i try to stay out of this all but like. i just think its really interesting how it matters so much for a team to see out a contract/think of the drivers mental health/look at their full body of driving work as opposed to the recent results when its a driver you like but suddenly all of that goes out the window when its a driver you dont like. and also, how throwing around sponsor money/connections/pr image to benefit career and make you more lucrative to teams is fine and just part of the sport when a driver you like does it, but sacrilege apparently when its a driver you dont like is doing it...

From the thumbnails alone, the main Rider boy looks so Aruto-coded and it does good things to my heart. I almost want to see him do an Aruto ja naito (･ω･) Though I need to plead for this guy to not snap like a tree trunk every fourth business day. It's fun to watch in retrospect - and somehow a testament to acting skills - but it's heartburn and stress in real time lol

Junko Komura might be the lead writer? If that's true then this is going to be so fun! I've wanted to see her hand at a Rider series because I adore LuPato, I like a good chunk of Komura's humour, her dramatic beats get my brainworms and tears rolling like no tomorrow, and while I skipped Zenkaiger I did adore Stacey with every pathetic bone in my body. Stacey fancam mode was such a wonderful time <3 Maybe that means I'll get the toku ikemen I've been wanting for a while...? xD

Then again, the deal breaker could be the suit designs. I've noticed with Reiwa toku that I tend to skip series if I don't like a good portion of the suits (though I do want to see Revice and Donbrothers someday), and Gavv is - well, something so far lol We'll have to wait and see!

and yeah a big part of what led me to that interpretation was how in (i think) their first call they say they dont have leverage, so Shrue's partner just needs to call them back. you could interpret this as Shrue's lack of leverage over the government but i dont think so!! they seem to be trying to portray that they are safe and protected by their position - "i think our scientists are really going to impress us" etc. - so it makes less sense that theyd suddenly admit otherwise over a presumably monitored phoneline at that point in time. i interpret it more as there's nothing Shrue can hold over their family to make them call back, and there's a whole host of juicy relationship implications that come with that. and then theres how they say, "i need that comfort from you?" like its a question??? like they have to beg because theyre unused to seeking comfort like that??? and then, in their final call, they list divorce before any other reason for their partner not calling back, implicitly revealing that they view it as the strongest argument!!

also, as was said on siltcord, Carson is really just an improvisor and not a strategist. i doubt he would have planned far ahead enough to bother actually faking Shrue's family, nor would have have needed to for his lie to have its intended effect.

Overall I thought it was really funny! Although there were some moments that could've been planned better (they picked really shitty fan questions lol). But Roy Keane's an absolute god man just oozes fcking humour he's hilarious as hell lol. Also realised now how much of the show didn't actually make it to the final cut??????
