders decrease a little. It was a bad day. One thing on his mind was that kid, why were they all busted up? A small chuckle left his lips when he remembered what they said ‘You’re not a wall??’ they sounded…funny.
Plus it was pretty dangerous for a kid to just be out and about in Gotham streets. The kid would be fine right?
They didn’t seem weak but…but…
But why do I care?
With a sigh he fell asleep. If he can’t do it at night, he might as well sleep the day away.
.
.Tuesday 1:30 (Second Person)

It felt like the walls were closing in on you, the rush of people getting to class. You hated it, the overlapping sounds of their footsteps and their mindless chatter. You could feel their sides as they passed by you, a few hands here and there, your head still hurt.
Two more hours of this bullshit. This wasn’t going to work, you needed to skip. But you couldn’t afford another detention, literally.
They threatened to expel you, your wrist still hurts from that night.
Your nerves were on fire, nothing could calm you down. Definitely not whatever useless subject you had next. Science was it? It was time to use the sick or injured card.
You had enough bruises and it worked last time, but that meant entering the classroom, raising your hand, people having their eyes on you as you asked to go to the nurse.
Ah
They implied that new rule, the one where your parents would have to pick you up. Of-fucking-course!
Your life was as shitty as ever, and that damned limp had barely gotten better. At least the swelling on your ankle stopped. It had been like that for a week, it was probably a good idea to go to the nurse for that but why bother, then she’d tell your parents. And no-one needs that.
Even though something at the back of your mind desperately wanted them to notice. While deep in though someone bumped into y-
“Ah. Sorry about that.” The words held no real apology but at least he had the decency to apologise. “No it’s alrigh-” holy f-it was the Wayne kid. “...t. I-It’s fine”
You didn’t really know why but he always creeped you out, it was odd. I mean it was always odd seeing a proper Gotham elite not have some vendetta against you but that wasn’t it. He had a particular distance from everyone, and his guard was always up. All he did was sit and watch, he read people well. Just like you did…maybe that was it. The thought of someone knowing how you felt irked you, it just wasn’t what you're used to. He looked down at the floor, maybe your ankle, and walked off. Leaving you with a small chill down your spine. Guess you had to get to Science, he was in your class anyway. Couldn't risk it, he might be a snitch. He did look like one.
.
.3:19
.
School was closed early after a villain was spotted nearby, which was odd they never really came this close to the school during the day. If there was a villain spotted nearby that meant-
ShitThe buses weren’t coming. Even if you tried calling your Dad he would say he’s at ‘work’ or ‘too busy’ and Mom was too ill to drive, that asshole probably took the car as well.
Guess that meant walking, you dreaded any time you had to walk. It was usually long and unbearable, going from the relatively clean streets to the graffiti-filled alleyways near where you lived.
The penthouses would turn into small apartment buildings, just further proof just how big the gap was from the privileged to the others.
When you had to walk you usually kept some sort of weapon on you. Everyone did. Didn’t mean it wasn’t going to suck.
.
The dozens of kids slowly turned into three or five going the same way you were. Some behind and some in front, your old headphones blasting whatever emotional music you were listening to. When you turned the corner you saw him, them.
Instinctively your hands balled up into fists, they were laughing. A laugh that bounced around in your mind, you pray that they don’t fucking notice you-
Well never mind then.
“Look who we have here…” The boy had a mop of brown curly hair and a freckled face, he was a few inches shorter than you. It always made you chuckle, but today you just walked away, that's when you felt the collar of your shirt being pulled from behind. Do these dipshits get off on your torture or something? “Hey-” Your reflexes were fast, too fast. Your elbow hit his jaw, fuck you hit him too hard. When you turned around, almost falling he almost pounced on you. Almost. He was grabbed by his collar, like a small kitten would be grabbed by their mother. You stepped back, looking up at the mans face…he seemed familiar.
.
.
.
“Why don’t you pick on someone your own size? I saw a squirrel nearby, maybe that would do.”

Phantom in Gotham
Due to Ao3 being down, I’m posting my DP x DC fic here!
Chapter 1
Tim wasn't sure what about the new kid caught his attention. Maybe it was the black hair and blue eyes, or the fact that he seemed to be as sleep-deprived as Tim considering the deep eyebags. Tim figured it could also be the numerous red flags that somehow keep appearing the more he gets to know Danny. The unnaturally cold hands, slower than usual heartbeat (discovered by Connor), or the fact that Danny used the lunch period as more of a nap time instead of actually eating. To put it lightly, Tim was concerned. So was Connor, but less in a way of ‘hey this kid probably needs help’ like Tim was and more ‘hey this kid might be dangerous’.
But the kid was nice. Tim could see that Danny was a good person. Every morning at school since Danny started showing up- halfway through the school year, which was another red flag- he'd talk to Tim before their class started about everything and anything. Tim learned that Danny liked astronomy, wanted to meet Martian Manhunter someday to ask about space, he had an older sister Jazz and a younger sister Ellie, both of whom he hadn't seen in a while. Tim didn't press, but he was pretty sure Danny was living on his own. He just wasn’t sure why.
Of course, many possibilities crossed his mind. Tim was a detective first and foremost, and he could never leave an unsolved mystery alone. His list included runaway, kicked out, in danger, or on the run because of meta abilities. Because of that last oneTim wasn’t sure if he should look him up on the batcomputer or not. If Danny was running or laying low for some reason, tipping Batman off about it would not work in Danny’s favor. Tim also wanted to find this out on his own first, without Batman’s help.
Tim helped as best he could. He brought granola bars for Danny in the morning, who lit up like an excited puppy at the prospect of snacks. He felt good about being able to help his new friend, but wished he could do more than keep him company during class and lunch. Speaking of lunch, Danny never ate much of it. Tim usually tried to get him to eat something, but Danny usually waved him off and took a nap at their table instead. Tim would share a concerned glance with Steph and Connor, but for the most part they let him sleep, and made him eat a bunch of his school lunch after he woke up.
Danny never asked for anything, and he was always cheerful- a forced cheerfulness, Tim could  recognize- catching him in those rare moments when he wore a sad smile, like something he remembered was painful to think about. Tim wasn't sure what Danny had gone through, but he knew it probably wasn't good. He assumed the kid was a runaway of sorts, but Gotham Academy was a rich prep school, so Tim wondered how a runaway would be able to afford attendance at such a school. Obviously the kid wasn’t from Gotham, and that worried Tim with how much crime went on around the city. One possibility was that his parents sent him away as a ‘boarding school’ of sorts. Tim wasn’t sure how Gotham Prep was the best option for that though.
Tim wanted nothing more than to investigate Danny's life, but had put it off. Part of him wanted Danny to tell him himself, but he had also been swamped with a new vigilante on the streets. None of the other bats ever saw who it was, but they all could feel something helping them or other people out. Like some invisible force they couldn't detect. It was hard to notice at first, with a few crooks tripping conveniently, a well placed pot falling on someone’s head. But it grew to become more, like one of them getting pushed out of the way, or sheets of ice appearing magically on the ground in the middle of summer. Tim had tried to call out, but no one ever answered. After a month, the invisible ghost still hadn’t showed itself, but they knew he- it? she?- was still around. Dick thought it was like a ghost friend, unsurprisingly nicknaming it Casper. Bruce, not so much.
But back to Danny. Tim was worried. Granted, they'd only known each other for a month at most, but he reminded Tim of Dick. Always hiding sad smiles behind false cheer, caring more about the people around them than themself. Tim shook his head, trying to disperse the thoughts around Danny's mysterious past. It would be rude to pry.
"You sure you don't want to come over after school?" Tim asked,"Steph and I are gonna do homework, you can totally join us if you want."
"Ah," Danny froze, rubbing the back of his head sheepishly a moment later. Tim could see his pale skin and deep eyebags from standing so close. He chewed his lower lip in worry while the taller teen stammered through an excuse.  "I- I have some things to do at home, you know, chores and stuff. Maybe next time."
"Alright,"Tim answered easily, filing the answer down to analyze later. Meanwhile Steph booed at Danny from behind Tim. "Maybe next time? You could come over for movie night on Friday?" Steph added, frustration seeping into her voice,. Tim was sure Danny was either ignoring her outburst or didn’t notice.
"I'll think about it,"Danny smiled nervously, stepping away and waving goodbye when they got to the street.
Tim waved back, shoulders slumping in disappointment. Steph shot him a knowing glance. "Looks like you're wearing him down at least. He'll be a Wayne before you know it!" Steph cheered, latching onto Tim's arm and dragging him to the car.
"I hope so," Tim sighed. The wearing down part at least, but he wouldn’t argue to having a new brother his age.
"Hey, maybe he's just nervous about visiting the mansion?" Steph speculated. "Rich people's stuff can be a bit overwhelming. Maybe we can go to his house or somewhere else."
"I don't think so," Tim frowned. "Anytime we ask him to hang out after school he has some sort of excuse to get out of it, even if we invite him to the movies or bowling."
Steph pulled a face,"Well, maybe he just doesn't like you," She teased, then turned serious at Tim's glare.
"I am worried about him though,"Steph admitted, looking over to where Danny disappeared to,"He reminds me of Dick, but like, more sad. You said he was sick?"
Tim nodded in agreement, worrying his lip between his teeth as he thought. “Slow heartbeat, possibly malnourished, and lower body temperature, but other than that he acts fine. No low energy, he does pretty average in Gym class. I found a few diseases that it could be online, but I don’t have enough symptoms to narrow it down and it’d be weird to ask.“
"Have you looked him up on the batcomputer yet?" Steph asked, climbing into the car.
Tim shook his head. "Not yet. I don't want to pry too much, but I think he might be a runaway. It doesn't explain why he's at school, but it would partially explain his poor health. I just really don’t want Batman to find out, and he will if I use the Batcomputer. Connor also said his heartbeat was lower than he’d ever heard on someone not dying, so he might be a meta? It wouldn't be a stretch for his family to have kicked him out for being a meta. It happens."Tim thought aloud.
"Could also be a medical condition, like you said before." Steph pointed out. "I don’t know any metas that would have slower heartbeats, cuz usually enhancements means faster. He does seem kinda tired all the time. And he really doesn't eat much during school."
Tim hummed in agreement. "I'm just worried about him,"Tim sighed.
"Alright Bruce,"Steph teased, smacking him lightly on the shoulder,"Should I get Alfred to set up another bedroom?"
Tim shoved her playfully, frown morphing into the beginnings of a smile. "I'm not gonna adopt him Steph, he's our age."
"Sure,"Steph shrugged with a smile that told Tim she didn't believe him at all.
"Maybe Bruce would though, if we introduced them."
"Tim, no."

Why do I feel like Wonder Woman would like Arranged reader?
The Amazon regarded the billionaire turned hero across from him and her eyes narrowed.
Bruce Wayne had a wife. One he bought.
But at least he didn't seem to treat her unkindly. The stable for her horse was immaculately kept. State of the art. "She must still be out somewhere," he said, frowning slightly. "And must not have taken her pho-" The sound of horse hooves thundering across the lawn brought him up short and he snorted. "Ah. She must have found what she was looking for."
"Looking for?" Diana asked, taking a moment to admire the form approvingly. You were not an amateur even if it was an idle hobby. A seasoned horsewoman. Probably a decent jumper. Riding into a battle you wouldn't be. But it made sense that Bruce wouldn't be overly concerned if you were out alone.
"She paints," he explained. "Sometimes she has to make her own reference material. Excuse-"
"I didn't realize we had a guest I'm sorry," you say, pulling Opal up to a stop and patting her neck. It had been a good run and now she was going to need a rub down and a rest.
"I didn't realize either, not until an hour or so ago when her plane landed," Bruce explained, reaching up to help you off the horse- something you never allowed the grooms to do.
"Diana Prince," the Amazon stated, introducing herself, "Pleased to meet you, Mrs. Wayne."
"Likewise," you answer, giving her a social smile.
"You have a lovely stable," Diana said.
"Thank you," you answer, stepping forward to offer her a handshake, "Opal is hopelessly spoiled."
"And very happy from the looks of it," she chuckled. The horse had followed you, annoyed at her attention being taken away. Resting her chin on your shoulder and huffing.
"I'd like to think so," you hum, absently stroking her nose. "Plenty of exercise at least. If you'll both excuse me- I owe Opal a good brushing and I should probably clean myself up before-"
"You care for her yourself?"
"For the most part. Veterinary work and mucking stalls- well."
"Fair enough," Diana said. You were a house wife. And your husband could afford to have someone do the muck work for you- though, if the way the two men kept things in order was any indication, they were well paid.
You excuse yourself, leading Opal and Bruce indicates that they should leave you to it.

Trick Or Treat!
It's All Hallow's Eve! And Here's how various folks would spend it with you! This will be a long one, so Buckle up.
Gender Neutral Reader for All Characters.
DC Masterlist
================================================
BatFamily:
Bruce Wayne:
He would be handing out candy for the first half of the night. Nothing cheap. He hands out the largest candy bars he can find.
He would dress up as something silly, like Dracula. He is not spared from the jokes from his children. He also very well aware of the irony.
You two would probably do a couple's outfit. Like Peanut Butter or Jelly, or Two Halves of a smore. Something cute.
Of course, it is still Gotham. The Rouges will be more than active tonight. So at some point, Bruce would have to go off on patrol. with a kiss, you send him off.
When he comes back, you're sitting in the kitchen, Jack O' Lantern Still lit. You were waiting for him to come back before you put it out.
Together, smiling, you two blew out the candle. All in All, a Tame Halloween.
Richard "Dick" Grayson:
Oh boy, if anybody is excited for the Holiday, it's Dick.
He hands out candy, dressed as one of his brothers. Probably Jason. He thought it would be funny.
Haley also has a costume! She's dressed as a little pumpkin. Dick has a 100 pictures of her in her costume already. You know he's going to have them all printed out by tomorrow and in the photo album he has for her.
He takes the night off so he could spend time with you. Whether your dressed up or not. He would never pass up a chance to spend time with you.
Once the Trick-Or-Treaters start to become more of a trickle, you two sit on the couch, watching some horror movie or another until you pass out.
Jason Todd:
He is not a big fan of the Holiday. Rouges get more active, people in general get more bold. It's just more work for him.
Somehow, you manage to convince him to take the night off. Let his family handle the crime! You picked out a couples costume.
Jason may put up a big, tough guy act. For you though, he melts. Which is how he ended up at a Halloween party with you on his arm.
He didn't take his eyes off of you the whole night. A Dopey smile on his face.
Once you went home, you two curled up in your coziest pajamas with a bag of candy Jason totally legally acquired, watching slasher fics.
When you fell asleep in his arms, Jason simply put a blanket on the top of you and held you close. He soon followed you to the land of sleep.
Timothy "Tim" Drake:
He's neutral towards the Holiday. But no matter what you do, you can never pull him away from work completely.
You might be able to drag him to help with handing out candy. But dragging him to a Party is a lost cause.
Depending on your costume, you may or may not distract him with the image of you in his brain all not.
Bring him Pumpkin baked goods, appease our sleep deprived god. He will love you forever.
When he comes back from patrol, and he sees you in bed curled up under a spooky blanket, he wouldn't hesitate to crawl in next to you. Gear and all.
Damian Wayne:
Claims he hates the holiday, but the way he lights up when you arrive to go trick or treating says other wise.
Dresses up as batman. It's a really well done costume. Benefits of having money.
He has planned out the perfect route for optimal candy gathering. There is now way neither of you go home without two trash bags full of candy, if not more.
His Father Gave him the night off. Which is perfect. It means more time with you, his friend, and more time to gather sweets.
After you return to Wayne Manor, Damian has you stay over for the night as you watch Child friendly Halloween Movies. You two pass out on the Den floor, and Alfred is the one who places a blanket over you.
Barbara Gordon:
Work for her never stops, but she can afford a break for you. Even if that break is helping hand out candy at the library.
She can't really do full blown costumes. But she puts on a pair of cat ears to help get into the season.
Once the last of the Trick-Or-Treaters leave the library, she travels home with you before heading to the clock tower. Criminals tend to love this Holiday, and she'll help as best she can.
She absolutely stays on call with you though, listening to you prepare dinner for the two of you.
When she returns home, Dinner is set out, and you two enjoy Dinner together before going to bed.
Stephanie "Steph" Brown:
May be able to compete with Dick with how much she loves the Holiday. Goes all out. Decorations, costumes, candy, you name it.
It's her night off! She's going to spend all the time she can with you!
Drags you out trick-or-treating, and then to a Halloween party. You two somehow manage to win best couples costume.
You two stop by Bat-Burger for Dinner, it's cheap, and you know nobody will steal your candy.
Steph sets up a horror movie as you change into matching pajamas with her. Once you two are cozy, you binge movies and candy until you pass out.
Cassandra "Cass" Cain:
She loves the Holiday, nowhere near as much as Dick or Steph, but she won't say no to going trick or treating with you. Or to the Couple Costume.
She has a lot of fun! And she makes sure you two hit the houses with the good candy and full sized candy bars. The hoard you both Gather could rival Damian's.
Does not hesitate to make you a proper dinner, no matter how late you get home. You went out of your way to make sure she had fun. Feeding you is the least you could do.
You two watch True crime until you fall asleep, safe in each other's arms.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~*~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Supers:
Clark Kent:
Adores the Holiday. He has since he was a kid. And he hopes that he managed to pass that love onto Jon.
Dresses up as a sheet Ghost. He knew his intent to wear a silly costume was effective when you laughed.
Happily hands out candy to all the Trick-Or-Treaters. No matter the age.
Clark can't really handle horror, so you two watch Kid friendly Halloween movies until Jon gets home.
You and him cooked a Halloween themed dinner and dessert to help wrap up the night. Goes without saying that Jon ate every bite and even had seconds.
After going through the candy, and tucking Jon into bed, you two spend a bit more time together before going up to bed.
Conner Kent:
Neutral towards Halloween. He will not say 'No' if you want to go out together or wear couple's costumes.
Does absolutely tease you with Halloween/general fall based nick names and pick up lines. Your his partner. It's his job to make sure you're flustered at least once tonight.
If you are wearing a bit more of a revealing outfit, Conner doesn't hesitate to start a fight with anybody who cat calls you.
Gets you the biggest bag of candy he can, and eats half of it. He'll leave you the candies you like though!
You two end the night in each others arms. Watching whatever was on TV. You two fell asleep like that.
Jonathan "Jon" Kent:
Loves, loves, LOVES the holiday. It is fact his favorite day of the year, right next to Christmas Day.
His Costume would be a Ninja. Mainly because Damian Groaned when Jon picked out the costume, So Jon of course wanted to annoy his best friend.
Drags you to every house, no matter the candy. It's a day with his best friend, he wasn't passing up on this.
You two were wiped when you returned to the Kent house, and Clark and Lois had an amazing meal prepared for you.
Goes without saying you two ate before passing out in Jon's room.
Kara Danvers:
Adores Halloween. Sucks that she can't spend all day with you. The moment she was free from work, though? Oh she could not get you into her arms fast enough.
She dragged you to every haunted house she could. She was like an excited little kid.
You bought you both bags of candy and other baked goods. And when you got a break from all the running around, you bought warm apple cider.
Once Kara noticed your exhaustion from all he running around, she carried you home, and happily cuddled you until you both fell asleep.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~*~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Speedsters:
Barry Allen:
Ah yes, Halloween with a Speedster. What could possibly go wrong?
Well, one, you spent basically all day baking. Barry could not keep his hands off your sweets. Thankfully the candy for the Trick-Or-Treaters was untouched.
Dressed up as a pumpkin. It made you laugh. And that was his goal.
Clung to you basically the entire night, even as you handed out candy or had to pull more cookies out of the oven.
When the porch light finally switched off, he dragged you to bed to watch the Entire Saw Series.
Wally West:
Drags you out to a Halloween party, no questions asked. You also went out to egg and TP people's houses. He was going to enjoy the time he had with you.
Buys you both absurd amounts of candy, even if most of it goes to him.
His mom made him dress up as a Carrot. He stopped complaining when you called him cute though. He owned being a carrot. He would die on that hill.
Happily ran around with you on his back as you caused chaos in the town.
Bart Allen:
Shows up at your door first thing in the morning, literally vibrating in excitement. Bart drags you around all day to scope out the best houses.
When the time comes, Bart quickly grabs the couples costumes he wanted to wear. Once you were ready he didn't hesitate to drag you out.
You two hit every house. Twice with Bart's superspeed. And even then he ran with you on his back to nearby cities.
By the time you got home, you two had a massive hoard. Even Bart admitted that it would probably last until next Halloween.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~*~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Archers:
Oliver Queen:
Celebrates Halloween with a big, fuck off Halloween party every year. You, of course, are invited.
Costumes are required, and Oliver chooses the grandest couples costume for you two. He wasn't about to be shown up at his own party.
Plenty of fancy foods, and just normal baked goods. Which he goes goblin on.
He was half tempted to throw out anybody dressed as the Justice League. You managed to talk him out of it though.
When you two tumble into bed after the party, Oli looked at you and realized he wouldn't change anything. No amount of money could make him give up this moment.
Roy Harper:
Becoming a Dad changes a lot of things. How you celebrate holidays is one of them.
He caves the moment that Lian asked if You and her could have matching costumes. He couldn't say no to you two tag teaming him. He was weak.
To say that carrying the bags of candy for you and Lian as you two ran around wasn't what he was expecting would be a lie.
But if the soft smile on his face clearly said that he didn't mind. And Roy would never trade this moment for the world.
Artemis Crock:
Never really cared to celebrate Halloween. Especially since she grew up in Gotham. She would Budge on it if you two went to another city though.
Once you two finish your Trick-Or-Treating, Artemis drags you to watch what ever horror movie was in theatres.
Paula had a nice dinner prepared for you two wen you returned, and Paula had you stay the night.
You and Artemis spent the rest of the night watching whatever scary videos you could find.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~*~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Extra:
Diana Prince:
Appreciates the Holiday, doesn't really celebrate. She absolutely will if you ask her too, though.
You two mainly handed out candy, and Diana cooed ever ever costume she saw of herself or the rest of the Justice League.
Once the Trick-Or-Treaters dried up, you and Diana went to bake. It was a mess, but the end results were nice.
Diana totally bragged about it the next day, even if it was nothing impressive.
Hal Jordan:
Enjoys Halloween a lot more now that he has you. He isn't big for couples costumes, but he will do it if it's funny.
Drags you out to every Halloween party he can find. Coast City can survive without him for a day. Hangovers were nothing if it meant spending all night with you.
He spoiled you as much as he could. Sweets, baked goods, everything you wanted. He was surprised when you shared with him.
He considered proposing then and there.
Jamie Reyes:
Enjoys Halloween, but it isn't as important to him or his family as Dia De Los Muertos, Day of The Dead.
He'll mostly be busy prepping the Afrenda and the feast with the rest of his family. But he gladly welcomes you into the celebration and his family allows you to place photos of your loved ones on the Alter.
He's happy, just spending the day with you. But if you bring baked goods, either themed around Halloween or Day of The Dead, and you will be is new favorite person.
His mom Will absolutely tease you two and ask when the wedding is.
================================================
a/n: Happy Halloween! I think I may do something similar for Christmas. I won't touch thanksgiving though. ever.
Longest thing I've ever written, and has all the DC characters I currently write for.
Requests, as always, are open! Hit up my ask box! I don't have anything better to do!

Metronomics
Sometimes it's too much, Gotham. Too much putting his body on the line for a city that can't and won't change.
Bruce imagines what his life could have been, what his children's lives could have been, if things had been different.
~~
Sometimes it's too much. Gotham. Too polluted, too populated, to poor...
Morally poor, he should say. The money's never been more than a means to an end for Bruce and he's never cared who has or hasn't got it. Even if he knows that's evidence enough of how out of touch he really is. To not be, and never have been, the levels of desperate so many of his fellow Gothamites have. Are. But he can't change that now. Not after a lifetime of more money than he could ever hope to spend (and God knows he's tried).
And it's not that he thinks poverty equals moral corruptness. Of course not. But God, if it doesn't cause a rot that's hard to escape. An agony deep in the bones, like an atomic bomb. Almost a century since, but still poisoning the ground and the air and the lives where it fell.
It's too much, sometimes. Gotham. Decades of putting his body, his heart, mind on the line for a city that doesn't change and can't change and... Won't.
Part of his Brucie-rich-boy-bit has always been a pretend man of the people. 'Billionaire spotted on Chicago's L-train', a picture of him in $5,000 jeans, throwing a peace sign on the platform at Quincy. 'Bruce Wayne joins the commute on Bangkok's BTS Skytrain' sunburned and sweaty and grinning like a moron. Public transport is easy when you don't need it. The delays, the overcrowding, the cost. All part of the big adventure when you're rich and famous.
He's deliberate in his appearances. Shows up too big to be allowed and always lost. Asking fellow travellers for directions and breaking every unspoken, local rule. Stopping at the bottom of escalators and standing on the right and never having his ticket ready at the barriers... but he's deliberate in his anonymity too.
He's ridden the New York subway and Shanghai's metro and Vienna's U-bahn more times than he can count. Undercover, trailing marks and tailing suspects, slipping past local police and resident gangsters alike. Just another nameless face in the crowd.
But then there's the times he's just there as himself. Times he rides the lines as Bruce. Not the billionaire, not the Bat. Just Bruce. Grey Ghost fan, hates mushrooms, loves dinosaurs. Father, friend, son. Just another traveller amidst the millions. Nobody wanting anything from him, nobody talking to him, nobody even noticing him. It's freedom unlike any he's ever known.
It makes him wonder what his life might have been. If he hadn't been born in the South Wing's master bedroom of Wayne Manor. What his children's lives might have been, if their father had just been a man, and not this man.
Dick for sure, Olympic medallist. There's no doubt. Even without the money and the training and the classes, his boy was destined for greatness. Gold medals and podiums and adoration. Coaching and teaching and leading. And, Bruce fancies, probably the ESPN correspondent for major competitions. Team USA coach. International Olympic Committee. Whatever Dick wanted; in any life there's nothing he couldn't do.
Cass, Bruce likes to think, would have been an architect. If she'd ever been afforded a normal life, ever been given the tender love and care she so deserved as a child. She reads people with ease, drilled into her as it was by Cain; a skill as crucial as its learning was cruel. But given a normal life? Architecture, Bruce is sure. The way she navigates space, the way she uses it and understands it. What better way to make a life than creating in the space she so fully inhabits? Designing structures that change the way people live, challenge how they think. She'd have been glorious.
Tim, on the other hand... Tim. If Bruce thinks about him too long the guilt starts to set in. His brilliant boy, just next door; alone for so long. Bruce was intimately familiar with the experience, though at least he'd had Alfred when he'd been young. If only he'd just paid more attention, he could have— anyway. In another time, one where Bruce rides the subway and to work and Tim doesn't spend the first decade of his life by himself, surely he'd be some fintech billionaire wizz kid by now. He'd have created a Facebook or eBay or Venmo. But better. Kinder. Richer probably than Bruce, now. And he'd still ride the metro next to his old man.
Damian, Bruce's youngest, sweetest boy. Who knows what Damian could have been, in a life where Bruce and Talia kissed each other goodbye every morning and sweet dreams each night. He's a gentle soul, really, fierce as he is. Shows it in his affection for animals. Gives them the tenderness he never had as a child. Who knows what he could have been in a life filled with light instead of shadow. Warmth and love instead of the League's relentless dark. A scientist maybe, or an astronaut. A teacher, a vet, a nurse. Whatever he wanted. A gardener, a piano tuner, a cab driver. Happy, whatever it was. And safe in the knowledge he was loved.
And then... and then, Jason. Bruce thinks of his second son the most, as he rides the rails. Takes the Bakerloo south from Marylebone and the Tanamachi west to Hirano. What Jason could have been, if things had been different. It doesn't seem fair to dwell on it. To imagine the darling, sweet boy who had been Robin as anything but. To disrespect the incredible fucking gift he's already been given of a second chance, by imagining it as any different. So instead he thinks that Jason would still be Robin. Still Red Hood. Still saving people, still putting himself on the line to make the world better. Even if Bruce didn't love the way he did it, he still loved Jason. Gods did he love him. It's too much, sometimes.
Gotham. Sometimes she's too much. But most of the time, most of the time she was everything. His home, his children's home.
To see the sun rise from the east corner of the clocktower with Cass and swing between the crumbling art deco blocks of Coventry, Dick by his side. Racing down her labyrinth of alleyways and side streets with Tim and even negotiating her sewers with Damian. And Jason. Just seeing Jason's face, scowling at him though it usually is, as he waits outside the Collins Street station for Bruce to arrive.
"Your late." He grunts, as Bruce climbs the steps of the subway. He looks at his watch irritably. "If we miss brunch, you're paying."
"Of course," Bruce says, a warm hand on Jason's shoulder as they begin to walk. "Anything for you, chum."
She's too much, sometimes. Gotham. But most of the time? She's exactly where he wants to be

i've been chewing over the tcf!tim au a lot these past few days and this is what my brain came up with: 1. jack and janet aren't really present in tim's life- not out of choice, but out of necessity: see tim had been affected with a curse (similar to that on the tcf protagonist) that made it so that he would eventually lose anything precious to him
2. after they find out, jack and janet decide to physically distance themselves from him (though they can't bring themselves to do so emotionally) while at the same time going on archaelogical trips in hopes to find a way to solve the curse. this way they would hopefully live long enough for tim to be old enough to take care of himself before the curse took them away from him
3. in the meantime, they plopped him in gotham to hopefully slow down / weaken the curse (due to how cursed the city already is, it probably acts like fighting fire with fire or poison with poison, also you can't convince me that as rich as they were they wouldn't have chosen to settle down in any other city if they had other options) and hire a revolving door of nannies (the good ones tim gets attached to often experience unfortunate circumstances that made them have to leave their post, while the bad ones get found out and fired by his parents)
4. tim still gets attached to dick at the circus (and then dick's parents died, and tim lost dick's smile that he liked)
5. tim gets attached to batman and robin -> dick and bruce fight and the og dynamic duo fall apart
6. tim gets attached to jason -> jason gets murdered
7. tim pulls batman out of his spiral and ironically, bruce's prickliness delayed tim getting attached to him, which meant he got to stick around (until he got better, then he ended up being yeeted through time)
8. that whole lead-up to brucequest where he lost a whole bunch of loved ones in quick succession? yeah, the curses of gotham are struggling against his (quantity vs quality)
i just think this idea is neat. and tim's guilt would be growing out of control once he finds out about the curse (why didn't anyone else notice before? because everyone assumed gotham folks are just cursed in general)
it also means he gets a fun (angsty) new motivation to avoid his family post-regression: he doesn't know if the curse is still active and would target them, so he plays the asshole to ward them off so that nothing worse would happen
Well, fuck.
I do love the Good!Parents Jack and Janet in this. It's a bit hard to make Jack or Janet decent parents to Tim while also affording him the independency his character typically has.
The curse is a cool addition to the tcf!Tim au that adds more reason to Tim being an asshole. Him not knowing if he's cursed or not is a great angst plot point, especially because it would be very easy for him to find out. He knows countless magic people that could tell him. Constantine would do it quietly for a quick buck. If Tim continues to not know despite his ability to, that's because he simply didn't want to find out. Dealer's choice on whether that's because he was scared or he wanted an excuse to self-destruct (i.e. cut himself off from his support groups).
The real shitty part about curses that seem like bad luck (or that cause bad luck) is that you can't be sure what is the curse and what is life being shit. Tim will probably blame himself for every horrid thing that has happened to someone after he entered their life.

I wanna know about the zombie AU!
Yes!!! Sorry for the late response but I am almost the most excited about this one hahaha
Basically Bruce is the leader of a survivor’s compound and is oppressively vigilant and distrustful of the outside, will barely let Dick out to help on supply runs unless he’s going too, but then Damian gets taken.
Bruce wants a full lockdown and information before putting together a team, dick says fuck that I’m heading after him immediately
Meets a stranger on the road… thinks he can help… Dick probably shouldn’t talk to strangers.
Snippet with zombie typical violence/gore under the cut!
Dick gave up begging to the crowd pretty quickly, it only brought jeers and projectiles down upon him. The other kids in this pit don’t learn as quickly. He wanted to yell across the labyrinth to warn them to be quiet but then it’d lead the moans of the undead to him.
Instead he skirts the walls, avoiding the particularly rowdy spectators to try to reach the other three souls trapped down here with him. He hasn’t seen a zombie yet, but the twisted game master said it was going to be a “fair fight” this round; four humans against four of the undead, no weapons except for what the crowd might throw down.
Dick is pissed he allowed himself to be tricked into these sick games, he should’ve known better. He should have listened to B when he spoke of the monsters that hungered for blood and flesh in a way more depraved than the undead.
He stuffs down his righteous anger and focuses on finding the others. If they can stay together he can protect them, they have a better chance of survival as a group. From what he could see of the other ‘contestants’, they were all much younger than his twenty. He moves quickly, the face of a particular boy stuck in his head; dark hair and so very young- probably as young as Damian- fourteen and no more.
Dick freezes as he hears feet shuffling on the other side of the wall with that tale-tell slow, awkward gait. As quietly as he can, he backtracks and turns down another corridor. He knows he is faster than them, but that is his only advantage down here. Without a weapon, he can’t afford to be surprised or backed into a corner.
Close by, the crowd’s cheers have gotten louder. However, underneath the din he can still hear the blonde girl’s begging, promising the bloodthirsty crowd anything if they get her out. Her sobs turn quickly into screams and Dick forgets caution and sprints towards her.
He skids to a stop, finding two of the undead cornering her. She fends them off with a weapon that looks like a mop handle filed into a spike. His stomach turns as he realizes she is shirtless. A man in the crowd, with a face as grotesque as any zombie’s, holds her shirt to his nose and inhales while watching her fight.
Dick doesn’t kill humans, hell he doesn’t even like killing zombies, but that man has made his list.
He throws himself at one of the zombies as the girl stabs at the other. They tumble to the ground and Dick makes sure to use his legs to keep space between him and the gaping maw full of teeth and disease. As he distances himself, the rotted man swipes out with a hand. The undead use the full strength of their muscles until they snap or rot away, Dick doesn’t want one catching hold of him. He blocks but the zombie’s forearm gives too easily under his fingers, meat and tissue slough off in his hand even as the arm keeps reaching for him.
Swallowing his vomit down, Dick rolls up to his feet. Before the zombie can follow he knocks it back down with one kick and drives his heel into its skull to finish it off.
He pulls his foot out of the gore with a wet sound and turns to check on the blonde.
She stands above the corpse victorious, breathing hard but with a relieved smile.
He easily returns it, until icy horror grips his heart.
Dick should’ve listened closer to the crowd, should’ve realized their excitement was not for their success but at the prospect of more blood.
A brutalized hand reaches for the girl before he can warn her and latches onto her. He’s in motion before either of them can utter a word.
The skin on the zombie is still pink, the blood vibrant; he’s newly turned, one of the other contestants.
With his strength and musculature still intact, she can’t break free to grab the stake out of the dead zombie’s head. The freshly undead teen pulls the blonde back towards him as her eyes helplessly meet Dick’s, she turns resigned as his teeth tear through her neck like butter.
Dick screams louder than she does.
The spray of blood from her carotid artery hits him as he slides on his knees to retrieve the weapon, pulling it out and stabbing it under the zombies chin with one fluid motion. Her body hits the floor before the corpse’s, Dick only hesitates a second to check for a pulse before driving the stake through her head as well.
Tears flow well in his eyes as he reminds himself she was already gone, no pulse, he doesn’t need any more of the undead in here with him.
Swiping his vision clear, he stays on the ground to catch his breath. He tries to block out the crowd but it’s hard when what they’re yelling is so disgusting.
“Strip and I’ll toss you a dagger!” One old man offers.
“Agree to be mine and I’ll throw down the ladder, handsome.” A venomous looking woman entices.
Dick grabs a handful of gravel and flings it up into the crowd as hard as he can. In the cacophony of pain and anger he gets to his feet and heads back into the maze, away from the main crowd looking down on him. He can’t waste his time screaming at them, they are just lucky the walls are too high for him to climb.
As he makes his way into areas he hasn’t explored he counts what players are left, two zombies and the kid. Dick tries to stay hopeful as he searches, further encouraged after taking down another one of the undead with no fresh blood on his mouth. He keeps his faith that the boy is alive. He’s gotta be.
Soft sobbing draws his attention as he gets near the back corner of the pit. There’s no spectating crowd forming here yet so it’s blessedly quiet. He finds the youngest contestant cowering on the ground, his knees drawn up tight to shield his sweaty, fearful expression.
Dick is careful to call out to the boy before approaching, scaring him off is the opposite of his goal. “Hey, hey you’re alright. I’m here now, we can fight the last one together. Are you with me, bud?”
The boy lifts his head at Dick’s voice but his face stays miserable. Tears cut clean tracks through the grime on his skin, it only accentuates the boyishness of his round cheeks.
It's only then that he notices how ghostly pale the kid looks.
Dick’s feet slow to a shuffle, finally taking a second to look at the whole picture.
The boy still doesn’t respond to him, simply raising his hand to swipe at the snot running from his nose.
Fresh blood, bright red, runs down his forearm.
It’s instinctual the way he shies back from the kid.
“Shit!” He curses, shoving a hand into his hair. Dick grips his roots painfully, trying to ground himself. “Fuck… it-it’s okay, we can still figure this out-”
Maybe it wasn’t a bite? There’s many ways to bleed down in these pits. He could be fine. It’ll be fine. Dick just needs to clean it up to get a good look at it and-
“He’s been bit, Grayson,” A familiar voice mocks from above. “It’s definitely not okay, you’re a little too late.”
Anger snuffs his panic like a bucket of ice water as he takes in the Mercenary above him. “You motherfucker, this is all your fault!” He accuses, gritting his teeth against more rage that wants to boil out. “Get me out of here now. We had a deal!”
Slade’s mouth quirks up as he pulls out a cigarette and lighter. “Think you’re mistaken, kid. I never agreed to anything.”
“The fuck you did! You went back on your word when we both needed each other’s help,” Dick seethes.
The man inhales unhurriedly before taking it out to answer. He squats down so Dick can better see his face. “That’s where you’re wrong, kid,” he taunts. “You needed help, I needed bait. Can’t get through those doors without bringing along fresh meat.”
Slade flicks open a small pocket knife, tests the edge on his arm hair before folding it back up and tossing it at Dick’s feet. “I’m almost sorry to do this to you, but you’re quick and you’re crafty. Keep your head on and I bet you’ll make it a few more rounds.”
In the rage-inducing presence of Slade, the boy and the last zombie are all but forgotten.
Dick is shaking, holding himself back from throwing the knife right back where it came from. He still bends to retrieve it and clenches it tightly in his fist. He’s not quite dumb enough to throw away a weapon.
But god, he’d been so stupid.
B taught him- trained him- not to rely on anyone, yet he had trusted the mercenary and followed him blindly into hell. The raiders arrived just after Slade left camp that night, nothing’s a coincidence out in the Empty.
Dick knew the man was dangerous but he seemed honest. He never actually lied, just artfully concealed his intentions. Dick was right to be wary in the beginning, he’s furious with himself that simply having his opinion listened to and a few, gruff but kind words was all it took to lower his guard. He won’t let it happen again.
Slade stands, flicking his cigarette butt into the pit beside Dick. “Good luck kid, you make it out of here, come find me and I’ll give you the fight you’re burning for.”
Dick is suddenly jolted out of his anger, the very person who put him in here could be his only hope of getting out. He’s got nothing to bargain with except his own body and a hunch.
“Your daughter was wrong about you,” Dick says to Slade’s back as he starts to leave.
The mercenary’s muscles ripple with tension as he freezes, his head turning to zero in on Dick. Slade’s voice is dangerously low, nearly a growl as he demands, “What did you say?”
Dick can’t help the victorious smile that takes over his face. “That first night, you said you were looking for someone, never said who, but then I saw a girl with white hair and a familiar type of arrogance… and I knew.”
“When did you see her, is she still here?”
“No. They took her, the same place they took my little brother. You get me out of here and I can lead us there.” He bargains, crossing his arms defensively.
Even from the pit, Dick can tell Slade is grinding his teeth.
“Tell me where they took her and I’ll consider pulling you out.”
Dick can’t help but laugh, “I may have been naive, but I’m not stupid.”
Slade’s raised eyebrow begs to differ. “You aren’t ready for what it means if I get you out of here,” he warns ominously.
Dick scoffs, “I’ve been on the run before, Bruce is harder to lose than these fuckers.”
“That’s not what I’m talking about. We aren’t running, I’m not blowing my cover for you.” Slade’s eye traces Dick’s body lasciviously, taking time to contemplate his next words before speaking. “If I pay them for you, then you’re mine, in all the ways you aren’t prepared for.”
Dick’s face turns red, finally realizing why only the pretty ones get spared. “You’re sick.”
“I’m realistic and I don’t do charity work.” Slade lets his words settle in, clawing their way under Dick’s skin. When his horrified expression doesn’t change, Slade shrugs, “That’s unfortunate, but I’ll find her on my own just as easily. You had potential, kid, but you’re too soft for the world outside your daddy’s walls…”
The man waits on the edge of the pit- giving Dick one last chance to change his mind- before turning his back again. It’s enough to pull a desperate, involuntary response from Dick, “Wait!”
Slade pauses, his head just barely visible to Dick beyond the pit walls. “Please, wait. My brother was shipped off to the same place as your daughter, he needs me. I-if I accept, you help get him out too.”
He glances over his shoulder, unmoved. “You are not in a position to negotiate-”
“PLEASE. Whatever you want from me: I”ll do anything, BE anything. Just promise.” Dick swallows the lump in his throat before using his last bit of ammo. Either Slade will pull him out after this or he won’t have to live knowing he failed his little brother. “Rose said you were a man of your word, don’t make her a liar.”
Slade twists around before Dick can blink, his glare pinning him in place like a physical entity. The mercenary’s controlled mask slips and all that’s left underneath is rage. It’s poisonous, all consuming… Dick can’t look away. He tries to take it back, he’s never miscalculated this poorly before meeting Slade, but the man cuts him off.
“You still want to get out of there, still want to belong to me?” Slade asks in a voice terrifyingly devoid of emotion.
Dick forces his fear-frozen body to respond, he can only manage a miniscule nod.
“Prove it. Kill the boy.”
He recoils immediately, “No!”
Slade tilts his head at the kid, “He’s at death’s door anyway, all you’re doing is shortening the wait time.”
Dick finally becomes aware of just how shallow the young boy’s breathing has become while he’s been arguing with Slade. He looks at the kid, who raises his head to meet his gaze. His face is empty of blood, lethargic but sweating profusely, he could turn at any moment… but he’s still just a boy right now. His pulse is so strong, he can see the poor kid’s heart looking like it wants to escape his chest. Dick’s face crumples in distress, turning to Slade in hope of finding any sympathy in his expression.
Slade’s face is as cold and closed off as ever. “He’s just about your brother’s age, isn’t he?” The mercenary asks as if just realizing.
Dick doesn’t remember starting to cry, it blurs his vision as looks back at the boy whose chin has started to tremble.
“We- we don’t kill the living,” Dick says, tilting his chin up as defiantly as he’s able to.
“That hippy shit is gonna get you killed someday, don’t let it be today,” Slade warns. “Kid’s only got a few more minutes, why’s it so wrong to put him out of his misery?”
“I won’t do it,” Dick nearly shouts. “It’s Bruce’s one rule-”
“Please,” A weak voice interrupts him. “Please… just do it. I don’t want to be a monster.”

omg just came across that post and pls pls share ur thoughts on 60s brudick
Don’t mind if I do!!!
Batman (1966-68) is such an odd little treasure-trove of content when you look at it with a particular lens. Of course there are meta aspects of the show that kind of support the subtle brudick reading– the addition of the Aunt Harriet character to create some kind of buffer between the two guys constantly being together, and the addition of Barbara Gordon in season 3 to try to add a (kind of?) consistent love interest for Bruce so he didn’t seem as bored with women as he kind of gave off since he barely spent any time with anyone who wasn’t Dick. And Dick’s actor Burt Ward supposedly stated in his autobiography that Bruce and Dick could be interpreted as lovers.
Compared to modern interpretations, the characters of Bruce and Dick themselves are lighter, which complements the “campy” humorous tone of the show. Reference to Bruce’s parents happens only once, and Dick’s backstory is never addressed. This Batman doesn’t prowl around every night, tormented by his demons and pushing his loved ones away. He only goes out as Batman when Commissioner Gordon rings for him, always brings along Robin, and a majority of Batman and Robin’s crime-fighting takes place during the day.
This Bruce Wayne is kind of a do-no-wrong character. He’s never rude, he’s insistently law-abiding, and he’s never shown doing anything truly debaucherous, and the implication is that he just… Never does anything debauched ever. He never smokes or drinks alcohol, but not as much as a virtue of control as it is upholding a strict moral code against it. (He will order juice or more commonly milk when any kind of drinking is expected). This Bruce is kind of insufferable in his insistence of upholding good moral standing, and will take precious time to teach a moral lesson to Dick whenever he can think of one. And basically Bruce Wayne and Brucie Wayne are one in the same in this universe. His demeanor in public is the same as his demeanor in private.
Dick is similarly one dimensional. He is a goody-two-shoes like his guardian, though he has his outbursts of frustration which Bruce immediately tamps down on with some good old fashioned moral instruction. Dick will never fight Bruce’s word, will instantly agree with everything Bruce tells him, and will stroke his ego afterwards (Gosh, Bruce, you’re right! x100). This Dick is an excellent student, has many different hobbies (some of which he is very much not good at but Bruce still insists that he practice them), but doesn’t seem to be very cool compared to his classmates. He’s actually rather awkward and embarrassing when he tries. It’s probably because he’s spending all his time with Bruce, like a vicious cycle of relying on Bruce because he can’t relate to the cool kids at school and not being a cool kid because he’s hanging out with Bruce all day lol.
In Bruce and Dick’s freetime, they are together. There are maybe 4 or 5 instances out of 120 episodes where Bruce and Dick are not spending their day together before Gordon calls. It’s delightfully absurd. It’s certainly for the reasons to ease the plot, so they can be in the same place to start the episode’s story, but it gives the impression that Bruce Wayne almost exclusively spends all his time with Dick Grayson.
The show does a good job illustrating just how incredibly loyal and devoted to one another these characters are.
In an episode taking place at Dick’s high school, the other students tease him for being the ward of a millionaire, and Dick gets pretty defensive over it. In one of the rare instances that Dick is not with Bruce (on a date with a classmate), he is called by him, and dumps a milkshake on his date so he can have an excuse to go to Bruce. (Instances of Dick not being afforded a normal dating life during his teens and young adulthood because Bruce needs him is kind of a long running theme with these characters, isn’t it.)
There are a couple episodes where Bruce refuses to fight against brainwashed Dick (though there is an episode where Dick doesn’t return the favor and punches a brainwashed Bruce after apologizing in advance for it lol)
Bruce is adamant about Dick’s place at his side. Two times, Catwoman feigns innocence and offers to work with Batman as a partner. Bruce always reminds her of Robin being his partner, to which she always offers to kill him, and it always unsurprisingly upsets Bruce.
Bruce states that he would give up his life for Dick and tries to swap places with him when he’s in danger.
Dick is willing to let a villian fall to her death if she doesn’t cure Bruce of a spell she put him under. He is willing to let her dangle on the ledge of a tall building if she doesn’t promise to make Bruce normal again. Savage.
In the series, Dick is around 15-16 years old, since at the start he doesn’t have his license and by the end he gets it, and Bruce gives him a shiny red convertible for passing his driving test. You can just tell that when this Dick goes off to college, Bruce is going to be a wreck without him. What is he going to do all day now!?
Basically, aside from the 1943 black and white Batman serial, this was the first time we see a live action Bruce and Dick. And they are shown in all their devoted glory. In my opinion, this is the best live action interpretation of Dick and Bruce together (Sorry Schumacher fans), even if it’s very silly and dated. Kinda sad that there aren’t many options to choose from.
And since this Batman works on kind of an on-call system and isn’t vehemently patrolling the streets every night, isn’t really tormented by guilt and grief and never-ending duty, it’s really easy to extrapolate lazy evenings where Bruce and Dick are just simply enjoying each other’s company. Drinking tea and milk, reading poetry, and not being able to stay away from each other. In this universe, Aunt Harriet would never catch on, but Alfred would know and give them his blessing. Dick would push for more physical affection, Bruce would chastise him and teach him some moral lesson about abstinence, Dick would immediately fold and they’d go back to their hand holding and closed mouth kisses. That’s just the way this Bruce and Dick are. And it’s kind of refreshing in a pure and soft way.
I urge anyone to give the 60s Batman series a shot. Yeah, it’s goofy, yeah, Bruce and Dick seem out of character compared to modern interpretations, but hey, they are still valid interpretations, and it’s easy to see just how transparently they care for each other.

Tumblr media
You’ve been an avenger for only a few months. Probably less than half a year. In this time you still managed to make friends and even started a little flirtation with Steve.
But being an avenger made your life harder than ever before. Even when you’ve been an Agent your life wasn’t as stressful as it was now, with the whole pressure of saving the world and all that…
Yet you still managed to find something that helps you clear your mind from time to time. Baking. Whenever you baked you felt a bit better, a bit calmer. Like a normal person. Or…as normal as you could manage.
Cake or cookies, it didn’t matter what you baked but it always helped you relax. Also, you knew everyone enjoyed your baked goods. Natasha liked your pastries, Tony and Bruce loved your brownies, Thor pretty much everything, the same for the twins and Bucky. And Steve-
“Could you maybe make those chocolate cookies again? They’re so good”, asked Steve, slightly embarrassed. Seeing him blush from a simple question made you smile at him. It was just so cute for someone to ask about your goods and be embarrassed about it. “Sure, Stevie. Would you like to help me? I can teach you?”, he immediately stood up from his stool walking over to you, already cuffing up his sleeves. “I’m pretty sure you need eggs, right?”
A soft laugh escaped your lips while you took all necessary ingredients and threw them in a bowl, then gave him it. Steve started stirring everything together, his gaze still glued to your silhouette. “How did-I mean-do you like it? I mean baking”, he stuttered, his cheeks turning a soft reddish color again.
Your lips twitched upwards, while you caressed his forearm with your fingers in thought. “Yeah, I’ve always enjoyed baking-the first cake I’ve baked was a banana cake. It tasted quite…interesting but was really nice. Not as bad as I thought it would be. Especially for it being my first…”, the memory of it making you sigh fondly.
Only a few seconds later you felt Steve arms wrapping around you to grab something from the counter. You’d breath hitched, while you slowly leaned back against his hard chest, expecting him to pull away, but instead he put one of his arms closer around you. Making you smile happily. A similar smile on Steve’s lips, which you couldn’t see. “I’ve always wished for someone to bake me a cake…one with blueberries…and strawberries….just fruits, you know? We never had a lot of fresh fruits”, he mumbled into your hair, his voice sounding nostalgic.
You’ve always been curious about his past, especially the food during the war and before it. About the baked goods, just everything. He never talked much about it. There were a few reasons why, for one Tony teased him about being older than half of the buildings in New York, which always made him frustrated and also nostalgic or sad. But you were curious. You wanted to get to know him. Steve was such a nice guy, you’d love to get closer to him, maybe even in a relationship.
Listening to him talking about a fruit cake he always wanted made you look over your shoulder at him. “Yeah? I can make you one..for the right price. I’m sure you could afford it tho…maybe a coffee together…”, you giggled, unintentionally leaning back against his chest a bit more, not noticing how Steve blushed at your words.
“You’d make me a cake? A cake for me?”, his innocent yet happy voice made you giggle again. “Of course Steve! I mean, I’m already baking cookies for you, so a cake won’t be a problem” “yeah, but you’ve made the cookies before. Everyone loves them…and you’d…make the cake because of me”, he mumbled. You could hear in his voice how unsure he was about it all.
You put down the bowl, turning around to him. “Steve. It’s just a cake…you deserve a cake, one that you’d like…if you don’t like getting one just because I want to make one let’s say it’s…for your birthday-“ “my birthday is in two months-“ “but you had many more, Steve. You spend nearly a hundred birthdays in the ice…you deserve a cake”, you smiled kindly, noticing tears welling up in his eyes, while his lips twitched upwards.
“Thank you…it’s…it’s really sweet of you. Nobody has ever done something like this for me, especially not now after waking up”, he sighed, surprising you with a tight hug. But it only lasted for a few seconds, before he quickly turned around and cleared his throat.
“Maybe we can do it tomorrow or-” “Don’t be silly, I’ll use the dough for the cake now-you just sit down and relax. Your cake will be ready in….let’s say, forty minutes? Yeah, i think I’ll manage in forty minutes.” You grabbed the bowl once again, adding other ingredients that’d be needed for the cake.
You heard him walk up to you, just watching how you prepared the dough. “Steven, you’re hovering. I can feel your breath on my neck-” “sorry, sorry.”
“Still feeling it…” “sorry, I just don’t want to let you do all the work”, he mumbled, making you chuckle quietly. While you shook your head you looked over your shoulder at him. “Then…get the fruits you want and slice them-not too thin.”
When Steve was done with his job you made him finally sit down at the table at wait (especially after he nearly made you trip over his feet, standing too close to you.)
After an hour the cake was finished and you were already taking it out of the oven, putting it out to let it cool. “So, you’re excited?”, you grinned at Steve, who was fidgeting in his seat.
He immediately started nodding, grinning brightly at you like a little kid. “Can we have some?” “In a few minutes, Steve, it has to cool down.”
Only a second later.
„Can we have some now?”
“Steve!” “Sorry, sorry. I’ll wait.”
But of course he did not wait, instead he burned his hand while touching the tray making you shake your head silently as he sucked at his hurting finger.
What. An. Idiot.
But you had fallen for him anyway.
Or maybe for this exact reason? Because he was just himself with you?
A few more minutes later you finally took out two plates and a knife, which you gave Steve. “I don’t wanna cut it. I’ll mess it up-“ “Stevie, it’s your cake. You’re the one to cut the first piece”, you smiled at him, stepping closer to him and wrapping your hand around his wrist, moving the knife with him.
You could feel his arm tremble a bit, his breathing hardening. He felt incredibly nervous so close to you, but he tried to hide it, especially when you leaned a bit against his body.
God, he could burst any second.
“Now, have a taste”, you smiled, finally having both a piece each. “Tell me how you like it.” You waited for him to take the first bite, watching how he slowly lifted the fork to his rosy, kissable lips.
A quiet moan rumbled in his chest while he chewed, immediately taking another bite. “Ish sho goof”, he mumbled with a full mouth, making you chuckle. “I’m glad you like it. It’s all for you”, you smiled while eating your own piece.
It was sweet how Steve seemed to enjoy the cake. He ate two more slices, before finally pushing the plate a bit away. “I’m full-and it was so, so good. I can’t believe you did that just for me”, he smiled contently, a small blush reappearing on his cheeks.
“You deserve a cake Steve, it’s just a cake”, you smiled at the blond man, gently taking his hand in yours. Both of you felt the tension that slowly grew. A little spark.
“You said it’s for my birthday, right?”
“Yeah, I did. A cake for one of your many birthdays that you missed”, you whispered, gently brushing your thumb over hos knuckles.
“So that means…I could wish for a birthday gift, too?” Steve’s question made you laugh quietly, but you nodded. “Sure? What do you want? But remember, I’m not Tony stark I don’t have a black car-”
“A kiss?”

BIRD LORE
Stevie ‘Bird’ Corcoran was born to Lillian and David on November 2nd, 1978. He grew up in a three bedroom apartment with his two brothers and two sisters in Seattle, Washington.
Physical description-> stevie is blonde with wavy hair that he wears in a mullet. He’s got hazel eyes, he’s 5’10, he’s got snakebite piercings, and a scar covering the left side of his face.
Backstory -> TW SH/SA/Neglect/Abuse -> Stevie’s mother, Lillian, left after the twin girls, Emma and Lilly (1985), were born. Their financial situation was already bad, but David completely denied their struggles and continued to spend like it was nothing. This forced the two eldest, Mikey (1976) and Stevie, to have to steal food for their other siblings. Danny (1979) was usually in charge of watching the twins. When they were old enough to stay home on their own, because there was no way David would be trusted to watch them (he acted like a teenager, he’d have his loud friends over until late hours watching football and playing poker). When they could stay on their own, Mikey and Stevie brought Danny on one of their ‘shopping trips’ but he tripped and fell, getting the three of them caught. Stevie stayed behind and took the fall while his brothers ran, and he was taken in by police (he was 17). David picked him up and kicked him out of the apartment. He moved in with Gabi and her parents for the remainder of his senior year of high school. During this stage of his life he was incredibly depressed and used sh to cope. This would go on for a while, even as he worked at PPTH. He had earned enough in scholarships and outside work that he was able to entirely afford to earn his bachelors and PhD at University of Washington, where he got…fruity…with his roomate, who dropped out after two months. -> During his time there, he met Lauren at a bar one night. He was drunk, feeling a hell of a lot of internalized homophobia, and decided to go home with her to “fix himself”. He changed his mind when they got there but she wouldn’t listen and he could hardly stand on his own. So he let her do whatever. She became pregnant with Anna, and they got married, because that’s how he was raised. -> Lauren and 4 year old Anna attended Stevie’s final graduation where he earned his PhD, and he informed her that he wanted a divorce. As soon as that went through, he moved to New Jersey. He got a job at PPTH in the forensics department, and he was informed on his first day that the department head had quit, moving him up to the position. -> Gabi moved up there soon after and they moved into a duplex together. He wasn’t in much contact with any of his siblings besides Mikey, but he occasionally gets Christmas cards from the others.
Workplace relationships and dynamics (still editing) ->
Emilie -> they have breakfast 😋😋
Cosmo -> acquaintances, they bring each other food
Syd -> Cousins :D
Hen -> like surrogate father type thing
Teagan -> yappers 😮‍💨
Reina -> she and Anna are besties
Ev -> boyfriends 😝
Flux -> they’re friends :) flux has been trying to tell him for years that he’s probably bi at the least.
I think he’s also close with Danny, Bruce, and Andy, and they’re what he’d consider his friend group. Also—zombiebusters!
This will be edited!! Also lmk if there’s typos 😝 or if sm doesn’t make sense
