Just finished watching this movie last night. I love the use of the Captain's Log for various reasons. But I appreciate that it allows for a bit of narration and a glimpse into the characters perspective.

The thing that is tricky for me with films is that there isn't a lot of room for "what is going in inside the character's head" on the big screen - and that might just be me, but I love writing because it's so easy to get the characters thoughts down, even from a third person perspective. and I love knowing what a character thinks because it often does not match to the way they are perceived and it's my favorite thiiing.

i'm just going to go ahead and make this its own post. when kirk teases spock he is SO GENTLE. "why mister spock are you feeling emotion?" and he lets spock do the vulcan equivalent of giggling and kicking his feet and going "haha nooo silly i'm a VULCAN i don't do that!!" and kirk's like "oh my apologies mister spock of COURSE not" and then they make consensual loving eyecontact with one another while smiling. when BONES senses blood in the water (spock having an emotion) he will grab spock by the scruff of his fucking neck and shake until dead. like a dog with a squirrel.

The response from fan artists was incredible! Our original idea of a single 12 month calendar filled up in one hectic day. We bumped it up to an 18 month calendar - and that not only filled up but left us with a waiting list. So we decided to make two 18-month calendars, one each for Spock and Kirk. We had to close submissions after 48 hours because we were once more full.
