It just struck me how unusual it is that Star Trek TOS had no smoking. Not on the Enterprise. Not while people are relaxing on shore leave. Not by desk admirals. It was the 60s and this was actually pretty unusual. Go under-the-radar accurate predictions!

weird anecdote? we had assemblies every week in primary school that were like mini half an hour plays/comedy sketch shows written and performed by different classes in the school and one of them entirely spoiled the plot of star wars for me

i don’t remember the whole sketch but it was supposed to be group therapy for vader, leia and luke, and at one point luke flings presumably his own severed arm at vader when vader asks for forgiveness from his children.

also leia says she’ll forgive him if he takes them to mcdonald’s and they cut to a musical number. genuinely that’s all i remember.
