Do you believe in the rumors of Keri Russell's character is Rey's mother?
Oh, dear anon, I don’t believe in any rumor… I think we shouldn’t. I see how the rumor could start, because Keri’s character could work as the beautiful mother of beautiful Rey, they have similar delicate features… They will do whatever they will do, but I sincerely hope they don’t go that way. Except if it is a flashback. The story of Rey’s lineage should stay as it is. I am perfectly fine with it. Why should it matter more anyways that the story they are currently unfolding for us? I would expect some flashbacks though, because we have had some in TFA and TLJ, and since the story is still muddy around Kylo’s past, I would expect some more. Hell, for all we know, what if Keri Russell’s character is one of the students that fled Luke’s temple and became a KOR? I have no mindset about this character at this point. I guess we will have to wait patiently, at least until we get to see some stills or photographs. Costume and makeup could give us precious information…

Can we talk about the fact that they chose Leia/Han's kiss, Anakin/Padme's marriage kiss, and the Reylo hand touch to be in the shots looking back at the important moments from the previous films? And people say romance isn't on the cards... It couldn't be more obvious!
Reylo is canon!

If you think about it, the galaxy after episode 9 is absolutely fucked. The half a dozen metropolitan planets that made up the government were annihilated, galaxy was invaded by a foreign military(first order), said military is destroyed, along with 99% of the rebellion, so now their is no government, no standing military to defend from pirates, crime lords, or foreign enemies, so what the fuck happens?? Likely the core worlds will fund their own defense forces and be ok due to their massive trade but the mid and outer rim are gonna be fucked beyond belief. The massive power vacuum left behind after episode 9 will likely lead to decades of small scale war throughout most of the galaxy. It’s so sad cause is this the skywalker legacy? A galaxy more chaotic than under the fascist empire? More suffering than there has been in thousands of years? It’s just sad :(

“Cyclops”
Finally a cryptic spoiler made just for me!
A few things are suggested by this:
The key aspect of the Cyclops episode is Odysseus calling himself “Nobody”. “Who is hurting you, Polyphemus?” “Nobody is hurting me!” “If nobody is hurting you then stop yelling!” Rey is associated a lot with being nobody. “Who are you?” asks Luke. “I’m no-one.” “You’re nobody, you come from nothing, you have no place in this story, but not to me,” says Kylo. The mystery of Rey’s identity is central to the story. So with the clue “Cyclops”, this could go in various ways. Could Rey’s very lack of background be the key to defeating Palpatine? Will Palpatine be yelling “A nobody has hurt me!” Alternatively, is this a sign that Rey is lying about her origins? Odysseus is calling himself “Nobody” as a trick. (The word for “nobody” in Greek, μη τις, is actually a pun: μητις as a single word means “cunning”.) And in fact he ends up getting cursed when his desire for recognition causes him to tell the Cyclops who he really is - knowing Odysseus’ true name gives the Cyclops the power to curse him. Does Rey know something about her background that she is concealing from everyone? Could this be linked to dark!Rey? “Me too, big secret,” she says back in TFA and I do wonder...
The meta point to Odysseus’ trick in terms of his character is that Odysseus must become a true nobody in order to succeed in the world of The Odyssey - he must give up his very identity and name and everything that makes him him. There is no place for heroic arrogance and glory (themes of The Iliad) if Odysseus is going to survive and return home. If the Cyclops episode is Odysseus at his cleverest then it cannot be divorced from the overall theme of The Odyssey which is the return of a war-scarred wanderer to his home, his father, his wife and the power that is his right and from which he has been stripped. But in order to succeed at that, he must first be stripped absolutely of all these things. Calling himself Nobody is the most overt and extreme example of the ways in which Odysseus denies his identity throughout the poem - such as becoming a beggar, lying about his identity and his past, losing his clothes, being made invisible... When he arrogantly proclaims to the Cyclops that he is “Odysseus, son of Laertes, King of Ithaca” at precisely the wrong moment, he is cast back to square one and cursed. Only when he has totally denied himself and hit rock bottom can he slowly be rebuilt as son, father, husband, king and reclaim his home from usurpers. I mean, not to read too much into this or anything, but... Bendemption, anyone?
On a totally different note, the way in which Odysseus and his companions escape from the Cyclops is by blinding him and then tying themselves to the underside of his precious rams and letting them take them out of the cave in the morning, avoiding him even when he’s reaching blindly for the rams. Could the Resistance try a similar trick to escape from a tricky situation, somehow disguising themselves to escape from right under the First Order’s nose, attaching themselves to FO ships, for example? I don’t know, but I think there’s the potential for a fun plot that mirrors the escape from the Cyclops’ cave.

Star Wars Episode IX: Rise of the Skywalker
I’m just gonna talk about the first few seconds of the trailer. For one, context is everything and since this is the last film of the current trilogy, and this is only the first trailer, the makers will do everything possibly to mislead audiences.
Let’s begin, if you just watched this scene like any other scene, you might think that Rey was trying to get away from Kylo Ren. But if that were the case, it’s not a very effective strategy. But if you look closer, then that theory doesn’t stand. Look at these stills (sorry, I can’t make gifs)
She’s searching for Kylo on the horizon, almost as if waiting for him.
She inhales deeply, the way you would if you were gonna do something that required a lot of concentration and focus.
She finally spots him flying in.
And strangely enough, she looks calm and collected. She looks focused.
And then, as he gets closer, she immediately turns around and waits for him to get closer. Now why would she do that? And more importantly, if Kylo and Rey were indeed at odds, why hasn’t he fired yet, when her back is turned?
She looks back at the ship, waiting for it to get even closer...
And then breaks into a run, still facing away from the ship, leaving her back exposed.. What’s stopping Kylo from shooting at her and seriously wounding her if not outright, killing her? Absolutely nothing. Unless, that was never the intention anyway. They aren’t meeting here as adversaries, more as allies.
That leap almost looks like she’s hitching a ride with Kylo without him having to stop and land (very neat indeed)
He could have shot at her a million times, she could have shot at him a million times and neither chose to do so. Also, this part of the trailer is the longest bit. Isn’t it strange that the the first trailer they release, focuses so heavily on Rey and Kylo not being enemies (keeping my Reylo shipper goggles aside for a moment)
The Last Jedi trailer gave us Kylo pleading with Rey without context, The Rise of the Skywalker gives us Rey and Kylo being allies but masking it by making it look like they’re enemies.
All of this serves no purpose if they were gonna keep Kylo as the main antagonist. His redemption is coming. He is the last Skywalker. Yes, he is Han Solo’s son but he gets his jacked up jedi powers from his Skywalker side.
Ben Solo is the last Skywalker, unless JJ Abrams retcons Rey’s parentage and makes her a secret Skywalker, except that doesn’t make sense either. If she’s Luke’s daughter, why didn’t he own up to it? Making Rey Luke’s daughter, makes Luke look even more shitty. Not only did he abandon her but also did not accept her as his daughter when she did come to him for guidance. Abrams would have to completely disregard TLJ and they won’t do that.

im rewatching revenge of the sith and i noticed threepio has no clear role except that he's been hanging near padme throughout the whole film
but then near the end bail organa says "have the protocol droid's mind wiped" (referring to threepio)
SO ESSENTIALLY 3PO'S MEMORY INCLUDING PADME AND ANAKIN'S HISTORY IS LYING AROUND IN SOME MEMORY CHIP SOMEWHERE AND THAT'S PROBABLY WHY HE'S SO IMPORTANT IN THE RISE OF SKYWALKER
WHAT IF HE REGAINS HIS MEMORY AND REVEALS WHAT HAPPENED BETWEEN ANAKIN AND PADME AND THAT SHOWS HOW ANAKIN REALLY FELL TO THE DARK SIDE OR SOMETHING
AND HEAR ME OUT THIS IS A LONG SHOT BUT LMAO WHAT IF 3PO TELLS THIS TO THE RESISTANCE, INCLUDING REY, WHO IN TURN TELLS BEN, AND BEN REALISES HIS GRANDFATHER'S MISTAKE AND DOES THE RIGHT THING
SO WHAT IM SAYING IS. C-3PO WILL SAVE BEN SOLO
OK IM LAUGHING TOO HARD BYE

Some thoughts I had on the Sequel Trilogy...
I was listening to a livestream @girllswithsabers did a few days ago, and they really had my gears turning. I've really been thinking about this recently, but until I listened to their livestream, I wasn't sure how to put it into words. And then it all finally kicked. Here's why Reylo is so much more important than just a "ship". It's the heart of this trilogy and the entire saga.
First, all abusive relationships exist on a foundation of a power imbalance. One person has all the power in an abusive relationship. That's not Rey and Kylo. It is impossible for them to be in an abusive relationship because they are EQUALLY powerful in the Force, and Kylo respects her for that. There is a mutual respect, despite opposing ideologies.
They BOTH have things they have to work on and maturing to do before they can come together. Yes, Kylo obviously has done horrible things and he has to come to terms with those things and atone for them, so it wouldn't be good if Rey stayed with him at the end of TLJ. But Rey's greatest strength is her compassion for people. The strongest thing you can do is choose to have compassion and forgive someone who has wronged you, especially if they are taking the steps to change. Any relationship they have will need to come after redemption, and it will.
Snoke and Kylo are the definition of an abusive relationship. Snoke was more powerful than Ben and took advantage of how vulnerable and hurt he was from his family. He made him think that he could rely on no one but him, until Rey came along. Kylo saw that there was someone exactly like him out there who wouldn't try to use him for his powers or his legacy because she is just as powerful as he is. Ben couldn't kill Snoke without Rey, and that's when he found the strength and opportunity to do so.
The biggest point of it all is this: this is Star Wars. It's a space fairy tale meant to be a monomyth not beholden to the laws and morals of our world. Yes, they are based off of real-life problems and scenarios, but it is meant to entertain, first and foremost. It is also meant to have us think about how we can treat people in real life and what happens when we come together as humanity.
Second, because Star Wars is a monomyth, it discussses the relationships between men and women, the masculine and the feminine, like other mythologies do. It does this starting with Anakin and Padmé and how their imbalanced relationship leads to an imbalance in the Force and an overwhelming amount of masculine and not enough feminine.
Episodes I-VI we see that imbalance, even after Vader dies. Nothing in the galaxy was solved. The Sequel Trilogy's sole purpose is to bring balance to the Force. How? By bringing together the Masculine and the Feminine, finally, as equals. It's told from a female gaze because it doesn't just embolden women, but it says that men and women can have both the Masculine and the Feminine and the world can be at peace if we just come together.
Women are also representative of life because we birth babies. It's the men of the Skywalker family that have caused the destruction of the galaxy, and they didn't have an equal woman to help bring balance back to the Force. What does Luke teach Rey in TLJ? That between life and death, cold and warmth, decay and growth there is a balance. Women represent life, men represent death. Both are necessary, both are equal, and both feed into each other. You can't have one without the other. Rey is Light, Kylo is Dark. Too much of either throws things out of balance. The Jedi Council of the prequels, the Empire of the originals.
All of this to say that, from this perspective, that's the story Episodes VII-IX are telling, and that's why it makes sense that Rey and Ben will be together at the end, that they have to be together at the end. Their relationship is deeper than just a romance, and it doesn't make sense for it to go any other way. In fact, if they didn't follow through with it, it would be a waste of a story and a cowardice move. But, as Kathleen Kennedy said, the Force is female! Thank goodness she was overseeing the making of this trilogy. She knows that you need both a man AND woman's perspective when telling stories. We had the male perspective with the other two trilogies. Now it's time for the female perspective.
Yes, a lot of mostly male and some female fans hate Reylo and hate these movies. But Star Wars is trying to shift the storytelling perspective and not only bring balance to the Force, but tell the audience that amazing things happen when women and men come together as equals, that there is peace when done so. And yeah, we are used to seeing romances from a male gaze perspective. We've been watching them for years, and it's hard to enact change. But of all the franchises that can do it and should do it, it's Star Wars because it's a modern mythology.
So yeah, some men and women are going to reject it initially, but the more we tell it the more it'll take root in people and change perspectives. I'm not bashing men at all, just trying to explain why Reylo is important. You certainly don't have to like it, but if you can try and understand why so many women and even men have clung to this trilogy, it's because it's speaking to us this time. And because of that, we can all learn important things from it.
Anyway, Rey and Ben are the Balance, and there is no doubt in my mind that they are going to be together at the end of TRoS. They have to be. From this particular storytelling perspective, it doesn't work any other way. And I suspect maybe that's why Kathleen Kennedy fired Colin Trevorrow in the first place. Maybe he just couldn't see and understand the female gaze story. So really, the fact that we have Kennedy really is the most reassuring reason that we're getting a Ben and Rey happy ending.
Anyway, enough rambling. Whatever your thoughts are on the Sequel Trilogy, whether you love it or hate it, I would encourage you to go in with an open mind in December and really pay attention to what the story is trying to say. Try and understand why so many women love this story, and some men, too!
A HUGE thank you to Girls with Sabers for inspiring this post with their livestream, and for encouraging me to post my thoughts! You should check out that livestream AND their YouTube channel. They have done amazing work, and really they are the ones that started making me think of Reylo from a literary and symbolic angle in the first place. Thanks ladies! 😊❤❤❤

Okay guys hear me out
I was looking at the tecnical details about Ben’s tie silencer. The most interesting thing I found was that it has an advanced stealth field generator. What does it mean? It basically means that it can become INVISIBLE. What if he was training her force abilities, without her relying on sight. I AM CALLING IT

I just keep thinking about Palpatine, who had destroyed the Skywalker matriarch and patriarch by manipulating Anakin’s fear of his wife’s death and loss... he told Anakin he knew a way to live forever, and a way to keep Padme alive forever. Anakin believed him, put faith in something other than love, and they both were banished into death, and the galaxy was thrown into turmoil in sympathy.
They will finally learn, after so many years—they will learn that true immortality in myth is gained only through the resurrective boon of love. They, resurrected and alive again in mythical love, will face him again and prove it. He has false life, an evil shadow of the soul. They have learned the true Force that is the love between things. Then he will face a true death while they rise in perfect triumph, perfected and balanced, consummate heroes. I cannot believe this is the story, it’s so overwhelming thinking about it.

The Rise of Skywalker song countdown: day 9 of 22
Did I save you cause I know you saved me too?
If you take a step towards me
You will take my breath away
So I'll keep you close and keep my secret safe
No one else has ever loved me
No one else has ever tried
I never understood how much I could take
Then I saw the worst was over
When I laid my eyes on you
It was all that I could do to know my place
I don't follow past illusions
I don't bother, dreams come true
I was gone until I finally saw your face
If you cried out for more
If you reached out for me
I would run into the storm
Just to keep you here with me
I have gone beyond my years
I've wasted half my life
But I found it all in you
Did I save you cause I know you saved me too
Yayy, I absolutely love this song! It has such big sappy Reylo vibes sisbsjsbsos whatever
It just shows how much Rey means to Ben as she was the one who started him turn to the light, which will hopefully continue in tros.
“I don't follow past illusions”
Hopefully tros will be the time where they finally let the past die (being Vader’s helmet and Ben’s connection to the bad guys.;))
I CAN NOT believe that it’s only 13 days until I’m gonna die in the cinema, can’t wait tbh
see u in hell reylos 😘🖤
