i really like that for almost all star trek, vulcan mind melds are like very obviously a metaphor for sex bc of the inherent vulnerability of it all and they use that metaphor in a lot of interesting ways EXCEPT for in voyager. in voyager mind melds are the solution to most diplomatic issues
