Amazing if true…can you imagine buying an abandoned storage unit and it’s the actual original Enterprise inside
(The filming model, that is. The full-sized Enterprise would require a much larger storage unit, probably off-planet.)

I sincerely wish I had the time, patience and skill to build, paint, and light my Enterprise models like this.

the thing about hakoda to me is that by all rights he should be some dad in cargo shorts and a goofy print short-sleeve button-up shirt in line at the hardware store happily buying supplies for the latest thing he's building in his garage but unfortunately due to genre and colonialism he has be a great Warrior and Leader Of Men. he should be building star wars legos with his son and going on gay little fishing trips with his best buddy but instead he's gotta Lead The Troops in a Noble Fight to Protect their Homeland Against the Evil Empire. he just wants to grill for god's sake but the narrative won't let him

Here's another ship I made for the Commonwealth of Planets, an interplanetary government from a worldbuilding project I'm working on. This one's called the Bulwark-class Supercarrier.
At 3 times the length of the Stalwart the Bulwark was made for a different purpose, to carry starfighters into battle. It could hold a combined total of over 250 starfighters, far more than the 45 carried by a single Stalwart. Although it lacked Arc cannons it still featured an extensive point-defense and flak system designed to combat any attacking squadrons that may be looking for close-range attacks. It also featured two underslung hangar bays that could hold a Vanguard-class Corvette each for rapid deployment against enemy threats.
Although less famous than its smaller cousin, the Stalwart, the Bulwark proved to be a crucial asset to the Commonwealth and was often seen leading Battlegroups.

From The Saleroom prop auction in 2022:
A starship model miniature from the sci-fi series Star Trek: The Next Generation and Star Trek: Deep Space Nine. The starship design was featured as a Lysian sentry pod in Next Generation's Season 5 episode "Conundrum," Kelsey's (Marie Marshall) mercenary scout ship in the Season 6 episode "Starship Mine," and the cargo ship Ekina in Deep Space Nine's Season 2 episode "Invasive Procedures."

MPC 1:48 scale Star Wars A-Wing plastic model build photoset February 25th, 2023
Here is my finished MPC A-Wing. This is the old kit from the ‘80s with the tinted canopy. Fortunately, the triangle decals still work fine. The tiny pilot figure that comes with this kit is complete crap and I tossed him into my Sarlaac Pit (trash can). The pilot I used instead came from MPC’s TIE Interceptor, which is completely inaccurate for the Imperial pilot figure but looks rather appropriate as an A-Wing pilot!
The kit is nice, but I needed to use putty to fill in the huge holes where those landing gears plugged into. I used some copper rod and other parts to cover up the area where the central landing gear hole is.
I used Oyumaru and UV resin to drill out holes for the cockpit console to light up the instrumentation.
Since this is an older kit with raised panel lines, I first primed the A-Wing black, then used a pre-shading technique for the panels using Mr. Color 307 is the main base color. I then went over it with Tamiya LP-35, Insignia White. I used Mr. Color 66 Bright Green for the trim, which I think turned out nicely. I used masking solution to achieve the paint chipping. Gaia Notes 43 Clear Black was used for the smoke effect.
Lighting this kit was fairly easy, except for the cockpit interior. Holes were drilled for the engines. For the central cluster of engines, I used fiber optics, but in retrospect using SMDs would have provided a far better effect.
Please leave a like if you enjoyed this content.

Minecraft stream, 7:00 - 10:00 PM eastern
My replica of the USS Enterprise is coming along nicely, and tonight I'm going to outline all the decks in the secondary hull. I'll probably begin willing in the warp nacelles too.

During Covid-19 lockdown I attempted to build the Enterprise-D.
But I have ADHD and it was going untreated at the time, and I’m bad at model building… so it failed.
Then Eaglemoss came out with a “build the Enterprise-D” subscription service. And for a while, it was okay…
But then Eaglemoss went bankrupt and now my model sits incomplete in a Tupperware box under my computer.
Now TOMY is releasing an enormous light up Enterprise model that is Die-Cast and is fully painted and assembled, thus bypassing my ADHD no model building skills issue.
But it’s $700 and only available for this month.
I’ve been burned twice…

I've been working on the turbolift for my Star Trek starship model, using Mr. Scott's Guide as my primary reference since I couldn't find set blueprints or any actual dimensions. Also watched just about every turbolift scene in the first three movies about 800 times. :p
There's one shot, ONE, in Wrath of Khan that gives a glimpse of the ceiling, showing the four-panel light fixture. I love the shape, with the rounded corners--reminds me of that Simon toy from the 80s.
I took the liberty of adding some air vents and CO2 scrubbers to the outer ring of the ceiling--that TWoK scene the only shot I've found that shows the ceiling at all, and that part's in shadow--you don't know they aren't there! And this is a spaceship, you can't take air circulation for granted in space. There's enough room between the ceiling and the outer roof for some emergency oxygen tanks.
I had the idea that the escape hatch in the center of the ceiling could also be a grav platform, like the one in this scene from TMP:
Just the thing if you need to escape up the turboshaft in an emergency.
I found myself wondering how you'd operate the thing, since if you're standing on it you can't reach any physical controls. It's probably voice-activated. I made up the following commands:
PLATFORM HOVER: it maintains its current height.
PLATFORM RISE: it goes up slowly
PLATFORM EMERGENCY RISE: it goes up fast. Good thing it's a gravity generator, so it can hold you on.
PLATFORM DESCEND: it goes down slowly.
PLATFORM EMERGENCY DROP: it goes down fast.
Maybe using the emergency drop in an empty turboshaft is the 23rd century equivalent of bungee jumping. As long as you don't get cau--what? No, Senior Chief, I was just doing some maintenance on this, uh, plasma... dyne... flux-thingie.
